We had a great time on the cruise... Perfect if you have never been on a cruise so you can get an idea I'd you will like it. We were a group of six and three of us were celebrating turning 50, we had th best time.. Thanks from the beginning with the help with the cruise agent Kisesma she was very helpful and answered all my questions that a lot of reviews complained about...Getting on the cruise was very organized and ran really smooth same as coming back.... They offer drink packages but we felt it was cheaper for us to buy at bar... Food was really good always buffets going on food was gluten free which I thought was great that they accommodate. We were really surprised the cabins were bigger then we thought which was great... The only complaint that I would have is the is waiters constantly asking is you want to by drinks, it wasn't nesessary if you want a drink you can call them over. I did notice almost everyone felt exactly the same way... Onboard activities could have been better priced as far as playing Bingo etc. Other than that I would definitely do it again. Read Less

There's no comparison with other cruises, as this is another choice to bring passengers the opportunity to have a wonderful weekend with excellent service on board, I would like to highlight the quality of food, a delicious Caribbean taste, very good quality the entire day, kindly personnel dedicated to serve, especially servers at the restaurant. Well decorated, Extremely clean. They handle very well the timing for two nights cruise. Cabin, comfortable and very complete. Variety of excursion where we can choose good options. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. In regards to ship, even if it's an old vessel, is in a very well conditions, there's no place without maintenance, very well decorated. I would go again for a wonderful weekend experience in all aspects. I explored on the internet experiences of other people and based on my experience they went short of good references about the cruise. They really take care about Customer Service. Read Less

was rewarded a free cruise on the Grand Celebration through Royal Seas Cruises to Freeport, Bahamas. Had a terrible customer service experience and was given as little information about the trip as they could. had several hidden charges and like most cruises entertainment is supposed to be free... IT IS NOT on the cruise. the terminal messed up my whole groups payment information and the ships guest services authorized charges the were not signed off on. they had none of the documentation the we had filled out at the terminal. Customer service on the ship was AWFUL!!!! they were rude and ignored us. they blamed all of their screw ups on me and wanted us to pay for contacting our banks when it was their fault all of our information was messed up. went to reserve diner to only find out that only reserves one day... have to set up separate reservations for each night. Also, the size of the rooms on the ship are not as pictured.. and we weren't given enough beds for the amount of people cruising. the only part of the entire trip that we actually enjoyed was the excursion, and the only people that were a joy to encounter are Lyndo (Bartender), Anthony (Guest Services), and Anna Cruz (Asst. Manager Guest Services). Read Less

Someone reviewed this cruise and called it the "Motel 6" of cruise lines. This is not only silly, but totally unfair. As I understand it, the Bahamas Celebration cruise ship is a decommissioned Carnival boat that was sold to Paradise Cruise Line to run shuttles from the Port of West Palm Beach to the Bahama's. Sure it's a little older boat and not as glitzy and blinged out as most of the more established and popular lines, but it does the job and does it well. I purchased tickets on Groupon for a 2 night,3 day cruise to Grand Bahama Island. This only cost me $269 FOR TWO PEOPLE! I later called their customer service (who were always very courteous and helpful) and added my daughter for an additional $139. Where else are you going to get that kind of value? We had a very clean and spacious ocean view room. The staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. The entertainment was very good, ship activities were fun and the food was good. I heard many complaints from passengers on-board regarding the food quality and selection, these are the people who were just expecting way too much value out of what they paid for. If you only cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, or some other extravagant cruise line before, sure you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a great value and a nice time, you'll be happy you made the decision to cruise with them. This was our second cruise with Grand Celebration and we're already planning a third..... Read Less

