Good value for money, but does P&O care?

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Britannia

This was our first P&O cruise so tried to keep an open mind and not try to compare with the other companies that we have used. The flight from Birmingham and transfer at Barbados worked well even though we didn’t have our luggage before we went for dinner. We originally opted for Club Dining first sitting and because we only booked 4 weeks before sailing we did not get a table for 2 but were ...

Felling more downmarket every year, despite getting more expensive!

Booked last year on Board, after a New year cruise, we had some concerns that P&O were cutting everything whilst trying to attract a different client group, but we decided to give it a chance! the result was a mixed bag: The Good: Britannia is still an impressive ship and generally feels spacious, she handles roughish seas quite well. Lots of people made the effort on Celebration night to ...

Cruised 4 years ago on Britannia. Not holidayed for 4 years so decided to return. The standards on this ship have dropped. Staff seemed unhappy. Cleanliness was terrible and unlike previous cruises where they would help you, everything seemed too much trouble. We had a premium deluxe balcony cabin. The cabin itself was good but cleanliness was not up to standards of previous ships. We ...

Some good, but a lot to improve

We sailed on a Christmas Cruise for the first time in 2023 on P&O Britannia, influenced by seeing Britannia docked alongside Carribean Princess (on which we were sailing) in February 2019. The crowd on the ship seemed to be having a great time, and the people we chatted to on the dockside recommended the ship. So, the first dispapointment is that we discovered the "Great British Sailaway" has ...

Britannia - the ship for people who want to forget they're on a ship!

Tl;dr: Britannia is the ship for people who want the cruise experience while forgetting they're on a ship; beautifully decorated but strangely designed and lacking the service level you'd expect if you've previously sailed with P&O (though I want to believe this is due to specific problems P&O are currently facing which will be resolved in time). The flight to Barbados and embarkation process ...

Very Disappointed by P&O

We got a very good last minute deal on Britannia otherwise P&O wouldn’t have been our first pick to cruise with. If the itinerary, weather and local people hadn’t have been so brilliant we’d have been totally gutted! Food was a major disappointment. Really small portions of bland and under seasoned food in the MD Rooms. Buffet was the smallest offering I’ve ever seen at sea! First time we’ve ...

Very average, not what I expect from P&O

Have cruised with P&O since 2004, and can unhappily say that this cruise was the most disappointing and not up to the standards I expected. On the plus side, it is still an advantage to have the flights included which means you don't have to collect your luggage at the arrival airport, you are taken straight from the plane to the port, next time you see your luggage is in your cabin, and on ...

Having been on a few Caribbean cruises previously with P&O (on Ventura and Azura) we thought we knew what to expect when venturing onto Britannia a few weeks ago…. The flight out from Gatwick on the TUI Dreamliner was great as expected and also it was a very smooth operation on getting registered etc at the port and getting onto the ship to get our cruise cards etc. Our suitcases also arrived ...

Do not be put off by the 3*.

Walk on board it’s dark and colourless, drab dark wood walls, and following COVID an awful lot of formalities. Spend a day or so, with an open mind. It will grow on you. The staff, seem hand picked to please you. The food, if repetitive over a few weeks, is good, really good. If you are of an age, go to the main dinning rooms for proper service. The buffet for quick and easy, mount your plate ...
