We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary so chose a longer cruise in a different part of the world than we usually cruise. The flight over meant that we had gone without sleep for over 40 hours before boarding ship. Should have stayed in Barcelona overnight.
The ship was lovely, the wait staff attentive, the drinks prices reasonable, our table mates delightful, and the food excellent. ...
We joined the Solstice on 27 August in Barcelona having travelled from Dublin with Aer Lingus for a 12 night cruise The transfer to the ship was also included (there was a little confusion at the airport to the coach getting all passengers together!) Smooth check in at port and as we have been on the Eclipse and the Equinox we were familiar with the layout of the ship This was a Mediterranean ...
This was our second Celebrity Med cruise in 2 years, last year we cruised the Eastern Med on the Equinox which set a very high bar for the Solstice to reach.
We had two veranda staterooms, which were adjacent but not adjoining so we had the balcony divider removed which made it easy to move from stateroom to stateroom. The stateroom although outwardly clean had some attention to detail issues ...
For our honeymoon hubby and I decided to splurge and have a decadent Mediterranean cruising experience and the Solstice delivered on almost every promise.
Embarkation:
Incredibly smooth and efficient. We organised a Celebrity Suite so we had priority check-in which was smoothly handled. Once we boarded we were handed a glass of bubbly and decided to take advantage of the 20% embarkation day ...
We had a wonderful cruise experience and the vacation of a lifetime on Celebrity Solstice. We traveled to Barcelona 3 days prior to departure and were very glad for the opportunity to overcome jet lag. I would strongly recommend against flying in on the day of the departure- especially traveling East across 7 time zones. In Barcelona, we stayed at Casa de Marcelo, a very small, quaint hotel ...
Last year had a wonderful cruise on Solstice to Venice, so this year it was to be the Greek Islands and Malta. Easy flight from Heathrow to Barcelona and another very good stay at the Hotel Pere IV. Embarkation was as last year, smooth and hassle free. Celebrity certainly have this nailed and I am still truly impressed that they manage it so seamlessly!
Once on board we headed to Cafe Al ...
This cruise was to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we booked Aquaclass and enjoyed it but did not take advantage of it enough to do it again. Our cabin aws very nice and our stateroom attendant was excellent. We like Celebrity overall but the constant "sell" gets a little old.
Most of the shore excursions were great, I was very disappointed in the Venice tours. We took a tour to St. Marks ...
As experienced cruisers with the big cruise lines including Celebrity, we were very comfortable and well served on the Solstice class ship.
The embarkation process was excellent and we did receive the favorable check-in that a suite purchase is promised.
The food as with all Celebrity cruises was excellent and without room for any complaints. The variety in the free dining areas and service ...
We sailed her 3 years ago to the Eastern Mediterranean, and every aspect of our cruise was 5 star and excellent. So, when this Western Mediterranean itinerary came up, we jumped forward and booked this cruise. There were 2 main problems that were both quality related and very disappointing to us.
First, the quality of the food served in the main dining room was declined, and was salty and ...
We have cruised many times but this was our first with Celebrity. We have had only good cruises but some are better than others.....
We flew to Barcelona two days early and enjoyed our stay at Hotel 1898 right on La Rambla. Would highly recommend.
Embarkation-We arrived around 11:30 and found long line. Easily dropped off our luggage with stevedore and joined the line. Fortunately, we were ...
