My wife and I took our first cruise and had an excellent time on the Carnival Pride. The ship was delayed 2 hours and embarkation was not pleasant. We were given very little information and waited in line an extremely long time. We had previously tried to sign up for FTTF but that option was sold out ( do it early ! ). Once we boarded things improved quite a bit. We were on deck 6 with a balcony. ...
My wife and I booked this cruise based on her limited availability and a port within driving distance. We had never cruised Carnival before but the price was good and it seemed like a good itinerary.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and felt we got good value for our money. The staff was excellent, professional, cheerful and hard working. The ship was surely older, but the room was big, ...
This was my 8th cruise. 3 with Royal Caribbean (LOVE LOVE LOVE)....and 5 (including this one) with Carnival. Up until this cruise, I would have recommended Carnival to anyone..but that has changed drastically. This cruise - from the planning stages through the actual cruise itself was a series of disappointments and deep frustrations with a cruiseline who had no respect for their customers, who ...
My husband and I chose the Carnival Pride for our honeymoon and first cruise. The basis of its appeal was the fact that it was inexpensive and allowed for a flexible itinerary. We had days where we kept ourselves busy with activities and days where we lounged and relaxed. This review is from the perspective of a first time cruiser but we hope it is helpful to others considering a cruise for ...
This cruise was the first cruise with my daughters. They are 3 years and 1 year old.
Arrival/embarkation: We drove from home which was about a 4 hour drive. Not too bad and certainly better than flying such a short distance. We left home with plenty of time and at that point my only worry was traffic from the Raven's home football game that day. As we got closer, it was already after ...
We left Baltimore on July 28 and sailed to Port Canaveral, Nassau, and Freeport. There were 5 cabins of us. We had a few first timers. Let me start by saying we had a good time. This ship left a lot to be desired.
The good -
(1) Chris and Sassy - they are very good. Fun and open and everywhere!!
(2) Eugent - bartender. Excellent!
(3) The shows were entertaining.
The bad -
(1) Where is the ...
It was our first cruise. Embarkation was a breeze (were dropped off at Baltimore at approx. 10:30, on board by noon, rooms ready by 1:30 and our luggage was there as well.) Staff were friendly and helpful (with the exception on one guy in the casino who I will talk about later.)
Sea days were more fun than we had expected. There were tons of activities (trivia, bingo, relaxation, etc). ...
This is the second time we've been on this cruise. We like the fact that we can drive from our home in upstate NY to the port of Baltimore and save the cost of airfare. Since we booked the same cruise again, we obviously liked it the first time. The ship is beautiful and the service and quality of the on-board experience is wonderful. The entertainment was great, the shows we saw were ...
My cruising companions were two children (7 & 9) and two seniors. We've traveled together previously and I would say that this was the easiest way to travel. There was plenty to do and see, of course abundant food, and simple but roomy accommodations (helpful to have space to relax during down time) and many places around the ship to settle in as well.
The gym - wow, gorgeous view and ...
Our First Cruise

Our family of 21 booked this cruise as a first time adventure for all of our families to vacation together. A primary focus for us was having 8 kids together so they could enjoy themselves and free up the adults to have grown up time!
Saturday - we took advantage of the extra day and did a day trip to Annapolis, ...
