I chose the cruise for the Panama Canal Crossing and Costa Rica destination. The cruise was good and service was excellent. However there was false advertising: 1) The ad says India food available. When we boarded we were told that India food is available only for dinner and not for breakfast and lunch. In the dinners also India food was missing for 3 out of 9 dinners. We were to request repeatedly to get Indian food. The picture attached shows a full platter of Indian food, while in reality there was only one curry and rice. The Indian food tasted like out of can. Greatly disappointed. 2) The ad says Rocky and Rollers Band (refer to the picture attached). The band was changed to some other cheaper band and saxophone and no communication. This was clear false advertising and disappointing. 3) The deck 9 & 10 were leaking water. The ship needs a make over. 4) For the Grand Cayman 7 mile beach excursion, no snorkels were provided and we were to rent the equipment on the beach. 50% of the excursion fees was refunded after several complaints. 5) Cabin needs makeover. Refer to Cabin review. Read Less

2-days cruise price awesome. Neither pools on ship were operational for the entire cruise. Both had closed signs on them. Ship needs a major overhaul, caution tape everywhere and not sure if its always like this or if they are updating but there were no signs that they were remodeling or a sign saying excuse our mess. Everything is an up charge. You pay for an add on packages and when you go to cash in on them there is like 18% charge + a gratuity added at the end of your cruse for each person in your party. Returning boat left port late at night so they view while cruising was null. Food was nothing to write home about and drinks were $$$. When you first board they hound you for drinks, following you around trying to sell Bahama mama with souvenir cup, to the point you have to get rude with them to leave you alone. The room was clean and nice size. Overall was not impressed i would give it a D. Read Less

The ship is not bad. Scheduled to leave at 5:30 pm, I waited until 8:00 pm to see the ship leave the Port and was still there ...... Few activities on board. Restaurant good. Friendly service. The destination: Grand Bahama is terrible, poor, ugly . Better not even get off the ship. On the way back, you are practically pushed out of the ship and we could not dispute the bill they leave at the door of your cabin. To make matters worse, the bag I left in the car that was in the parking lot of Porto, exclusive to who embarks on the ship, was stolen !!! Clothing, Shoes, Cosmetics... Positives: friendly crew, nice restaurant, quiet trip. Negatives: noisy cabin, disembarkation And immigration slow and without respect for the elderly, few options for drinks on board and expensive, besides the rate of 18% on top of everything, the destination of this Cruise is a very bad idea..... Much Older but refurnished vessel. It’s clean and staff is very friendly. The Staterooms were larger than expected. The dining hours and locations are confusing. The entertainment on deck is kinda lame. I found myself constantly comparing them to Carnival and Royal Caribbean. It’s such a downgrade, even the comedian called this cruise line the “Greyhound” of the Sea. The comedian and magician were the best acts, we witnessed. We experienced a Tropical Storm in Bahamas so spent the day on the ship. Which was tough, not much to do with two 16 year olds. I won’t travel on Paradise Cruiseline, ever again. The port offers absolutely NOTHING.. industrial area in Freeport. And it’s lacking a variety onboard, from food, activities, and etc. You get what you pay for!!! Spend the extra money to have more options and better entertainment on and off the cruise vessel. Please and Thank You! Read Less

This was the first cruise for my husband & I. We went with friends who have been on cruises. It's a very quick getaway & we did it to see if we could handle cruising. We knew from the price we paid it would be a cheap cruise & had little expectations. People go on cruises for the amazing food. Every single meal was absolutely awful with no flavor at all. It was extremely disappointing to the 4 of us. Our room was on level 4 & was spacious for a cruise, I was expecting smaller. The room was very clean & they came in twice a day. This was the most impressive part. For the excursion we went to the beach because we just wanted to relax......we had the open bar & ordered food.....it was the only good food we ate the entire time. We bought the drink packages thinking it was a good deal, but we didn't use them all. We should have bought 1 package between the 2 of us. We also bought the cup for $18 with the first "free drink". That didn't work out well for us either but whatever. Live and learn. We got off the ship sunday morning at 7:30am & went to Fort Lauderdale. Spent the rest of the day there eating good food. We caught a flight home Monday morning at 7am. Read Less

