This was my wife and I's honeymoon and first cruise and it was amazing. Priceline gave us a hotel discount and we stayed right downtown near the aquarium, which looked amazing and we instantly decided we should come back with the kids, Baltimore is a great downtown. Our first night on the ship we went to Davids Steakhouse the first night and were treated to a complimentary bottle of wine with one of the most amazing meals I've had in my life. I felt like I was in a movie or something with how the food was artfully presented. The rest of the cruise we ate in the Normandy restaurant where we tended to order at least 3 appetizers to sample the fares that are much fancier then what shows up in our household. The portions do seem small but the staff always encouraged us to order whatever and however much of whatever we wanted. There is always the buffet to select from as well, and lines were never really that bad at any time to get the food. My wife and I didn't try the pizza till the last day when it was the only thing left open and were blown away at some of the best hand tossed pizza we've ever had. The decor of the ship is out of this world, in some of the pictures we had seen it appeared as though it might be tacky but it really wasn't. This is after all a ship so the surroundings were just extra treatments that let us know we were on some serious vacationing. There are lots of windows and we never felt claustrophobic or trapped which my wife was a little worried about. As it was our honeymoon we booked a room at the aft of the ship, cabin 4232, standard 185 sq ft. layout with extended balcony. We were right near the flag but they only fly it while in port so it never bothered us really, Cabin service was amazing, our steward was seen very frequently and always greeted us by name with a smile. We took a gel air freshener for the bathroom but it wasn't really smelly to begin with, it could have been. Our bed was nice and firm and the blankets comfortable. There really wasn't much noise except for the sound of the slamming door to the balcony from our neighbors. Shower water pressure was good and the hot never ran out. We didn't do any of the excursions. We stayed on the boat while in Port Canaveral where my wife got a discount on a spa package and I lounged around the Serenity pool sipping pina coladas. In Nassau we forged our own excursion starting with getting drinks because you can walk around with them, then we headed to the Queens Staircase and the ruins of the forts left over from the pirate days. Really for the history buffs, there isn't much to do beyond take in the historical significance of the site and stand on the same ground. We took a cab back towards the port where the driver pointed out some notable sites and dropped us off at the straw market where we strolled around for souvenirs before grabbing another cab to a local recommended local eatery for a taste of the conch we had heard about. The cabby dropped us off at a little hut like building in a row of hut like eating places, I was instantly worried about the Bahamas version of Montezuma's Revenge but the fried conch they served was amazing and washed down well with a local brewed Kalik beer. It was then time to head back to the boat, we left plenty of time to stroll back so I went ahead and took up the offer to purchase a few most likely bogus cuban cigars, they were still a good smoke while lounging on the private balcony we had. We also walked by the pirate museum but didn't end up going in, I think it was closing up by that point but it looked to be as much store as museum. We got off in Freeport and grabbed a cab to a beach, but to be honest the port call is pretty short and by the time the cabby filled the van to capacity and dropped us off at the destination, it was only just enough time to walk 20-30 minutes to the beach, get our feet wet in the water and take a few pictures and it was time to head right back to the boat. There is shopping right off the boat in Freeport we could've gotten souvenirs from. Freeport seemed mostly industrial until you got to the resort areas which were not at all near the docks. We had no problems getting on or off the ship, they are pretty proficient at moving the crowds through the security and back onto the boat, even when checking in the duty free rum purchases. Entertainment on the boat was really good but they can get crowded. The show schedule does repeat shows so there is more opportunities to catch them, but we did catch a stand up act and one of the main performances standing against a wall. I particularly like the stand up and if you sit in the front rows you will probably end up part of the act. There is almost always a band playing at any one of the bars and lounges. Even dining in the Normandy is entertaining as they tend to do a little song and dance number each evening that was always endearing. Read Less

