Stumbles on Regent Mariner

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

A great itinerary in Southeast Asia. This was my fifth Regent cruise, and found the overall experience very good, but slipped from past Regent Cruises. Ship recently refurbished and very attractive. Would have rated it excellent, but for the dining experience, which I found to have slipped compared to previous Regent cruises. Menu in the Compass Rose was adaquate, not particularly creative. ...

Mostly great

Review for a Asia Cruise on Nautica

Start with the food....great but quality tends to drop as they get farther away from resupply. The cabins are small just like all the old one renaissance ships and well designed but the bathrooms are REALLY small. The service is way above average and the cruise director and entertainment staff are unusually happy and make things go well. Now for the unpleasant, the excursion staff might be the ...

Wonderful Cruise with a Few Stumbles

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

We booked this cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary and all in all it was a wonderful trip, a trip of a lifetime. We saw so many beautiful and wonderful places, and met many wonderful people. Our Regent experience was, with a few notable exceptions, as good as the one 7 years ago in the Mediterranean. I will bullet point the positive and negatives below, and have, of course, given these to ...

Before we left for our trip, we were notified at the last minute of a port change from Tianjin to Incheon, Korea. Thankfully, this did not affect our plans as we weren't flying home until Sunday, March 6th. After staying in Bangkok for a few days, we boarded the Nautica (Klong Tooey port) for our 3 week journey. The ship was nicely appointed but really small size -wise. My husband really was put ...

Beautiful Ship, Fantastic Service, Very Good Food

Nautica is kept in very good nick, deck 7 concierge cabin small but manageable..just, crew well trained and cleverly rehearsed. Entertainment led by Skeggy man Nolan good. Food was really really on the button with the terrace cafe the real star.It was good to see the Exec Chefs front of house presence, a real example to Rafael and his team who hardly made an appearance let alone stop and talk ...

Viking Mekong needs new ship; terrible!

Our 21 day tour began in Bangkok and ended Cambodia at Angkor Wat. The guides and service staff were outstanding. The tours were interesting, however, they did not include a downtown tour of the city of Bangkok. It would have been much more interesting to see this city than do the railroad market. The tours left a lot to be desired in regard to seeing life in the larger cities. I grew up on a farm ...

My husband being a Vietnam vet decided to fly from LAX to Vietnam via EVA air. We spent 4 days in DaNang Vietnam prior to flying to Thailand for this cruise. In Vietnam we stayed at the Hagl in DaNang. We did an open air jeep tour with looking glass jeep tours & another tour up to Hue w/Ann Tours. Both tours were fantastic. We then flew to Bangkok where we were picked up by BAT (Bangkok airport ...

Introduction to Asia

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

This was our third Princess cruise, having previously visited the Baltic and Mediterranean. We looked upon it as a chance to see many Asian ports briefly and then decide to perhaps revisit one or more for a longer stay eventually. This was a very good Asian sampler, especially with the addition of a Tokyo stopover on the way home. We arrived in Bangkok two days early and would really recommend ...

We began our long flight on Thursday morning, November 9, 2006 from Indianapolis, Indiana, flying through Chicago, then to Tokyo, then onto Bangkok, Thailand. We were lucky enough to have business class air on American Airlines for the 15 hour flight from Chicago to Bangkok. It was wonderful. American Airlines treated us very well and we were rested and relaxed when we got to Tokyo. We then ...
