My wife and I took our first cruise and had an excellent time on the Carnival Pride. The ship was delayed 2 hours and embarkation was not pleasant. We were given very little information and waited in line an extremely long time. We had previously tried to sign up for FTTF but that option was sold out ( do it early ! ). Once we boarded things improved quite a bit. We were on deck 6 with a balcony. ...
My wife and I booked this cruise based on her limited availability and a port within driving distance. We had never cruised Carnival before but the price was good and it seemed like a good itinerary.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and felt we got good value for our money. The staff was excellent, professional, cheerful and hard working. The ship was surely older, but the room was big, ...
This was my 8th cruise. 3 with Royal Caribbean (LOVE LOVE LOVE)....and 5 (including this one) with Carnival. Up until this cruise, I would have recommended Carnival to anyone..but that has changed drastically. This cruise - from the planning stages through the actual cruise itself was a series of disappointments and deep frustrations with a cruiseline who had no respect for their customers, who ...
I choose this cruise to celebrate my birthday, and the convenience of leaving from close to home. This is one of the smaller ships we have been on, it was very nice, but showing its aging in different areas. One of them were the pool and hot tub areas. Very hard for anyone a little older to get in and out of them.
The food was good, nothing exceptional, we went to 2 specialty restaurants, ...
I will start with a little back-round, we are Diamond cruisers with over 17 cruises behind us. We prefer drive up ports due to luggage and usually purchasing large amounts of alcohol to bring back with us. We are active people and like to get involved in various activities going on every day, and enjoy the MDR and Entertainment each night. That being said, this was one the the best cruises we have ...
This was my 33rd cruise -- a 25th anniversary gift from my mother. She chose this cruise because it was a great bargain, and we prefer a smaller ship without the bells and whistles. We live on Long Island, so Baltimore is only 3 hours away. We have sailed on Carnival, Celebrity, Holland America, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean, with the most cruises on Royal Caribbean.
Embarkation was so easy! ...
This was a family first time cruise with a group of 18. We didn't know what to expect when picking ships so we went with the Grander. When first boarding the ship you could tell that this was a very OLD ship with a lot of use. We had 5 children teenagers who could not find any other children on board to hang out with. The teens club was very old and boarding they were to say to us. They spent most ...
The port in Baltimore had organized embarkation and debarkation. I was not prepared for the VERY long uphill walk to the ship. Using a cane, it was difficult. The up-selling began before the long walk to the ship and continued throughout the cruise. That was a huge turn off.
We came out on the 4th floor about 11 AM and had lunch later at the Park Cafe near the Solarium on deck 9. Our suite was ...
This was our 3rd family cruise. First two were on the Disney cruise line - so Disney will be my basis of comparison. Our traveling party included my wife and I, our 17 year old daughter, our 25 year old son and his friend. We had two staterooms on the 7th deck. The expectation for a cruise is that everything is perfect - so I wont elaborate on all of the good things....only those that were ...
We traveled from our home on Long Island to Baltimore by Amtrak, which wasn't bad, total time about 4 hrs and, stayed overnight at the Residence Inn Marriot ,than took a cab to the pier , I little bit of a pain because of hauling the luggage ,but doable. Since we were cruising in a suite and are diamond members embarkation was painless, no waiting in line we were on the ship in 10 minutes.