We chose this cruise because it is convenient for us to leave from the port of Palm Beach and being only a 2 night cruise, it was easy to getaway. It was my husband's birthday & the cruise visited his home town, of Freeport , Grand Bahama. The ship was very comfortable & clean. Our cabin, which had been upgraded to an outside room, was well appointed, even providing a blow-dryer for hair! We really prefer to do our own thing, especially since we have experience on the island, so we did not take any of the offered shore excursions. We found our way to some shops & cafes for some Bahamian dishes...conch fritters & peas & rice...plus banana daiquiris served in coconut shells. Then made out way to a beach near the ship & swam & did some beachcombing. We had perfect weather, never even a white-cap on the ocean. Absolutely the calmest seas of any cruise I have ever taken. The food on board was never ending. There was always something being served near the pool or just inside at a buffet. We dined in the Stellar Prime didning room both evenings and were very pleased that our request for a private table for 2 was honored both nights. Our waiters & wine stewardess were very friendly & gave us great service. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was a short cruise and I wasn't sure if I would get sea sick or if my son and daughter would either get sea sick or not enjoy it. None of us got sick and we all enjoyed it very much. The ship was bigger than we expected, it was clean, there were plenty of activities, the food was great and the nightlife was plentiful and varied. The gift shops were reasonably priced. The employees were friendly, visible and helpful. There was always someone available if you had a question. Boarding and departing were efficient. The only inefficient process was signing up for the all inclusive resort while on board. It was supposed to be a time saver but it turned out to be a big time waster when we could have been enjoying ourselves on the ship. I would think that the resort was responsible rather than the ship but the ship should look into it since it does reflect on them. Overall, it was a great experience! Read Less

The food is fabulous, the ship is nice and definitely get the concierge package. Soooo worth it! You are treated like royalty! You get escorted off the ship past the multitudes of people. This alone is worth it. Includes champagne breakfast both days....upgrades for meals...bridge tour....champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, cheese plate and fruit plate in room. i had lobster eggs benedict....wonderful! It is a foodie trip! The wine sommelier and wine tastings are a treat. The cruise is reasonable. Bravo! This was our second trip and we will be back! You can't ask for more. Do yourself a favor and schedule a little break. Overnight to Freeport and back and a world away from work. Enjoy! You deserve it. I know we did. Read Less

Received a "free" cruise with option of staying in "local" hotel. Ramada Plaza Resort is about twenty minute drive from required time share tour. The two hour tour sales pitch didn't start until we had been there almost an hour. The breakfast consisted of pastries and drinks - not enough to hold a diabetic for the 51/2 hours we were there! The representative was new, but knowledgeable, but the RCI folks did not pick up on the fact that we already owners. The closer seemed to have a problem understanding we were not interested in adding their resort to our existing accounts, and we were suppose to board the cruise ship by 3:00. GPS showed a 1hour 11 minute drive to the port. First time cruisers were impressed by the boat, but we found the buffet did not have enough room to keep it stocked. The food was good and had a good variety, and the workers were very friendly and tried to keep everyone happy. Ice machines often were empty. Cruise was not comfortable. Chairs and pool area is difficult for arthritis sufferers. Cabin had noise from clubs and surrounding areas coming through all night, and beds were like camp cots. It was very clean and cabin attendant was most attentive. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we were looking for a first time experience. It was short but sweet! We also had guest with us, so wanted them to experience a cruise for the first time. There was a lot to do on this ship. Lots of entertainment throughout the night. So many things to do throughout the day. Lots of activities for both the young at heart! The cabins were great and spacious! The sail was smooth, even though we encountered stormy weather. We did our own excursions. It was very safe to travel as Bahamas had their own van/taxi service, which was very safe and reasonable to get into the heart of the city, if that is what you were looking for and also to get to the free local beach. Enjoyed this trip.I would definitely recommend to anyone who is going on a cruise for the first time. Read Less