We have taken an annual cruise for the last 3 years, every time with Royal Caribbean as a result of the benefits of the loyalty program, the ease of port accessibility and most specifically the quality of the dining room and food services staff. Having a food allergy dining services is important and RCL's dining services is seen to be the best on any of the cruise lines. Unfortunately, dining can only account for so much when incompetence, negligence and a sheer disregard for health and well being comes in to play. Within the first few hours of our so-called vacation we noticed our sheets were filthy upon arriving in the room. We informed the housekeeper and she replaced the bedding. It was still dirty with notable yellow stains on the pillow cases. We went to guest services and on the third attempt it looked ok for that day (there were yellow stains all over the sheets with hair everywhere). The following day we had more issues of the same nature and guest services sent the supervisor to change the linens. The pillows were filthy and the supervisor said he changed strictly one bed sheet as we had not specifically stated that every piece of linen needed to be changed. He said to get ALL linens changed we had to specifically request every item by name. Again, they sent someone to change the linens and we came back to what looked to be blood stains on the pillow cases. At this point we were fed up so we asked the housekeeper for a pillow case. She pulled it right off the cart and hair fell out of it- apparently there's an issue with their cleaning on board! We gave all the items to guest services. The deck supervisor came to speak with us and did not even apologize nor seem alarmed. We had recurring issue with dirty pillowcases, sheets containing hair, dirty cups not being replaced, the shower not being cleaned and towels picked up directly off the floor and placed back onto the rack- which I can understand a mistake but picking up towels directly off the floor and placing them back on the rack was NOT a mistake. We marked the towels with pen (in a way not to ruin them) as we did not think they were being changed and placed them on the floor... sure enough those same towels were placed nicely folded, back on the rack. Disgusting!! We also try to choose our room specifically to be away from as much noise as possible. Starting after midnight, loud music came through our walls from the theater (and we had an early excursion). The crew put together a talent show. The music was loud enough that you could sing along to several songs until early hours of the morning!I understand team moral but not at the expense and comfort of a paying customer. During our cruise, after speaking with guest services daily and multiple times per day at that, the deck supervisor (who could care less), the executive housekeeping assistant, and the guest relations manager, we wrote a five page letter submitting it to the Crown and Anchor Loyalty Program employee on staff, the hotel director, and the guest services manager of the Enchantment of the Seas, to which we did not receive a single word or reply from. We were offered a 25% credit towards a future cruise though, but after this experience that is not acceptable.Upon informing the guest services manager that this was not good enough and our vacation was ruined, she requested a return of the letter stating we would get this credit and told me she would inform the hotel director of that information. We received no further contact of any form from either the hotel director or the guest services manager. Upon returning to the states we called the Crown and Anchor to discuss what happened. They said there was nothing they could do and told us to speak with Customer Service. We then talked to customer service and they said because we "refused" the credit on board the ship that there was nothing further they could do and they would "escalate" our concerns to their "escalations department". We are not given a phone number for the escalations department and there is no way to reach them once so ever! You have to wait 3-5 BUSINESS WEEKS, not days, WEEKS for someone to call you back (if they call you back). Great customer service from Royal Caribbean. Just beware!!! In addition to the sanitary issues on the ship, this ship is also in need of major repairs!! A lot of the doors to public areas (electric open) do NOT work. They have to be pried open and are EXTREMELY heavy! If you are handicap you will have major issues. Due to this, near the pool/windjammers it creates almost a wind-tunnel and the sound is SO loud you can hear it 2 decks down and 10 rooms over. The beams creak so loudly (maintenance said there is nothing they can do)you think the ceiling may fall in any moment. There were major plumbing issues, air conditioner issues (sounded like a helicopter)- we had some issues with this and maintenance suggested removing the cover in our room and leaving the whole unit exposed (in my opinion it would not be safe nor appropriate). One night it was so bad the emergency lighting system even came on! The drawers all slide in and out as the ship moves as does the TV. The games on board are all missing pieces to the point it is hard to even play a full game. The activities on board were all directed towards elderly people- "look 10 years younger, wrinkle prevention, etc" not for younger couples. A lot of excursions were also cancelled. We have been on Norweigan, Princess, and Carnival before, and this ranks WAYYYYY below Carnival on ANY day of the week. You will be thoroughly disappointed if you book this cruise. I would look for another cruise line even if the price or location looks good! Read Less

We arrived in Baltimore and embarkation was run like a well-oiled machine.Debarkation, same way. As soon as we got on board,we were welcomed and treated to music, food, fun. Our cabin was just as we expected:cozy, quiet, clean. The beds are so comfortable. Our steward introduced himself, and was a joy everyday,as well as every employee we encountered. We were up at 6 everyday to enjoy coffee on lido, walk laps, then head to the gym for weights.Next, mdr for great conversation, and great food.I really enjoy walking all over any ship, and I found all kinds of hallways to wander around and art to admire. First stop,Cocoa Beach. We took the Carnival shuttle in to town, hit the beach and shops.Weather was perfect.Next stop,Nassau, again perfect weather. We hit 3 beaches-water taxi to Cabbage near Riu hotel, water taxi back to Nassau, lunch at Senor Frogs(I had a b52 shot!)then a nice walk to Junkanoo beach.Next, the jitney #10 to Cable beach. My fav was Cabbage Beach! On to Freeport, and can you believe it,another perfect weather day!We hopped on a local van to Lucaya, where we walked around and hit the beach.Next time,I want to try Taino beach. On the way back to Baltimore,we had 1 day of rain.I got a massage at the spa.It was wonderful, but I didnt enjoy the sales pitch to buy products when done. You must be firm if you do not wish to buy. My only other issues-no chairs on deck 3,which is my fav deck to nap on or just relax and hot tubs not hot enough. All in all,it was a superb vacation for the money. And they take such good care of you!I really feel as if Im leaving family behind when I go.We had more than enough terrific food to choose from, the desserts are really top notch. We didnt do the shows, games. But did enjoy live music in various areas of the ship. And my hubby won $200 on the vault in the casino! The cabin window was so filthy, we could barely see out, much less take pictures through it. We reported it every day. They squirted salt water over the salt streaks without using soap, which didn't work.At the same time, they were washing the windows that were visible at the restaurants the proper way, soap and sqeegee. We wouldn't have booked the cruise under that circumstance. The quality of the dining room food has diminished greatly. The size of the drinks was smaller, especially the wine. There is a $7.95 charge for cabin breakfasts now. They have a port call at CoCoCay, their own island, which won't have any completed facilities until 2019, The call was cancelled due to heavy seas, because they don't have a dock. Of course they knew about it days before. Instead of making other arrangements, the took us down there and said surprise, surprise. A very disappointing experience. Read Less

Chose this cruise based off of price and date of vacation. There was not much to do for young adults. We were unable to go on our shore excursion and they tried to charge us extra for a supplemental excursion. Pricing was not clear for the Spa. Still had to pay for the entire cruise even though we had to leave early because of maintenance on the ship. Very disappointed with the overall experience. Only positive was the food and comedians on board. The ship is very outdated and it showed. One of the main features is the Casino so if you don't gamble there was not much to do. The ship has a small pool outside and inside. Most of the time the Jacuzzis were closed which was disappointing. We received multiple answers from different members of the guest services staff. This caused much confusion. Overall, I would not recommend going with this cruise ship. Read Less

