It was supposed to be a free cruise advertised on the radio which was a scam. We ended up paying over $700 in total for a 2 day cruise in which we stayed in a tiiny cabin on the lowest level of the ship with a broken air conditioner the ENTIRE time- We were so hot and miserable we contacted the staff and every time they said they would send someone right away-no one came. They never offered a fan so when we realized it was never getting fixed we ask for a fan- they brought us one- it didn't work - 2 hours later they brought us another after 2 more phone calls. Also We were charge $24 in maid fees -our room was never cleaned nor did we ever see a maid. I will forever tell people do not use grand celebration-ever. I do have one good thing to say- the young cruise directors were excellent in entertainment and very friendly. Read Less

I went on this trip with a group of 14 friends. I enjoyed a lot the ship that to offer and for a first time cruise. I was able to enjoy things on my own time such as the spa which the Sana was wonderful and great for the price! I was a little shaky about the boat taking off so right about 6 p.m. when the ship left Palm Beach i went to the Spa to unwind a little. The drinks were great! All the bars were very knowledgeable of what they are doing. The shows, games and events that went on all through out the night kept a lot of us up and having fun till the early hours of the morning. The shore excursion was fun however I wish I had brought my own shopping bag with me to help carry my stuff that I bought. The straw market is great but if you are uncomfortable with being "Cat Called" of a sort don't go. They will do anything to get you to come into their shops to buy something. Also go a head an pick the option "WITH LUNCH" that's like $10 or so more because its worth it. Restaurants charge an arm and a leg for lunch around the shopping area. However if you didn't go out of the boat they played games all day and watched movies in the big lounge area. The food is so good, just go a head and have 2 breakfasts and dinners because you will want too! The gift shop has giveaways and I personally found a better deal on t-shirts on the boat than off. Advice: When you board from Palm Beach and you drink a lot of soda buy the cup that is $21 something before you get on the ship which is for unlimited soda the whole trip. Those things run you about $3 a can. Don't do that to yourself. Also grab as many cookies as you can because you will never see them again and they are so good! On the return they make you place your bags out the door at 2 a.m. or you have to carry them off the ship. A lot of people were in PJs getting off the ship. I have a large purse so I put mine in there. Also if you have a birth certificate and not a passport get ready to wait 3 hours to get out of customs and off the ship. It's an hour to get off the ship and 2 hours through customs. If you have your passport you go right to the front. There is no self parking just vallet which is $18 per day. All in all I really enjoyed the trip I would do it again! Read Less

My wife and I sailed aboard the grand Bahamas on May 10, 2016. Our experience during this time was both memorable and one that will never happen again. Consequently, My wife and I would like to express the issues that arose with the information that was provided to me by the agency, the service in Ramada Hotel, and the service aboard the grand Bahamas. I was contacted by the booking agency stating, I won a cruise; the agent proceeded to advertise of an upgraded package that was available. I agreed to the package of 2 nights at Ramada hotel in Ft. Lauderdale (all inclusive), 2 nights in Bahamas (all inclusive), and the 2 nights on aboard the Grand Bahamas. Thus, I was promised an ocean view aboard the grand Bahamas. Upon arriving the Ramada Hotel we were instructed to a different check in satiation where we were told “in order to get your booking tickets it is mandatory to attend a timeshare tour at 8:00 am, which is approximately two hours”, also a proof of attendance form that would be given to us after the tour (image my amazement to find out that instead of relaxing with my wife on our vacation we had to attend a presentation that is an hour way from the hotel that we are staying at). However, that was not the only interesting information that was bought to my attention; having to pay 25% gratuity (for him to serve you a drink in plastic cup), and $30.00 of taxes (which was suppose to be $25.00). Thus, in both cases I addressed the staff member of my concern and in both cases the staff member was extremely intimidating, unprofessional, and rude. On the next day, arriving back to Ramada (After a long stressful five hour timeshare) we once again missed the opportunity to use a lunch voucher (since check-in was at 3:00 and lunch ended at the same time we were unable to eat breakfast or lunch the day before) had to wait until dinnertime. Therefore, we returned to a representative with proof of attendance when she replied: “are you guys early birds”;…… if so we have a system that is only offered to 10 parties a day, consisting of first priority in boarding lines and in the immigration lines while entering and exiting the ship”. She went on in saying “do not worry there will be no timeshare tours”. So we agreed to a deceiving system that lured us to a different type of sales pitch (vacation club) and did not get the “VIP” status that was promised. Next was experiencing poor levels of customers service in several different crewmen which expressed hostile remarks and the upmost selfish tendencies that I ever have encountered. For example, I ordered a hamburger (in the hamburger station) when the chef replied “ go inside, they have food inside”. Another example was when we were given a different cabin with two rolled out beds(which I suffer from back conditions) side-by-side and a portwhole window which was suppose to be for the “ocean view”; I immediately went to customer service to express my complaint when the customer service representative stated “do you want to say where you or do you prefer the back of the ship where there is a lot of noise. Knowing this individual is not in my best interest I requested the corporate’s number, which he then proceeded to through the business card on the counter. The intention of this letter is to make aware that not many people are fortunate to travel with their loved ones; thus, it is imperative that if a vacation company advertises fun, exciting, and special memories that they measure up to what the customer is expecting and not scheduled events that are mandatory. Therefore, what we experienced was feelings of being deceived, tricked and forced to situations that were out of our control. If I knew that we were going to experience 75 % of our vacation in misery, then I would have just booked our vacation to the Bahamas only (which was the only highlight of our vacation, and were we felt at ease and where we could be out of our room and have fun!!) if your think about taking this trip think about it "TWICE" Izzy Read Less

