Good Week on the Magic

This was our first time in Europe, so we didn't know what to expect. Embarking was pretty fast and easy. The terminal in Barcelona is nice and modern. The ship I personally found was very nice and modern. I know a lot of people say it's tacky and cheap but I didn't feel this way about it. It was very clean and the public spaces were nice and open. The buffet was always very good, and the dining ...

5-STAR Service - Beautiful Ship!

Excellent cruise. Monaco port was closed on first day of cruise itinerary due to bad storms, so Captain reversed itinerary and we had a Day at Sea then started at Messina and finally the last port was Monaco! It was nice that the cruise still saw all the ports. Service was stellar. Been on 6 cruises in the last 10 years, majority with Carnival. All employees were exceptional and met any needs. ...

Ship layout did not suit us.

It was the wrong time for us to cruise. We are in our 60's and July 2011 was school holiday time and there were many children on board. Children running up the hallways while we had a nap was disturbing. Trying to dance on the dance floor with toddlers running around was dangerous to the kids. This was a 12 night cruise but on 4 nights there wasn't a show instead we had passengers called onto ...

This was my first cruise, in what will hopefully be one of many. I traveled with a family group of 8. To start off, the embarkation onto the boat was flawless. Even though it has been noted that you could not board until 11:30, we had made the mistake of booking a cab too early (or so we thought) and arrived at the port an hour early. I was chagrined to see lines upon lines of people ...

Good way to see Italy if you're paid in US dollars

I booked this cruise over a year ago when I saw the prices that Carnival charged that were much lower than we had paid before with Costa or other advertised cruises. The best deal is the 2-port hole cabin for the inside cabin price. There's only about 6 forward cabins with the port holes. We wanted to see more of Italy and if you're paid in US dollars this is about the cheapest way to do ...

Fantastic First Time Cruise in Magical Med

Food & Drink We thought the main restaurant (Northern Lights) in which we ate every evening was very good. We opted for the flexible time dining option and found this suited us well, as some of our excursions didn't get back until quite late. Both the food and service in the restaurant were good, I especially enjoyed the lobster and shrimp on the Elegant night, and the steaks. The melting ...

Went on Carnival Magic for a seven night cruise in July with my hubby and 16 year old daughter. It was our first cruise and we only booked a 7 night cruise just in case we hated it. My husband was not looking forward to the cruise as he thought it would be like being on holiday in the Trafford Centre ( large shopping Mall in UK) we spent a week in Spain prior to the cruise ...

Had a lot of fun, despite some Carnival shortcomings

We sailed on the Carnival Magic from July 17 to 24. We are a family of four and this was our third cruise as a family in the last three years. We booked extended aft cabins, with our teenagers in the cabin next to us. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the cruise. There are aspects to Carnival of which I'm not terribly fond, but there are other things they do that make their cruises ...

A bit of background, we have cruised with Princess, Celebrity, NCL, Cunard and RCL. Our children are 15 and 13. We didn't choose the cruise for the itinerary as we have visited all the ports except Sciliy before. We were keen to try Carnival as we had heard good things and the boat looked to have lots of child friendly features. We spent 4 days in Barcelona before the cruise which we enjoyed, ...

The Magic Was Missing

We travelled as two parties - one couple with kids (12yo and 10yo) from Queensland and the grandparents from Canberra. Both parties booked through Worldwide Cruise Centre, an Australian company, which went MIA once the money was paid. Had to remind them to send the tickets (they went missing in their office); no flexibility regarding the pre-cruise hotel in Barcelona, even though we were willing ...
