My 4 sisters, 2 nieces, 2 cousins and I took a 2night cruise to Nassau, Blue Lagoon Island, on Oct 22-24,2019 as an all girl getaway. We had the most fun! We learned as a mid week cruise the ship had only less than 150 passengers. We had the ship and crew almost all to ourselves. We had Sasih, our room attendant, making us the most fabulous towel animals. Loved them! FloriAnne in photography was so sweet and helpful when we were ordering photos. Raul (Wait staff) and Edwin in the Casino kept us served and amused. And a special mention of Ruel, in the Yellow Elder Restaurant, and his team for the most amusing, fun and totally enjoyable dinners both nights. Check in was a breeze, we went for lunch where we met Davor, and ardent waiter. Our staterooms were as expected, very clean and roomy enough. Sasih met us at the door and knew our names. We had our meals at the Yellow Elder, took in stage shows we enjoyed. Everything was perfect. The shore excursion to Blue Lagoon Island was so relaxing, until 2 of our ladies lost the battle of the lounge chairs on the beach and injured their foot. The First Aid technician was professional and knowledgable and treated both with care. One of my nieces really enjoyed her time at the Dolphin Encounter. We cannot wait to do this again! Thank you for a memorable family cruise!!! Read Less

I went on this cruise expecting a bad experience due to the reviews here but it was beautiful! The food was very delicious in the buffet and the restaurant that was included in our ticket had delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts to choose from. The room was very clean and everything worked fine. There are only two outlets, one in the room and one in the bathroom. If you need more, I suggest bringing an extension cord. The tv in the room had good channels and good reception so that was a plus. The live show featuring the dancers was admittedly cringy at times but there were good parts for it being free. There was a very funny comedian on board and the tickets were $9 per person. The staff was extremely kind and were eager to pull strings to help in any way. We only drank beer buckets so we did not get the drink coupons. We chose the excursion that took us to Vivas resort in the Bahamas and it was beautiful. Very clean beach, beautiful decor, great food and helpful locals. Overall, a great experience and worth the money. Very clean, comfortable, great food and tons of helpful people to answer any questions. I 100% recommend! Read Less

We just came back from a four day cruise to the Grand Bahamas. It was our first cruise and we could not have asked for more. The food was excellent. The service was impeccable. The ship itself was a fun experience with adventures on each deck. It was a truly eclectic crowd and very friendly. Everyone will fit in here. What was unexpected was the high quality of the entertainment. We stayed on the island and were pleasantly surprised by its cleanliness and clean beaches. Totally safe and uncrowded. The camera does not lie and we have many photos of the wonderful experiences. To see the sunrise at 6 am from the cruise ship over the calm blue and turquoise waters was unforgettable. After all it is ultimately about the experience of getting close to Nature. The price is so low that I know we will be back whenever we want a quick escape. After all the Bahama Mama is calling. We took this cruise because of the special two-night deal. Outstanding experience. The musical shows were dynamite. The beds very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Well-organized, well run. Ship and all amenities very clean and maintained well throughout the cruise. Lots of activities to pursue aboard ship. All events were held on time and stuck strictly to the time allotted. Ate at Yellow Elder. Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. The only fly in the ointment was when we returned and were disembarking. We filled out the online passport papers, which gave us an edge on early debarking; however, as I was leaving, I was told to speak to the information desk. Long lines to wait for my turn, while my companions were ashore waiting for me. Finally, got to the counter only to be told that everything on my account was okay and I was free to leave. That was totally unnecessary. Other than that, thoroughly wonderful experience that we will do again in the future. Couldn't find any comment cards to fill out before we disembarked. Read Less

I really want to go back next year. I took the excursion to Grand Lucaya. its a Beautiful place. Exceptional The saxophone show in the encore salon. the Game for couples stole laughter from everyone present. If you love to play, the casino is very well suited. Yellow Elder restaurant has excellent entrees included in the price and likewise additional dishes at a moderate price. the cleanliness is spectacular. the staff is concerned about constantly keeping everything clean and very organized. The area for jogging is excellent. I recommend this cruise 100%! ! ! Read Less

