Hi I have done 10 cruises with other cruise lines but mainly MSC. I had to do this cruise to use up a deposit for a previous cruises cancelled due to COVID. So Celebrity is 5 star well I did not get that feeling at all and the shows by the entertainment crew were not really up to standard. I must add the acrobats and rope work we're good. Food was like any other cruise but the Buffet was ...
This was my 1st time with celebrity. Was expecting my experience to be a cut above the rest. If did not live up to expectations in virtually all departments. I'll start with a positive:- our balcony cabin was a good size, clean and comfortable. Only complaint was from my wife that when underway there was mechanical noise which disturbed her sleep, personally it did not bother me.
Restaurant ...
Birthday treat for my grandsons aged 10 & 3
The corridor’s on the ship are wide and spacious, not like other cruise ship where they are narrow difficult for pushchairs/wheelchairs
Amazing ship with plenty to do for the older children but be prepared to queue
Plenty of swimming pools life guards are amazing
Food was good plenty of choice, beware Johnny R u have to pay
We only used ...
We chose this cruise because friends who live in the USA were boarding in New York and it was an ideal opportunity to meet up with them. The QM 2 is looking really tired but one can excuse that to some extent. We made a late booking so couldn’t get the cabin of our choice but really nothing to complain about our sheltered balcony cabin, plenty of storage and a comfy bed, our housekeeper, Hugo was ...
MSC DID WELL: the nightly entertainment was excellent. Jennifer Tierney had such a powerful voice. The ship singers and dancers were superb and well choreographed. The 3 tenors performance was exceptional. The room stewards and main dining room staff worked very hard to ensure we were well looked after. The pizza in the buffet was incredible...dare I say...addictive. I have lots of new weight I ...
My wife and I have been on cruises with all the major lines. This cruise was magical. First --hats off to Cunard for even adding this itinerary--chasing the Northern Lights in Norway was a gamble. It was spectacular --and we had two ports cancelled as a result of storms. This ship is not a "rust bucket"--it is a beautiful and understated ship with great common areas; great staff; the best ...
Just disembarked following a 7 night northern Europe cruise with my family,
So lets get the first point out the way which is value of the cruise. This was £600 each including 2 x balcony cabins, easy plus drinks package and wifi. This really is exceptional value and so I did expect a few things not to be up to scratch at this price point, but thankfully there were very few compromises.
I ...
Chose this cruise because it was going to Hamburg a destination we had planned to visit before Covid stopped the world!
It was really quite a good experience, the ship, although a bit glitzy for our taste was clean and well run. Dining was well organised, and although I wouldn't describe it as 5 star, was well presented, efficiently served by excellent staff and certainly adequate.
Bar ...
Chose the cruise for the port stops and that we had never used MSC before. The price was good, and departed from Southampton.
Check in was really smooth and easy, as was the parking before that.
No real greeting as we boarded just given a flyer, not even the daily program.
Cabin was ok, what we expected. A little dusty from the massive over sized air conditioner. Cabin steward didn't ...
SUMMARY
The main reason for joining this cruise is the chance see the Northern Lights, as the Ports visited are not very interesting, especially when it is cold and wet. Island Princess is now the smallest ship in the Princess Fleet (as is Coral Princess), has limited dining options and only two main lounges. Food and service were good. Daytime entertainment was poor but we had a great bunch ...