This cruise deal started with the groupon promotion. I was immediately suspect, but my wife had already made the purchase, so we decided to go for it. As avid cruisers, we have been on many cruises, this one being the shortest. We arrived at the port early, so that we might attend a sales seminar and get some free onboard credits. Valet parking is $18 a day, and we dropped off our bags, and checked in very quickly. After listening to the seminar which offers a travel deal website after a buy in costing thousands of dollars, we graciously said no , and then boarded the ship. The ship being a vintage 1990s vessel, was clean, updated, and easy to navigate. We had lunch at the buffet on the top deck, which was very good.. The inside cabin was clean, and what we would expect on a ship of this vintage . We were travelling with three so our cabin had a drop down bed . Sit down dinners at stellar prime were excellent , as were the sit down breakfasts . For snacking , pizza and ice cream were available , plus a bbq at the pool . Evening entertainment included magicians, comedians , dancers and cirque style entertainers . Good shows both nights including a late night adult comedy show $12 pp . Fun entertainment around the ship on both days too ! Our day in Freeport was great , as we arranged our own day at Paradise Cove for snorkelling . This is a good cruise for first timers , or those looking for a quick getaway . Don't expect all the extras of a big ship . Good Memories of our early cruising days on smaller ships .Would go again and maybe stay over for a couple of nights . Read Less

We saw the commercials on TV that totally mis-portrayed the amenities and facilities and overall condition of this boat. It is the Cape May-St Lewis ferry with a pool and cabins. The ship is old, the rooms are old and amenities outdated (CRT TV-s), "dining hall" is like a cafeteria with a few salad bars and self-serve stations; must go to the bar and pay extra for everything you drink. And when you are boarding, you have to run the gauntlet of tables for each dinner reservation, excursion and extra on board where again, you pay for everything. Very outdated and I would not recommend unless you are interested in a very low cost getaway. Then again, the cost per night is more than you'd pay for a land budget motel chain, which is what I would compare this ship to. Beware the "cancellation plan" which is not trip insurance, despite what their sales reps say. Read Less

I took this cruise because it was a package deal, where we would stay in the Bahamas for a few days and they get back on the ship and go back. Well my problems started when I did not received my bag with the rooms around us, I did not receive it until 4:47pm while all other rooms on our floor had received theirs, and when I got mine the handle was broken, it was a High Sierra Adventure 32" wheeled duffel, how they broke the handle I do not know, but the attitude of the people at the customer service desk sucked and thats being nice. They took pictures and gave me a damage report and stated that they would report it and I would hear from the office within a few day of returning home, well I did not and had to call them, the report was never submitted. Lucky for me I took pictures and had them dated myself, I sent them a copy of the report with the pictures and the web site for my item. I got the item on sale over the holidays and told the the replacement cost, they said they could only pay me for what I paid for it "Bull ____!!! It is not my fault that their personnel damaged my bag and they should pay for the cost to replace. Second problem, I requested 2 beds in the room, and it only had one, when I told them of this and showed my request I was told "well its only one night, but I made them change the bed into two, plus the room was not clean it had dried fruit pits on the floor and hair in the bath room, once again they did not believe me and sent a supervisor to see it for himself. I was able to access my cabin about 6:45pm I had been on the ship since 12:30. They say they had shows for our enjoyment, right which you had to pay $25.00 to attend. All I can say is you get what you pay for, I would not recommend the cruise to anyone, I have been on many cruises and this if by far the worst ever, did I mention that they were painting the ship and had one side of the stairs roped off because of it. I am a disabled Vet and thought it would be nice to take my niece on a little get away to say thank you to her for all she has done for me, well now I have to plan and save for another for the two of us because of this bad experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CRUISE LINE TO ANYONE. Read Less