Took this cruise as a quick family getaway. We live locally yet we have never tried this ship. We are experienced cruisers having taken all the major cruise lines at some point. Check in (shoreside) was a little bit on the slow side (they were having issues using their tablets to take pics of our passports) but once that was done we grabbed a boarding picture, confirmed our dining table and we were onboard! I recommend getting your drink package online when you book. This will save you time. Staff will try to hound you about buying a drink package once onboard but all I had to say was I already purchased one. Booked a Suite which was worth the extra money. The room was large, clean & cold a/c. The ship herself is old school and in a good way. Beautifully appointed, attentive staff, nothing looked worn or beat up. She felt like a mega private yacht than a budget cruise ship....my feelings anyway. Meals were excellent. Good variety in the Buffett. Food was flavorful & hot. Main dining room & staff took pride in their service. Dinners were excellent. For an extra charge I ordered a small Filet (steak) which as good as any major steakhouse (Capitol Grille, Mortons, etc). The pizza is really good even though charges apply. Our family likes to game and we found the Casino to be clean and staff pleasant. Both nights we would take over a Blackjack table prior to the show and then afterwards. And reasonable prices. They offer $5.00 & $10.00 minimum tables. Try finding that at Hard Rock.....yeah, good luck! The onboard entertainment was suprisingly very good. Both nights we enjoyed an excellent show. I think the only way that could have topped their performance is if they had a live orchestra but you'll be hard pressed to find one even on the major lines nowadays. I won't really comment on Freeport since my focus is the ship experience. The area is still pretty beat up from Hurricane Matthew back in 2016. Since we (wife & I) booked a Suite we were invited (they later allowed my entire family...13 persons total) to visit the Bridge while we were docked at Freeport. Then to top it off they allowed us to remain on the Bridge while we maneuvered out of our slip and proceed out the main channel. Captain Hansen was a riot doing pull ups on his chin up bar that is welded to the ceiling of the Starboard bridge wing!.....no joke! He was completely professional but also didn't take himself too seriously. He loves to entertain. He made sure we were involved and had a great experience. He even made my Aunt press the ship's horn ( 3 times for astern) when we backed out from the dock. It was an incredible. We all left the Bridge feeling like celebrities. If nothing more book a Suite for this experience alone! Especially if you're a ship buff like myself. Overall our experience was an excellent one! Our expectations were more than met. As a result we are looking forward to a return trip in January 2019. Kudos & accolades to the ship, her officers & crew for providing outstanding service. So, if you're even slightly interested in going then go! Read Less

First off let me say I was set on not liking the ship because I love her sister ship the Celebration. However with that said she sure did change my mind. I brought 3 of my granddaughters along with their boyfriends and we were originally going to sail on the Celebration. So this was not my first choice and I didn't think my girls would like it. But I was wrong. I purchased the Concierge package for everyone and it worked well as it always does on the Celebration. Ok back to the Classica, the food, we tried all the upcharge restaurants. We went to the wine tasting which was part of the package so they had samples of the pizza and it was to die for. So we did the pizza in the afternoon. The best pizza and I am of Italian heritage and I can't say enough good things about it. We tried the Rock Grill and that was a dining experience into itself. Great tender steaks and seafood. They do a presentation and the kids loved it. So now I have to critique the Admirals Club that was somewhat of a disappointment and here is why. On the Celebration the main dining rooms Stellar Prime and the Admiralty Club are very nice. Dark wood paneling, frosted glass dividers and big picture windows. First off the Admirals on the Classica is way too small to accomodate the concierge people and the overflow went to the Yellow Elder. Neither one of the dining rooms were nice looking. I am shocked because the rest of the ship is so elegant. They need to move the Admirals Dining Room to another part of the ship and make it as special as the Celebration dining rooms. Another criticism is the suites. The marble bathroom is beautiful and so it the balcony but the suites themselves are shabby looking at best. Unless they redecorate the suites, the next time I sail on the Classica I'll just take a regular cabin. I highly recommend this ship. I will sail on her again. I know this cruise line listens to their passengers and I know they will make the improvements I just mentioned because they probably have heard them before. One last thing, when they owned the little ferry ship the Bahamas Celebration, there was a cruise direction name Steve Zimmerman. Well, he was the greatest and they in their infinite wisdom brought him back as their comedian. They need to make him the cruise director again because I don't know who their cruise director is but I sure know Steve Zimmerman. Great time and can't wait to do it again. Read Less

It's a great short getaway. The crew are fun and friendly, the food is great, the entertainment is good. No need for a balcony as the only time you are at sea is at night. They have great deals which is less than if you were to book a hotel, restaurants and entertainment for a quick getaway. People are always in a fun and festive mood. It seems like the crew is encouraged to make sure everyone has a good time. The bed was very comfortable. The ship is older without the bells and whistles of the newer ships, but the cabin with ocean view is very comfortable. Dining can be freestyle if you wish. We like the buffet which has good variety and an outdoor grill. Parking is only available at the port as there are no other parking areas around. The valet parking is very convenient and $17 per day ($34 total). Read Less

