Just OK

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on MSC Poesia

While the ship offered a wonderful itinerary overall the cruise itself was just ok. 14 days out of Barcelona hitting 10 counties was a wonderful draw for us. Boarding was seamless and quick and we basically were able to walk right on and directly to our room. Food was just ok, nothing to rave about but you didn't go hungry. Entertainment was below average, I have seen better at a high school ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Mars

Only 2nd ocean cruise with Viking. Trip in 2017 was seamless. Not this time. Even though Viking was generous to give us full refunding with additional funds for re-booking our 2019 trip, the trip had serious problems. Firstly, booking us on Air Canada through Toronto to Barcelona was a terrible choice. Over 30 passengers were stranded because Air Canada had a 3 hour delay forcing most of us ...

Disappointing cruise

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Viking Jupiter

Selected this cruise because of promotional brochure indicating interesting ports of call. Promotional material didn't properly identify that many ports on this cruise were for a limited time, less than day, which made the cruise much less enjoyable and disappointing. Wouldn't have taken it if had known this fact. Scheduled for two days in Barcelona and left after first evening. Afternoon or ...

Partial days in ports disappointed

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Viking Jupiter

We chose the cruise primarily for the itinerary - ports in Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and Denmark. Before booking and paying for your cruise, Viking does not identify ports where you will have only a partial day to explore. A full day in Barcelona after embarkation was cancelled and we spent a day at Tarragona, a beautiful stop but not Barcelona. We only had partial days (6 hours) in ...

Not bad, not Seabourn's best ever

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seabourn Encore

Our 7th Seabourn cruse, first on the new Encore-size which carries about 150 more passengers than the previous 'Odyssey' class. We were on for 14 nights, most passengers were on 7 night cruises and the ship was full, so that made it a very busy cruise for the staff. The ship is beautiful as the Odyssey class ships were, very much the same style. The suite was super, everything on the whole ...

In all fairness, I will begin by the positive. One of the newer Seabourn vessels, the Encore is in great shape. Having sailed over 200 days on the line, many of the typical Seabourn standards were present right away at embarkation. Walking through the hallways we were always greeted by the big smiles of the housekeeping staff who are always busy, busy, busy. The service in the main dining room ...

Pork cruise

We sailed on the Encore last summer and looked forward to our next cruise this June. At every meal the featured meal involved pork whether carved or stewed. In general the food quality took a dive even in the dining room. If there is a meat quality less than choice it seems like it was served. In the Collonade resturant the service was poor and often ran out of the food specialty of the evening. ...

Not quite as good as before

Have been on Seabourn a few times and decided to take our grown up family on this trip What should have been a super holiday was let down somewhat by mediocre service. On our previous trips with the line this has been their strong suit but not this time. We were on recently in October and it felt like being on a different ship. The restaurant staff are always polite but there was a sense of a lack ...

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Viking Star

User Avatar

We had previous experience with a 15 day river cruise in 2014 from Budapest to Amsterdam. Wanted to see if the Ocean going cruise would be as great. Had researched many cruise lines and the single most item why we choose Viking was the previous river cruise and the fact this Viking ship did not carry as many passengers as the other cruise lines. We were looking forward to seeing many different ...

Mediterranean Odysee - Super Service, Tough Excursions.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

This cruise went from and to all the places we had not been to in the Mediterranean and we had heard so much about Viking "hospitality." We changed from a Viking River Cruise from Amsterdam to this cruise. I would caution anyone signing up for a Viking excursions to do their research on what the meaning of their "moderate" is. We, unfortunately, signed up for two full day excursions early in ...
