My wife and I were traveling with our 8 and 6-year old daughters. This was our 20th cruise, 4th on Carnival (last in 2003). We've sailed mostly on RCI and Celebrity.
Below are our impressions of the ship, preceded by a link to a video tour of the ship that I filmed while onboard.

Highlights for us:
- Itinerary: This 12-night ...
Embarkation: Very well organized and quick.
Balcony Suite: Roomy and spacious. NOTE: We thought there was a problem with our AC and called maintenance. They said it was normal as it was set at 72 degrees. We were very warm in the room and it never got very cold. So if you are hot natured - this will be very uncomfortable for you
Food: MDR - Southern Lights: 6 out of 10. Italian restaurant: ...
We had a wonderful nine day cruise on the Carnival Magic. I want to preface my comments by saying our cruise was the trip of our lifetimes. While we are used to slightly higher level of service this cruise was an incredible value. We got far more value than what we paid.
I have so many comments to give that I will break them up. While we had a very good time I will start with perhaps the end of ...
Me and my Girlfriend sailed on the 12-night voyage on the Med departing 14th August 2011 from Barcelona.
Firstly..... the ports of call. We have visited a number of the ports of call previously so on some days opted to take advantage of having the ship to ourselves.
Monaco - Did the hop-on-hop-off bus tour for 17EUR pp. This was a great way to see all of the sights in Monaco and ...
I booked this cruise as a gift for my daughter's high school graduation. It was the first cruise for both of us. Overall, we were thrilled with how the trip turned out. One thing I'll say right off the top is that this is the way to explore Europe for people who aren't travel-savvy. It was fantastic to have a home-base in the ship. After a day of struggling through language barriers and ...
Although the Magic is new this year it is not radical and its layout will be familiar to anyone who has sailed on the Carnival Conquest and subsequent ships. Whilst familiarity is reassuring perhaps the time has come for Carnival to consider something more radical? Changes made from recent ships such as the Freedom are mostly related to increasing cabin capacity with the Lido deck being on level ...
It was very exciting to visit all the exciting Europe for the first time, and very exhausting as well. My cousin and I had to fly in the day of because of a wedding... big mistake. Despite all the warnings from the experts on the boards, we kept our flight plans just to accommodate the wedding.. never again! Delta airlines @ JFK airport in NYC didn't process our tickets properly, so when we ...
Good points:
1. Children's programming seems quite good.
2. Housekeeping staff keep the cabins very clean and tidy.
3. Three coin laundries for guest use.
4. Section of deck dedicated for adults (no children) so adults can get away from noise.
5. Nice water slide (although need to increase water volume because you can feel seems in tubes as you are passing through)
6. Plenty of ...
Carnival Magic cruise in Western Mediterranean was a wonderful trip and great way to explore Europe. The cruise was great way to have housing at night and all the food you can muster during the day. I don't want to rehash all that was mentioned before - so here are my summaries:
Staterooms - we had balcony room on 6 - the rooms were large and comfortable. Staff kept everything well kempt ...
I traveled on this cruise with my fiancE (DF) and this was our first trip to Europe. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean twice (Oasis/Liberty), Holland America once (Eurodam), but this was my first Carnival Cruise. In addition, my DF cruised Carnival and Celebrity in the past, but this was our first Mediterranean and European Cruise. I tend to like newer Ships and always wanted to visit Europe so ...
