The best way I can describe it is thinking you were going out for dinner and drinks at an upscale restaurant, and then winding up at applebees. My other frustration was skipping Bermuda because of the hurricane. Obviously weather cannot be controlled and safety always comes first. However, we were supposed to have an overnight stay at a beautiful island....and instead they stopped at port ...
My wife and I wanted to relax and clear our heads from some recent events and Costco had a decent offer for us. I'm just going to bullet point the main items and let everyone fill in the rest.
* The ship is in need of a big refresh. It is old and tired. Many small items......to many to mention, just hit a few big ones.
* Elevators were possessed. Press a floor button, doors close, feels ...
This was my first cruise since about age 19 and my partner's first cruise ever, we wanted to give cruising a try so we opted for something inexpensive leaving from a port within driving distance. We knew that this was not the fanciest or newest ship, so we had measured expectations. With that considered, we're laid-back people who didn't let the little issues bother us, so we had a good time and ...
This was a five day trip Baltimore to Bermuda and back. I thought I knew exactly what I was getting into as I had taken the same trip twice before, one and five years ago. Sadly, due mainly to the food, the trip was an expensive disappointment.
A) The boat: Vision of the seas seemed to be in good condition. Somewhat worn, but not in bad shape. The boat was clean.
B) Room service: our ...
We have cruised on big and little ships and our favorite was Enchantment out of Baltimore, we just loved it. I had hoped Vision would be similar - it is a sister ship in size. Somehow Vision lacked the elegance of Enchantment, and maybe the changes to the menu - both in the dining room and Windjammer - made it feel less. First, it was the most crowded ship we've ever been on. Maybe because it was ...
I chose this cruise as a way to see how much my new medical problem would affect my having fun. As it turned out, it basically had no negative effect on what I could do, so I'm good for the future!
Embarkation went very well. This particular ship's lay out was mostly easy to navigate. My inside cabin was quite stark in appearance, but since I only use it for sleeping, it was no big deal. The ...
This was my first time on Royal. Probably will be my last unless I get a really cheap deal. The overall experience was average. Some things were fantastic, like the crew. I can't believe how happy, friendly and helpful all of the crew were.
Food was below par, worst of any cruise I've been on. In the MDR, most of the food came out cold on the first night. We informed the wait staff and they ...
We chose the Carnival Legend from Baltimore to Bermuda because it was only a 2 hour drive from NJ, the dates worked well for us, and we did not want to fly to a cruise port as we did previously. This is our 3rd time cruising on Carnival (we have also cruised Royal) and this ship would rank 3rd if we ranked all 3 Carnival ships we have been on.
I guess the theme here is "lowered expectations". ...
Disappointing Cruise on Enchantment of the Seas - July 14, 2022
I have been cruising since the 1960’s and mainly on RCCL since the 1980’s, being a Diamond Plus now. I recently sailed on the Enhancement from Baltimore which is a great port to sail from. I had a balcony cabin. It was the biggest disappointment of all my cruises.
The ship is almost 25 years old and is worn and tired. It has ...
Had a good 5-night cruise to Bermuda on Enchantment of the Seas from 9 July to the 14th. It was a bit frustrating to deal with all the pre-board health issues and requirements for getting into Bermuda (yes, I understand the importance and in the end it was a bit of a relief to know everyone else had to through the same thing). Embarkation at Baltimore was fine, although we had go through a ...
