After two days of driving with stops in Charlotte N.C to pick up grandchildren and Ormond Beach Florida, we arrived at the Port of Palm Beach Sunday around 11:00 am. We were instructed which line was for valet parking. Gave the keys to the valet and $36 for two days parking. The cruise was for me, two grandchildren, my friend Cherry, my friend Angie, her husband and grandson. This was my fifth cruise, two on Carnival, one Royal Caribbean and one on Norwegian. My grandchildren's fourth, Cherry's third and Angie, her husband, and grandson's first. Embarkation was Ok because you have to take your luggage inside the building to have it checked also, you had to take your carryon with you because the rooms were not ready until 2:00 pm. Disembarkation had very long lines if you didn't have a passport. Although my Cherry had a passport she had to stand in the non-passport line. Angie and her husband had passport cards but had to stand in line for over an hour because her grandson did not have one. We thought about getting a Groupon but since my friend didn't know much about it we booked directly with Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. The cost was a little over two hundred for each of each. I was well aware of the extra fees, gratuities, and Port of Palm charge. We have rooms next door to each other, four in one room and three in the other R30 and R34. The rooms were nice size and serve the purpose of restful sleep. A few noisy neighbors but it calmed down later in the night. The food was excellent. We went to the buffet and main dining room. The menu offered the regular prime rib and salmon with a surcharge for lobster and a few other items. The bar-b-que while the ship was in Freeport Harbor was the best meal of all with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, with potato salad, slaw and other picnic foods. We were surprised to see how far Freeport had not recovered from the hurricane last year. We took the beach and shopping trip. We paid $20 per person to go to Tanio Beach. It cost $3 per person to get in which was fine because we had the use of the facilities, which were very clean. Lots of chairs, food and drinks for purchase and overall a beautiful beach. The shows were good except the comedian was not funny. My grandchildren loved karaoke on the main deck. There were two pools and a hot tub, all were small, but the children loved them. My friend's grandson went to the children's club and enjoyed it. I liked the fact you had to sign your children in and out. All and all it was a great getaway and I would do it again if I am in the area visiting. Read Less

My sister visited from Canada so I thought I would take her on a little cruise. When we got to the port it was raining very heavy. It is valet parking only, and they instructed me to pull around from the covered area to get out. I told them I didn't want to get out in the rain and they said I had no choice and that I had to get my own bags out of my vehicle. When we went into the terminal, it was very chaotic. They had lines for drinks and dinner and no one let you know what you were required to line up for or where to go from there. It was very disorganized. Once on board we went to eat as our rooms were not ready yet. We sat down to eat and they came and told people to move because there was flooding from the rain. It was pouring in on the floor through the outside doors. The room steward was nice and helpful but insisted I complete the review on him ASAP. We did not even get a chance to see what kind of job he did. He wanted it the same night we boarded. The room was ok, not as nice as other cruise lines and not as much storage area. The shower constantly leaked out into the bathroom when in use. They had one bed set up so I had to request it get separated to two beds. This was done but the bedding for the large size was left on one of the beds so it was hanging and piled up on the side of the bed. The mandatory muster was scheduled for 5:30 pm and was postponed until 7:30 pm so those of us with the late dinner din't get the nightly show, it was cancelled for us. I had purchased the drink package when I made my cruise reservations. No one told me what to do or how to claim this. I found out you had to go to a certain bar to get your vouchers. When I went they said I was not in the systems and sent me to guest services. When I got there it had a huge line. When it was finally my turn, they said they didn't see it and I would have to call and talk to the booking people. They did let me use the ship phone. When we went to eat dinner in the dining room, The chair I had at my table was broken. I requested for it to be changed to 3 different dining room staff but it was never replaced. The food was not that great and people from our table said they would not come back to eat in the dining room again. I booked the sightseeing/shopping tour which was one of the recommended excursions. It was still pouring rain and they took us to a Double Decker bus that was open on the top floor. I requested the lower level because my sister could not make it up the stairs.Once the bus started, dirty water came pouring down on my sister from the above deck floor. The only other empty seats had puddles of water from other leaks. We had to get tissues to try and stop the leak. We told the driver but nothing was done. The tour itself was very boring and was advertised that we would drive to famous peoples homes, but we drove to two people that they talked about who were local, so not famous. The bus dropped us at the shopping area and said we could catch buses back to the ship on the hour each hour until 4:00 pm. We along with a group of other people waited but no bus showed up for us. Another bus that had a private tour to pick up ended up taking our group back to the ship after we had waited over 40 minutes. The rain continued the entire cruise, and the ceilings in front of the elevators by the buffet area were leaking. I took pictures of the ceiling leaks and the 5 buckets in front of an elevator that they roped off trying to catch the water. The other elevator only had one bucket to catch the water. the carpet was soaked and water came into your shoes as you walked through. When we docked they had us lined up on our floor in the hallway, almost the entire length of the ship. When we got off the ship and went to get my vehicle, the valet brought my truck and walked away. I had to place our bags into my vehicle myself. I have been on several cruises of 2 nights to 2 weeks and this was absolutely the worst cruise I have ever been on. The only good thing I can say is our waiter was friendly and had to deal with a very rude person, and he handled it well and professionally. I was so disappointed and felt like this had been an entire waste of money. I live in the Tampa area and travelling that distance was bad enough for such an awful experience, but I felt bad for the people from out of state and out of country who came for this cruise. I will never go on this cruise again and will NEVER recommend it to anyone. Read Less

