Group outing my first time on a cruise and it was the worst experience. They bust u across the head with the prices for everything. Cabin was clean they didn't have enough towels no rags no toilet paper lil channels on tv, TV very small in cabin. Bad odor in hallways. Food was horrible that came with the purchase of the cruise. Not enough activities very quiet and laid bt nt enough partying. Not much for kids to do in game room which I had to pay for as well. Teen club had to pay for. I paid more money on the ship then the whole cruise. Pretty much had to pay for everything you wanted to do outside of your cabin. Employees were not friendly nor attractive with the guest nor informative. They wanted you to pay for wifi which sucked. Came with a big group and getting off the ship to go to the beach was horrible they wanted to charge us 7 dollars to the beach and 7 dollars beach to the ship each person. So never really experienced the Bahamas what a waste of money. I will never get back on this cruise line nor recommend anyone else to get on this cruise and waste their money. My first cruise and I hated it. Read Less

Cheap and very good cruise, the buffet is very varied and in general cleanliness I give a 10. good attention to the customers. Comfortable beds and quite fun. recommended. I want to go back next year. My wife and I were an ocenview room. the theater show was phenomenal, tremendous dancers. Live music for all tastes willing to please you. I really want to go back next year. I took the excursion to Grand Lucaya. its a Beautiful place. Exceptional The saxophone show in the encore salon. the Game for couples stole laughter from everyone present. If you love to play, the casino is very well suited. Yellow Elder restaurant has excellent entrees included in the price and likewise additional dishes at a moderate price. the cleanliness is spectacular. the staff is concerned about constantly keeping everything clean and very organized. The area for jogging is excellent. I recommend this cruise 100%! ! ! Read Less

I just got back from a 2-night cruise on the Grand Celebration with a group of 7 others and we had a great time! For an older ship, it's in very good shape. The carpets and furniture still look new and since they don’t allow smoking in the casino, or in ANY indoor areas, there was no musty smell at all. Food – We all ate in the MDR the first night and a few of us hit the buffet the second night. We all thought the food was good. Even the gluten-free and vegan members of our group were well accommodated. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss as it is on a lot of cruise ships, but there was an omelet station for anyone who wanted fresh eggs and plenty of standard breakfast items in the buffet. There was pizza and a late night buffet that featured tacos one night and Greek selections on the second. No one ordered the room service but it featured some basic sandwiches or the gourmet burgers for an additional charge. We also missed out on the poolside BBQ but heard good things about it. Entertainment – We were all surprised at the range of entertainment options available on this ship. There was champagne piano bar which was low-key and relaxing most of the time except when the Tina Turner impersonator took to the floor. She was fun! There is a lounge connected to the casino which featured a band playing classic rock, a Latin dance club, a sports bar/ disco, karaoke out by the pool and an area on the aft deck called the Dancing Martian with party lighting that perfect for a glow (black light) party. The production shows featured the dancers along with a magician and the comedian the first night and an “around the world dance styles” show the next. Overall, I’d give the shows a B- as the singing didn’t quite measure up to the dancing. There were plenty of audience participation games in the lounges and pool deck for those that wanted to play along. Outside – One of the disadvantages of the older ship design are the small pool areas. The main pool is a bit small but the one on the aft deck allowed for more pool options along with two Jacuzzis. There is a larger Jacuzzi on the forward top deck that serves as an adults-only area. They are putting the final touches on a new bar to serve that area which should be open soon. Although the sailing was sold out, we never felt like any part of the ship was overcrowded. Cabins – The cabins are on the larger side as this is a former Carnival ship. I had some issues getting hot water in the shower a couple of times which was one of my few complaints about the cruise. Staff – We found everyone on the ship to be pleasant and accommodating. Our cabin steward always greeted us with a smile and assistant cruise director Dohne was very helpful and took time to assist us with our questions about the ship. Port – There is absolutely nothing to do around the Freeport cruise terminal, so any day trips need to be arranged with the tours desk or on your own with a taxi. Overall, we found the ship to be a good value and a lot of fun. It would seem most of the complaints posted here seem to be coming from people who were expecting an amazing bargain. Yes, you have to pay for parking, port fees, taxes, a $1 terminal fee and gratuities. I wouldn’t call those “hidden fees”. They are pretty much standard in the cruise industry. I spoke to several people who were repeat cruisers on the Grand Celebration. For the locals, it’s a quick, fun, affordable getaway that doesn’t eat up all of your vacation time. I agree! Read Less