The 110% guarantee is only valid with Passport(not told) GOLD means nothing at all. Harrison Assistant Guest service Manger was no help. Called Carnival when got home offered a $25 on board credit. Last cruise for me on Carnival.Very disappointed. Princess Cays there is nothing to do. Beach was very rocky and the unlimited drink package does not apply. Contacted Carnival was just wrong. So sad like so many other guests we heard 172 filed complaints as well as myself. Day one. made friends with the bed bug that came crawling out of the couch. Not a great start. For this one issue we were compensated what i would consider the cheap way out but also fair enough. despite pest control "clearing" the room 2 more were found. I work as a general manager in hotels..I know a bed bug treatment takes more than 25 min. Guest services was less than helpful throughout the ordeal and we missed a part of our first day dealing with this. Not to mention I paid for a room upgrade to a balcony that we now felt uncomfortable being in. The only other thing I will mention is the dining service. We never received a drink before our food. this is not because the food came out quickly but rather the drinks were that slow. a one time occurrence ill give them but this was every single night we dined. If we wanted a drink at dinner we would take turns leaving the table, walk out and to the closest bar on the ship, get a drink and then return. We had to ask for bread almost every night and we never knew who our actual server was. Let me sum up my experience with this...When we returned from our cruise on the pride we felt as if we were never on vacation at all. I do want to add I contacted Carnival and spoke to a guest care specialist regarding the stay. I am posting this review because i feel less valued as a paying customer after speaking to them. The interaction was like speaking to a robot who does not care at all about people who spend their hard earned money on a carnival cruise. I was given a 50 dollar on board credit for my experience... Things happen that is understood but when things do go wrong there is a value in the customer service provided. I was just another dollar in Carnivals pocket, it was a waste of what should have been a relaxing vacation. Read Less

This cruise was chosen by someone planning a group trip, and I was excited to try Royal. However, this trip was a large disappointment. My husband and I could have taken 2 Carnival cruises for the price of this trip. Not saying that it was terrible, but it should have been marketed and priced as a value cruise. There was nothing luxurious about this trip. The embarktion time was delayed by multiple hours due to staff boarding and mechanical issues, and the speed (to make up time) in the first 24 hours had many people very sick. The food was amazing, and the staff was pleasant. This is the first trip that I did not buy any photos on as well. In almost all of our photos there were obvious flaws, for example: my large charm on my necklace being flipped, my husband's shirt button gaping open, or just bad positioning. I also could not get a mojito to save my life. I tried ordering one at 3 different bars, multiple times, on each day, and each time I was told they had no mint. I did see mint in other places, but just couldn't get my drink. Our stateroom toilet barely worked, and at one point overflowed, wetting our floors. It was repaired and the mess was cleaned up, but the carpets remained soggy for the duration of our trip. Our travel companions had horror stories, but I will allow them to write their own reviews. I don't believe that this particular sailing and ship is indicative of the Royal fleet, but I was turned off of any future sailings with them nonetheless. Read Less

This was a family first time cruise with a group of 18. We didn't know what to expect when picking ships so we went with the Grander. When first boarding the ship you could tell that this was a very OLD ship with a lot of use. We had 5 children teenagers who could not find any other children on board to hang out with. The teens club was very old and boarding they were to say to us. They spent most of there time in the indoor pool and just hung out in the hot tubs. This was a cruise with a lot of OLDER people on-board who did not understand manners. When going to get things to eat at the windjammer they would just think that they could just go in front of you because they were older in age. As you can tell this did not go well when we had to correct them on what they were doing. We didn't get to stop in one of are ports because of the weather. Not saying that this was their choice but still could have done something to make up for it. They made a new Cruise Compass for the day to make it more enjoyable. I would say they didn't add anything that really made us stick out and have a fun day. We all just did are own thing that day. Other then that we all just did are own things on this cruise because there was nothing to do for the younger age. Defiantly would not go on this ship again!!! Read Less

I just recently returned from my third cruise with Royal Caribbean, and although my first two were fantastic experiences, this one was my last. Horrific service from their Guest Services and the main dining room, and poor communication between the company and guests confirmed that I had wasted several thousand dollars on a vacation I can’t even look back on to enjoy. My fiancé and I had almost grabbed our bags and departed the ship when we stopped in Key West, and I truly wish we had. Boarding the cruise ship has changed dramatically from what it used to be. Now touring the ship and various shops and bars felt like walking through a mall with the most aggressive kiosk vendors of all time. Everyone was shoving some brochure or pamphlet in your face and challenged you to upgrade (if you had already purchased a package) or asked personal questions about your dining schedule to pressure you to purchase food at one of their restaurants. Although I had already made two reservations online for their restaurants, we still got pressured to eat at one of them (of course, for additional charges) nearly every single day. I was even challenged by a worker on the ship of who I made the reservation through and what exact time I had reserved- he kept insinuating that I was lying to avoid making a reservation through him until I felt rude enough to walk away. Guest Services was horrific. After eating at Izumi (great service there, they appear to be the exception of the ship), I was double charged and my credit card company declined one of the charges. I received a letter to immediately report to Guest Services (although all charges are supposed to go through the final day of the trip..?) – she then proceeded to berate me, and even after speaking with my credit card company on the phone about why it was declined (the full charge was approved, and they proceeded to attempt the charge THREE more times. Of course it’s going to be declined after I already paid the full amount…), she was extremely demeaning and brought me to tears. When I finally asked for a manager or supervisor, one came over to ask if she was okay. Really, Royal Caribbean? When we were notified that we would be staying an extra day at sea due to the state of emergency in Maryland, the captain noted that all phones and internet would open to make alternate plans for hotels, airfare, etc. When I went upstairs to use the Guest Services phone, she nonchalantly told me to go back to my stateroom to make the call. When I walked back to my room, I was notified I would be charged $8/per minute for the call, and would have to go to Guest Services to use the phone. Upon returning to Guest Services, I waited over an hour in the line that I had already been at the front of for a one minute phone call. Real professional, guys. The cherry on top of the sundae was the fact security was called on us for a noise complaint by our stateroom neighbors. We had woken up to our neighbors every day, fell asleep to the sound of their teenage kids being loud, and heard every conversation through the door. I thought this was normal, especially for close quarters on a cruise ship, and seldom complained about it. During a rare time that we were in the state room after dinner, they had the gall to call a noise complaint (although a Leanne Rhymes impersonator was belting out Celine Dion in the Centrum). Security arrived and proceeded to complete what felt like a murder investigation in the room, asking personal questions, what were we talking about, how long have we been together, etc. REALLY, ROYAL CARIBBEAN?! To top that off, the matriarch of the family next door put a glass to the door to listen in. Quite lovely. To complete this dumpster fire of a vacation, we put out our luggage as directed the night before departure. We were then told after waiting over two hours to depart the ship (at 7:30am) that our bags would not be available to pick up until “at least” 9:35. Customs and Border Patrol told us something different, and we only ended up waiting until 8:00. So thank you, Royal Caribbean. I can look back on the week my boyfriend and I went away to get engaged only to blow thousands of dollars on a vacation we would like to forget. Read Less