Booked this cruise 3 months ago. I was told I would be getting an oceanview handicap room because my mother is in a wheelchair which is what I paid for also paid for a handicap room at the hotel we were staying at on the island. I spoke with someone 3 weeks before my cruise and told me I was receiving something else. I spoke with the supervisor who was supposed to email the ship so they can install a bench in our room so my mother can shower but was never done also it was my dad's birthday and was supposed to receive a cake for him. Cut to a day before the cruise because they sent me a confirmation with something different on it so I called again. I was told I was not getting a handicap room anymore and there was nothing they can do because the cruise was booked. So I called again on the day of the cruise explaining the situation and was told by Maria, the customer service supervisor, that this situation wasn't bad and I was ruining my own vacation and I was making this up but I had to endure this because I would lose my $1600 I paid. SO.. I went. When I got to the ship I endured the inside cabin which was not what I wanted and had to have my family suffer because this cruise line was insensitive to the handicap. When we got to the island, I was told by the TAXI DRIVER that the hotel closed down last October (which would have been nice if the cruise line told me). If I had known I wouldn't have booked this in the first place. Got to the hotel, which was not handicap friendly either, which they were supposed to take care of and again had to suffer through it. I work hard for my money and wanted to take my family on a nice vacation but this cruise line ruined it!! I have been trying to get a hold of a supervisor for the last week but they are either on the phone or not in and wont call me back. Whenever I try to get to someone they hang up on me, I write this to warn you DO NOT go on this cruise!!! It is not worth it... Save your money and go elsewhere. Read Less

If you can get on this cruise cheap like I did $104.00 a person It is a great deal! Ship was clean the room attendants did a GREAT job.Food was Good. Plenty to do on the ship and entertaining. Freeport was just hit by a hurricane in Oct 2016 so there was plenty of damage around the island. The Port Lucaya Market Place was ok but the pressure sales from the local vendors was a little tough but you really cant blame the locals. They are trying to rebuild their lives after the hurricane. If you want to do an Island excursion sign up as soon as you get on the boat. I seem to think they book up fast and really cant accommodate a high number of sign ups. I waited to sign up and was told they cancelled the ones I wanted to go on due to weather but the weather was great. so that led me to believe they had just a limited number that could go. Overall I had a GREAT time!!!!! Read Less

We really, surprisingly, had a lot of fun and good experiences on this inexpensive cruise line. I believe it was very worthwhile for the price point. The food was good and the drink prices seemed reasonable. The cabins were more spacious than I'd hoped for - bathroom seemed big for a ship cabin. We had an exterior, window, cabin. The boarding and disembarking process was quick and painless. There's so much to do and see on the boat, you may not even get to everything. We did formal dining. We saw the main entertainment show, both nights, and were impressed (the table service was top notch). We enjoyed the entertaining in other lounges, gambled and laughed at the pool-side games/activities. The pool is small and hardly anyone seems to swim - but we did! I recommend this excursion for anyone on a budget or just wanting a quick getaway. Ahoy! Read Less