Let me start by saying my first trip was through a Groupon and the ship was the Bahamas Celebration. I had wonderful trip and then decided to take my daughters the following year (July 2015). The room, which was an inside, was big enough for the four of us. Again, we had a wonderful time. However, this past trip was AMAZING!! I booked the trip right after I won $1,000.00 at the Seminole Hard Rock Café in Tampa. I looked online and the only rooms left were $449 a person. While on the website a pop up screen with a representative using live chat asked if I needed any help. I replied “well I am used to prices in the $200 range”. I was asked to call directly and was given the name Lincoln and to call this number (954) 414-1320 ext 213. As I was on the phone with Lincoln, he was very patient and worked with me as I changed my mind on date to leave, who was coming with me, and how many rooms I wanted. I finally settled on the suite for the five of us (for approximately $1500.00 including everything)! I was ecstatic! I also received a $50 onboard credit. Day of Departure, as we went through the embarkation process, Merle was our check in person. She was amazing! With the five of us it was hard for me to keep everything straight especially since I was the only adult with my four children. I’m sure she could tell I was flustered. I also left my youngest daughter’s birth certificate at home FOUR hours away. Merle came up with a plan and I was able to get the birth certificate emailed and faxed to her; she really saved the day!!! She really went out of her way. As I was leaving she held my hand and told me to relax everything was going to be fine. I literally told her I loved her as we departed. As we got onboard we went to our suite on the 11th deck. We walked in and were dumbfounded because the room was beautiful. I felt like I was in a nice hotel room which was much different than our last room (the inside cabin). The bathroom is to die for (Jacuzzi). The king sized bed was separate from the living area and we also had a roll up bed. Keep in mind I am a no frills kind of gal and being on the newer ships with all the bells and whistles doesn’t interest me. I’ve only been sailing with the Grand Celebration (so I really don’t have anything to compare it with). We had a balcony, minibar, stocked fridge, and a complimentary bowl of fresh fruit waiting for us upon our arrival. Within 10 minutes of us getting in our room, the supervisor of the deck, Marcus, came to our room and introduced himself and invited us for complimentary cocktails. He said anything we needed he could help and would arrange our dinner reservations as well. Twice a day our room was freshened with new towels, soap, and the beds were made or turned down for the evening. Our bucket of ice was also refreshed twice a day. Nurysa was our room attendant and was such a pleasure to have. He always had a huge smile on his face, he was always available, and he brought us goodies each evening (cheese and crackers, chocolate covered strawberries, and desserts). Since I had younger children, he would also make animals out of the towels and would neatly arrange my daughters stuffed animals on the bed. The room always looked impeccable. Everything else was fantastic, too much to write about…. I said all of that to say this, I truly didn’t know what VIP meant other than probably the red tag on our luggage at check in but I sure knew it the day we left the ship. Marcus escorted my entire family from our room all the way to customs check in/out desk passing all the guests who had probably been waiting on line for hours already. I was told the ship was booked to capacity and getting off the ship could have taken up to four hours if we waited online. For that reason, it made the entire experience one to write about and share with others. Although we had cruised before on the same ship, from start to finish this was the best cruise every. We couldn’t have dreamed it better than this. Read Less

This was my first cruise and I am not too found of being on water for any length of time. But the cruise was short from Port of Palm Beach to the Bahamas, ideal. The journey was smooth, no turmoil like on the plane. I received nothing but excellent service from the staff and crew members. My room was clean and the food was great. I looked forward to dining because it was our family time together. The children had a blast on the ship and on the island. I will take this cruise again in the future. I was surprised how smooth embarkation was. Maybe because we boarded the ship early. Although there were long lines during disembarkation but it went quickly. The Bahamas was beautiful as expected. The hotel accommodation on the island was excellent. The first day the food was great. The second day not so great. The hotel room accommodation at the Ramada Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale needed improvement, however the food and service was great. I traveled with my two children, ages 7 and 12 and they had a great time. However my 12 year old wanted more games in the game room. I will certainly take this cruise again and bring others with me. Read Less

We had an amazing time, the entertainment was great! So much to do on the boat from dining, swimming, entertainment, etc... I really felt like we were gone for 3-4 days with all that we were able to do. We traveled as a family of 5 (myself, husband, and 3 kids ages 1 and 8) and even my 1 year old twins had a great time in the kiddie pool, plus they provided pack n plays for sleeping and the suite slept our family of 5 very comfortably. we were overly impressed on the service in both the room and the dining areas. All of the staff catered to our family wonderfully, we even had a private elevator to get off the ship with our monsterous double stroller! We will be doing this cruise again and maybe stay in the Bahamas for a night or 2 next time!!!! Great food, great fun, great price~! Read Less