I am a 35 year old woman with 3 kids and a great husband. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary without kids and had booked this several numbers in advance. We booked the second best suite - the Owners Suite and paid a chunk of change. In short, we were THRILLED as it was something to look forward to. We were VERY disappointed. I will keep the following brief as I don't want to waste anymore of my time thinking about this awful experience. Old Ship - if you want to see rust, broken pieces of things around the room, HORRIBLE carpet and decor, then this ship is for you. It was built in 2006. You've, it was old and smelly. Our room - Best suit equaled a 3 day leak from the ceiling right in front of the bathroom. We were actually told that they would not be able to talk compensation with us until the END of the cruise because there a chance the lead could continue the rest of the cruise. So we dealt with this ISSUE for the entire cruise. Staff - Burnt out. Food - HORRIBLE. No variety. We have cruised before and this was the worst. Both got VERY sick with stomach bug and ended up having to go to medical. Entertainment - Sad. Never ever take a cruise during hurricane season off the Atlantic leaving from the east coast. We left from Baltimore and are still taking medicine because we feel like we are rocking. Lastly - I love old people. BUT the cruise was 75% people OVER 50. I saw more walkers and wheelchairs in the last several days then I had in the last 7 years. Again, I love old people and one day I might be that old fart on a cruise...but you should know what you are getting into. Read Less

I absolutely agree with every single comment NCBN0902! It was my very first time cruising and it was absolutely horrible. I understand the company had no control over the weather but they did absolutely nothing to assist passengers. My cabin was at the very back of the ship and in order to get dressed to our "formal" dinner, i had to lay on the bed to get dressed because staying up was impossible. I had an unlimited drinking package but the seas made me so nauseous that it wasn't even needed. By the second night, i knew every single song that played on that ship. The entertainment was boring and targeted towards an older audience. Food in the Great Gatsby dining room was the same every night and so was breakfast. Decided to eat at the Italian place onboard on the ship due to arriving at Bermuda so late and nothing else to do, and it took 2.5 hours to get my food. Service was extremely slow. It appears most of the waitressing staff had too many tables to attend and the majority of them were stressed out which decreased the quality of service. The onboard casino was the main passageway to get to the Palladium Theatre and if you are not a smoker, you were out of luck and were introduced to second hand smoke and the same happened on the decks. The acrobatic show was four people dangling from bungee chords-not impressive at all! The time in Bermuda was unfortunately very short due to the ship arriving really late and leaving on time at 1 pm. By the time, I left Bermuda, I was wishing i was in Baltimore once again. it couldn't have come any faster. I absolutely hated every single minute of it and needless to say it will be my last cruise ever. Read Less

My wife and I are in our mid-40s and decided to take a cruise to Bermuda thinking that it would be a great way to spend a romantic week together while also getting to experience the culture of a foreign country. We were wrong. What we got instead was a "bus trip" aboard a no-tell motel to a shopping mall. The details are as follows: - The overall look of the ship was old and shabby, this was the first thing that I noticed as we ascended the gangway. There was peeling paint, rust, carpeting hanging from the stairs, dirty windows and every door that wasn't glass, be they cabin doors or elevator doors, was dented as if hit randomly and repeatedly with hammers. - When we arrived at our cabin, the first thing that greeted us was the stench of sulphur (like a septic tank) and wet carpet at the entrance to the bathroom. After notifying customer service about this, the room was cleaned, the rug was "dried" with a massive air blower (that blocked the entire walkway) and the shower was recaulked. This entire process took place over the first three days but the smell was gone and the carpet dry. - The toilet randomly just refused to flush. It always eventually did, just not on demand. - The food was mediocre AT BEST. This applied not only to the Windjammer buffet where, being a buffet, you'd expect mediocre food but also to the "fine dining" restaurant where the pretentiousness far exceeded the quality of the food. The "food" at the Park Cafe bordered on inedible and regardless of where it came from, the coffee tasted as if were filtered through a mixture of burnt sofas from a house-fire and ground up railroad ties (I wish that this was exaggerated). - The activities aboard the ship ranged from boring to embarrassing. Some of the highlights were the "World's Sexiest Man" contest, where having any sense of decorum was clearly grounds for disqualification, the belly flop contest, where the runners-up from the previously mentioned contest could put their splendid physiques to good use and, perhaps best of all, the "Fine Art" auction. This was the most offensive of all. Not because it plainly showed that the cruise line thought of their captive guests as pretentious dupes, who believe that actual art is sold on a cruise ship, but because they were apparently at least partially right. - The staff were all very friendly and always smiled, even when a "guest" gave them little reason to do so. - Many of the "guests" simply had no idea how to behave properly in public. Obviously this is not the cruise line's fault but it did have a great impact on the experience overall. - It's almost inconceivable that in 2015, smokers are still allowed to engage in their filthy habit in such close proximity to those of us that choose not to poison ourselves. Yet all of the starboard-side outdoor decks and the entire casino still allow this, as though they are somehow actually separated from the rest of us. Sorry smokers, it's your addiction not mine. Thanks Royal Caribbean for the opportunity to breathe second-hand cigarette smoke. - The entire cruise is a never-ending "up-sell". While eating in one restaurant, people from another badger you to come to theirs. You are ceaselessly encouraged to book your next cruise, starting while still at the dock. Plainly, the free coffee is designed to send you running for the on-board Starbuck's. The spa staff are always "encouraging" you to visit - When it rained, water leaked from everything but the lights. - Our daily one-mile walk on deck 10 doubled as trash pick up. The staff simply didn't do it and we couldn't just ignore it as it would have blown overboard. In hindsight this was rather silly considering the environmental rape that cruise ships inflict upon the oceans with what they dump overboard. - Once we arrived at Bermuda all of the ship's closed, forcing anyone inclined to spend money to do so on the island, at the grossly inflated prices that having a captive audience allows. - Snorkel Park "Beach" I won't get into details about that. You can find out all you need to know on Trip Advisor. I STRONGLY advise that you do so before visiting this physically hazardous dump (it literally is a "reclaimed" dump). Read Less

