We choose this cruise based on the ports, length and convenience. And based on this we were satisfied with the cruise and our choice. We have sailed a few times on carnival and found this ship very similar to other carnival ships with services, crew and food.
Impressions:
When you first board the ship you are overwhelmed by the décor which is OLD WORLD design style. At first its jarring ...
This cruise was amazing, it was my dream cruise! I traveled with my mom and dad. It was amazing! It was a new ship with only 2 months sailing before our cruise. You could tell that everything was new since the boat was just beautiful. It was my first cruise but not my parents. It was a busy cruise since we stopped every day except 3 days. So th cruise was a bit tiring but that was because it was ...
My husband and I are Platinum level cruisers and have been on eight different Carnival ships, so we were excited to book the 16 day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to New Orleans leaving Barcelona on November 1, 2013. We enjoyed the cruise but were very disappointed with the ship itself, which we were led to believe was a totally new ship with a name change to prove it. It is not a totally new ...

This is a fairley long review!
We flew to Barcelona from UK. Embarkation was excellent, we took swimwear so we could enjoy the ships facilities straight away. The Serenity is amazing! To have have such quality sunbeds and furniture, (AND adults only!!!) all included in the price was real bonus. This was our 17th cruise in the 9 years but our first experience with Carnival. We had followed the ...
We are a family of 7 (English - 3 of us in their 30’s and 4 in their 50’s and 60’s) who stayed in a hotel in Barcelona the night before (21 euros a night in a Travelodge) and visited Camp Nou on the day of arrival which was great. Definitely recommend arriving the day before to spend some time in Barcelona.
We got a taxi to the ship and was surprised about how smoothly we got on. Most of us were ...
Ok, don't get me wrong here, this was still a cruise, and it was our honeymoon, and we had a great time.
However, it's probably the worse ship we've been on. Except maybe the one where we got bed bugs, maybe.
Down to business:
Food:
Pro: Food was AMAZING. Definitely get the Caribbean chocolate cake, everything else was great as well. The Mahi Mahi on the last night was a bit dry, but it tends ...
To give you an overview on us, I (32) have worked in the Cruise Industry for 7 years and have been lucky enough to experience many ships; both professional and personally, my partner (25) worked on the Disney Dream for 6 months as a youth activities co-coordinator.
I think with many Mediterranean Cruise holidays you can sometimes come back home completely exhausted and the 9 nights on the ...
My husband & I have taken a number of cruises previously but this was the first in the Med & with Carnival.
Excellent/good:
Embarkation at Barcelona was excellent & we both commented on how smoothly it went. The area we had to wait in was very good fresh, airy & with plenty of seating & a cafe.
On Board the food - we tried moston offer, entertainment- we went to several venues & shows & staff - ...
Carnival Sunshine
Western Europe Cruise Review
Firstly, do not pay for the incredibly expensive Carnival transfers. I mistakenly thought the advantage would be that they would check your bags straight through on to the boat etc, but this is not the case - in fact you would get closer the to terminal building and more help with your bags from a taxi. It would also be a fraction of the price. ...