I mainly picked this cruise because of affordability and the flexible scheduling. My family and I had such a great time. I almost did not book due to all the horrible reviews but I'm so glad I did. My cabin was V-11 and it was a balcony suite and it was very clean and well maintained, I had a time trying to work the jetted tub but it was still great. The food was just like any buffet and it was very acceptable and the omelet station is above par. I had an issue with our return driver, he did not return us to the original port which is on the opposite side and we had to get another cab to get us the the Port for the Grand Celebration (they have a private port). My mother enjoyed the casino and the kids liked the playroom with the gaming systems. The dance contest will get you free drinks and my mother won. Overall it was great and I have no complaints. If you READ they give you all the details like the drink tickets, gratuity and housekeeping fees so if you are prepared you should be fine. Read Less

I have only been on a Disney cruise before this one, so I had my expectations low after reading previous reviews, but since this cruise line was just bought by the Ex-CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line, it has had a lot of work put in to make it a much better experience for the value. The ship is an older ship, but it was extremely clean. The Grand Celebration (name of the ship) is also a small ship, but it was fine because the cruise is only 2 days long. The entertainment variety show was subpar and was the least liked thing on the cruise, but the restaurants and the onboard activities and music was great. A few other guests were telling us that this cruise was actually better than the Carnival cruise they were recently on. The rooms were extremely clean, and just average, not fancy or too bad. The bathrooms were really clean. We had the oceanview room. The staff is extremely nice. One time a guest walked up to a staff member in the buffet area at around 11 PM where they were only serving pizza, but were going to open up for snacks at 12 again. They asked if they could just randomly bring out pasta, and the staff went to the kitchen to actually ask and get the pasta for them! The shore excursion we did was the beach getaway with the open bar and the buffet. It was a beautiful beach, a bit busy with other cruise ship goers on the same beach as well, but the open bar was great. Overall, it was a great cruise for the price. It isn't a fully inclusive cruise, there are options for upgrading your dinner for the fancier restaurant which is worth it, but you can still have a good time without upgrading anything or buying any drinks. Honestly, alot of the bad, more recent reviews are coming from guests who are having wild expectations or honestly who have just bad attitudes about this trip. Both my Disney cruise and this cruise were positive experiences. Read Less