I personally wasn't expecting a lot because we are spoiled from the larger cruise lines that we have traveled in the past but this trip was put together by my sister in-law who has stage 4 cancer and it was on her Bucket List to go on a cruise ship for her first time.. The issue with jumping through the hoops to get the tickets from the supposed 90 min time share deal was so disappointing. We were up front and honest about why we were at Vacation Village .. booked for this ship and that we were not buying. ..4 hours and 53 min later they finally gave up the vouchers. So we get to the cruise terminal, valet parked for 18 bucks a day...was told 14 bucks over the phone.. No big deal. Used Handicap line to check in. The lady that did our check in messed up the tickets 3 times. It took 1 hour and 24 min to check 4 people on the cruise. GET A PASSPORT....it will save you time getting on and off. So..got aboard and went straight for the ice cream!! I remembered the ship when it was at Carnival so getting around for the wife and I was easy. Was kind of sad that the condition of the ship was just not up to par. You can see the wear from the usage it has had for all the years. Got to say though.. All the staff that we had contact with gets a A+++.. Absolutely no complaints...as well as the food.. I thought it was great. They can afford larger cups I think for the cash they get.. The free drinks were limited ..water apple.. orange juice..or something that had the flavor of apple and orange... The Tea wasn't to bad for being pumped in.. Had the typical bar drinks.. They didn't have much in the way of beer choices.. I don't drink lite beer and only like a few mixed .. Over all the ship was clean..just rusting and the wood teak is splintering. They could have more activities for kids. The game room had only 6 or so games. Kids were running pretty wild all over the ship.....which I am not knocking cause my kids had the same fun when they were that age..but I didn't let them just be wild. An now they are both over 18 ... Rooms were clean. only 1 US plug in so take a strip with you if you go on this ..what I call "Taxi Ride" to Freeport. The TV...well..lets just say THEY SUX.. 5 channels only...and old tech TV's.. I wanted to use the HDMi cable from my phone to play some movies but the TV was from the 80's it seemed like. Hard beds. My A/C vent was screwed up. Had to call for someone to fix it and after the 5th time, they showed up. The vent was held in with 2 drywall screws and there was very little air flow. That's because my room was last on the A/C line....but my son'\s room next to us was connected to the Kitchen. He had perfect A/C.. They gave us a fan so that was better Entertainment was great. The Casino was so small though... like only 25 or so slots...TIGHT slots I should say.. even the 1 cent slots were tight. Only saw 1 jackpot of 450 bucks...The table games were great. Good looking lady's dealing. I did find that most of the men dealers...not while they have a game going..seemed aggravated if you ask them how to play the game.. I passed those tables up.. They should give free WiFi.. The computer area they have..I never saw the first person using them.. Wasted space for sure. In Freeport.. Was my first ..and Last time there. There is nothing..even the shore excursions were kinda lame. My kids did 4 wheeling ..we did Grand Lucayan..and friends we met did snorkling ..4 wheelers were crap they said.. Guide was ok..took forever to get from port to destination ..Same with just going to Grand Lucayan Resort...Best part of that portion of out trip was the bus driver.. He was funny... Gave him a 20 dollar tip for the long drive to nowhere.. The market place was just like every Flea Market here in the states but with more colors.. Coming back was pleasant.. Pretty smooth ride for sure. Again entertainment and staff were great. At port this morning....a Zoo.. GET A PASSPORT like I mentioned.. I had mine but the wife and kids had expired so they had to use birth certificates. That Birth Certificate line took 2 hours. Only took 5 min to get the car.. Bottom line.. Old Boat...Old Port of Call.. Old standing in line for getting on and off. Old going through a timeshare speel... No need to ever go back to Freeport....But the main deal was for the sister in-law with her health issues.. We made it through with minimal drama about our stay and made sure he had a smile on her face for that will most likely be the last cruise she will ever be able to take.. I think I will see about a 7 day trip with her on Allure or Oasis.. Love those ships.. Hopefully she will still be with us.. Read Less

I purchase a package over the phone nearly a year ago. I had never been a cruise ship before. I had concerns of being sick from all the waves of the sea. And I have to say I didn't hardly feel a thing. I enjoyed a smooth ride to and from the Bahamas. The food was great I enjoyed the buffet. Found myself busy with eating, exercising or attending the variety shows. The staff was professionals. The other guest were just right group of people. The ship was clean and comfortable. I didn't attend any of the exclusions of fine dinning but I did see those who did. They where dress to the nine. This was an excellent opportunity for anyone. I have taken many cruises, but this one was the worst. I will start off with a few positives. The check in process was easy, and the entertainment show was very good. Now for the negative experience. The ship is very old, and the workers on the ship are not friendly or helpful at all. We purchased a room for 4 people, it was really a two person room with a bunk up against the wall and a roller bed with no room to put it, so we ended up sleeping 3 people in one bed. The room was not clean, there was gum embedded in the carpet. This is nothing but a booze cruise with very sketchy people. I did not feel comfortable letting my kids walk around the boat by themselves. The food was okay, I didn't expect much since this was a low budget cruise. The only thing I enjoyed about this cruise was when I got off the ship in the Bahamas, which is an absolute gorgeous place. My advice, do not waste your money on this cruise. Read Less