Went with a group of friends and had a great time! Embarkation was easy, not crazy like it is when departing from Ft Lauderdale or Miami. We had read about the valet-only parking, so we parked elsewhere and took an Uber to the port. You can shop for shore excursions and buy drink coupons before boarding, or wait until you get on the ship. We are beer drinkers, so were pleasantly surprised that there were many good choices on board, not just the bland light beers they show on the promotional materials. We checked our bags with a porter and just took our small backpacks on board and headed for the dining room. The lunch buffet was a bit meager on choices, but quality was good, especially the desserts. Cabins were ready at about 1:30-2:00. Cabin was fine; more spacious than I would have thought. It was a bit confusing trying to figure out when and where our dining time was, but we got there. The food was great and the service very attentive and friendly. The lounge entertainment was terrific; the production show in the theater - not so much. I was pleasantly surprised that the casino was non-smoking. It also offered more games than I would have expected on a smaller ship like this. Public areas were nicely maintained and the decor was great. Overall, I was surprised at how well the ship was maintained, because I know it is an older ship.. We were not part of the time-share sales pitch, so I can't speak to that. We did our own thing in Freeport, renting cars and scooters and checking out various beaches. There are some beach clubs that look like they would be a lot of fun. Overall, I would say that this was a very fun cruise, and well worth what we paid. Read Less

This was my first cruise. I had a great time from the start to the finish. Every step along the was was very well organized. The staff from the beginning to the end were very polite, professional and friendly. Everyone in their own specialties catered to our needs; the help desk, waiters and the housekeeping staff. I only eat veg and seafood and I had lots of selections. Entertainment was for every age group; and the entertainers ensured everyone had a great time. Thanks to everyone involved for the excellent memories and for a relaxing vacations. The tours the next day were also fun and filled with activities of my selections. My only recommendation is that I thought the music was too loud and always blaring from the speakers. It would be nice to have a quite time to listen to the waves and gentle humming of the engines. Again thanks for everything, hopefully I will be back. Read Less

I want to saw, my hats is off to the employees at Grand Celebration Cruise Ship. Everyone was super nice and very helpful. The food was excellent and their was plenty of it, must have gained 10lbs or more. I have been on other cruises but this one was the best by far. Our room was fresh and clean, their were plenty of activities that kept us busy, one big party. If anyone is planning a cruse the Grand Celebration won't disappoint. Thanks again for the great memories. The price was affordable and we booked the Bahamas stay for 5 days and 2 day Cruise through Royal Seas Cruise Line. Everything was included from 3 nights in Orlando and 5 days in Bahamas and then 3 night in Ft Lauderdale. What a wonderful time we had, well worth the money spent. Again if your looking for a cruise you simply cannot afford to pass up the Grand Celebration Cruise Line. This cruse is for everyone who wants to have a good time. Read Less

We attended this cruise as part of a 20+ persons group celebrating our friends renewal of vows after 30 years of marriage. The ship and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We had an issue upon boarding when some of us who had purchased a Drinks Package were not listed on the Ship's roster. within 5 minutes they had an officer solve the issue. The food was average at best, which we expected. For those cruising for the first time on this ship, please realize you should not expect 5 Star dinning !! Regardless the food was acceptable with the service being above average. The only annoying occurrence was that even though we had an 'All you Can Drink" package, the ship's rules are that a bill was printed (with a $0 Balance) and had to be signed every time a drink was ordered...I had writer's cramp, halfway through the cruise!!! Entertainment was enjoyable...Overall, we had a pleasant experience and will more than likely sail again in the near future. Read Less

I did a lot of research before I purchased this cruise. I got a 'deal' through groupon, $269 for two people. When I called to book the cruise, I had to pay $65 per person for port fees. We arrived at 130pm, only way to park your car is valet, $18/ night, and only cash. There were about 300 people as we entered, no clear direction as to what was going on, we had to fill out paperwork for our on board credit account. We waiting about 2 hours in a line to get the room keys, and our info inputted ( which I had already done when I booked the cruise) . After this process we headed on board. The cruise ship is an old Carnival ship, VERY clean and polite staff ( this was the highlight) . They had a variety of entertainment that was suitable, nothing over the top. An adult comedy show was $12/ person, and wasn't that great. Check your weather as we had terrible motion sickness. We chose to venture out on our own once we arrived in Freeport. They loaded up 10 people per taxi for a 15 minute ride ( $10 round trip / person ) here you got to see the hurricane damage and a 'shopping center' with each store selling the same expensive stuff. $20 for a DORA shirt that said bahamas. AWFUL!! Honestly I would've just purchased souvenirs at the freeport port as you exit the boat and then spent the day on the now quiet boat. The excursions were expensive $100+ and I heard they weren't the best. A lot of people did they 2/4 night stay at a resort in the bahamas and apparently that was awesome. We had two twin beds pushed together to make a makeshift bed, it was awful and didnt lock even after asking housekeeping. Alcohol is very expensive, cheapest bottle is $100 of absolut, and soda you pay $20+ for unlimited . I would recommend getting drinks individually ( they had 50% off drinks during the entertainment, so wait for that) the drink package was $70 and was 10 8oz drinks, not worth it. $12 for a cocktail. Food was okay, set up was great, but certain things didnt taste right. we were sick and left the Stellar restaurant but the food looked amazing , also, there are two restaurants that are an additional charge, The Bull and Admiral club. You need your room key to get towels, and if you dont return them at the given time you are charged $20 per towel, same with room towels, if housekeeping comes by and you have taken a towel you get charged. Overall, we spent over $600 and this is without the excursions, definitely a waste for two mediocre days. DONT get this cruise, rather go to the Keys in a 5 star hotel. Read Less