Embarkation was ok. It felt a little rushed when being given instruction filling out paperwork to get registered. They seemed to favor stating you need a credit card on file. I get they are a no cash cruise but they never seemed interested in letting people know they have the option of putting cash on their ship card in the beginning. Even after I said I would rather not use a credit card they still ignored that I had other options. Being a newbie to a cruise I was a little overwhelmed with what to expect, especially trotting along with a busy body toddler. The lines where very long. Not sure what would have been the best time to arrive to avoid the crowd. We got there around 1pm for check in and must have been in the line for at least what felt like 2 hours. Once on board I wiped down every surface I could for my family’s health. The bathroom mirror had a glass holder that was layered with dust. No wash clothes in site, until I asked for them. Despite having a toddler signed up in this cabin I still had to request a life jacket for my child. The shower heads could use some good cleaning as well. Shower curtain needs help as well. I realized this was an old ship so I looked past a lot until the end of this trip. I will get to that soon. But since I am on the topic of the cabin, at the end of the trip I checked under the bed for any forgotten items. There was nothing, but dust layered under there. Still being optimistic and forgiving. Dining was ok. The staff readily available in keeping the place clean and stocked and quickly as they could. Food was good. The flow of people was never crowded till the last day for breakfast. The "free champagne breakfast" was lovely, this was a freebie for 1st morning on cruise. Can't recall the restaurant name but staff was friendly. There was plenty of activities to participate in for a fee. We toured the ship when we first arrived and saw all the areas of activities. From the dining, to the jacuzzi, go down a flight and your in the kiddie pool area with slides, into the gym located right next to the spa, with the secured children area, exiting this area led to the casino and band area, keep walking you will run into the photo area, leading right to the stage performance location where they brief you on safety. We had fun that night for karaoke and whatever we came across. Next day after breakfast we took a taxi to Lucaya Marketplace. Shopped and went to the beach. There were jet skis there. We enjoyed ourselves. My toddler had fun getting sand everywhere, literally. Husband had a blast, but the weather turned on us and got us drenched, which made me a bit miserable, but I let it go quickly to finish enjoying my trip. They lost out on a lot of money because they refused cash on a lot of things. Like the photo area. You could not pay cash at all even in the very end of the cruise. Overall, I thought I would come back until the check out returned us to the desk. Which by the way we got several papers in our door mailbox, one on the 1st day and 2 the next day, to see them about our credit account. We resolved each time but apparently not completely. Before we exited the ship we were sent back to clear it. Ourselves and multiple other passengers had to dispute wrong transactions added to our tabs. If they say it’s free for some reason they charge you first and say they will return the funds at the end. It’s like a rebate program at a store. They tried to charge me for the "free champagne breakfast", stating it was free for one person only. I quickly pulled out my evidence that no it was indeed for two as I was told and what the website states. I was not a happy customer anymore by that time. So many lies and confusion it was frustrating to say the least. Other people around me arguing about drinks on their tab they never had, just like myself. All the little things added up in the end where it left me not wanting to ever deal with them, just because I found the issues were dumb things that are easily fixable. Still contemplating if I would give them a chance again. But I look forward to trying a more experienced cruise line next before I consider this one. I also must give credit to the kind crew. Front desk not so much. Read Less

Okay, so you're going to say "you get what you pay for", but you deserve better! Pay the extra $100 for better quality! Its not the ship (which is older and smaller, so it produces more pollutants so beware when the ship is sailing and your at the back of the ship), its the crew/staff and the fine print! Of course you have some crew that are nice (mostly bartenders), but they obviously do not get the same training as other better quality cruise ships, especially customer service and anyone that you need to call. My friend and I needed customer service for the exact same thing, i went to one member and she to another, I was able to do what i needed, but they other guy told her no. There is a lack of communication, and it is obvious on the faces of the crew that they do not want to be there because they are overworked and underpaid. Wait staff at the restaurants are terrible, and took forever to change courses. As for activities, shows were very high schooly, in terms of performance except for one or two actors. It lacked a sharpness for having to repeat it so often. Spa was ok (i had a decent experience with a facial, but my friend's manicure was done in less than 10 minutes, not exaggerating), but obviously rushed to get in as many people as possible. The cruise frequently has extra charges. They actually CHARGE for the comedian. I have never seen that on another cruise ship. Its always included. You will be nickeled and dimed for many things. Expect to have a good hundred dollars extra because there will be things you never would have thought of. Not surprising is alcohol, but the drinks were small for $10 a pop, plus an automatic 18% for gratuity. Even if the service is bad they get 18%. There was only a few servers that i felt deserved that much. The