Worst Ever Cruise Experience

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Marella Discovery

We choose this cruise for the destinations, we did two weeks back to back Tropical Shores & Cocktail & Coconuts. The destinations didn’t disappoint and Dominica was the highlight. However the onboard experience was the worst we have ever had. If you don’t mind bad food and like to drink a lot you will probably love it. It felt like Wetherspoons at Sea but that would be doing Wetherspoons ...

Booked a smaller ship thinking that overcrowding wouldn’t be as big of a problem as in past cruises. Boy, was I wrong, and add to that a dated jalopy of a ship to spend a week on. Don’t waste your money on this pile of garbage unless you like the hum and flicker of CFL light bulbs that *might* work if you’re lucky. One of them in our stateroom was like a strobe light and two other lights just ...

Butlins-on-sea

Memorable cruise but unfortunately memorable for all the wrong reasons, if you’re looking for a cruise with good food, luxury accommodation, excellent service, then do not book this. Butlins has more quality than this cruise. Food was typical British like Bacon, eggs and baked beans for breakfast. Buffet at dinner had a lot of choice but wasn’t the best quality, cold food and over cooked. If ...

First Marella Cruise ,It started badly with a cabin move despite booking a deluxe balcony cabin September 2021 we were moved to an alternative deluxe balcony cabin minus sofa coffee table and fridge offered £50 compensation, for cabin change and £50 per person for missing furniture all added to our ship board account ( on an all inclusive cruise ) which we found very difficult to spend. The food in ...

The "Covid" cruise

We chose TUI because it included their flights to and from Barbados, also we had sailed on this cruise ship a few years ago and had a fairly good cruise. The flight was delayed at Gatwick due to some passengers packing lithium batteries in their hold luggage, all bags had to be off loaded and the offending batteries removed. That caused a delay of well over an hour. The flight was uneventful and ...

In rather unfortunate circumstances, my partner tested positive for COVID at the cruise terminal in Barbados. We were meant to sail on the 30/01/22 on board Grandeur of the Seas. On our day of boarding we arrived at the port terminal for our allotted time and completed our rapid antigen COVID tests as expected. Unfortunately my partner, tested positive, but I tested negative. A further 2 ...

Good points The food and cabin where reasonable, the lady cleaning the cabin was excellent. The Headliners entertainment was excellent. Bad Points. The ship is in need of a make over, The main swimming pool area reminded us of the comedy programme Benidorm, with the towels on sun beds and nobody using the beds, the drone of dated music, kids running and jumping in the pool when signage ...

We chose this cruise because it ticked a number of boxes with regards to islands visited, we boarded the ship on the 27th December 2019, the boarding process was very efficient. The first issue we had was the aircon did not work in the cabin, we informed our cabin boy and also reception, it took two further days and a number of calls and requested before I had to insist someone visited to the ...

Thankfully near the End of this cruise. If you only speak English this is not the cruise line for you. Flights sat me and my partner in different rows. On Board food has been the most bland we have had on any cruise. Most of the time cold. I have being with 5 different cruise lines. Sports bar no English sports. Tv in cabin no English channel. Done a tour ticked the English box whole tour in ...

Dreadful cabin

For warm Caribbean weather. Great staff on board, lovely passengers. Mediocre food. Dreadful cabin on deck 14 immediately under pool deck where noisy activities, night and day. No respite from silly sail away parties to late night revels. Crew banging heavy items around late night and very early morning. Very poor entertainment. All the music was geared up to a younger generation than the ...
