VIP member with seven past Carnival cruises, I booked the Pride with excitement of another fabulous cruise in a Vista Aft Suite with all kinds of perks, ie Priority Embarkation/Debarkation, laundry, bathrobes, exclusive dining... EMBARKATION: I was denied Priority Embarkation because the line was "closed"????, so I waited in the long line, shared my concerns with a Carnival staff supervisor ...

Cons - The renovation on the Sunshine has not been completed due to the large number of water leaks on the ship. The leaks are plumbing issues. They have removed all seating on the Promenade deck, for relaxation most folks had to seat in the bar areas. Also, except for the rooms, no 120 V outlets European 220 only this will be a problem in US. Interior rooms have no furniture, Carnival please ...

Disappointed with Carnivals attitude

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

Let me start by saying I usually take negative reviews with pinch of salt. We are pretty easy going people. But we were very disappointed with Carnival. Don't get me wrong, we had a great holiday but this was in spite of Carnival not because of them. Our stateroom was number 8115. The first thing that struck me was the position of a large metal casing for the pull down bed. We did not intend to ...

Second time on a Carnival cruise . First time 4 years ago on the Victory and we were so impressed we really wanted to sail with them again. Sometimes it's just best to hold onto a good memory! The sunshine just didnt impress us at all. The cabin stewards were not the usually chirpy friendly chappies (maybe that was just ours) some things we liked a but overall we'd give it 4/10. The main problem ...

My family decided to take this cruise for my parents 30th wedding anniversary that coincides with my sister and mothers birthday. We had no children it was my parents, myself and my sister and her husband. The itinerary was amazing but we were warned in advance that you get what you pay for and that carnival had a reputation and it certainly lived up to it. We arrived in Barcelona and the check ...

Ship: Carnival Sunshine Embarkation: Barcelona, Spain Debarkation: Barcelona, Spain Nights: 12 Ports: Monaco, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice, Messina Carnival has had lots of problems recently, on both their own line and on Costa, which they own. They hired a reckless captain who killed innocent passengers in Italy. They stranded ship after ship without power, leaving ...

Great Cruise port Itinerary - Ship & crew is work in progress

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

Had a good time on the cruise, however the ship had maintenance issues was pretty much like a low rate hotel with new employees. If you are going for the ports you won’t be disappointed if the ship is your destination you should pass. We went on June 28 and I believe this was the 6th sailing of the ship since it was remodeled. This was my wife’s and families 7th cruise. Embankment went well ...

Carnival Sunshine - A NO-GO for us

Now let me back up a bit. We were first booked for our cruise aboard the Carnival Sunshine, due to depart on April 26th from Barcelona and end in Venice. This was to be a 9 day cruise and we were to stay an extra day at each end. I had spent a tremendous amount of time booking the ‘perfect hotels and off-shore tours’. Well imagine our surprise when my husband, who would keep up with the ...

Having never cruised with Carnival before, we chose the newly refurbished Sunshine, formerly the Carnival Destiny, because of the itinerary. After spending three wonderful days in Barcelona, we set out to board the ship and looked forward to going to Marseilles, Florence, Rome, Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice overnight, and Messina before returning to Barcelona. Embarkation was surprisingly ...

We have been loyal Carnival customers for 16 years. We are VIP. In other words it would be very hard to make us un-happy. Well cangratulations Carnival you did it. This was the worst Carnival cruise we have ever taken. To begin at the beginning. The embarkation in Barcelona was awfull. Being VIP was supposed to get you on reasably early. NOT. We were one of the last to get on the ship. ...