This was my very first cruise and I didn't know what to expect ..boy was I pleasantly surprise..From beginning to end it was an excellent cruise "smooth sailing" I have so many Pics of the ship I will never forget how happy I was.. For all the negative reviews we must not have been on the same ship.. This ship was so clean and every one bent over backwards to accommodate U.. My cabin was very clean and U have Ur own personal attendant that will assist U with your cabin needs.. The entertainment was on point. the dining was exquisite having an array of foods to choose from even those of us that are "Vegan"...Ports an shore excursions, was very organized and safe... I really enjoyed the entertainment we were entertained by Comedians Dancers that were very good and had several different styles of dancing. I really love the the Lady who did the acrobats I was thrilled, I never seen any one with that type of agility... We also was entertained by a magician he was funny and had a great act .I really like the interaction he had with the audience.. From the start to the end and I really didn't want it to end it was truly an amazing trip so once again if U looking for a short or a long cruise the Grand Celebration is the ship you want to take your first, second or third etc on...Can't wait for my next cruise but I'll never forget my first "Grand Celebration"... My husband and I consider ourselves seasoned cruisers and received this cruise as a Christmas gift. We had never heard of this cruise ship and was somewhat uncertain as to what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The larger cruise lines could take a page out of their book when it comes to embarkation and disembarkation - they did a fabulous job. The food could use some improvement was wasn't as bad as I have read in some of the reviews. The waiters in the main dining room were not as accommodating when it came to requesting changes in the menus - so we opted for dinner meals elsewhere on the ship. The entertainment was fun as the cruise director was a hoot! I didn't care for the comedian and I'm about sick of BINGO (that all cruise lines have) but overall I think he did a great job. the weather in the Bahamas was windy, rainy and dreary - so we stayed on the ship. This was fine with me as we have visited Freeport several times in the past. All in all this is a great deal for the price and a even greater adventure for first time cruisers. I would like to see them pay a little more attention to the Encore Lounge area as there was an odor in that area. I am not certain if it was poor air circulation or if the carpeting needed refreshing. To the cruise director - please continue to seek out new entertainment - and let that be that be the main reason people want to cruise with this cruise ship. I think you're doing a great job but folks are tired of BINGO...By the way the band in the Encore lounge was awesome and enjoyable! My family and I are thinking of taking this cruise for New Years Eve. We met the senior couple who are longtime cruisers on this particular cruise and they talked us into joining them and their family for New Years Eve. I can't remember their names but I will not forget their warmth, kindness, and wonderful memories they shared about their cruises with this cruise ship. Where there is definitely room for improvement - overall - GOOD JOB! Read Less

We are a mature couple living in Miami Beach. We booked this two nights cruise on the Gran Celebration to Bahamas in Bayside by South Florida Travel& tours. We paid 700$ while later realizing that booking directly with the cruise company would have costed only 400$! My wife has cruised few times in Europe while for me was the first time. The trip to Palm Beach was about 90 minutes long. When we arrived the valet parking was fast and efficient. On the way to the embarkement we were stopped by cruise staff who offered us a free stay for the next day in The Memories hotel resort. The only condition was to listen to a 90 minute presentation. The embarkement was reasonably quick and the room almost ready. The luggage were delivered in within a couple of hours. We booked a room with ocean view on deck 7. The room was what one would expect in a ship of that age with all the necessary facilities. However there was a rather significant noisy vibration at times and it was rather cold. The food in general was sufficiently good but not impressive. The serving staff were very nice and polite rendering dining a cosy event. Regrettably there are no drinks included a part water and coffee. Drinks are rather expensive with a Cocacola at more than 5$ and a glass of red wine at 9$. Enterteinment was very good. We enjoied the singers and the dancing in the piano bar, the casino area, the theater and the rest. We also enjoyed the wine tasting we had the first evening on board at very reasanable price. The trip to Bahamas was quit and slow. In the morning we were picked up on time for our excursion to the Memories resort. The 90 minute presentation became a three hour discussion with few individuals trying to sell us holidays for the next 30 years for 42000$! Since the weather was rather bad, we did not really minded although we were surprised that the cruise company was somehow part of what I would define as an intent to froud. The disembarkement was also quick and efficient. The car was delivered in few minutes. All in all it was a nice experience mostly because of the enterteinment. Read Less

This being my second cruise and with a short time to to spend on our honeymoon, Bahamas Paradise Cruise was the best option for us. We could cruise the next day and be back for work a few days later. However, I didn't know much about Bahamas Paradise other than it was at Palm Beach. Finding out that this was a fairly new company I quickly realized what great potential they had. Staff were excellent and engaging, from the moment you step aboard the ship you are greeted with a smile and a helping hand. Finding the room was a little complicated but it was a fun adventure, and any time we met a staff member they were eager to help you navigate the ship. Once we got to the cabin it was well kept and comfortable. The experience was great, from the food and quality of food to the formal dining. You were pushed to buy drinks but what do you expect!? Drinks were made stiff too. It was a great experience for my wife who had never been on a cruise and loved the attention and service provided. We look forward to many more quick trips on the Grand Celebration in the future! Read Less