We were expecting this short cruise to be fun. It was much more than that. This small ship has everything you need and the service is excellent. We felt very welcome on board. We went from Freeport to West Palm Beach and back. I have some food allergies and they took great care of me. They made a fresh meal for me at the lunch buffet on embarkation, which was excellent. We paid a little extra to dine in the special part of the Admiralty Lounge and we had the best ribeye we have ever had. Wow! They also gave me things that were not on the menu. The cabin was large and very clean. The bathroom and shower were bigger than on most Royal Caribbean ships. Entertainment was really good. There were different types of live music everywhere. The production show was good. Magic, comedy etc. The singers and dancers were a little hokey but still very entertaining. We had a 12 year old with us and he enjoyed himself very much. There was plenty for him to do. The pools and hot tubs were nice and clean. You can't beat the price, either! We will definitely be taking this cruise again. Read Less

Don't believe the bad reviews it never ceases to amaze me how people write such bad reviews and then after I been on a Cruise, a Hotel, or a Destination I think what were they talking about? This boat is very nicely built in Italy and it shows. It is just a little more elegant. The Food was fantastic in the main dining room as was the service. Our waiter Jaquim I believe his name was was at our beck and call we wanted for nothing. The cabin (We had a Port Hole view) was good sized as was the bathroom and the port hole was large. The entertainment was very Good we especially liked the Diana Ross/ Tina Turner singer she was great as was the show in the Main Theater. The show changed and we went both nights and both of the shows were great and very different. We even opted for the Adult Comedy show the second night and Laughed so much I almost hurt myself. I strongly recommend an excursion if your are on this boat or any boat for that matter that stops at Freeport. Unlike most of the Bahamas Freeport/Grand Bahama Island is not just for Tourists but is Half Tourist and Half industrial. Unfortunately the Port is in the Industrial section a good half hours drive from the Lucaya Tourist Area. So if you want to get off ship it pays to do an excursion and enjoy the free bus ride. The excursions were plentiful and reasonably priced with choices ranging from a Day at a Resort to Para sailing, snorkeling, Feeding Sharks, etc. etc. Lots to chose from. For the money you cant beat this cruise we had 6 in our Party and rented 3 staterooms every one had a Great Time! Read Less

My husband 2 kids and myself literally just left this boat! We had a great experience, lots of fun, laughs and family memories. We have already talked about booking our next cruise. The staff was not extremely friendly, but not rude either. The food was ok... not bad.. many food choices. We checked in our bags, they were all delivered to our room within 1.5 hours from boarding, which we thought that was really good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Room service was amazing. They offered drink packages for alcoholic and non drinks, this is a great way to save money. The kids club was also great. Our kids were excited to attend and didn’t wanna leave. The only thing I wish they had more of was scheduled activities. They had a few.. not many. We have cruises on other cruise lines and it seemed to be a party going on somewhere at all times. Overall, we are extremely satisfied. Thank you all for a great family vacation. Read Less

I read through a lot of reviews before deciding to go on this cruise with my 2 kids (ages 10 & 15). I tried to prepare for any potential issues brought up by other reviewers. It turns out I didn’t need to! This cruise was great! I will preface my review by saying I have sailed in Carnival 5 times before. I needed something that would fit my budget and time schedule and this 2 night cruise on the Classica was perfect! Embarkation was a breeze. We were greeted warmly and everything went smoothly during the process. A delicious lunch buffet was waiting for us when we got on board. The selections at this and all meals were great. Our room was a spacious inside cabin for three. If I had to say one thing bad it would be the shower size could have been a bit larger. There were plenty of on board activities to occupy our time with. We dined in the Tellow Elder for dinner and breakfast and the food and service was wonderful! We caught both big singing and dancing productions and LOVED them. We also caught some of the other entertainment around the ship and they were all great! I loved this cruise and look forward to doing another one! Read Less

