Not what MSC used to be

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

I booked this shorter Med cruise, to check if standards and general improvement where high on MSC wish list, to my dismay they were not. After a shambolic trip on the MSC Opera from Abu Dhabi to Genoa in may 2023, I tested the so called high calibre of service and quality which the company was aiming for, unfortunately all fallen by the wayside. The embarkation process was swift and very quick, ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Saturn

While on the boat and in the room all is wonderful. Food is fantastic and service wonderful. Purchasing the silver alcohol upgrade isn’t really valuable because half of the waiter/bar staff don’t seem to understand it and even charged me for upgrades beyond having paid for silver . The extensions of front and back as well as the flights picked by Viking are not just poor they are outright bad. We ...

Modern clean ship - very crowded

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Euribia

I've worked on cruise ships a few years ago but this was our first experience cruising as passengers. Good Stuff: 1. Embarkation was straightforward 2. Modern clean ship. 3. Cabin well proportioned and appointed 4. Cabin steward was really nice and always did a great job looking after us. 5. Guest singer in the Carouselle lounge was excellent - I'd look for her again when doing ...

Not What I Expected

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

I choose this cruise because it was affordable but the food wasn't impressive nor was the service at the Wave Restaurant. I did enjoy the entertainment which was great! However when you cruise the highlight is alway the quality of your food. I did book one of the specialty restaurants which was hibachi style that was quite tasty & entertaining as well. I booked a balcony cabin but it ...

DO NOT BOOK AN OCEANA CRUISE

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

In May 2022, my husband and I along with 4 others in our group, put deposits down on what I thought would be a cruise of a lifetime. So I thought. Barcelona to Dubai with visits to Israel and Egypt was what sold us. Fast-forward to 2023 and this cruise itinerary was basically scrapped including Israel, Egypt, Jordan & Oman (and rightfully so because of the war.) However, Oceana replaced these ...

PRIMA DISAPPOINTED

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We will sail with NCL again. This was our 7th cruise (all with NCL) and we have number 8 booked. We had number eight booked on another Prima cruise before this cruise and I have canceled it and rebooked on a Breakaway plus class ship. I can't see us doing another cruise on a Prima class ship. The last five cruises we have gotten the two bedroom and have always enjoyed it. True the second ...

MSC Fantasia Review… A huge disconnect

We sold our house in Canada so that we could travel the world by cruise ships. Our intention is that we could see the world, and report to our followers about the great itineraries, and different ships that are available to travel the world. This blog is about the MSC Fantasia. We boarded it in mid October, 2023 in Barcelona. We will briefly cover what we loved, and what we didn’t love, and ...

Good Cruise, Not a Premium Experience

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

User Avatar

Celebrity has positioned itself as a premium cruise line, but candidly, I'd put it on the same level as RCCL, NCL, and a little above Carnival. Dining - My main concern relates to the quality of fare in the main dining room. The food was well prepared for what it was, but there was a lot of chicken and beef on offer. Unless it was offered on a night when we were in a specialty restaurant, ...

Disappointing

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

My husband and I just returned from a 14-day Transatlantic Cruise aboard the Celebrity Reflection. I have to say that I was more than just a bit disappointed. I am a Celiac Gluten-Free passenger and was assured they were able to accommodate. They were able to accommodate if I wanted to eat the same thing day-in and day-out, every day. The dining room menu is absolutely uninviting for the ...

Cost saving - No chocolates in room on arrival or any nights inc gala night - have they stopped them - No Welcome drinks party from the captain! But was on the Victoria in July and they did the party- so why not now - No Bottle in room Princess grill only half bottle! - Same menus now for last 2 years - Has a chef ...