cruise line should be paying them more appropriately. Food was cafeteria food. Sometimes they would try to make it look fancy, but it was still bland and lacked variety. I've had better lean cuisines. We decided not to do a shore excursion after seeing a review of the island on YouTube, which worked in our favor because we could get into the pools with less people. But man, that view! I hope you love the sight of shipping docks full of containers and boats, and oil pads with rusty ships! Don't forget the eyesore of the oil refineries! There are tons of them! If you get yourself in the right spot, you may be able to take a picture, crop out the edges for your friends to fool them into thinking this was amazing. Overall, nope. If this is the first cruise you have ever been on, maybe you'll like it because you have nothing else to compare it to. But once you go you will find a lot of unhappy campers who felt that they were misled. Read Less

The entire experience from start to finish with this company was a total rip-off. Getting on the ship took an hour at the counter...we paid for our family of four, they had us booked in a room for only two people. Our table was given to someone else, even though we had dinner reservations for a specific time; we ended up sitting with another family for dinner. Then, they used scare tactics to have you buy into their excursions and ground transportation. There was not much activities for the kids to participate in; the overall service was not worth the money we spent. The only good thing we all enjoyed was the evening shows that had a variety of comedy, acts, singing and dancing. Our family plan on cruising again; but definitely not with this company. Even other guests that we talked to on the ship did not like the service received. (I wonder how they are still in business) Read Less

We booked this ship for a Bahamas cruise but we ended up going to Bimini instead of Grand Bahama Island because of a storm. As a result, none of the advertised excursions were available. Fine, we tried to go with the flow. Check in was easy, you provide your credit card for tips and incidentals and they give you a sail card linked to your account. Our luggage which had to be searched (they confiscate any alcohol you bring with you). They brought our luggage to our room 4 hours later and left it outside the door. You might want to pack your carry-on with everything you’ll need right away. When trying to board the ship, we were pressured to buy drink tickets, bottles of wine and souvenirs. Trick #1: DON’T DO IT! The drink tickets come in a pack of 10 coupons and you have to present a coupon and your sail card every time you want to order a drink. If you do a drink package, DO NOT order a drink at the same time as someone else in your party with a coupon. My companion had her own coupons and sail card but the waitress would take both coupons and use only one sail card. What this did was rack up more than the allowed 10 drinks on my sail card and I was charged for the extra drinks which were already paid for by my companion. Also, if you buy alcohol from the duty free store you can’t take it with you and drink it. It is provided to you when you disembark. Trick #2: They significantly reduce the cost of the upgrade to a balcony suite at check in. We upgraded to a balcony suite and when we got to the room we had an obscured view because the life boats are all situated in front of the balcony rooms. ALL the balcony rooms have obscured views but they don’t tell you that. Trick #3: There were only a couple excursions offered so we booked a snorkeling excursion to the Sapona shipwreck. After taking a 30-minute tender to the island we were told that the ocean was too rough and we would not be able to snorkel the shipwreck but could get a refund once back on board. We decided to explore the island instead and then head back to the ship. Trying to get back on board the ship was a NIGHTMARE! One of the tender boats had broken down so there was only one boat every hour and a half. The line at the dock was extremely long and we ended up waiting almost 2.5 hours in line before we could get back on the tender. There was no direction from the staff and security was not keeping the lines orderly. People were cutting to the front and a fight broke out. There were no working bathrooms (the island shuts the water off at a certain time). The boat finally arrives and people were shoving and pushing their way onto the tender. We finally get back to the ship and request a refund for the snorkeling that was cancelled but they only give us half the money back and charged us for a “beach day.” We spoke to the tour manager Angeli but she was very rude and wouldn’t do anything to rectify the situation because in their fine print they have the right to charge us if we leave the ship at all. Trick #4: We found the food at the buffet extremely mediocre so we opted to pay for a nice dinner at their only fine restaurant, the Admiralty Club. I paid $30 for a filet mignon. The next night we ate at their Prime Stellar restaurant and the waiter told us that we could get the same menu items from the Admiralty Club but at half the price. The left side of the menu was offered at no charge but the right side of the menu was upgraded menu items from the Admiralty Club but at half the cost so eating at the Admiralty Club is straight a waste of money. Service was poor in both restaurants. Trick #5: The charges that you incur are grouped