This was our first long cruise having taken mini cruises before. The ship is impressive but staff appeared miserable and demotivated. We loved dressing up, the for in The Peninsular freedom dining was fantastic. We did pay to eat at both Sindhu and Limelight, "Morcambe & Wise" were superb both but food was disappointing. We had booked before arriving on board but no tables were reserved, we ...
First time on a small ship (146 passengers on a ship that holds 212) and did not miss the "floating city" experience of past larger ship cruises. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive and the service was 1st class. Very much enjoyed the population size of the small cruise ship and the opportunity to get to know many of our fellow passengers.
The cabins were very comfortable and ...
THIS IS OUR 7TH CRUISE BUT FIRST WITH P&O. Ship is outstanding but evening theatre shows were disappointing with only one show every other night!!! Service in restaurant was very average and you waited up to 40 minutes to receive a glass of wine with your evening meal. The staff just didn't know what they were doing, had no customer service skills and were unfriendly at times, even abrupt with ...
Charter flight from Manchester to Barbados was ok - not having to collect luggage in Barbados was a bonus. Embarkation was very swift and friendly.Cabin was clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space for clothes and luggage. Bathroom was fairly small but functional with nice toiletries and always plenty of clean towels. The toilet made a horrendous noise when flushed and we were afraid of ...
I have enjoyed very special times on the good ship that is the Braemar but my last cruise was such a big disappointment in so many ways, the company to me has changed so much and I have to say not for the better. The Fred Olsen policy to me now seems pack em' in and get as much money as possible from each and every one. The present management that has taken over has changed the Fred Olsen company ...
Just completed a Car'bean cruise on the Braemar, the flights both ways were pretty good with Monarch but have flown charter with F/O before and think Tui was much better particularly the in flight food.
The cruise itself was great, embarkation at Manchester and Barbados very good, ports good but Cuba a little dissapointing not being at Havana, but not a major issue. The food excellent and service ...
We have travelled several times with P and O and have always enjoyed it . The Ventura is a large ship with lots of separate areas .
Our cabin was on C deck which has extra large balconies . This is really useful in the Caribbean heat as it gives an area of shade and it's possible to stretch out comfortably . All the staff on P and O work tirelessly and are very polite and welcoming . Each cabin ...
Have never sailed on a ship like this. Have been on much larger cruises and smaller sailing ships. The Royal Clipper was just fabulous. The cabins are very nice ( ours was grade 3 with a nice bathroom and shower, TV, good hairdryer and comfy bed) but we saw the luxury ones which had a private veranda and whirlpool bath which looked very nice indeed. It's got a nice gym and 3 small pools on the top ...
Just returned from a Ventura cruise and was hugely disappointed. The staff are delightful and very caring but the standards have dropped rock bottom. No silver service in the dining rooms which we were not aware of until we were on board, no mention of this in the brochure. Bay Tree restaurant the food was awful we only ate there three times out of the whole cruise.
Self service was okay but ...
This is the first and last time we will cruise with P & O is the strap line for this review, the content is our honest opinions having cruised in excess of thirty times with Celebrity, RCL, Princess and Cunard.
We were looking for a quality itinerary for the New Year period and at least on this front we were not disappointed, with the likes of St Kitts, St Marten, Bonaire, Dominica, St Lucia and ...