We enjoyed this 2 day getaway---nice ship, 2 pools, hot tubs..pool wasn't crowded since we went midweek although it was spring break--my son and I had the pool to ourselves for a bit, before everyone figured out it wasn't too cold to enter!--food decent, nice buffet, burgers and hot dogs poolside and ice cream cone machine...although that should stay open late! loved the entertainment--very funny comedian, good magician and excellent arial artist---good band to dance to in the Encore lounge---lots of bars and lounges, arcade...we embarked early for the embarkation buffet lunch...cabin was fine with a large window, my son slept in an upper berth which was kind of annoying since you have to wait for the steward to raise and lower it---water pressure was fine in the shower. We took the jeep excursion which was good, although it is misleading...they put 4 to a jeep so you have to take turns if you want to drive the jeep---we got a good deal on this sail, so keep checking for good prices---also prices go down for cruise photos when the trip is over so buy your photos then! We were disappointed there wasn't a water slide, just a baby one for the little kiddies...This ship is the old Carnival Celebration ship, but it is much better than the ship they had before when we went a couple of years ago. I did a lot of research before I purchased this cruise. I got a 'deal' through groupon, $269 for two people. When I called to book the cruise, I had to pay $65 per person for port fees. We arrived at 130pm, only way to park your car is valet, $18/ night, and only cash. There were about 300 people as we entered, no clear direction as to what was going on, we had to fill out paperwork for our on board credit account. We waiting about 2 hours in a line to get the room keys, and our info inputted ( which I had already done when I booked the cruise) . After this process we headed on board. The cruise ship is an old Carnival ship, VERY clean and polite staff ( this was the highlight) . They had a variety of entertainment that was suitable, nothing over the top. An adult comedy show was $12/ person, and wasn't that great. Check your weather as we had terrible motion sickness. We chose to venture out on our own once we arrived in Freeport. They loaded up 10 people per taxi for a 15 minute ride ( $10 round trip / person ) here you got to see the hurricane damage and a 'shopping center' with each store selling the same expensive stuff. $20 for a DORA shirt that said bahamas. AWFUL!! Honestly I would've just purchased souvenirs at the freeport port as you exit the boat and then spent the day on the now quiet boat. The excursions were expensive $100+ and I heard they weren't the best. A lot of people did they 2/4 night stay at a resort in the bahamas and apparently that was awesome. We had two twin beds pushed together to make a makeshift bed, it was awful and didnt lock even after asking housekeeping. Alcohol is very expensive, cheapest bottle is $100 of absolut, and soda you pay $20+ for unlimited . I would recommend getting drinks individually ( they had 50% off drinks during the entertainment, so wait for that) the drink package was $70 and was 10 8oz drinks, not worth it. $12 for a cocktail. Food was okay, set up was great, but certain things didnt taste right. we were sick and left the Stellar restaurant but the food looked amazing , also, there are two restaurants that are an additional charge, The Bull and Admiral club. You need your room key to get towels, and if you dont return them at the given time you are charged $20 per towel, same with room towels, if housekeeping comes by and you have taken a towel you get charged. Overall, we spent over $600 and this is without the excursions, definitely a waste for two mediocre days. DONT get this cruise, rather go to the Keys in a 5 star hotel. Read Less

So this is my 3rd cruise on this ship. I've always been able to book a Veranda suite, this time I was in V5. But now they offer a Concierge Package for an additional $350. A lot of people would think that was excessive but for me and my DH it was wonderful. My DH has the beginning stages of dementia and all that was offered was a God sent for us. When you check in the Concierge comes down and escorts you to your suite which was already ready. This is a shout out to Sandra our concierge. From there on she was at our beckon call. Our suite had a bottle of chilled champagne, a bowl of fruit and chocolate covered strawberries. We were given free passes to the wine tasting, a free cocktail hour in Commodore Lounge and free dinner in the beautiful Admiralty Club and a free couples massage. My husband and I passed on the massage. So Sandra came up with something even better, a tour of the Bridge. We got to meet the Captain, his officers and were given cocktails and canapés. The next morning we get a champagne breakfast in the Admiralty Club. On the second day we decided to stay on the ship. The weather was cool for us Floridians so we passed on the pool and went straight to the hot tub which was clean big and hot. We ate their hot dogs and hamburgers by the pool and it nice and quiet cause everyone was on the island. We got to see the Family Feud which was fun and my husbands favorite show. Then we were off to the Admiralty Club for a fast lobster and filet mignon. It was our anniversary so they brought out a small cake with a candle and Happy Anniversary on it. We were then off to the show in the main theater. Now my review on that is that the dancers were great, the aerialist was great, the magician was funny and the comedian was not. The old cruise line had a cruise director/comedian call Steve Zimmerman and they should bring him back. When we got back to our room there were homemade chocolates. So the trip was wonderful but now we have to get back to West Palm that is 50 nautical miles west. The problem was the seas in Gulf Stream are 10 feet going to 12. Our Captain knew what to do. He parked our ship in the calm waters of the Bahamas and wait until 4 am when everyone was asleep and made a run for it. It was great we got in at exactly 6:30 am. I loved every minute of this cruise even the rough seas. If you go in June you won't have any rough seas and I highly recommend this ship again but especially the Concierge Service. Read Less