in multiple charges to your card. I had four separate charges to my credit card which didn’t match my receipts at all. I attempted to reconcile the charges from the invoice provided on the last day but it didn’t match what was charged from my account. I spoke to customer service but again, she was rude and refused to look at all my receipts in an attempt to explain it to me. In the end, I gave up and they got away with extra charges to my account. Overall it was a very upsetting experience and I’ve never been treated so poorly by staff. The entire cruise felt like a sales pitch. Staff walked around and tried to sell everything from bottled water, to sunglasses, to gold-by-the-inch. It was like a floating flea market. Not to mention the hidden fees like $12.00 per day, per person for housekeeping and additional port fees after I prepaid all the port fees. Parts of the ship were blocked off because they were welding and painting while we were on the ship. The smoke from the welding was noxious but I would rather put up with that than the rude staff. I do not recommend this budget cruise to anyone. Read Less

The cruise was not well organized and you had to figure things out on your own. Much confusion with the staff especially when docking in the Bahamas.Sign ups for excursions were not advertised well and not much to do in Bimini. The one thing I always look forward to on a cruise is the food. The food in the main dinning room was horrible, my son got a steak that was raw in the middle, not rare but raw! Is there no quality control? The buffet was okay but not many choices, always seemed to have long lines to eat. I guess you get what you pay for, its cheap for a reason. Received a "free" cruise with option of staying in "local" hotel. Ramada Plaza Resort is about twenty minute drive from required time share tour. The two hour tour sales pitch didn't start until we had been there almost an hour. The breakfast consisted of pastries and drinks - not enough to hold a diabetic for the 51/2 hours we were there! The representative was new, but knowledgeable, but the RCI folks did not pick up on the fact that we already owners. The closer seemed to have a problem understanding we were not interested in adding their resort to our existing accounts, and we were suppose to board the cruise ship by 3:00. GPS showed a 1hour 11 minute drive to the port. First time cruisers were impressed by the boat, but we found the buffet did not have enough room to keep it stocked. The food was good and had a good variety, and the workers were very friendly and tried to keep everyone happy. Ice machines often were empty. Cruise was not comfortable. Chairs and pool area is difficult for arthritis sufferers. Cabin had noise from clubs and surrounding areas coming through all night, and beds were like camp cots. It was very clean and cabin attendant was most attentive. Read Less

My husband went into this THINKING it was a great deal for our familly! WRONG! As I looked into it, it was linked to a time share presentation! We had 7 people in our party (2 adults 4 kids). EVERYTHING costed extra! The game room isn't included, comedy shows, etc. Ive seen better pool areas at an apartment complex! Our kids (17,17,16,15,10) were bored to death! And honestly, my husband and i were too! Not alot for kids to do! Play video game (that cost extra) all day! All we could enjoy was the food! Its a repetative menu! We paid $1400 for the cruise + $600 extra in Port fees for 3 of our guests. We had to stay on land (Ft Lauderdale) for 2 nights so we could do the timeshare presentation. The sales people won't take no for an answer! The hotel (Sawgrass Grand) was nice. Extra expenses, $30 a day per room resort fee, and $50 per room deposit! I was told we would be given meal vouchers (breakfast, lunch, dinner)! More like meal coupons! $7 breakfast for 4 people, when the hotel breakfast was $12.95! Consisted of oatmeal, french toast (aunt Jemima), sausage, hash browns, eggs, oranges, bananas, and apples! Definitely not worth $12.95! Not even worth the $5.95 + the $3.95 gratuity they charge per ticket! Same with lunch (hotel didnt even serve lunch) and dinner (bar food menu)! I was also told we would recieve a gas card, i would have to send them reciepts and they would reimbursement me UP TO $100! We live in Ga! Up to $100, i guess if they sent us $5, i couldnt complain because they said up to $100! After my credit card charges on boat ($12 a day pp for tips, $18 pp for oil, drinks, game room) an extra $45 was charged after we departed off ship for god knows what and paying off the package, excursions on island for family, we spent about $4500! Please don't waste your money! While we were porting in Bahamas, our kids saw Carnival Ectasy and said, why can't we get on that ship! For what we spent, we should have! Read Less