We live locally and this was actually our 3rd sailing on the Grand Celebration. There is so much to do, every room has something going on its almost impossible to experience it all on the first trip. Boarding was fairly quick and easy. After getting checked in at the port, you will start off by getting your picture taken and then to the excursion desk. You can also sign up for excursions on the ship but some seem to sell out quick so I suggest if there is something you definitely want to do don't wait! We visited the East End Cave and thought it was a great way to spend the day. Very relaxing and we learned a lot about the history of the Bahamas. We found out that due to this cruise line the Bahamas has visitors every day so they have been able to build up the island. I think that is great. Then you go to next selection inside the port, where you can get drink package coupons (if you choose), they have alcohol, non-alcohol, and wine packages - definitely purchase these in advance. You will then select your seating time for dinner. Then you board! Staff is excellent. We spent most of our time on the top deck at The Dancing Martian. Great view of the ocean from up there and best place to get a drink. The food on the Grand Celebration is excellent as well. We ate at the Stellar Prime and the Admiralty Club. The kids age club room were fantastic and free. I liked that they have 3 different rooms based on age so the big kids weren't mixed with the little ones. Our oldest son (16 yrs) played Guitar Hero with the game room attendant most of the trip, we could barely get him to come to dinner - lucky for us they close certain hours during the day so we actually could spend time with him! Our youngest (10 yrs) also spent time in one of the club room, playing games and watching movies. It was like having a FREE babysitter, so my husband and I could have some time alone and in the Casino! Casino is great too, the dealers teach you how to play and give tips during the game almost as if they want you to win - Imagine that! Cabins were spacious for a cruise, we had an outside cabin with a beautiful BIG window, gorgeous view of the sunrise in the morning. Cabin steward was very nice, he even learned (and remembered) our names. I mentioned we had gone of this cruise prior, even the cabin steward from our last trip remembered us and trust me we are not that exciting or memorable! Don't miss the shows and if you can try to catch the adults only comedy show, it cost extra but he was extremely funny. We will without a doubt go again and would recommend this cruise to anyone! Money well spent and we now have memories that will last my family and I a lifetime. Thank you Bahamas Paradise and The Grand Celebration for an amazing vacation Read Less

The ship was clean, the food was good, the entertainment was great...hey, NO complaints here!! I'm going again, this time to Bimini (I guess they change their destination in the Fall) and I can't wait. Take a chance, I'm more than positive you will have a wonderful time! While I was onboard I checked out all the little "clubs" and casino. The Dancing Martian at the rear of the ship and under the stars was the best. Chose this because we were traveling with our parents. It was their first cruise, so we thought a short one would be suffice. We had cruised to Nassau before and were hopeful that Freeport would be just as awesome. The ship itself was dated. The rooms were a nice size. The food was ok, but seemed limited. Shows were average and the clubs were nice. The most disappointing part of the trip was Freeport. Not as exciting as Nassua. While the driver tried to impress, there really wasn't much to see and the history of the young island is limited. It is necessary to take a taxi to "civilization" where the beaches and shopping district are. Getting off of the ship was a chore. Long lines at customs made for a 2 hour wait, however, valet was pretty quick. Not a phenomenal experience, but you get what you pay for. Good trip for a weekend getaway. My husband went into this THINKING it was a great deal for our familly! WRONG! As I looked into it, it was linked to a time share presentation! We had 7 people in our party (2 adults 4 kids). EVERYTHING costed extra! The game room isn't included, comedy shows, etc. Ive seen better pool areas at an apartment complex! Our kids (17,17,16,15,10) were bored to death! And honestly, my husband and i were too! Not alot for kids to do! Play video game (that cost extra) all day! All we could enjoy was the food! Its a repetative menu! We paid $1400 for the cruise + $600 extra in Port fees for 3 of our guests. We had to stay on land (Ft Lauderdale) for 2 nights so we could do the timeshare presentation. The sales people won't take no for an answer! The hotel (Sawgrass Grand) was nice. Extra expenses, $30 a day per room resort fee, and $50 per room deposit! I was told we would be given meal vouchers (breakfast, lunch, dinner)! More like meal coupons! $7 breakfast for 4 people, when the hotel breakfast was $12.95! Consisted of oatmeal, french toast (aunt Jemima), sausage, hash browns, eggs, oranges, bananas, and apples! Definitely not worth $12.95! Not even worth the $5.95 + the $3.95 gratuity they charge per ticket! Same with lunch (hotel didnt even serve lunch) and dinner (bar food menu)! I was also told we would recieve a gas card, i would have to send them reciepts and they would reimbursement me UP TO $100! We live in Ga! Up to $100, i guess if they sent us $5, i couldnt complain because they said up to $100! After my credit card charges on boat ($12 a day pp for tips, $18 pp for oil, drinks, game room) an extra $45 was charged after we departed off ship for god knows what and paying off the package, excursions on island for family, we spent about $4500! Please don't waste your money! While we were porting in Bahamas, our kids saw Carnival Ectasy and said, why can't we get on that ship! For what we spent, we should have! Read Less