This was my fifth cruise aboard the Grand Celebration. This was a reunion with my cousin whom I havent seen in 14 years and my sister. We booked Concierge Deck level 11. There is nothing bad about this ship. Its been in our port for 3-4 years and has only gotten better over the years. Its the cleanest ship I have ever been on. Aside from the fact that the weather was perfect and its was a family reunion of sorts, here are my highlights. They walk you on to the ship, they ask you about what dinner times you want and they take careof everything. You are given a phone number and if you need something, its taken care of by the concierge. We were given a tour of the bridge and it was informative and fun. They also serve drinks and fancy finger foods on the tour. Because I have been to Freeport a million times I had no desire to get off the ship. The ship was my destination. So we took a leisurely breakfast In the Admiralty Club and then sat by the pool. We then caught a movie waiting for the casino to open at 3:00 and that is when the real fun begins. The casino was amazing. We saw a woman win $4,000 and I won $840. We bought all the pictures they took of us. The photographer was great. Dinner was always good and cooked perfectly. I live in Palm Beach County and I’m so happy this cruiseline is here. I am a caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimers. I love cruising and he cannot come with me. So for me a 2 day cruise is perfect. This ship is my home away from home and it helps me keep my sanity under my circumstances. With all that said there are different levels of this ship and everyone seems happy and enjoying themselves. Great job again Bahamas Paradise. The only criticism I have that the liitle market place where Senor Frogs is should be open all the the time the Bahamas Paradise cruise ships. It doesn’t seem fair that it would be closed because Bahamas Paradise always has a ship in port. My only beef and that should be negotiated with the Freeport Grand Bahama Island government. Read Less

The Ship was great and room with ocean view great as well as our cabin boy that could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable. Loved the large bed and it was comfortable. However, when we went to the formal Dinning Room in the Steller Steak house I was shock that they would allow me to drink only water and not offer un-sweet tea and I was told that I could not have coffee with my meal that I had to have desert to get the coffee... WTH really I do not drink plain water so I was faced with a plate of dry beef that I was trying to eat with nothing to drink and when they finally brought me my desert they forgot the coffee until I had finished my desert and was ready to walk out of the dinning area.....I have trouble swallowing so this was really a challenge for me and I will never set foot back in the formal Dinning Areas of one of these Ships again if I should ever decide to cruise with them again. I did enjoy everything else for the price but just know that I will not leave home with out some crystal light in my purse. Now the upstairs deck food was great and you could at least get tea and lemonade.....Don't call yourself a upscale dinning facility when you do cater to your guest needs or try to please their wants. I only eat veg and seafood and I had lots of selections. Entertainment was for every age group; and the entertainers ensured everyone had a great time. Thanks to everyone involved for the excellent memories and for a relaxing vacations. The tours the next day were also fun and filled with activities of my selections. My only recommendation is that I thought the music was too loud and always blaring from the speakers. It would be nice to have a quite time to listen to the waves and gentle humming of the engines. Freeport was just hit by a hurricane in Oct 2016 so there was plenty of damage around the island. The Port Lucaya Market Place was ok but the pressure sales from the local vendors was a little tough but you really cant blame the locals. They are trying to rebuild their lives after the hurricane. If you want to do an Island excursion sign up as soon as you get on the boat. I seem to think they book up fast and really cant accommodate a high number of sign ups. I mainly picked this cruise because of affordability and the flexible scheduling. My family and I had such a great time. I almost did not book due to all the horrible reviews but I'm so glad I did. My cabin was V-11 and it was a balcony suite and it was very clean and well maintained, I had a time trying to work the jetted tub but it was still great. The food was just like any buffet and it was very acceptable and the omelet station is above par. I had an issue with our return driver, he did not return us to the original port which is on the opposite side and we had to get another cab to get us the the Port for the Grand Celebration (they have a private port). My mother enjoyed the casino and the kids liked the playroom with the gaming systems. The dance contest will get you free drinks and my mother won. Overall it was great and I have no complaints. So this is my 3rd cruise on this ship. I've always been able to book a Veranda suite, this time I was in V5. But now they offer a Concierge Package for an additional $350. A lot of people would think that was excessive but for me and my DH it was wonderful. My DH has the beginning stages of dementia and all that was offered was a God sent for us. When you check in the Concierge comes down and escorts you to your suite which was already ready. This is a shout out to Sandra our concierge. From there on she was at our beckon call. Our suite had a bottle of chilled champagne, a bowl of fruit and chocolate covered strawberries. We were given free passes to the wine tasting, a free cocktail hour in Commodore Lounge and free dinner in the beautiful Admiralty Club and a free couples massage. My husband and I passed on the massage. So Sandra came up with something even better, a tour of the Bridge. We got to meet the Captain, his officers and were given cocktails and canapés. The next morning we get a champagne breakfast in the Admiralty Club. On the second day we decided to stay on the ship. The weather was cool for us Floridians so we passed on the pool and went straight to the hot tub which was clean big and hot. We ate their hot dogs and hamburgers by the pool and it nice and quiet cause everyone was on the island. We got to see the Family Feud which was fun and my husbands favorite show. Then we were off to the Admiralty Club for a fast lobster and filet mignon. It was our anniversary so they brought out a small cake with a candle and Happy Anniversary on it. We were then off to the show in the main theater. Now my review on that is that the dancers were great, the aerialist was great, the magician was funny and the comedian was not. The old cruise line had a cruise director/comedian call Steve Zimmerman and they should bring him back. When we got back to our room there were homemade chocolates. So the trip was wonderful but now we have to get back to West Palm that is 50 nautical miles west. The problem was the seas in Gulf Stream are 10 feet going to 12. Our Captain knew what to do. He parked our ship in the calm waters of the Bahamas and wait until 4 am when everyone was asleep and made a run for it. It was great we got in at exactly 6:30 am. I loved every minute of this cruise even the rough seas. If you go in June you won't have any rough seas and I highly recommend this ship again but especially the Concierge Service. Read Less