I read the reviews, so I took a chance. Called the company and the best rate was a little over 600 for our sailing, so I took it. It seemed a little high for a 2 day ocean view, but the reviews were pretty solid. We have sailed on several different lines. This is an old ship by the way. I was told by the guy in sales that you can't hear the theater through the ceiling on deck 6 forward. It's like an echo dome. The doors and ceiling are paper thin. You can hear every conversation in the other rooms. Then I get the people who want to play the tv full blast and yell over it until 2 something. As far as things to do on the ship, drinking would be the only thing going. Their deal for 65 (74.50) after mandatory 15 percent tip, is a total rip off unless your drinking martinis (which are 10 bucks). Just order drink specials, bigger glasses and they are like a buck more. The best special is the large "margarita" glass for 22.95. Its huge and comes with a lid. Plus you get to take it home. 2 people could split it. The base free upper dinning room (dress code) it's not enforced by the way, food was fair at best. They served me a sirloin that you couldn't even cut through. I reordered the beef wellington mr, and it came out well done. I just left, and of course the buffet was closed by then. Most of the crew speak little to no English. So be aware when ordering or speaking. You have to repeat your self and say things several times. I actually just gave up sometimes. I ordered drinks twice and got pina coladas. Not what i ordered. They have the worlds smallest elevator. Best to take the stairs. The casino was so old and out dated, It was insane, they had machines that I havent seen in 10 years. Only a couple of tables, which were over flowing with people. I wrote that I wanted someone to call e on the review, but of course they didn't. The port of freeport, is no where near as nice as nassau, I would go NCL if your looking for a 2 day bahamas. When we purchased the package it was thru the Bahamas Celebration Cruise line. Evididently it had run aground in 2014 and launched in 2015 as Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and operates the ship Grand Celebration. Of course no one told of us any of this so when we scheduled it we ran into all sorts of "time sharing" requirements that were not part of the original package. After numerous calls and discussions we were able to get back to the original agreement and checked in with the Ft. Lauderdale Ramada Inn to pick up the boarding passes. Upon arrival we were ushered into a room for a sales pitch but after checking the computer we were ushered out just as quickly. The information that was provided differed with what was online and many of the rules & regulations apparently changed. There was an 8 page set of them once you did your online checkin. One of them was no longer to they take your passport and issue you a reciept is but one. THe customer center although friendly was very tiresome but persevered. We caught a $20.00 pp shuttle over to the port of palms When we registered online, one of our guests going with us, had a problem with the birthdate. Although, service was able to fix it so we could board they were confused as to why we hadn't been notified beforehand especially since we were within 48 hours. Another line and wait. During the drizzle weary morning we were offered a deck upgrade from deck 5 to deck 8 & a $50 cash certificate if we sat thru (yet again) another vacation time share pitch. We decided, ah what the heck, why not. While interesting we opted against putting out $2k without doing thorough research. We were upgraded to Deck 8 but they reneged on the $50.00. Everything pointed to an ealry afternoon departure but what we learned once onboard it wouldn't sail till 6pm and the rooms would not be ready till 3. Wandering around with luggage is not a lot of fun. They automatically add $12 per person, per day, onto each passenger's bill for waitstaff and room stewards. Putting a privacy sign up to prevent the staff from cleaning cabins does not prevent this charge from appearing. In addition, a 15 percent charge is added to bar bills, and $9 per person, per day, is levied for fuel surcharges so there are lots of small add ons. We upgraded to the admiralty club for $20.00. It was okay but the breakfast buffet that came with the package was a better choice but it is also limited selections. For just one biil, not including our guest who had her own; Plunge Bar $16 Wait Staff and Housekeeping $24 Fuel Surcharge $9 Oceanbreeze $101 Shore Excursions $18 Shore Excursions $18 Shore Excursions $93 Admiralty I Wine $75 Admiralty I Wine $46 stellar Bar Stellar Bar $5 plus a room service of $18 for a total of $411 on the first leg. What we also learned is that booking an excursion from the ship doesn't mean it will happen on the island as some of the excursions are not running nor does the brochure say which ones are and which ones aren't. The outside cabin was ok but since we have been on the RCL & NCL we were thinking same but it's fine for a ferry and an overnight cruise. When we disembarked at Freeport, more confusion and delay but the worse was yet to come. When we arrived at the Grand Lucayan there were no directions on where to go and if it weren't for the Hotel Staff (not the Paradise staff) we might still be wandering around. Off to the 2nd floor, and more lines. It was hot and the lines were moving as slow as molasses going uphill backwards on a cold day. The hotel finally brought in some refreshments and the Paradise people added another checker Inner! Assigned to the room, the porter was great. It was fine until we arrived at our room on the 2nd floor. We had paid for an upgrade to the 5th or above on the ocean side. Calls to the Paradise people went unanswered. Now we were annoyed & angry and made worse when another family with kids arrived at our room so we all sat there for awhile and exchanged stories. If not for the hotel staff we might have all become room mates. The hotel staff stepped in and relocated us to the upper floor with a beautiful view of the pool & ocean. Rather than