The next night we changed dining times and dining rooms and ended up with a waiter who we could not have been more pleased with named Maryono who provided excellent service. He was very attentive to our needs and served us with a smile. Thank you Maryono for making our stay better! Our cabin was clean, however our cabin guy who I will not name rushed us out of the cabin a few times just so he could clean it claiming he didn't know if he would be back later so he wanted to do it then. We were sleeping one of those times when he knocked on the door wanting us to leave so he could clean the cabin. I thought this was vacation where people are suppose to be able to rest and relax when they wanted but I was wrong. He even knocked on the door on embarkation morning at 0847 claiming that we had to be out of the cabin by 0900 when the paper clearly stated 0930. He kept the cabin clean but it was very frustrating to be awaken to be kicked out of "your" cabin that you paid great money for to rest and relax. The food was not that great. I have had better on the carnival! They served us hot dogs, chili w/beans and cold ham and cheese sandwiches EVERY NIGHT for the midnight buffet!!!!...Thank God for the freshly made pizza and the "ONE" guy who was made to work nightshift and serve hundreds of people by himself (and he did it all without any complaints and did not express any attitudes towards the people due to being overworked) KUDOS to this guy!!! There was hardly anything to do on this boat besides gamble, eat or sleep!! (And the casino did not keep people there because nobody was winning anything so people did not stay long)The shows were mediocre and seem to be something you could get from a high school play. The alcoholic drinks were over priced ranging from $7.95- and up but they did offer an over priced special where you could purchase a package drink special priced at $150.00 where you could receive drinks at a special price daily but ALL parties in your cabin had to purchase the special or it could not be purchased. The guys in the hamburger area on the lido were rude. They waited on "certain" people who would cut the line instead of waiting on the people who were standing in the line under the sign that clearly states "line starts here" and when something was said in a nice polite fashion, they continued to wait on the people who had cut the line and ignored the people who not only was standing there first but standing in the correct spot to be waited on. I observed one blonde headed girl talk rudely to the guest in front of me while waiting to helped at Pixel. The people were trying to ask her questions about the packages for pictures and she kept answering them with one word answers and cutting them off asking for their sale and sign card. She cut them off several times asking for their sale and sign card instead of answering their questions like she should have. However, the guy next to her was patiently waiting on another couple and answering their questions and helping them to pick the appropriate picture package but the blonde headed girl kept interjecting into his conversation answering questions the people were asking the guy. If she took the time to show the people in front of her the attention and courtesy that he was exhibiting to his guest, I do believe the people would not have walked away frustrated because she was too busy answering select questions for people that were already being helped. I found her behavior to be quite disturbing and unprofessional. This cruise was a major let down and the staff acted as if they did not want to serve select guest. To get a courtesy smile or greeting from a lot of them was far fetched. It did not happen. A lot of the staff seem as if they did not want to be there and it showed. They did not care how they treated or talked to the guest. Carnival Pride staff need to take lessons from other cruise boat staff or this boat should change management. We chose the Pride because it was close and we did not have to catch a flight to cruise on this boat but if the service is and will be what we just experienced, the next time we will fly to catch a boat that will appreciate their guest and provide the service like they are happy to serve. After all, the guest IS the reason why they are there. Signed, A Carnival Stock Holder and Valued Customer Read Less

2nd time w/RCI & this was horrible. The balcony suite was small & decorated from the 70's. The bathroom smelled like a septic & was very tiny. Elevators were slow and the toilet lines were blocked several times so toilets could not be flushed. Nothing to do on the ship and too many kids running around unattended by there parents. On deck 9 you can see chipped paint and many layors of paint. This ship is outdated and not worth money. Do not book the Atlantic Water Park excursion for the Bahamas. You arrive around 2:30 & then taken on a tour of the hotel & shopping areas. They seem to be just interested in getting you to buy from their stores. By the time you get to the water park you have less than 3 hours to use it because it closes at 6pm. Was not worth the $129 per person. The cost of the food is also ridiculous....paid $21 for 2 hot dogs, fries a drink. The safe in our room would not open several times so maintenance was call often. I am just really disgusted because our 1st 5 day cruise was fantastic. We paid too much money for a longer and boring trip. Read Less

