So a group of 7 girls decided to go on a cruise for one of our friends 40th birthday, only 2/7 people has done a cruise before so it’s an amazing idea on something different to do. We boarded at Barcelona, everything went very smooth, the check in staff were helpful and informative, so sat at the bar waiting to be called. After looking at the info the check in desks give we head into our room, ...
The furnishings in the cabin looked well used.
The ship is getting old but it is still seaworthy.
The staff gave conflicting answers to simple questions asked.
A inexpensive Wi-Fi program was offered to counter the expensive charges on regular internet programs. Unfortunately this program was useless as you could not get your emails.
Some of the water dispensers in the buffet lines ...
Our first Costa cruise ,chosen for the ports that we had not been too. The ship is quite large in good condition, clean, with elaborate decor. Most of previous cruises have been with Royal Caribbean. It has some very different policies. Passengers were mixed mainly Italian French Spanish, only about 250 passengers spoke English, although most staff had reasonable english skills. The most notable ...
6 ports in 10 days plus a rare opportunity to go to an Arab country. The itinerary was fantastic and the ports themselves met my expectations. As for the ship, well, that also met my rather low expectations. I had cruised once when I was much younger and didn't really enjoy the experience of being trapped on a boat with people with questionable hygiene and d-list entertainers (hey, I've lived ...
For perspective, we are an American couple in our 50's. We booked this cruise for the itinerary of almost all places we had never been to before. We are now "empty-nesters" so this was a chance for us to travel off season and enjoy each others company.
We chose to embark on the late side to enjoy some more time in Barcelona. After maybe a 10 minute cab ride from the Duquesa Suites we were at ...
It seemed good value for money but it cost us more in the long run.
Customer care was poor. Small complaints were handled badly & then became Big complaints.
I have discovered that while using the internet on my smart phone for very short times on or near the ship has coast £112 in roaming charges as the calls were through Norway! How would any one know this or is it just another ruse to get ...
My wife and I wanted a good price, port visits to places we had not visited (Genoa, Herculaneum and Valleta, Malta) and a return visit after 30 years or so to Barcelona. We had spent 2 nights on our own long ago in downtown Palermo, but knew there was more to see. Costa offered all the right ports and a good price. MSC Cruises had a much larger ship (3200 passengers vs 2100), visited Rome, not ...
I choose this cruise for the visit to Naples. I was disappointed with the food. too me the buffet was very blan and the dinners where not anything special. If the cooking was Italian at it´s best then I would query this.
The organization was lacking on the cruise.
The cabin was very reasonable.
I thought that the decore of the Ship was very over powering and heavy making you feel very ...
This cruise came up as part of a very cheap package deal including flights and 2 nights in Barcelona. I had read some reviews and my expectations were not high but for the money I wouldn't have complained if we got 2 hammocks above the engines. As it was we got upgraded to a balcony - a first for us, and very nice too.
Most of the complaints I'd read about Costa focused on food and service. ...
We were a little worried due to some of the negative reviews that we read but are very happy that we went - my husband and 7 year old boy. We chose this cruise because we wanted a true European experience and we definitely got it! :) There were only 52 Americans out of the 3800 on board. We also really like the ports that this cruise offered, not the traditional stops. The service as fantastic. ...
