First Carnival Cruise-Fun, but prefer RoyalC

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Legend

My husband and I chose this cruise since we can easily get a ride to the port. We wanted a break from winter. Neighbors joined us, making our party two couples 57-61 years old. We each had an ocean balcony. PROS: As mentioned, convenience to port. Plenty of shelving around bathroom sink (6 shelves for all of the meds, makeup, toiletries etc.). Plenty of closet space between 3 closets. ...

This will be my last cruise on Carnival

Sailed out of Baltimore on Carnival Legend for a 7-day cruise to the Bahamas. The wife and I sailed with our two girls, 15 and 17. This was our third cruise and second cruise on Carnival, the other one being on the Carnival Pride in 2018. I'll start with general thoughts, then I'll discuss some positives, and end with the negatives. Generally, the ship was clean and the food decent. There were ...

I am a D+ on RCL, so have really enjoyed them in the past. They now have gone paperless and have an app that you must use. It often takes 2 or 3 tries to get in. Why not perfect the app before launching it? The wifi is now the same way. You often have to try several times to log on. This is the first year that i have had poor wifi reception on a RCL ship. They have very few big shows as in the ...

Cold Temperatures But Still Had a Great Trip!

Yes, sailing in January you take the risk of colder temperatures, this was expected, but not to the degree it turned out to be. The trip started with 6" of snow in Baltimore the morning of departure. Lots were closed at first so crews could plow and passengers leaving the preceding cruise could get to their cars and clean the snow off. Once the lots were opened, the line of cars proceeded. ...

This was our first cruise and it was perfect! We had so much fun. We did everything available to us and will go as soon as possible! The entertainment was so good. The cruise director Lia was amazing. Yhe shopping lady Noelle was awesome. I usually do not like comedians but we went to every show. During Mandy's show I was crying from laughing so hard. We went to the Rock show two times ...

It's a good thing Royal is planning a new class of small ships as the Vision class is slowly wearing out. In the meantime, the secret weapon of Royal was displayed on this voyage - Exceptional Service - at every venue, every staffer, from Windjammer to MDM to Centrum, to including Guest Services. All of the staff in the Windjammer have been converted from table cleaners to friendly hosts ...

My family and I had one table in the main dining room on the first day. By day 3, we were assigned a different table. When we arrived at our new table the service was insistent we were at the wrong table. He sent us upstairs to the other dining room and they sent us back downstairs to the table we were assigned to. That was miscommunication between staff would should have been sorted out prior to ...

My first time on a cruise and I picked Carnival legend. Had a balcony room. Paid for the cheers package wifi and gratuities all ahead of time. Just wanted to have a great vacation. I did have a great time. Enjoyed my “kiss on the lips” drinks at the bars. Was a regular on the second floor. Next time will just pay for my drinks not the package. I don’t drink that much. Entertainment was alright. ...

Vision sails from Baltimore, driving distance from home. Reports from previous cruisers gave the crew and ship good reviews and I had not been to Coco Cay since it was redone. Easy choice for my first cruise since the shut down. Vision did not disappoint, she is in exceptional condition and her crew was fantastic. Dining - I did not care for our table for two. We were seated in the rear of MDR ...

Norwegian Sun Not a Sunny Cruise

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Sun

This cruise was convenient as it departed out of Baltimore with a 12-day itinerary over the Christmas and New Years Holidays. The food often lacked flavor, served at less-than-optimal temperature (hot cereals served cool). The specialty restaurant was regrettable as the restaurant had no record of our pre-paid dinner reservation even when I produced the pre-booking receipt. The Moderna ...