It's not Cunard, but with an open mind, anyone would have fun!! We were a little confused with dropping off our bags, but we god it figured our. Otherwise embarkation was easy. Our suite was V13, was a nice size room and good view. We had a great room steward. Ate at the specialty restaurant both nights and it was really good. The bars were fun and common areas clean! . I would like to state that I had a great time. The ship was fun and the crew was excellent. This was only my second cruise and this time my husband and I took our grandson and daughter. Teenagers. What was good was that it was plenty for them to do. They had a teen room. I actually did not see them a lot on the cruise. The ship was beautiful with many decks and restaurants. There were many activities. I played Family Feud and won, did karaoke, learned how to Salsa and Merengue dance, and they had a great sail away party. The dinner in the Admiral Fest restaurant was great. The service was so good. We took the ship over to the Island, Bahamas and we embarked there for the day at which time we got off the boat, took a cab and went into the tourist area which was so nice. The beach was beautiful. We even chilled at Wendy's. Everybody everywhere was so nice. My granddaughter who is 18 said she is coming back next year and might come back to the States. She fell in love with the beauty of the country. As I did. All to soon it was time to go back to the ship. We left the Island, reluctantly. All to soon it was time to go. We stayed at a hotel the day before the cruise and the day after cruise. We stayed at the Hilton and the Marriott. It took a long time for the vacation to come and a little time for it to end. Cruising is a great way for families to spend time together and bond. Can't wait to go again. Read Less

This is our first time on this cruise line and we had a good time. We preferred this cruise line to Carnival, because the staff was pleasant and friendly, and let us enjoy the cruise the way we wanted. We were looking for a laid back cruise getaway and got it. There were several things we noticed were nice, where we could board at noon and start enjoying the ship, and they did not make us debark until 10:00 so that both boarding and debarking were very easy going. We had a good time in the Bahamas, the taxis to Grand Lucayan were efficient, asking people to wait until there was enough to fill the van, and only charging $10 for the round trip. We did pay $15 plus tax for entrance to the Grand Lucayan resort but got rained out early. From what we saw it looked like it would be a good place to stay on a sunny day, with pools and jaccuzzis. People we met at dinner took a banana boat to the dolphins which sounded like fun, and another group walked the beach behind the Police Station and went past Billy Bobs for coconuts - they also had the reputation for good conch fritters. A couple of things that were advertised was a $20 day pass to the turkish bath, which the Spa denied offering, but we really did not need that. Overall, we had few expectations, but wound up really enjoying this cruise and we will do it again. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms and ship were clean. Read Less