We needed to get away for a weekend and Groupon had a 2 for 1 deal. The Pros: the buffet food; the service staff the embarkation and disembarkation process; the lounge entertainment. The Cons: this is an old ship. No balconies. Half the time one or more elevators were out of condition. The Admiralty Restaurant is not worth the upgrade. The mattresses in the cabin we had were atrocious. The ship docks in Port Lucaya. Unfortunately this area never fully recovered from the 04 hurricanes and remains pretty well beaten up. Lots of closed buildings and poverty. The shopping area holds no bargains and we were actually happy to get back on the ship. Fortunately this is just a 2 night trip and you get what you pay for. It's probably unfair to rate this cruise in comparison to regular cruises. We have been to both the Caribbean and Europe on real cruise ships. We won't do this one again. Read Less

I received a phone call offering a free cruise. I never been on a cruise before so I was a little scared. I invited my sister and we had a blast. We did not have enough time to see Fort Lauderdale but we had fun at the beach. The hotel was not that bad and everyone at the Ramada Inn that we stayed on were very nice and friendly. We got vouchers for free breakfast, lunch and dinner the the 2 nights we stayed there and the food was good. Boarding the ship went smooth and when the ship disembarked it went smooth. The cabin was very clean and roomy. We had fun at the Casino and Encore Lounge. We did explore the whole ship and everything was clean and nice. We ate at the Ocean View Buffet and the food was so good. The embarkation at the Island Grand Lucayan was also smooth. The bus driver that took us to the hotel was so funny. The hotel was nice and clean also the employees were very friendly. The beach was so pretty and clear. Everyone at the Island were also so friendly. We did do the Glass Bottom Boat Ride and it was a little rough but so beautiful and we did the Bomb-fire at another resort and that was so amazing but due to the weather the dancer had to preform on the patio but still it was so amazing. The disembarkation from the Island went smooth. I think I just need to work on my patients cause when we embarked back at Fort Lauderdale having to wait to get off the ship and go through customs was not fun. Overall for this being my first time on a cruise I had a blast. My sister did thank me for inviting her; she had a good time as well. I would go again. One thing I almost forgot was you meet a lot of people from different Cities and States. Read Less