pay a fortune on the ship for drinks we bought a bottle (keep your receipt) as you can take off the ship and bring it back on if you have the ship receipt. As we prepared to board for our return cruise it went smoothly but our dissatisfaction was yet to come as we were assigned a cabin on deck two. We understand those to be the cheap seats! The rooms A/C was not working and after numerous complaints we were given a choice of two other rooms on the same deck. One with bunk beds. I'm surprised we didn't have to room with the cruise staff. Took in some entertainment that was at best average. At least the return bill was only $132 with most of that at the splurge and plunge bar as who wants to sit in a "cabin" on deck 2. Once we arrived at Port of Palms we couldn't wait to get off that ship and kiss one of the worst experiences adios as we headed for the West Palm Marriott for the next few days! We won't be taking this cruise line again or package which is nothing more than trying to sell time sharing. If not for some added food venues and "entertainment" it is nothing more than a ferry to Freeport. Read Less

That was what i paid 400.00 to upgrade for. Also my room was supposed to be huge. This boat has no balconies. Also i added a room for my daughter and nephew later for 400 more. Found out exact same thing except a big square u can barely see out of. Room was hot asked for a fan. Hour later nothing. Went to top deck to get air. Started feeling better. Later that night go back still no fan call and ask none left. Next night found out kids had one they called and got one immeadiately. After i was told they where out. I also had free entertainment food and drink. And all 3 locations. Ft lauderdale and oralnado. Also not true... Paid average of 14 _19 dollars for my family to eat each meal. No entertainment anywhere. A glow party on boat was great. But we never found out anything. My kids new before i did. But we weren't together. They ran off and did their thing. the paper we are supposed to get giving us descriptions. Came at the end of the last night. While me and my partner sat on the deck with 3 other couples getting drunk talking about how we will never take this cruise line again. The staff was amazing. Nice and deserve to work on a better ship that offers more. I think they are trying to flip it to fast leaving the customer service out the window. Inform your passengers. We where clueless to everything. And no one to help. Went to a spanish emergency procedure. What would that do we didn't understand nothing. We had a couple good moments made some great friends. But not knowing where to go what to roaming around trying to find things to do. Then by that time it's over. I pray that the next ship will have what i always dreamed of my cruise being like cause this was totally not it! I bought timeshare. By the way totally happy with my purchase. But i would never send no one or suggest them to come this cruise ships way. I didn't take a vacation to waste time. Whole family was discouraged and down nit picking with each other cause we couldn't figure it out. Ask someone and communication is hard also. Sorry grand celebration but you lost 3 families... We all became friends got each other numbers and added each other on facebook. We even couldnt wait to get of boat we went to the island i bought at and swam there for the day. Best part of vacation. We all planned a reunion vacation the right way in palm beach! The only thing i have to say thank you for is returning my family safe, the view from top deck, and meeting the people i met that over heard me say never again on this cruise line and struck up conversation between all 3 couples. The fact too you didn't have nothing to do and we all happen to be sitting there watching the sunset bored as heck right next to each other. Read Less

We had family coming in from out of town, England and Canada to be exact. They have never been on a cruise before and I thought this would be a great experience for them to be on a mini cruise. After reading the reviews on this cruise line they were pretty terrible , but since there were only open back in February of this year I thought maybe they would have had their act together by now that was clearly not the case . When we first got to West Palm Beach to get onto this ship the staff was quite rude and abrupt. Once we got on the ship, our room had bunk beds this was a total mistake on their part . when we went to guest services for assistance in fixing this matter the young lady was very rude and told us that we booked this through a travel agency. This was a complete lie because we booked this through grand celebration cruise line itself she was trying to say that because it was her headquarters that made the reservations and their agents that they were not responsible on the ship. she was on willing to help us and told us that we needed to get off of this ship go back into the terminal and wait in line to speak to someone to see if we can get another cabin with a full size bed. Of course when we got in that line there were other people in the line with different complaints and very upset. Basically they told us at the terminal that we needed to pay more money to get a room that had a full size bed that they would charge us more money when clearly this was an error on their part by putting us in a room with bunk beds which we did not request. The horror stories on this shift was just incredible from other passengers who were just