I flew from Houston to London and arrived the day before the cruise. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Heathrow and would highly recommend it. This was my first time on P&O Cruises. It mainly caters to British cruisers and many of the passengers I met have only cruised P&O. Their website states that their Elegant Nights are very formal. Many of the men wore tuxes, but some wore a jacket ...
We have been on over 80 cruises and about 30 with Princess. We booked this because of the itinerary and that it had a glass dome over the pool. The pool area was not heated and we sat on the chaise lounges with our coats on. I will only comment on the things that Princess had control over.
The Good: Embarkation was probably one of the best we have encountered. Disembarkation was also the ...
We have 17 overall cruises, this was our 11th with princess. after the last on on the ruby, i was so let down i swore never again but!! The ports of call on this one said, one more time!! huge mistake. remember in days of old the soap was real, chocolates on the pillows and princess shopping bags for going ashore:) now it liquid everything, towels that actually smelled like paint and those ...
Chose this cruise as for 12 nights there were 8 ports of call so not many sea days. Sadly a massive storm started on the day of embarkation and messed up the whole trip. Delayed departure and then two ports were cancelled which couldn't be helped. Weather was atrocious throughout. Ship was packed and there was no "quiet space". All public areas were too small and you were continually on top of ...
The cruise was a fairly typical cruise until the final night of the cruise. I was standing on my room's balcony observing the departure from the port of Le Havre, France. Now remember that every cruise line you have ever sailed on repeatedly lectures you on not throwing anything overboard. I was standing there enjoying the departure when I was deluged with an unknown liquid from the deck above. I ...
Hadn’t been to 3 of the ports, and 10 nights sounded good.
Didn’t anticipate having to constantly pay for transfers from the ship to the destination!
It’s a big ship and therefore had to dock in commercial docks,
Entertainment - the shows were first class but during g the day was pretty poor
Food was excellent- although busy on sea days!
Definitely take the drinks package, great ...
Dining: There appears to be a variety of dining options but it feels like they serve the same food with different presentation. The food itself is alright but they ran out of hash browns on the third or fourth day and never resupplied. Also either ran out of Drambuie and Shiraz or never had it on board at all despite both items still being on the menu. The beer selection was uninspired and the ...
I chose this cruise because of the ports it advertised to visit: Paris, Bordeaux, Brussels and Amsterdam, also included Hamburg. Once I booked and tried to get excursions, I was told they were full, no longer available. For Paris, I had to book with an outside travel site because they had nothing available. During the cruise, they canceled on the actual day 3 excursions to Brussels, Hamburg and ...
I have been on quite a few cruises and never had poor enough experiences to feel the need to write a review to inform others of what they might be getting into, until now. With other cruise lines, they personalize your experience and make you feel welcomed aboard like you are part of their family and they have been expecting you. This was not the case with Norwegian. They could NOT care less about ...
We chose this cruise based on the ports visited. We have cruised many times before but this was our first NCL experience.
We opted for a suite within the Haven which was the best decision we made.
The suite was comfortable and spacious, our butler Bernie was always reachable but not in your face.
We enjoyed the perks such as being escorted on and off the ship, also priority seating and ...