This was my first cruise and my boyfriend's second. I think this is great for first timers or short cruise seekers. If you are used to high end luxurious cruises then this may not suit you. If you can make a good time out of anything like me, then you will enjoy yourself. So here we go... Embarkment: They only offer valet which costs about $36 for the 2 days, cash only. Check-in was smooth and boarding was even smoother. We got there a little after 12 and by the time we checked in at the desk we were able to walk right on the boat. They have a green screen just before going on so you can take a nice shot where they put the ship/water behind you. You have the option to check your bags in so they are taken to your room for you, but they only check in roll-on bags. Rooms aren't ready till 2pm so we had to carry duffel bags around till then. Room: M37, Desk 5. Room is nice and clean. Only 1 outlet that I was able to find. You can bring a power strip. My only complaint about the room was is was pretty hot. We asked for a fan the second night which really helped. Memories Photo Gallery: A few hours after you board they will have all of your embarkment photos I mentioned before displayed on the wall where you can choose to purchase them. They had a special that included 2 photos, a key chain, and a magnet for about $20. They also offered professional/romantic pictures that evening between 6-10pm. You don't have to pay if you don't want the pictures. We did the romantic pictures with the black background and the one in front of the green screen. The photographers are great, they do a TON of poses for you. They were ready a couple hours later and they came out SO GOOD! It ended up being like $45 for the 3 we bought plus a couple key chains. Highly recommend. Food & Drinks: They have the buffet, a sit down restaurant included in the price with a reservation, and another fancier sit down restaurant that's an extra $30 a person. We chose not to do either of the sit down places because we didn't want to subject ourselves to a time. The buffet was good. They had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As well as a late night pizza buffet and a late night taco and nacho buffet. They also have burger and hot dogs in the afternoon by the pool. The 2nd day while we are at Freeport they have a smokehouse BBQ around 2:30pm that was good. Water, lemonade, tea, and coffee are free. They offer a $21 package for unlimited soda. They offer 10 drink tickets for $65. This is a good deal if you aren't drinking beer. Beer is about $6 a bottle so you would end up losing money if that's all you're drinking. Any bar purchase they add 15% service charge, including the drink tickets. Entertainment: We decided not to go to the shows so I can't comment there. They have karaoke each night at 10pm by the pool. We love karaoke so we had a blast here. We went to the Voltage night club the first night around 12-1am. There weren't many people there and the DJ was terrible, but like I said before we make a good time out of anything so I danced my night away and had a great time. The pools are salt water so I couldn't stand to be in them too long without my skin feeling dry. They have some other activities through-out the day. Freeport: We didn't purchase excursions because the weather wasn't going to be nice. Right at the port, about a 15 minute walk there are a few shops and a Senor Frogs restaurant. So I would suggest that if you aren't doing excursions. From what I hear the shopping district isn't worth going to. Disembarkment: 2.5 hours without passports! Be prepared to wait. Spent about $400 while on the ship (2 people). Read Less

We typically cruise from the Port of Miami or Port Everglades but Palm Beach offered a two day "quickie" cruise that we could take with other family members. We did this same cruise last year. We arrived at the port around 1 PM and valet parking was pretty efficient. The checking of baggage is slow as you must handle your own bags from curbside to a crowded hallway where two people use a check list to take your luggage to the holding area for eventual delivery to your cabin. Lunch buffet is decent and the "on your time" dining in Stellar Prime provided good food though service was a little slow. The entertainment was good and the comedian Landry was a hoot. We booked the tour to Taino Beach this time (versus Lacaya Resort) and it was the best. There is the lazy river, infinity pool, gorgeous beach and a restaurant with beachside deck. It's a little hike from the ship to the beach then to the resort but well worth it. The ferry ride back was great as was a quick meal of fried lobster tail, fresh conch salad and fritters at Big Daddy Browns at the market place. The outside cabin was ample but be warned if you are at the back of the ship it is very noisy with creaking and banging noises. The common areas were cold but the cabins could have been a little cooler for comfort. Will definitely go again for a quick weekend relaxer. Read Less

Absolutely fantastic time!!! Best cruise to Grand Bahama Island EVER! Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The staff was more than helpful, food was outstanding, passengers on board were all friendly, and the casino was SWEET! I do wish that the casino didnt close at 3am though that was a bummer. Other than the casino closing early, was the best cruise I've been on hands down. Out of alllll the big cruise lines, this one was just perfect. There were countless things to do, and I must recommend the comedy show. Outstanding is the only word. My family and I plan to continue to go at least once a year on this ship for sure. Next time we are definitely going to do the extra nights on the island though. 1 day in the Bahamas is quicker than you think. I will say I was surprised at how nice the staff on the ship was, compared to the staff at the grand lucayan. Maybe next time if we stay on the island the overall experience will be even better. HIGHLY recommend. Read Less