very upset with the cruise line and sharing their stories with us. They will booking rooms For parents and then putting the kids instead of across the hall at the other end of the ship. The staff looks overworked and unhappy. I was trying to get some towels some beach towels so when we get to the Bahamas we would have reached owls so when we get to the bahamas would have style in 24 hours I got five different answers incorrect, which were all incorrect information. This makes me think that God for bed there was an actual emergency on the ship with this crew have it together to save anyone on that ship, since no one seems to know what the other one is doing. When it came to the demarcation process when we got back to West Palm Beach it took us 3 hours to get off the ship they kept blaming it on each other and the deportation process was a nightmare people were very very angry. If you have a flight that you have to catch the same day as this ship comes back I can almost guarantee you you're going to miss the flight because many people that were cruising with me that day lost their flight. If you're a first-time cruiser do not take this cruise it is not worth the money the food is crappy. Go on a real cruise this is a little cruise ship that's trying to be like the big dogs and it obviously is way out of its league. I'm a big cruiser, love cruises, I've been on Carnival and many cruise lines and I've never had this experience. This was a cruise that consisted of 16 of my family members, we had 5 cabins. The majority of them has never cruised before and this was a terrible experience and I hope that they would rethink cruising as a good thing. Well lets start with this. The best food we had on the ship was at the late buffett. Decent chicken wings and onion rings. The first meal I ordered was only made edible with the bacon and the sauce. Over cooked and extremely small portions. Yes I know cruise ship small portions I understand and wouldnt really think anything of it if it was cooked correctly. So I ordered a steak Medium rare. That too came well done. The second dinner I had was seared tuna salad. Lots of filler maybe a spoon full of seaweed and 4 of the smallest slices of seared tuna I have ever seen. More appropriate as an appitizer. So I tried a steak again. This time opting for Rare. I will give them that there was a sliver of pink but for a rare steak that was a dissapointment. Breakfast was disapointing no matter where you went on the ship. I tried to eat the buffet breakfast and it was ...well buffet breakfast so I got what I asked for there. Then tried the dining room with another buffet but you can order eggs. Ordered eggs benedict. It was sour. Orange juice was very watered down. For lunch I tried the burger and hot dogs on deck and got a well done burger and some cold fries. The hot dog was actually a good size but I have tasted better gas station hot dogs. "Entertainment" I really wont even get started with that. The only entertainment we enjoyed was in the piano bar. I think her name was Tonya she was short and Very funny and unfortunately wasnt on our return voyage. Now My biggest issue on the ship was an A/c issue on the first night. All the rooms were hot and heard many guests complaining after I had to go to customer service because a server in the casino gave me someone elses ship card after I ordered a drink. So I know I wasnt alone on this. Embarkation in Palm beach. Security is tight and no real line just right when you come in the door is the metal detectors. so we checked bags and got onboard easy enough. But we arrived early. Disembarkation in the bahamas. Another big issue We got off at 10 to go to the resort. Rooms wont be ready till 3.... ok so we assume a late checkout no big deal. they send you to a room to leave your luggage on racks with attendants. I didnt experience any issues here but I could see issues not being a big surprise. Luckily our room was ready before 3 our friends wernt so lucky and had a nice little wait as all the other guests checked in at 3... So we are awakened on our last morning at the resort by housekeeping. Checkout is at 10am........ 10am-3pm to clean rooms. I will simply leave the comment of LOL. We scheduled our transportation via direct bus transport on the ship from the resort at 12:30... so another 2 and a half hour wait to go nowhere. so we wander the market and get breakfast at a little restaurant. We go back at 12:15... there is still a line for 12:30 passengers Behind the line for 12:00 passengers that were not picked up... so we grabbed our baggage and jumped in line.... FInally at 1:30 we get on a bus. We arrive at port and manage to make it through scurity and customs with ease. Disembarkation back in Palm beach. The line off the ship was backed up from Customs all the way inside the ship. It took 3 hours to get off the ship. Once we got 1/2 way through the line we find out there is another line for passengers with passports and passport IDs. not only that but Ship officers and crew would pass by everyone in line transporting crew getting off and even refreshments for the new guests about to come aboard. Customs handled us very quickly so I dont think that was the issue. In Summary I met a lot of folks who took this voyage as their first cruise. I would not recomend it as it might turn you off to cruising all together. If you dont mind dealing with sub par cruising as a quick vacation then by all means go ahead but I wont be doing it again.