This was me and my husband's 5 cruise and second with Carnival line. I can honestly say without hesitation that this was the worse cruise ever. And if this was my first cruise I'd ever been on I'd probably never take another one!We booked this cruise for a couple of reasons. 1- We wanted to take the kids on their first cruise and this week lined up with their spring break, 2- It was cheap (you really do get what you pay for) and 3- we live in Ohio so we could drive there.Embarkation- We drove so we used their parking lot. We got there around 9am which was pretty early so the attendant told us we had to come back later. The port seems like it was in a sketchy neighborhood. We asked her where we could get a bite to eat and she said there was a Wal-Mart with a McDonald's in it. This struck us as funny because if someone came to Ohio and asked where they could go to get something to eat a fast food place in a Wal-Mart would be the last place I'd tell someone to go. But we just laughed about that. When we did get to the parking lot it was congested (which is fine a lot of people trying to get on the ship) but they way the traffic was handled was a joke. We were one of the first lines there but one of the last ones let in. And the attendant who gave us Wal-Mart directions was directing traffic while smoking a cigarette and not even looking at the car she was directing to go. So....When you pay for the parking you can pay by cash or credit. They had 2 women in an SUV in the middle of the 2 lanes taking your money. One of them was yelling and going off about something.... All I heard was...I've been here for 5hrs and I didn't get a single tip. I was very afraid to let them swipe my credit card!! Getting through security was easy and everyone was very nice in the terminal. We went to the Lido deck when we got on the ship to hit the buffets and get the kids some ice cream. The buffets were a joke. They only had one grille open for hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and fries and that is what everyone ate! The wait for that line was not shorter than 20min every day. This was a hot spot for my kids because that's all they ate the entire cruise. The ice cream machines were right by the grille so the grill line always wrapped around to the ice cream station. So you had 2 lines running into each other. The food in the restaurant and buffet was terrible! My husband was sick for 3 days after eating their food. We had to go see the nurse just to buy something for his diarrhea. I got sick on the last day on the cruise. Camp Carnival was another joke. My 7y/o spent a total of 2hrs in there and my 5y/o maybe a total of 4hrs in 7 days there. They didn't do the activities that were on the itinerary. They said they were going to have a magician and when I picked my 5 y/o up and asked him how he liked the magician he said they never had one. And when I picked him up they were all sitting around watching t.v. The halls would smell like raw sewage, our toilet would flush and then bring whatever was flushed back up. Probably from everyone using the facilities too often from getting sick! The toilet smelled like urine! I mean like port-a-potty smell! Pools were freezing cold. One day when it was finally warm enough to swim my husband asked 3 different people if they could clean the pool because it was so dirty with bugs and debris. Finally he took the pool skimmer out and cleaned it himself. You think any workers stopped him from doing it....no they just watched him do it. Slide was never on. It only operates if the temp is 74 degrees or more. HERE'S THE BEST PART!!! Our first stop was Port Canaveral. We went to Universal Studios, which was awesome! Just wish we had more time there. When we returned there was a severe thunderstorm and "a gust of wind" hit the ship and snapped one of the mooring lines holding the ship to the deck. This made the ship move away from the deck and made the on ramp separate from the ship. They had to immediately call everyone off the ramp and made us wait in the terminal until they fixed the problem. Well we ended up staying in that terminal for 3hrs! They didn't know what they were doing. They ended up shipping half of the people waiting to get on the ship to another port then decided that wasn't a good idea. So those people who were sipped to the other port had to come all the way back and go through security again. They gave us a granola bar and a pop while we waited our 3hrs! We missed our early dinner. We were in the terminal from approx. 6pm to 9pm. We ordered room service (cold sandwiches!) and had to wait at least 45 min. for it because everyone was ordering! It gets better......We were suppose to leave Port Canaveral at7pm that night but didn't end up leaving until 6am the next morning because when the mooring line broke they had to drop the anchor and a mechanism broke to bring the anchor up. Instead of taking us to Nassau they opted to skip that port and take us directly to Freeport. They said we got a "bonus day at sea!" Wippy dooo!! Who wants to spend a total of 5 days at sea on a boring ship!!?? Freeport only had one thing to do and that was get a taxi and go to the beach. We complained to the excursion and help desk because our excursion we booked at Nassau was canceled and the same excursion at Freeport was 70 bucks more. We didn't want to pay any more than we already had for our excursions. They all said "their hands were tied." So we asked to speak to the manager and he gave us the same response. And that none of what happened was their fault. They were not sympathetic at all! In the end they gave everyone a 25 dollar on board credit for our troubles (which didn't seem like enough) and $0.71 back for the port we missed. I would like to know if it's only $0.71 per person for each port then why do they charge so much extra the more ports you stop! The staff looked like they hated their job and acted like it too. Probably because they did! My kids said they were happy to be home. And so were my husband and I!!! I don't know how this ship ever got any good reviews!!! If you book this cruise then good luck and I hope your experience is better than ours was. But I would never recommend this cruise to anyone!!! Happy sailing!! Read Less

Outdated boat with outdated activities and entertainment, if you are over 75 you will have a decent time as the boat is small. The entire boat looks like the it is straight out of the 70’s... with outdated furniture and carpet. The bathrooms smelled like mold and mildew and using it just adds to the gross smell. The boat is past due for dry dock. I’m a bit surprised this is a Royal Caribbean boat. My stateroom shower uses shower curtains that never completely dry, with noticeable mildew growing on the surface. The fact that you have to touch the toilet lids to flush the toilet shows how outdated the boat is. The food was decent but could’ve been better for the prices we pay. The constant selling of drinks and packages became annoying and there was absolutely nothing to see in Bermuda. If you want an overpriced quick getaway on an old moldy outdated boat, this is the vacation for you. Read Less

