Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Allure of the Seas

This may be long but I found very little recent information all in one place in my research prior to departure, so here is a detailed review. We boarded out of Fort Lauderdale and our boarding time was 11:30am, we were told that they enforced this and I understand why, it regulated the flow and reduced large public gatherings (which is quite comical based on later events while on board). The ...

An excellent ship and beautiful scenes for an intense week of exploring

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was my second time on the Epic and third cruise with Norwegian. Cruising is 99% back to normal, with very few COVID restrictions remaining (this took me by surprise). According to the GM at the Q&A session on May 21, we had 3000 passengers and 1500 crew onboard (about 80% capacity). He said they can’t go any higher with the current restrictions, but I am not sure what restrictions are left, ...

Excellent Return to Sailing 18 Night Cruise

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Quest

We were a bit nervous when we learned that our 18 night cruise on the Quest was the first sailing since covid shutdown. However, Seabourn staff did a wonderful job and most things seemed "back to normal". We sailed from Barcelona to Ravenna (a port 2 hour included bus ride from Venice) as large ships can no longer dock in Venice. There was some pre-cruise confusion on check-in, ship board ...

Great family time

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We are a Dutch family of 4 and this was our first cruise ever. For us, this holiday exceeded our expectations. First, of all, there is plenty to do for the whole family. Due to covid, we were informed that the "kids" club was still closed, but we and other passengers were lucky to have the possibility to leave them between 19.00 and 22.00 so mom and dad could have some romantic diner time. ...

First cruise and this ship/crew exceeded all expectations

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was my first cruise I've ever taken and I was blown away. This cruise exceeded all of my expectations. I was really nervous about being on a ship for 11 days for fear of seasickness and it was never a problem. One of the days we couldn't go into port because there were 50 mph winds and the boat rocked a little but I never actually got sick. The ship itself is massive and even after 11 days ...

Best NCL cruise yet - our first in the Haven

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We took the same ship and intinerary in fall 2017 and had a bad medical experience (unrelated to anything on the cruise). So this was a redo. Due to pandemic, prices were crazy low so we booked a two bedroom suite in the Haven. I'm sure that colored our experience quite a bit, but still I found things on the Epic better than the previous time. Start with Covid testing, which was done by the ...

Worst excursion ever

First I would like to say the crew on Norwegian epic was wonderful!! Waited a year and a half just to go on my first cruise with Norwegian. We booked excursions for every port. We were so excited ! We enjoyed all our excursions until our last one to Florence and Pisa. That was the worst experience I’ve ever had on an excursion on any cruise. The tour guide was rude, she constantly put down Pisa ...

Cruised on the Norwegian Star several years ago and really enjoyed the experience on a mid size ship. The cruise itself was pure pleasure with wonderful food and service and great entertainment. The staff did everything in their power to insure that their guests had a great time. The entertainment package provided was first rate and especially enjoyed the big band musical presentations. Since ...

We particularly like the sea days.

As I said, we particularly like cruises with time at sea. Also, I have always wanted to go to Spain, so this was a perfect combination for us. Additionally, The Haven (for us) is worth the additional cost. It's like being on a small ship if you choose to stay in that area, but if you want to enjoy the entertainment that's available on a large ship, you can do that. The Haven Our cabin ...

First TransAtlantic Crossing

We just completed our first Transatlantic Crossing on the Norwegian Star. It was a fabulous trip...and even in November the weather was fantastic...in the hot tub every day. The Star is an older ship but a crew was wonderful. The best port call was Madeira....Due to a storm, we missed the port call at the Azores but they more than made up for it with a final day port call at their private ...