We recently took a cruise on the Grand Celebration and had a fabulous time. The people at check in were so friendly and almost everyone we met had a smile and helpful information. We upgraded to a balcony suite and it was the best decision. Room was spacious, bed was so comfy and I loved being able to stand outside and watched the sunset and feel the breeze. Our room attendant (Ernesto) was the best- always greeted us with a smile and he remembered our names from the very beginning. He really cared about how our trip was going. The breakfasts were great, lunch and dinner were good (could probably use a few more dinner choices). Disembarkation was a lot faster than we thought it would be. My husband and I decided to take this short getaway cruise because it was going to just be the two of us for Thanksgiving. Honestly we didn't know what to expect since the reviews were all over the place but we decided to go for it anyway. You could say we are open to a little adventure. Since we typically cruise on Celebrity, our standards are pretty high, but decided that we were getting a great deal (Thank you Groupon!!), and hey, it was only 2 nights! We were so pleasantly surprised!! We drove down to Palm Beach the day before the cruise so we could make sure to get on the ship as early as possible to look around and enjoy the time we were onboard. We stayed the night at Courtyard by Marriott, great stay as usual. The next morning, we ventured out to find a good breakfast and stumbled upon The Southern Kitchen and would highly recommend to anyone in the area. We arrived at the Port and Valet parked the car, be prepared and bring cash for this, $17/day. Easy 20 foot walk into the building, walked thru security, dropped off our luggage and up the escalator to check in and give CC info for onboard expenses. Since we were celebrating Thanksgiving with this getaway, we splurged and upgraded to a Balcony cabin. Would definitely spend the extra money again for this little treat! We walked thru the typical 'take your photo' in and then were escorted to the excursion desk. We had previously decided to just rent a car and explore Freeport on our own, which is typically what we do rather than an escorted excursion. At the excursion desk, we were offered free transportation, admission to an all inclusive resort, lunch, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), use of the resort amenities all for free!! We just had to sit and listen to a 90 minute presentation for a 'vacation club'. Well, who could say no!? So we signed up, knowing what we were in for. The next stop was at the beverage package table. Neither my husband or I drink much, but opted for the 10 drink booklet deciding we would just split them. 10 drinks for $65, pretty good deal, Morgan and Coke runs about $6.50, and I found the Martini bar which were $9.50+ each. Definitely worth the expense if you think you will use them. After this, it was straight up the gangway and on the ship! Really one of the easiest boardings we've ever had. They told us our cabin would be ready about 230, so we decided to explore. We went to the upper deck before it started raining and walked to the back of the ship. Very roomy, not very crowded and to our surprise, probably one of the cleanest ships we've ever been on. Considering this ship makes the journey back and forth to the Bahamas pretty much every day, thats pretty impressive. The bars and restaurants were very clean, food was really fresh, hallways, common areas were virtually spotless. There were a few pools, (can't really say how many, we didn't use them) but they looked really clean and well kept, towels were available everywhere. We meandered back to our cabin V1, about 225 and decided to see if it was available. They leave the key in the door so we tried and voila, in we went. I was so pleasantly surprised!! The cabin was so incredibly spacious, even with a walk-in closet!! Not that we brought a lot of clothes, but still, the space was there! There was a large vanity that was across from the bed, which was separated from the living area by a decorative glass wall. The living area was large and incredibly spacious with a couch, coffee table and 2 chairs, with a slider leading out onto the large balcony. Let me say that all of the balconies will have a partially obstructed view forward and aft, but this one was unobstructed if you were looking straight out. 2 chairs out on the balcony and this is where i planted myself to read for a little bit before we departed down to our wine tasting event! We are wine drinkers, and have done many tastings on many ships. This one wasn't as well organized and left a little to be desired when explaining the different wines, but as it was explained, we could have as much as we wanted in the 90 minutes of the event. For the price, it was definitely worth it. I think it was $12, and there were some wonderful wines from France, South Africa, America, Italy and Australia. Great variety along with some cheeses, breads and fruit. It was here that we were given the option to sign up for the Wine Connoisseur Dinner the next night. 7 wines with 7 courses... more about that later... After this we went back to the cabin to change for dinner. We dined in Stellar Prime, which is included in the cost of the cruise with no up-charge. I had the turkey (again celebrating Thanksgiving) and my husband had the prime rib. The turkey was pretty good, different spices were used that I couldn't quite recognize, but definitely tasty, with they typical sides of dressing, sweet potato mash, peas and gravy. My husband said the prime rib was cooked well, but it was definitely not a 'hefty' cut, and could have been a little more filling. I don't recall the sides but I can say the dessert was great! We were so full we went back to the cabin to relax for a bit, and watched the sights as we pulled out of port. We changed and went down to the martini bar for a few drinks and enjoyed the piano man and his songs! Great martinis!! We stayed for a bit and then decided to turn in, so full and relaxed, never made it to any of the shows or other bars! Bed was comfy but I kept waking up because of the ship rocking from the waves and wind, so can't say I got a great nights sleep, but not for lack of trying. We got up the next morning, had a few pastries and then went down to meet our group for the adventure that awaited. Group was about 24 people, we got on the first bus driven by Nell... I actually kept her card, we'll call her to drive us around when we go back to go diving!...They dropped us off at the Casino, which we walked thru, then took us over to the 'vacation club presentation'. We met with a nice woman, who explained everything to us, took us to a restaurant for breakfast, pretty generic, and then a tour of the resort. Nice resort, beautiful pools, gorgeous beaches, plenty of restaurants, spacious rooms...etc, etc. Went back, sat down, prepared to say no and said no, then got the hard sell.. Almost felt trapped, they were trying to make the best deal so we could come back.. etc. anyway, we finally made our point and left, heading over to try one of the restaurants we had seen. Food was ok, again generic chicken sandwich, (didn't have the fajita wrap because it was being prepared, burgers and chicken only) Anyway, enjoyed a little bit at the beach then decided to head on back to the ship on the next shuttle. Lucky enough to get Nell again and she gave us more info about the island! Easy boarding process back on the ship. Went to the room to get a nap and then get ready for the Wine Connoisseur Dinner. (Did get a good nap in this time). We were told to meet about 600 in the Martini Bar (lucky me!) for first course and wine. We had the understanding we would be with a group of people who signed up for this dinner, but it turned out it was our own private table! At this point, I can't tell you all the foods we ate, but I can say it was all absolutely wonderful and perfectly paired with all of the wines, and the sommeliers were attentive and explained all of the wines. If you're in to this kind of thing, it was well worth it! 7 courses took about 3 hours, and we enjoyed every minute of it!! Stopped at the martini bar to use my last drink coupon and then went back up to the cabin to sit on the balcony and enjoy watching the light of the Bahamas fade in the distance. Again, wind and rain that night, bed was comfy but not much sleep because of the rocking. Disembarkation was easy!! Had breakfast, took our luggage, walked off the ship and got our car! Overall this was a great trip! Although this ship is 28 years old, you can tell she is loved and well taken care of and so clean!!. The staff was there at every turn to help with anything we needed and our cabin attendant Ernesto was wonderful!! Can't wait to plan another short getaway with them! Read Less