memorable and enjoyable place to vacation. It looked like a poor third world country. We refused to even get off the cart and had it take us right back to where we came from. We ended up walking down to the Hilton and having a few drinks at the outdoor bar until we were able to go back to the ship. The food provided in the “cafeteria” was embarrassing. All everyone kept telling me was how much I would love the food and the variety of items offered. Every time we went to the buffet the food looked like it was frozen, processed and reheated. We ate each meal at the outdoor grill where we could watch it be prepared or in the Prime restaurant. To add insult to injury when we finally made it back and were ready to de-board the next day we were told that we had to go back to the service desk as there was a “hold on our release”. I got upstairs to the service desk and was advised that my card was declined for $86 worth of incurred charges, that even included FUEL for the boat… I can’t even begin to understand how you would have the audacity to charge each passenger for fueling the boat but nonetheless I called my card company and was advised that there was a fraud protection hold that was on my card for a suspicious charge. Come to find out it was the drinks at the Hilton bar in Bimini but because it was in another country they took security measures. I advised the charge was authorized and was told the hold would be released in 24 hours. I relayed this to your customer service representative who then stated that I would be held on the boat until the balance was paid. After I explained to him that that was unlawful imprisonment, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was first told there was not one available and when I insisted I was asked to wait. In my HOUR LONG wait for a supervisor I overheard dozens of passengers who had issues with credit card authorizations, one young lady had actually been asked to come the night before because they could not read the imprint on her card, she supplied it again on a new authorization form and THEY LOST IT!!!! Needless to say, after listening to complaint after complaint after complaint about charges I never actually saw a supervisor. The same gentleman kept telling me that “she” was on her way and when I started reiterating that I had a flight to catch he understood the importance of them moving expeditiously. However, I never spoke with a supervisor. I was told to wait for another half hour and then asked to sign a promissory note BY THE SAME GENTLEMAN WHO TOLD ME TO WAIT for the remaining balance (which I could have done from the very beginning when I advised they could run the card again in the morning as they had all the necessary information) After an hour and a half of waiting we were released to get off the boat but immediately heard an announcement that the customs area was full and they were asking people not to de-board until they could get caught up. We waited another 30 minutes before we were allowed to proceed off the boat and spent 2 hours in the customs area. Not only did I miss my flight but I missed a second flight home and we were not able to leave Florida until 8pm that evening (from a 10:40am flight). I spent my entire birthday sitting in customs and then sitting in an airport. My fiancée made dinner plans for the family that evening as my flight would have put me home at 2pm and the guest of honor was unable to attend as she was stranded in Florida, though we had family travel from out of state to celebrate with me. I have never been more disgusted with a company in my entire life. The professionalism, the un-organization, the blatant disregard for your passengers time, when offering such a poor experience is mind blowing. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it is convenient for us to leave from the port of Palm Beach and being only a 2 night cruise, it was easy to getaway. It was my husband's birthday & the cruise visited his home town, of Freeport , Grand Bahama. The ship was very comfortable & clean. Our cabin, which had been upgraded to an outside room, was well appointed, even providing a blow-dryer for hair! We really prefer to do our own thing, especially since we have experience on the island, so we did not take any of the offered shore excursions. We found our way to some shops & cafes for some Bahamian dishes...conch fritters & peas & rice...plus banana daiquiris served in coconut shells. Then made out way to a beach near the ship & swam & did some beachcombing. We had perfect weather, never even a white-cap on the ocean. Absolutely the calmest seas of any cruise I have ever taken. The food on board was never ending. There was always something being served near the pool or just inside at a buffet. We dined in the Stellar Prime didning room both evenings and were very pleased that our request for a private table for 2 was honored both nights. Our waiters & wine stewardess were very friendly & gave us great service. Read Less