I have cruised on Carnival 9 times and this was the 2nd to worst cruise. The activities were lacking, the assistant wait staff was poor for the first few days and one Alchemy Bartender was really rude and not customer friendly. On the other hand our cabin steward Rommel was an awesome professional, our waiter Mehmet was the saving grace and the lobby bartender Katherine was the best bartender ever. The food was not of the normal quality and they did not offer escargot on this trip. The entertainment after dinner shows were bad talent and they need to find a better way so all passengers can enjoy the Captain's cocktail party. With all the competition among cruise lines Carnival needs to step it up. Further like Princess Carnival should consider allowing individuals to sign up for the Cheers Program. My wife does not drink and I don't think it is fair to require her to sign up just because I sign up. Also need to figure out a way to allow passengers to get to the dining room without walking through a smoky casino Need to step it up. Read Less

We chose this cruise because Baltimore was within driving distance. It was our first cruise. People said that the food would be great but....it wasn't. We typically eat at fine restaurants and so we were prepared to see similar fare. Not even close. The Windjammer Buffet was a feeding frenzy with people acting like they never saw food before. It quickly looked like a feeding trough for barnyard animals. The Windjammer desserts looked amazing but they had no taste. The MDR service was great however the food and menu choices weren't very special. The menu got worse as the week progressed. I'm thinking of one of the last nights there was an appetizer: "Chilled Strawberry soup with Mint foam" The last few days seemed like they were trying to get rid of leftovers. I'm thinking of the Smoked Salmon cut up and scrambled in with eggs. Our cabin steward, Joseph, was the best part of our trip. He kept everything clean and orderly. Many other floors had a sewage smell but ours was kept odor free. There were some warm days however, the wind and rain kept us from enjoying the outside pool and the one day we could...some kid pooped in the pool and they closed it until the next day. (at sea, they dumped it and refilled it) The Adults Only Solarium permitted children during certain times because of the weather however, The Solarium resembled a nursing home by 10 am everyday. There were scooters, walkers, and canes. Older guests took up all the indoor poolside seating most laying there fully clothed, asleep, not even using the pool. The one man was so slack-jawed, I wondered if he might be deceased. The outer seating was filled with older guests playing cards, dominoes, scrabble and the like. The older guests never left. They would sit, sleep etc until it was time to eat again. Some people were cruising back-to-back-to-back. One lady said she'd be there for another 115 days! We only get one vacation a year. The full-time cruisers could not care less. This was their cruise ship and we were the interlopers. The Charleston Historical tour was great and very informative. The RCI provided tour guides in Miami were not the best. We felt man handled as we were quickly forced onto a double decked bus. I was concerned that we were being kidnapped. We didn't go to Cococay. We didn't even know this was a possibility. We had our most special excursions planned for that port. It didn't ruined our time together but I was devastated. This was a special day planned especially for my husband. Excursions were reimbursed but we took the whole cruise without ever getting to see a beach. We may try cruising again but not on this ship. The food was loudsy they do not cater to ur eating habits if u did not eat pork there was not much of a choice. Guys burgers not good too greasy. I lived on boiled eggs and french fries. This is my second Carnival Cruise-Legend was our first and Pride our second. Pride is a SMALL OLDER ship.Sailed out of Baltimore -we walked in and registered and walked straight on to the ship and INTO OUR suite--OUTSTANDING-no waiting anywhere, The port had their stuff together. Leaving the ship was just as easy, walked to customs and then to our car 500 feet away. Port parking---OUTSTANDING, JUST PERFECT--CLOSE AND SECURE PARKING!!! . Room service (food) was outstanding (makes the best pizza (approx. 14 inch), wings and banana splits. Breakfast (room service) was a disappointment. No hot foods for BREAKFAST ONLY, only options are toast, bagels and muffins AND COFFEE with good condiments such as jelly's and peanut butter. Coffee is good but only warm-out of 5 am services coffee was never more than luke warm. All delivery times were good, any where from 15 minutes to 1 hour (because people come back from excursions and order in). Four times the room service call would just ring 25 or more times. I guess it was because they were busy. Outside deck was nice but rust everywhere and paint all over furniture (had to have cleaned). Glass was excessively dirty. Furniture comfortable. Back to the inside, the bed was outstanding, I have a severe back issue to failed surgery and bed was outstanding. Pillow (got 2 additional for a total of 6) were great firm yet really soft. Bed cover must be down or something close to it. Very thick but really light weight. Restaurant food was outstanding, shrimp gumbo OMG, 2 guys burgers-better tan 5 GUYS burgers (in my opinion) another OMG, with a side bar or bacon, onions, hot and sweet peppers, potato sticks, mushroom, fried onions and much more. The PROBLEMS-------------DRINK PACKAGE (soda only--$7.50 per person) ALL PEOPLE IN PARTY ---MUST----PURCHASE) IS A RIP OFF. If one person in your room wants the alcohol package-EVERYONE MUST GET IT--EVEN IF YOUR WITH FAMILY AND HAVE SOMEONE 18 OR ABOVE WITH YOU--like i would want my son or daughter to have unlimited alcohol) Its not like on a larger ship where cup came with package (was IN ROOM UPON ARRIVAL)and soda dispensers were every where. BEWARE on the PRIDE-- anyone-kids included MUST GO TO THE BAR FOR SODA--YES I SAID BAR-and they MUST scan your card for every soda. We used our's 14 times in 6 days due to the inconvenience-we ended up paying $18.00 per six pack (4) we had delivered to our room so getting a drink was more convenient. It is not available at any eatery unless you request your server to get it from the bar. I asked for a refund for the last 24 hours (had 48 hours left on cruise) and "team member refused. It does say package is day to day but it also states no refunds even including what you do not use-- I advised the 'team member", in case he could not see my card was red (means you have cruised Carnival more than once) I advise him I was a VIP member and would like a refund for the non used soda plan. Still he insisted on NO REFUNDS PERIODS!!!! SHIPS CHAT PROGRAM (so you and speak to each other anywhere on the ship via your phone) -- ($5.00 per person) Team member could not even get it to work. They did refund our $10.00 (one plus for them, I hope we didn't break their bank).Since we had so many issues on this cruise I advised him I will NEVER use CARNIVAL AGAIN. Still no refund---I hope they enjoy their $15.00 extra profit. We had several other issues. I mean I will NOT RECOMMEND OR USE THEM AGAIN!!! Read Less