The Grand Celebration made for a great short cruise. The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to assist no matter the time of day or location. I work in customer service and can honestly say that I was impressed with how kind and patient the staff on this cruise were. Especially with some of the particularly rude guests. A staff member was even kind enough to give me tips on preventing sea sickness on the first night out. It was a small gesture, but very meaningful. As for my cabin, it was very well designed and put together. The bed was comfortable and the view, though partially blocked by a life boat, was still a treat. My only qualm with the room was that there were not many outlets to fit my American charger plugs, but honestly it didn't detract from the overall experience. After all, I was there to experience the Bahamas, not my phone. The food was a bit limited at any given sitting, but had an overall pleasant variety. I personally loved breakfast. They made these waffles with a special iron that looked as great as they tasted. Also, the cleanliness of all of the dining areas (and really the whole ship) was amazing. Once again, the staff does a great job with prepping and cleaning all areas. As a hermit, I didn't participate much in the huge variety of activities around the ship. However I did go to the adult comedy show on the final night of the cruise. The comedian was well known, with his own Comedy Central special and was able to get the room going pretty quickly. My boyfriend and I still crack some of the inside jokes we heard that night. We also chose to have a couple of drinks in the ship's souvenir holiday cups while enjoying the show. The glasses are pretty neat and were surprisingly affordable considering the amount of alcohol that fit in them. Had I bought drinks earlier, I would have definitely purchased additional souvenir glasses. Overall, I would go on another cruise on the Grand Celebration, though I'd definitely shoot for a much longer trip. This was a wonderful first cruise and I look forward to going on many more trips with this company in the future. Read Less

I have been on celebrity, carnival, costa and princess cruise lines for a total of 9 cruises. This was a quick getaway that I took my mom on for her 70th birthday. She has been on more cruises the I have. Embarkation : was quick and painless. We pulled up to the ship at about 12:30 Pm and were in the buffet at 1pm. Very small buffet with limited choices but i had beef bourgenyon which melted in my mouth. No need to have a large selection if the selection you put out is well done. Cabin: we went in search of our cabin but were told our room was not ready. We wert lost and one of the workers, Pauline, actually walked us out. The music trivia involved a real piano player, not canned music. The food was 5 star! Miguel, our waiter took great care of us. Our room steward, Sherbelin was spectacular! Very personable and took great care of us. I have never left a dhip remembering the names of a cruise employee before and its several days later and i still remember them. Disembarkation: i think we decided at 8 to get our bags and walk off the ship. We got in line at 815 am and got into the passport line (which i highly recommend ). We were out of customs by 850 and i was home by 930. Unheard of. All in all, this ship doesn't have all of the same things a big ship might have, like bingo, but it was still the best cruise I have been on. It's all about the several and the staff was kind and attentive. Instead of pointing out corridors, they would personally escort you. No one treats customers like that anymore. I will be back!! The stateroom was pretty spacious and actually a little bigger then those we've had on carnival and they were very, very nice. The food was great, as good as we've ever had - no kidding i'm serious. There was food to be had all day long. there was pizza and ice cream too. and, believe it or not, there was a midnight buffet! (like we needed that) first time ever i was on a ship that served gyro! The dining room was very nice and spacious and the staff just great. We couldn't believe it. every lounge had live entertainment and really good entertainment at that. The shows were very good, and the pool games were fun. Everything was just great! Read Less

We took this cruise to and from Freeport... We were on the 11th floor, Marius and two other gentleman looked after all our needs boarding, leaving and in between.... the entertainment was good/great, geared more toward 60+ for the most part with the free show in the shows in the theater, yet the were parts for a younger crowd, magician and musical dance acts.... the comedy show for a small fee was to much fun, but if you are an uptight individual, or afraid of being picked on, don't go as you ruin it for us!!!! The suite was awesome, the food around the clock was great!!! the service was amazing.... Leonard at the service desk was extremely helpful and friendly.... Lots to do if you are up for it... Decks are loaded with places to sit and enjoy, pools, hot tubs, bars and servers everywhere!!! I would advise to avoid the karaoke though, it is way too loud and wicked evil bad as you might suspect... Admiral room for dinner was a pleasure with Giovanni as our waiter.... Just an amazing worthwhile mini adventure, I would do it again and again if able.... Read Less