The cruise was for my 21st birthday. I have never been on a cruise so this was a learning experience. I understand you get what you pay for but I definitely expected more. The pools and Jacuzzis were not filled until Saturday before we got off the boat. When we got back on they were empty again! I would call and ask and the desk had no idea what was going on. The deck security said maintenance but we didn't see any. We had 3 people and was assured the room would accommodate but when we got there, there was only 1 bed. We had to call and get a roll away. The food was the best part especially the restaurant that is included. They can't help the people who cruise but as a young person wanting to party I was disappointed. The music they played was outdated and no one was really participating. There were fun contests by the pool and stuff but that was the extent. The shore excursions are bs so you are better off exploring according to TripAdvisor. Our snorkeling got cancelled due to weather so they refunded us. They didn't offer any alternative which should have been a day at their own resort but at least we were refunded. The service was pretty good especially our housekeeper Sayuti, I believe. All in all the boat was pretty boring but if you have fun people with you, you might have a good time. Read Less

This cruise was a good introduction to cruising. the food was good and the weather was great. My issues were that the information was sparse on where things were on the ship, the intercom system was awful so you could not hear messages/notices on events etc. The cabin was clean but small. The bunk bed states no one over 200 lbs so we had to get a cot brought in as our teenager just reached that limit and we did not want him crashing to the floor. The buffets featured a variety of food and there was always something being served somewhere on the ship. The dining room for sit down menu meals (complementary) featured a lot of foods with a high salt content. Generally the staff were excellent. The only issue was the gift shop where some of the staff were rude and disrespectful. On board entertainment was mostly based on dancing and drinking. Drinks were very expensive but if you bought a $14 glass you could get alcoholic drinks in it for $11. They also sold tickets for 10 drinks for $65. Major issues of concern: not told we were going to a different island, very poor on board speaker system, disembarkation process - told to get up and out of room by 7:30 am and to debark by 9 and then after rushing and rushing told to wait for hours as customs were behind. People stood in lines for hours to leave the ship. Read Less

This was the first cruise for my wife and I, as well as our kids (12 and 9). We were joined by my parents, who are experienced cruisers. Overall, a great introduction to cruising. Security, baggage check, and check in were smooth. A little disappointed that there wasn't much more happening and more food (other than cookies and juice) while we waited to embark. We boarded immediately upon it being available in order to grab lunch. However, this made for a slow afternoon as there weren't many activities on the ship, and the pools were not attractive. (I don't remember seeing a single person in the main pool over the entire sailing.) Cabin was clean (we checked for bed bugs and came up empty). As we were four, it was disappointing that we had a 3-person cabin in to which they brought a roll-away cot. (Made for extremely tight quarters.) Other than that, no issues with the cabin. (Midway through the trip we experienced a problem with the toilet. Turns out other cabins had the same problem. By the time we next returned to the cabin, it had been resolved and was fine thereafter.) We only dined at the buffet. Food was good, and almost enough selection to cover everyone, including gluten-free options for my wife. Not having experience on other cruises I can't compare, but the food was better than I would have expected. We're not drinkers, but the one I had was fine. Evening entertainment was terrific (the main variety show) and we all enjoyed it. Went both nights. Other than a short time in the arcade and a heated game of bean bag toss (which was actually a lot of fun!), we didn't participate in further entertainment/activities aboard the ship. As per other reviews and the cruise website, the ship's currently sailing to Binini. (From what I understand, this is due to hurricane damage at Freeport.) It seemed the crew was concerned about getting everyone over via the tenders (we ended up dropping anchor at the south end of the island, doubling the tender's travel time); we ended up getting on the second tender which actually left exactly on our scheduled time. We spent the morning at one of the Hilton pools (don't know why we weren't directed to their large, activity-based pool) but it was fine. Had lunch at one of the restaurants on the resort property, and then headed to downtown Binini. Do not waste your time doing this. There is nothing there, and we spent our hour there only waiting for the tram to come to bring us back to the resort. Spent an hour or so at the Hilton's beach which was beautiful. Service was terrific - no concerns there. (My wife actually left a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table after dinner. Not a big deal, but annoying. It was actually picked up by one of the crew and who let enough others know that when we came back and inquired about it, we were able to find the crew member and retrieve it. Just very nice for a bottle of hand sanitizer!) Disembarkation was straightforward and quick. This was a terrific introduction to cruising. Wouldn't do this one again only because the ship's not big and/or the sailing long enough to have attractions for the kids during the day. But, I'd certainly recommend it to any first timers. We booked this ship for a Bahamas cruise but we ended up going to Bimini instead of Grand Bahama Island because who knows why. Pretty frustrating as we had to take ferris there and back and wait for 2.5 hours each way. we spent a total of 4 hours of our day on the island and 5 hours waiting in line. Alcohol was too expensive and drinks were extremely strong and didn't taste good. It's easy to bring alcohol bought on the island back with you in a backpack, they didn't check bags. Overall it was a very upsetting experience and I’ve never been treated so poorly by staff. The entire cruise felt like a sales pitch. Staff walked around and tried to sell everything from bottled water, to sunglasses. Not to mention the hidden fees like $12.00 per day, per person for housekeeping and additional port fees after we already prepaid all the port fees. Parts of the ship were blocked off because they were welding and painting while we were on the ship. The smoke from the welding was awful and the loud noises, very annoying and unnecessary. We also had a bad encounter with Jose from hospitality, I asked him a question about a coupon we had gotten onboard and he gave me attitude about how I had no common sense because I didn't know where I could spend this coupon. Excuse me? Also, they don't give you any information about anything onboard, its annoying when you don't know whats going on, ever. No schedules or anything were given out. We met some great people on their cruise from all over, very nice people who were just there to enjoy. But there were also a lot of sketchy people. Saying this cruise was 'ghetto' is about the way I'd describe it. Overall, we had a good time on the cruise, besides a few glitches, but if you're expecting anything phenomenal for the money you paid, well I'll just say you get what you pay for! :) My advice would be to spend about $50 more per person and go on a Carnival cruise. So much better! Read Less