We chose this cruise for timing (dates 19-24 May) & availability out of Baltimore which is an hour away. The check in procedure was well organized and easy. They have this process down pat. The food on the Grandeur OTS was poor/very disappointing. The meals were barely tolerable; three meals were so disgusting I could not eat them. The food service at my work provides better quality food (and that is just an ordinary cafeteria). The first bad meal was linguini and carbonara sauce w bacon - the over cooked pasta was mush. Tried two bites and I put down the fork. With hope in my heart, I agreed to an upscale ($35 per person) brunch of lobster/filet mignon on day three. A brunch which turned out to be a buffet. The lobster was previously cooked & reheated. The lobster was the consistency of rubber w little flavor. Every single filet was over cooked & dried out. The desserts were tasty (I think they are prepared off ship). The sparkling wine and mimosas were pretty good too. Could it get worse? Yes! The worst meal was a turkey plate (I know I should not have ordered it but other selections we're poor). The top slice appeared ok but underneath was a slice of some conglomeration of turkey parts w connective tissues. It looked awful. The purported "stuffing" was gummy and distasteful. Not sure what they put in it. The sweet potato was decent. Cranberry sauce was watery. Ugh! My husband said 'Sizzler' was 4-Stars compared to the strip steak he got at that same dinner. My husband found a grill on the pool deck (limited hours) that offered a three-cheese grilled sandwich which was esceptionally good. Thank heavens for those grilled cheese sandwiches! The on board Starbucks was just like a regular Starbucks -- great iced mocha coffees. The onboard experience was okay. The had many music events in the central area that were entertaining but nothing like a real show. The classical strings performance was particularly good. Some music 'events' were just too hokey (almost silly) and of limited interest. A major problem was that the musicians had to compete with the chatter and significant noise from the adjacent bar which was very distracting. During this cruise, two stand up comedians performed in the theatre (we attended three shows) but neither were quite ready for prime time. There was lots of time to go out and enjoy the sea air on the promenade deck for a walk or grabbing a chair for an unscheduled nap. The smoke-filled casino was down right nasty. We avoided it at all costs. The bar service was mediocre. The servers were all pleasant and tried very hard but frequently they were overwhelmed (staffing seemed inadequate) and service was usually slow. The cabin was clean but initially seemed hot and stuffy. Upon calling it in, turns out that a fan unit malfunctioned affecting several other cabins also. They repaired it promptly and the air flow/cooling situation was resolved. The bed was tolerable but did not provide restful sleep. Cabin service was excellent. All requests were immediately responded to. Our cabin attendant was very hard working and exceptionally pleasant. He made sure to learn our names and warmly greeted us through out the day. I worried that he seemed to work 24 hours a day. I asked for assistance with shore excursions but RC could offer nothing. We were left to our own devices and we had a great visit in Bermuda going to the beach twice and seeing most of the island on our own. I don't know how Royal Caribbean (RC) Cruise Lines expects to have people come back with such poor food. Many people on this cruise w Grandeur OTS were openly stating and complaining how horrible the food was. I can say "never again on RC" for me. Overpriced and pathetic food; absolutely no value for the money paid. :( The upside was that Bermuda was spectacular. Can't wait to get back to Bermuda (by air thank you!!!). SLH Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was in driving distance from our home. Getting to the port and parking was a breeze! We had priority so embarkation was quick and easy as well. Our cabin was nice, however the fan was on constantly in the dressing area and was so loud I could not hear my husband talking to me as I was getting ready. The room steward, Ronito was excellent! On to the negatives... Yes, the first couple of days the weather was not the greatest, this can not be blamed on Carnival. However, I do feel like this trip should be an 8 day instead of a 7 day to give you time to get back to Baltimore without going so fast the whole boat is shaking. I have been on smaller ships that did not shake or vibrate as much as this one. We were traveling at about 24 knots most of the time. We ended up only going to the Dinning Room 3 or 4 nights, which is a shame because I enjoy the experience. This ship only has 1 main dinning room, which created long waits for both reserved and anytime dining. I'm not sure if the Dinning Room was understaffed or if it was a training issue, but the service was not up to par. The food also was not very good, it either came over-cooked, under-cooked, or ice cold. On this cruise we decided not to do any shore excursions, that was a big mistake! Port Canaveral- It cost $15 per person for a shuttle to Cocoa Beach, the highlight of which was breakfast at IHop and a round of mini-golf. I suggest skipping this area if it is not nice enough weather to go to the beach. Nassau was ok, we walked around town a bit, and visited the pirate museum. It is very expensive here (4 drinks =$50.00). Freeport - This port is a waste of time and money. You are stuck at the little port unless you want to pay $40 for a cab to the city that is 25 minutes away. All of the vendors have the exact same items and can be seen in 15 minutes. From what I understand of others that did the beach excursions, it is all pretty much the same beach just different packages. Overall, we are not sure will go back on this cruise. Read Less

We did NOT get to stop at the most important port which was the princess cay island .instead we got to stop to cape canaval.florida.which it was quiet cool.we made so many turns on this ship.. It became very very rocky and made the strongest of us ill.. this actually became a nightmare cruise..not happy at all.. I am not even sure we will be sailing Carnival again.. finally when we got to Bahamas our time on shore was cut short. Then the trip back was so fast back to cold weather .so our 7 day cruise was all cold except the 2 days we actually was ported in Bahamas.very dissapointed. Read Less