This is the perfect getaway to celebrate my birthday. This is my 2nd trip on the Bahamas Paradise Cruise. Both times I had an awesome weekend. The services you get for the value is fantastic. My daughter and I drove from Orlando to Fort Laurderdale and even the 3 1/2 hour drive is so worth it. Once we arrived on the ship, the welcoming of the staff assures you, it's gonna be a great trip. Our room was very spacious, extremely clean and very comfortable. The entertainment on the ship is awesome. I love how they involved the guests to participate, from the dancing to competitions, so much fun. The conga line around the ship was a blast. The games and music at the encore room were fantastic. You can never be bored, there are so many varieties of activities happening aboard the Grand Celebration. The staff makes you eager to participate. Fun Fun Fun There are so many food options to chose from. You can have a sit down dinner at any of their 3 beautiful restaurant or just enjoy the many varieties of the buffet. Fresh made omelet's for breakfast was one of my favorites. I was compted dinner by the casino at the Admiralty Restaurant, they treated me like royalty, they even surprised me with a cake and they song happy birthday to me. That was an unexpected beautiful surprise. They make you feel like family. My daughter had a blast. We enjoyed the clubs as well. They have a great variety of excursions, my favorite is the Lucayan Beach, you can enjoy the beach, their pool, lunch, shopping, the casino and so much more. On my most recent trip, I met 2 of the most amazing people who made my stay and my birthday the most enjoyable and extremely pleasant. It's employees like these that make me want to return. Both employees should be recognized, they are Pauline Harvey, Maintenance and Rispo, the Casino Assistance Manager. I would return anytime just to see the welcoming smiles they have. We will see you again real soon... this is a must and no longer will it be once a year. I look forward to cruising with you a few times a year for years to come. Thank you for such an awesome time. I booked a package of what I thought was a deal with the grand celebration ship that sailed from Florida to the Bahamas. This was supposed to be an all inclusive deal meaning flying to either Orlando or Fort Lauderdale first then boarding the grand celebration ship from one of the two cities. After boarding the ship we sailed one day to the Bahamas and we were left in the Bahamas for three days two nights (the only good part of this whole ordeal). We then boarded the ship from the Bahamas to come back to Florida where we would then drive almost three hours from the port of palm beach to Orlando and them stay two nights at a hotel there in Orlando. This was supposed to be an all inclusive package one flat price for 10 days. Little did we know that getting to the Fort Lauderdale area where we're picking up our rental car (that was already assigned to us by the package deal) was from Alamo rental cars. About two months prior to this trip I was told by a telephone operator who helped set up my package that since my boyfriend and I were under 25 we would be charged a fee of approximately 25 dollars a day for our entire trip and then we would be refunded once we returned the car back on our final day. After getting to the rental car place (which again was lot of our choosing) we were told that "whoever told us that we would get the 25 dollars a day back was very much wrong and it was non refundable. As if that was not enough, the car we were booked with (again by the scammers) was an economy car. After Alamo saw our two luggage bags (which easily fit in a very tiny Acura RSX on our way to the airport with three people in the car also) they insisted that our bags would not fit in THE CAR THEY BOOKED US IN and that we must upgrade to a higher car. We asked the employee that helped us if we could just squeeze it in and she would not take no for an answer. She would not let us take our rental vehicle unless we upgraded which was an additional 20 dollars a day for the entire 10 day period. This had our total for our rental car alone at over 500 dollars !!!! After being forced into paying for an upgraded car for our two medium size bags we proceeded to pick our rental car from the parking garage. When getting to the parking garage we asked an entirely different employee to just SEE how big the economy car was to see if it was manageable for our two medium bags, just like the prior employee inside he refused to show us the economy cars and told us we had to go with the upgraded car because our bags would not fit completely shutting us down without even letting us just see the car. We finally gave up with the employees and just took the upgraded car since we were already charged for it. When getting to the first hotel I'm Fort Lauderdale there were additional charges that we were unaware of and had to pay for our two night stay there. Although the hotel was very beautiful and the staff was friendly it still was an inconvience for the additional charges. After checking out and processing to the cruise part of this package deal before even entering the grand celebration ship we were forced to sign up for a shuttle bus that was $18 a person extra for our transportation from the port to the private Bahamas resort (which again was a hidden charge we were unaware of). After boarding the boat we had to wait almost two hours to get to our rooms. When we got to our first room the air conditioner which was attached to the ceiling would not turn off and we literally froze while sleeping because we could not turn the ac off. the hair dryer in the first room was also cracked and was blowing out cold air. The good was absolutely disgusting and the buffet had no variety. There were no non beef options at the grill on the deck. The staff had no personality, they were not friendly at all. During the safety demonstration, the employees completed a two minute demonstration of how to put on a life vest, which was the worst safety demonstration ever seen. After getting off of the ship we were left at the Bahamas resort after the shuttle dropped us off. The resort was the only good part of this vacation and the only thing not disappointing. After leaving the Bahamas resort we got just barely out of the gate when the bus broke down in nearly 100 degree weather. The bus did not inform us of anything that was going on the driver simply got off and walked down the road where we were left in almost 100 degree weather until the next bus came. We finally got back to the ship and we're all assigned different rooms. After getting to our second room we got inside only to find out that the ac which was attached to the ceiling did not turn on, it was broken. We proceeded to call the front desk and let them know that we needed a technician to check our ac to get it to work. We were told on two separate occasions who call it that "she would contact her supervisor immediately" regardless to say nobody ever called nor showed. An employee from the trip came to drop off a paper to each cabin and asked if everything was okay. I then proceeded to inform him that our ac was broken and we already called the front desk two times, he said he would personally let someone know but we should use the fan that was in the closet. Again not one technician or employee came to check on us or our ac. We slept in an extremely hot room with a barely working fan which made it even more disappointing and I comfortable. To also add in there was a $9 fuel charge added per person as well as a $12 housekeeping charge per person added to each person aboard the ship. There was a charge of $17 per day for a valet parking pass that we wrte forced to leave our car at the port with which came to $68 extra which also was not told to us prior to this trip. We then had to drive almost three hours to our hotel in Orlando where we would stay an additional two nights. After getting there it was told to us that there was an additional 21 dollar per day charge each night we stayed. Although the hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly we were again disappointed in the vouchers given to us. We were given vouchers for breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day at the hotel which were supposed to be good for two complimentary meals for each. At the Fort Lauderdale hotel we were informed that the vouchers were only $7 each and we would be responsible for the difference on the bill along with an already included 15% on each voucher bull used which again was never informed to us until our stay. At the hotel in Orlando our vouchers that were given to us were only good for buffet meals. It was never communicated to us that we were unable to use these vouchers at the hotel restaurant like the hotel in Fort Lauderdale until we were seconds away from ordering from the menu. Overall this trip was very disappointing and had a ton of hidden charges. If we were aware of all of these charges prior to traveling thousands of miles we would've booked a completely different trip for a lower price with no hidden charges. This is a scam !!!! Read Less