We decided to book this cruise because of the low price and because we have two children (ages 13 and 15) who have never cruised before. We wanted something short to see how they would be. We flew to West Palm from NJ and had a taxi take us to the port. We arrived at the port at approx. 11:15am. We checked our luggage and went in to check in. The check in process was fairly smooth. You show all your documentation and fill out a credit card charge form for any room charges and tips you incur. We were also asked if we wanted to upgrade our room to a balcony suite for $250.00, which we did, and I'm glad we did.You are then given your sail cards and you go to another area where you can purchase excursions, drink tickets, the unlimited soda cups, bottles of alcohol and make dinner reservations. We purchased the soda cups for our children and I purchased the 10 drink tickets for 65.00. We also booked an excursion. When we boarded the boat at around noon we were told that the rooms were not ready until 2 pm, however they were ready around 1. We found the room to be really spacious. We had a double bed and then behind a partial wall was a sofa, a small table and two chairs. The sofa was also a bed and that was where my kids slept. Our balcony view was partially blocked by a lifeboat, but it was amazing to sit out on the balcony anyway. Having the suite also came with some perks. There was a small complementary fruit basket in our room when we arrived, and we also received complementary chocolate dipped strawberries and a plate of cheese and crackers. The drinks on the boat are expensive and the servers do continuously ask you if you need anything, but they were all super nice and courteous. And they werent rude when you said no thank you. The main pool is pretty small but there is another pool at the rear of the boat. The boat isnt anything fancy, but it is kept clean and there are a pretty decent amount of activities to do if you want to. We did not eat in the sit down restaurant, my kids didn't want to be bothered. They have one sit down that is included in the price and one that is extra. We just ate at the buffet and the outside grill area by the pool. The buffet food was just ok. The grill area out by the pool had hamburgers , hotdogs and french fries along with a couple salads , and an ice cream machine. Because of damage from Hurricane Matthew we could not go to the normal trip stop in Nassau so we went to Bimini instead. Since there is no port in Bimini you have to take a small boat to the island. We didnt have any issues transferring to the smaller boat like some people in previous posts did. We chose to just rent a golf cart and check out the island. Unfortunately there isnt a whole lot to do there. The one end of the island where people live is very poor. A lot of houses that look to be falling down. Its sad really. The straw market is literally a cluster of maybe 10 spaces, approx 8 ft x 8 ft each, that have stuff you can purchase. Mostly cheap t-shirts, hats, bags etc. The other end of the island is where the Hilton is and is much more like a resort. There is a big hotel and a bunch of rental units. At the very end is a beach where you can swim. We swam for a little bit then turned in our golf cart and headed back to the boat. On the last day we stayed on the boat until around 10. Another perk of being in a balcony suite is you get VIP service off the boat. The lines getting off the boat are crazy long due to having to go through customs. We were taken down and got to go to the front of the line so we saved probably an hour or two disembarking. Overall, we had a lot of fun with our kids. We played trivia, watched a show, played bingo, gambled a little, played in a corn hole tournament and just really enjoyed hanging out with each other. We also met a lot of really nice people from all over the place. I'd say it was definitely worth the money, just watch your spending on the ship. Our room steward, Ernesto, was wonderful and so were two of our servers, Erroll and Loermer, actually everyone working on the ship was great, but those three stood out. My kids have already said they want to do a longer cruise next year so they obviously had a good time. Like most things in life, it's what you make of it. If you let little things bother you, you'll be miserable. If you are a just go with the flow type, then you will have fun. It can be as wonderful or as horrible as you want it to be. My family had a great time. Read Less

