Tendering boats not running, a nightmare

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

This was the first of what I hoped to be many cruises on the Norwegian Dawn, but I can’t make myself get on that ship again. Major problems tendering in and out of ports, either because=abuse most of the boats were not in working order or because they did not have ebought people qualified to operate the boats. Either way, a terrifying situation if there had been an emergency. Waited 3 hours to ...

Extreme overcrowding, each day more and more sick people.

Just came off the Silhouette after 12 day cruise. Overall it was a unexpectedly poor experience primarily due to the severe overcrowding, every cabin packed, including many families with small children. All cabins were booked, lots of cabins seemed to be filled with families with 1-3 kids. I realize this was school holiday period in UK so we expected some amount of kids, but we thought given ...

Disappointing Iceland & Norway on NCL Star

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

We recently had a very disappointing cruise on the NCL Star in July 2023. We have been on many NCL cruises dating back to 1996 on the Seaward and we have come to like a great many things about NCL cruises. One of the best was on the Jewel in 2019 to Australia and SE Asia. NCL has been one of our favorite cruise lines. Our disappointment with our cruise to Iceland and Norway in July 2023 began ...

Silver Moon Iceland

I've always heard how amazing Silversea Cruises are, but I was completely underwhelmed for many reasons. First I believe the crew hates Iceland since they're mostly from Philippines and Nigeria. I think they are doing their best but nothing like I read about prior to my cruise. The food was mediocre at best, especially in the main dining room, Atlantide. Pool grill was the best but in spite of ...

Itinerary Too Weather-Dependent

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

This felt like a Groundhog Day cruise that never was. The intended cruise itinerary was 3 Iceland and 3 Greenland ports, with 1 tender in total. We phoned Norwegian in advance and they insisted that there was only 1 tender, even though our quick research online indicated that there were definitely 4 tender ports with this itinerary. This matters to people who are disabled, elderly, or simply ...

Missed 37.5% of ports

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Scotland, Ireland, England cruise Common spaces very crowded, yet the high prices restaurants were vacant. We think they have way too many high prices restaurants which could have been more open spaces for all to relieve cramping. Missed 3 of 8 ports due to Norwegian choosing to do tenders (5 tender ports - which they did not advertise). The port stops were cancelled due to high winds. ...

Don’t waste your money

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and because we use to love NCL… not anymore. We were not communicating with at all. There Was only supposed to be 1 tender port and there were 5. We were not told this until boarding the ship. We missed 3 out of those 5 ports due to “bad weather”. We were told at the last minute as the boat turned away from places we had dreamed about going. But ...

Where did this cruise line go?

Myself and friends chose Regent cruise because we were past Radisson-Regent passengers. always wanted to go to Baltic but now no St.Petersburg (not Regents fault). However right before cruise Regent cancelled Gdansk, which was a highlight. We were never told why but other cruise lines went. First major caveat - the wi-fi was a big problem with with the premium package - numerous cut ...

Fantastic itinerary let down by very poor service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Island Princess

Timing and a great itinerary leaving from Southampton made me choose The Island Princess. I came on it solo and am a ballroom dancer and was hoping to meet other like-minded people. Sadly I have to say I have been very very disappointed and what could have been a great cruise has come out, in my opinion, below all the other four cruise lines, Cunard, Fred Olsen, MSC and P&O, I have travelled ...

Mixed Emotions

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Island Princess

t I travel with my partner Janet. We chose this cruise for the itinerary. 33 days with ports in Iceland and Norway. The Island Princess seemed to be the perfect way to visit the northern ports and June the perfect season to do so. This is not the review I had hoped to write when we made the reservations. The disappointment was not with the itinerary, but the ship. No, not even the ship, but ...
