The pool areas are nice, and have retractable roofs in case it rains. It does get a bit hot when the roof is extended.

The Caribbean sunsets were some of the best parts of this cruise. Especially if you got to see them from the top decks while leaving port.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Pacifica

Originally we chose this cruise mainly because of the ports it was due to stop at in Israel, Egypt and Cyprus, but this itinerary was amended when Israel declared war on the Palestinians and these ports were replaced by others in Turkey and Tunisia. This was obviously not the fault of Costa Cruises. Overall we enjoyed the cruise, but not Costa and unfortunately we wouldn't ever travel with them ...

We choose an european cruise for Mediterranean, we expected great food and good service, but was totally different. Always a delay in dining roomn, maitres didnt answer our concerns, the food was bad, really bad, no taste or flavor, all 5 days the same food in breakfast, lunch and dinner. the worst was the service, always slow, waitress always angry no smiling, very unfriendly, they have a lack of ...

The cruise in October was my 65th birthday present to myself and also the itinerary had great appeal, embarking in Barcelona. Interestingly , there were new passengers on a daily basis, so there were new faces most mornings at breakfast.I noticed at least 8-10 wheelchair bound passengers during the seven day trip, fantastic to have such provision for disabled people. For once , the British ...

This was our first tie taking a cruise aboard Costa, although we're not new to cruising. This was my tenth cruise having sailed with NCL, RCC Princess and Cunard previously. We chose this short 5 night cruise as it fell on the dates we were looking at and was really very good value. It was departing Barcelona and took in Palma, Civitavecchia, La Spezia and disembarking in Savona. We weren't sure ...

I'll start with a variation on the traditional Costa opening... We've been on three previous cruises (Princess, NCL, Celebrity) so were a little concerned by some of the reviews of Costa. However, given the timing and the itinerary we decided that we'd give it a go. We're easy going and weren't concerned by English speaking guests being in a minority. Great decision. Arrival and Embarkation: We ...

We travelled as a family of 6, my parents, my husband and I and our 2 children aged 8 & 3. We arrived into Barcelona airport on an early flight, and took a pre-booked transfer to the port with resorthoppa. Well worth the money as it was only 53€, where as two cabs would have set us back near on 70€. Arrived at the port (terminal D) around 10:30, where our luggage was taken from us by Costa crew ...

We had never cruised with Costa before and when my husband discovered he had 2 weeks holiday and Costa had some good deals we booked. My initial reservations were regarding the weather ie the Med in February but my husband thought that after the Concordia incident that Costa would be trying so hard to rebuild their reputation the weather wouldn't matter. How wrong was he! Our previous cruises were ...

Beautiful Ship, Wonderful Itinerary and still a disapointment

The Costa Pacifica is a beautiful ship - clean, nicely decorated, big and well appointed staterooms and suites. When we cruised, the ship had just gotten out of dry-dock a few weeks before and the hull was stark white and really amazingly beautiful to look at. The layout is quite typical of other Fincantieri ships of the same class - a design that works well for cruise ships. I have cruised many ...

What a great experiment

As seasoned cruisers who have travelled extensively on Princess, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean we thought we would take up the superb offer on a Costa Cruise, as an experiment and to compare the cruise lines. We were very pleasantly surprised. I was constantly on the lookout for anything negative but failed to find it. Embarkation at Barcelona: effortless. We simply walked straight up to the desk ...

We like to get away in January. We have previously used Costa Cruises on 4 previous trips and had done the same ( almost ) itinerary once before. Pacifica is known to us as we have sailed on her once before. We booked thro' Cruise Club 1 month before embarkation date as it seemed a bargain. The flight from Newcastle suited us. The arrangements worked well ( Easyjet ) and we arrived in Barcelona on ...