This was a package deal, with a stay in FL, One night cruise to Freeport, a stay there, and then a One night cruise back to FL. This is the second time we've cruised with this company, last time was on their older, now retired ship. That time we stayed on board for the 2 nights consecutively and that was better than two nights separated by a stay in the Bahamas. It was too much, trying to move around, not really getting settled in. We've also done 7 nights on Carnival and that is great, unpacking for the entire 7 days and staying in one room. BUT, we knew what we were doing when we booked and it was a fun vacation, just not a really relaxing one. Embarkation was easy, not super long lines. Valet parking, $17per day, cash, very smooth. If you have all your paperwork filled out, that helps, but there were forms that we all had to fill out once we got there, but that was ok, not too bad. The longest line was signing in for your dinner reservation time. After that, right on the ship. We had a great time at dinner, sitting on the deck, enjoying the weather, but really, there's not a lot else to do. We caught the end of a comedy/entertainment show and it was good, the second night, we saw the whole thing and enjoyed it. We sat through the newlywed/not so newlywed game, and it was funny. The karaoke was ok, but that could be on any ship, it's the talent that makes or breaks it! LOL. The ship was not crowded, they said it was not full, but they also couldn't move our two cabins (we have in our family, hubby and I and our 3 teenage kids) closer together on the way over, we didn't even ask on the way back. But, it was ok, we were on the same floor. Our rooms were hot, but we asked our cabin steward for a fan and he got us one right away, and it was perfectly comfortable. The kids were very board on this trip. The kids club was kinda boring, my 12yo didn't want to go into the younger room, felt like she was too old for that. The 16yo played arcade games for a bit, but that got old. Our 19yo couldn't go in, the age limit was 18, so... We did get off and stay in the Bahamas, so the next morning, they were calling the shuttle bus groups to disembark. We decided to save a little money and avoid the crowds, the shuttle busses are the big charter busses, so not sure how many people they hold, and took our own taxi. They are there at port and were $35 for 5 of us. So, on the round trip, saved about $20, not as much as I thought, last time it was $5/pp, but that was fine, like I said, we also avoided the crowds. We just got off the boat when we were ready and were on our own. Getting back on the ship, after our stay, was very easy, just had to go through customs. We have passports, so that does make it faster. Our taxi driver dropped us off at port, and we had no lines, back on the ship in minutes. Again, the ship was a little lacking on things to do, but we managed. There was dancing on the back of the ship, and that was quite amusing, but so much seemed geared toward the Latin entertainment. I figured there would be a mix of music, a little island flair, pop, something else, but mostly just the Latin tunes. It did get old. The night club was dead, the casino had customers, but wasn't booming. The one neat thing, not over the top, but they did put out a midnight buffet. It was pretty good too. We were just so full from eating a late dinner that we didn't want much. Once you done ships with lots more to do, more going on, deck parties and things like that, ships like this seem dull. We choose to put our luggage out the night before, so we didn't have to carry it off. We had no problems, no lines getting off the ship. Once at baggage claim and customs, we had our passports, so we were able to skip the LONNNNNNG line of those with only birth certificates! That was awesome, we were out in no time. We gave our ticket to the valet, waited about 10 mins, had our car and were on our way! This was a nice trip, basically the way we did it, just a ferry to the Bahamas and back to FL. It wasn't super expensive, so we felt, for what we paid, it was good. Read Less

I must say, the cruise was excellent for the price. The food was ok it wasn't anything to run home and brag about but it was good/edible. This is the first cruise I have had to pay for the adult comedy show but 11.00 a person we throw that away in the couch. The clubs etc. we're good open late nights. I upgraded our cabin once we arrived at the port...man it was a huge difference in cost from what I would have paid online. So upgrade once you get there. The suite we stayed in had a walk in closet, whirlpool, two Tvs, pull out full size couch, King size bed, and 110 volts cabin v4. I would recommend this ship to anyone needing an quick inexpensive getaway. Find yourself an excursion, you would thank me later. Our room attendant was excellent. We couldn't have asked for a better person. All I could remember is his name starts with a "D". He cater to our every need. The pillows were always fluffed, bed was pulled back. I can't say enough about him. Read Less