Nothing could have been better, down to the amazing meals in the Admiral dining room with excellent personal and very warm service included in the cruise. The menus were absolutely filled with finely prepared food worthy of a top new york restaurant. This was a sweet, lasting memorable experience for each one of us. We would do it again at any time. in addition, the time in the sundeck was superb, which my daughter greatly appreciated. The time at the bar was also enjoyable as we enjoyed a very inexpensive flight of martinis for us to enjoy different types of mixes. The activities on the cruise, food and in general all the services offered were of high quality. The Latin rumba was very nice, a bit short the live presentation schedule. The performances in the theater were very varied and high level, I really enjoyed the dances and the magic show I would have liked to find more variety in the shops and even better prices, although the people that cater are very friendly. The pictures were very good and the people who offered the service were also very willing. An opportunity for improvement is the guide on the island visit in Bahamas where one could really feel alone. The pool is a bit small for the amount of people they board. It could be improved on board game options for travelers, to offer alternatives to people who do not like the options offered by the cruise. Well overall my opinion is positive. Read Less

We were a group of six and three of us were celebrating turning 50, we had th best time.. Thanks from the beginning with the help with the cruise agent Kisesma she was very helpful and answered all my questions that a lot of reviews complained about...Getting on the cruise was very organized and ran really smooth same as coming back.... They offer drink packages but we felt it was cheaper for us to buy at bar... Food was really good always buffets going on food was gluten free which I thought was great that they accommodate. We were really surprised the cabins were bigger then we thought which was great... The only complaint that I would have is the is waiters constantly asking is you want to by drinks, it wasn't nesessary if you want a drink you can call them over. I did notice almost everyone felt exactly the same way... Onboard activities could have been better priced as far as playing Bingo etc. Other than that I would definitely do it again. Read Less

There's no comparison with other cruises, as this is another choice to bring passengers the opportunity to have a wonderful weekend with excellent service on board, I would like to highlight the quality of food, a delicious Caribbean taste, very good quality the entire day, kindly personnel dedicated to serve, especially servers at the restaurant. Well decorated, Extremely clean. They handle very well the timing for two nights cruise. Cabin, comfortable and very complete. Variety of excursion where we can choose good options. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. In regards to ship, even if it's an old vessel, is in a very well conditions, there's no place without maintenance, very well decorated. I would go again for a wonderful weekend experience in all aspects. I explored on the internet experiences of other people and based on my experience they went short of good references about the cruise. They really take care about Customer Service. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was a short cruise and I wasn't sure if I would get sea sick or if my son and daughter would either get sea sick or not enjoy it. None of us got sick and we all enjoyed it very much. The ship was bigger than we expected, it was clean, there were plenty of activities, the food was great and the nightlife was plentiful and varied. The gift shops were reasonably priced. The employees were friendly, visible and helpful. There was always someone available if you had a question. Boarding and departing were efficient. The only inefficient process was signing up for the all inclusive resort while on board. It was supposed to be a time saver but it turned out to be a big time waster when we could have been enjoying ourselves on the ship. I would think that the resort was responsible rather than the ship but the ship should look into it since it does reflect on them. Overall, it was a great experience! Read Less

What a fun little trip! When you need a little bit away but not too much. The people who work on the boat couldn't do enough for you. The food is fabulous, the ship is nice and definitely get the concierge package. Soooo worth it! You are treated like royalty! You get escorted off the ship past the multitudes of people. This alone is worth it. Includes champagne breakfast both days....upgrades for meals...bridge tour....champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, cheese plate and fruit plate in room. i had lobster eggs benedict....wonderful! It is a foodie trip! The wine sommelier and wine tastings are a treat. The cruise is reasonable. Bravo! This was our second trip and we will be back! You can't ask for more. Do yourself a favor and schedule a little break. Overnight to Freeport and back and a world away from work. Enjoy! You deserve it. I know we did. Read Less