memorable and enjoyable place to vacation. It looked like a poor third world country. We refused to even get off the cart and had it take us right back to where we came from. We ended up walking down to the Hilton and having a few drinks at the outdoor bar until we were able to go back to the ship. The food provided in the “cafeteria” was embarrassing. All everyone kept telling me was how much I would love the food and the variety of items offered. Every time we went to the buffet the food looked like it was frozen, processed and reheated. We ate each meal at the outdoor grill where we could watch it be prepared or in the Prime restaurant. To add insult to injury when we finally made it back and were ready to de-board the next day we were told that we had to go back to the service desk as there was a “hold on our release”. I got upstairs to the service desk and was advised that my card was declined for $86 worth of incurred charges, that even included FUEL for the boat… I can’t even begin to understand how you would have the audacity to charge each passenger for fueling the boat but nonetheless I called my card company and was advised that there was a fraud protection hold that was on my card for a suspicious charge. Come to find out it was the drinks at the Hilton bar in Bimini but because it was in another country they took security measures. I advised the charge was authorized and was told the hold would be released in 24 hours. I relayed this to your customer service representative who then stated that I would be held on the boat until the balance was paid. After I explained to him that that was unlawful imprisonment, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was first told there was not one available and when I insisted I was asked to wait. In my HOUR LONG wait for a supervisor I overheard dozens of passengers who had issues with credit card authorizations, one young lady had actually been asked to come the night before because they could not read the imprint on her card, she supplied it again on a new authorization form and THEY LOST IT!!!! Needless to say, after listening to complaint after complaint after complaint about charges I never actually saw a supervisor. The same gentleman kept telling me that “she” was on her way and when I started reiterating that I had a flight to catch he understood the importance of them moving expeditiously. However, I never spoke with a supervisor. I was told to wait for another half hour and then asked to sign a promissory note BY THE SAME GENTLEMAN WHO TOLD ME TO WAIT for the remaining balance (which I could have done from the very beginning when I advised they could run the card again in the morning as they had all the necessary information) After an hour and a half of waiting we were released to get off the boat but immediately heard an announcement that the customs area was full and they were asking people not to de-board until they could get caught up. We waited another 30 minutes before we were allowed to proceed off the boat and spent 2 hours in the customs area. Not only did I miss my flight but I missed a second flight home and we were not able to leave Florida until 8pm that evening (from a 10:40am flight). I spent my entire birthday sitting in customs and then sitting in an airport. My fiancée made dinner plans for the family that evening as my flight would have put me home at 2pm and the guest of honor was unable to attend as she was stranded in Florida, though we had family travel from out of state to celebrate with me. I have never been more disgusted with a company in my entire life. The professionalism, the un-organization, the blatant disregard for your passengers time, when offering such a poor experience is mind blowing. Read Less

