It is what it is, and nothing more or less.

Review for Carnival Victory to Caribbean - Southern

I needed a solo getaway and this was the cheapest cruise I could find. As you can guess, my expectations were low. I was mostly pleasantly surprised. My cabin had recently been redone and the bed was comfy. I wasn't into the entertainment except the comedy club which I enjoyed. A fair degree of chair hogging and table hogging by other passengers, so it was hard to find a place to be on the ...

Great 1st Time Cruise

Review for Carnival Victory to Caribbean - Eastern

We picked the Carnival Victory based on the great itinerary it provides, calling at 6 different ports on a 7 day cruise of the Caribbean. We boarded the ship in Barbados which was great as only around 100 passengers get to board the ship there. So it was a lot more calmer than boarding in San Juan were the rest of the 2700 passengers do. Boarding the cruise for the 1st time was a breeze, we ...

We are first time cruisers. We chose this cruise line more for affordability and the itinerary as we had to take our teenage children with us. Next time we will definitely upgrade our cruise if only paying for 2 adults. There was a need for more affluent company. We boarded the ship in Barbados with fellow UK cruisers. Our holiday package included 2/3 days in Barbados, which we recommend ...

Carnival Victory - April 2012

This was our first cruise and much anticipated. We boarded in Barbados where only about 50 passengers seem to board compared with the 2000 or so in San Juan. Check in was slow despite so few passengers and it took us an hour from arriving in the dining room and collecting our number, to being given our sail and sign cards. We couldn't see why it was so slow, despite 5 or so staff checking in ...

I honestly do not know where to start! That 1st view from the taxi as we approached the harbour? Amazing, breathtaking!! It was huge!! Getting from the taxi to the ship must've taken all of 5mins! Unfortunately, once onboard we were holed up in a dining room where it took an hour to clear the customs, not a huge problem unless you are as excited as a 12yr old and just want to explore!! When we ...

We went to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and our friends 40th anniversary expecting to have a wonderful time unfortunately it was anything but! First mishap was we were given wrong dining times and refused to change it, despite written confirmation of the times we requested. Consiquently placed on top corner of dining room completely excluded from rest of the dining room. Food we ...

My partner (38) and I (28) travel once (sometimes twice) a year on vacation. I am a hotel Asst. GM and he is a Marketing Officer for a tour company. We live in Barbados and as Carnival Victory now home ports in Barbados as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico we thought we would take advantage of boarding straight from home - no flights necessary :o). This is my third Carnival Cruise and his second. We ...

A Victorious vacation

This was our fourth cruise, all with carnival and in my opinion it was the best yet! We joined the ship in Barbados as it was cheaper to fly to Barbados than San Jaun from Calgary. We chose this cruise for it's many ports and it did not disappoint. We booked our own air and pre-cruise hotel. We arrived on Monday, March 8. We were delayed for four hours in Toronto due to mechanical issues with the ...

Flew to Barbados with Virgin Atlantic (Tinker Belle) from Gatwick in premium economy I really feel this upgrade is worth the extra if you have the funds but the economy cabin on Virgin Atlantic is pretty good anyway. We stayed for 3 days at a hotel (Almond Casuarina Beach) then joined the ship for a 7 day cruise. The cruise actually starts in San Juan, Puerto Rico but mostly English holiday ...

After spending 3 lovely days on the beautiful island of Barbados, we embarked on the Victory at the Port of Barbados, a painless process, very quick and easy, both on and off at the end of our voyage. What we didn't anticipate and weren't advised by Virgin Travel was having to disembark at Puerto Rico to go through US Immigration and Customs and then queue with all those joining the ship at San ...
