Honestly I had high hopes for this cruise but after, I can say I am beyond disappointed. From the activities provided all the way down to not being on time for port, and then canceling our last day. All the fun activities you have to PAY for, even though you bought the tickets to be on the ship. The free open activities consist of the ropes course and water slides/pool, which are outside and since ...
I have cruised with Celebrity Cruise Lines for many cruises and this one ranks as the worst one ever. On this cruise the Blu restaurant was disgusting, typically in Blu the service is excellent especially at breakfast time with someone always going around with coffee and someone else with pastries but not on this cruise we always had to ask for more coffee and was only offered pastries twice most ...
I shall return to the reason for my title heading a little later in this review.
We had not cruised with Celebrity in twenty years (the last being on the Infinity in Alaska) so therefore not in their Solstice class ships, so it was hard to give a true comparison, except to say that by and large this cruise was great value for money!
Both pre and post covid, we have chosen to sail on the ...
Choose for the price and ports, but what a mistake. I'm sure you have read about the terrible food, but that just doesn't do it justice. All meat is served cold and raw, including bacon and hot dogs. Dinner always includes a (venomous) Cuttlefish and Squid salad (?) or some kind of (hopefully worm) under prepared fish, that I was was to scared to order.
The staff is friendly and attentive and ...
We recently completed a 14-day Search for the Northern Lights cruise to Norway. Although we had quite a few days with rough seas, the Island Princess handled the seas well. Our cabin was spacious and the balcony was larger than on many ships. Some of the cabin furnishings clearly need to be replaced. Our mini-suite couch and chair looked very worn. The bed also had clear indentations of where ...
Can't say enough good things about this cruise. It started with an easy embarkation. The lines moved swiftly through security. Dropped my bags off in my cabin and headed for lunch. The buffet was good overall. We did have a few occasions when finding a table was difficult. The food and service were very good. Selection was vast as always with a great omelet station. Food in the MDR was ...
Norwegian Getaway is a ship that is totally centred on it's mainly USA clientele. We weren't expecting that - for a no-fly cruise from/to Southampton encompassing mainly Northern Europe. There were no concessions to it's UK passengers in terms of catering (no British back bacon - just the dreadful American stuff. No HP sauce, no Marmite, no skimmed milk) Minor niggles I accept - but without ...
We were looking forward to our first time sailing with Celebrity having previously tried P&O, Ambassador and Cunard (mainly TA on current QM but 1 med cruise on current QE) On TA crossings several people we've spoken to have commented that Celebrity's food was much better than Cunards so we were especially looking forward to the dining. We've always enjoyed the food on Cunard and found Ambassadors ...
Mostly enjoyed our second trip on the Silhouette. Food and entertainment were great and staff very friendly and helpful. The staff member for our room he could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Unfortunately for the second time (we have only had two cruises!) we both contracted COVID which ruined the last couple of days (I was unable to visit Bayeux - the highlight of my trip). Upon ...
Below is a brief review of our sailing on Queen Mary 2, September 20-29, 2023, 9 nights, from Hamburg to Southampton and on to New York.
This was part of a 5 week trip that began in Milan, Italy at the end of August, and included a 7 night sailing on the Azamara Onward from Rome to Venice.
We were in an Interior cabin with a window overlooking the multi-story lobby. We had noticed these ...