Horrible experience all around. They were welding and painting the boat while we were on it, it smelled horrible. The food was mediocre at best. The waiter told us that the food is the same in both restaurants but they just charge more in the upgraded restaurant which we got suckered into the night before. There are servers dedicated to food and some to drinks, you can't just get service from one waiter and you have to track down the right people to get you something. Overall service was terrible. We paid for an excursion that was canceled and they said they would refund us but what they don't tell you is that they still charge you a fee if you get off the boat. The manager at the customer service desk was extremely rude. Worst of all, we upgraded to a balcony suite but what they don't tell you is that the life boats COMPLETELY obstruct the view from the balcony. I felt like I was being sold something every time I left the cabin. They would come up to you and try to sell you everything from bottles of water to hats and sunglasses to sunscreen. This trip was a complete waste of time and money! Stay away Read Less

We booked this ship for a Bahamas cruise but we ended up going to Bimini instead of Grand Bahama Island because of a storm. As a result, none of the advertised excursions were available. Fine, we tried to go with the flow. Check in was easy, you provide your credit card for tips and incidentals and they give you a sail card linked to your account. Our luggage which had to be searched (they confiscate any alcohol you bring with you). They brought our luggage to our room 4 hours later and left it outside the door. You might want to pack your carry-on with everything you’ll need right away. When trying to board the ship, we were pressured to buy drink tickets, bottles of wine and souvenirs. Trick #1: DON’T DO IT! The drink tickets come in a pack of 10 coupons and you have to present a coupon and your sail card every time you want to order a drink. If you do a drink package, DO NOT order a drink at the same time as someone else in your party with a coupon. My companion had her own coupons and sail card but the waitress would take both coupons and use only one sail card. What this did was rack up more than the allowed 10 drinks on my sail card and I was charged for the extra drinks which were already paid for by my companion. Also, if you buy alcohol from the duty free store you can’t take it with you and drink it. It is provided to you when you disembark. Trick #2: They significantly reduce the cost of the upgrade to a balcony suite at check in. We upgraded to a balcony suite and when we got to the room we had an obscured view because the life boats are all situated in front of the balcony rooms. ALL the balcony rooms have obscured views but they don’t tell you that. Trick #3: There were only a couple excursions offered so we booked a snorkeling excursion to the Sapona shipwreck. After taking a 30-minute tender to the island we were told that the ocean was too rough and we would not be able to snorkel the shipwreck but could get a refund once back on board. We decided to explore the island instead and then head back to the ship. Trying to get back on board the ship was a NIGHTMARE! One of the tender boats had broken down so there was only one boat every hour and a half. The line at the dock was extremely long and we ended up waiting almost 2.5 hours in line before we could get back on the tender. There was no direction from the staff and security was not keeping the lines orderly. People were cutting to the front and a fight broke out. There were no working bathrooms (the island shuts the water off at a certain time). The boat finally arrives and people were shoving and pushing their way onto the tender. We finally get back to the ship and request a refund for the snorkeling that was cancelled but they only give us half the money back and charged us for a “beach day.” We spoke to the tour manager Angeli but she was very rude and wouldn’t do anything to rectify the situation because in their fine print they have the right to charge us if we leave the ship at all. Trick #4: We found the food at the buffet extremely mediocre so we opted to pay for a nice dinner at their only fine restaurant, the Admiralty Club. I paid $30 for a filet mignon. The next night we ate at their Prime Stellar restaurant and the waiter told us that we could get the same menu items from the Admiralty Club but at half the price. The left side of the menu was offered at no charge but the right side of the menu was upgraded menu items from the Admiralty Club but at half the cost so eating at the Admiralty Club is straight a waste of money. Service was poor in both restaurants. Trick #5: The charges that you incur are grouped in multiple charges to your card. I had four separate charges to my credit card which didn’t match my receipts at all. I attempted to reconcile the charges from the invoice provided on the last day but it didn’t match what was charged from my account. I spoke to customer service but again, she was rude and refused to look at all my receipts in an attempt to explain it to me. In the end, I gave up and they got away with extra charges to my account. Overall it was a very upsetting experience and I’ve never been treated so poorly by staff. The entire cruise felt like a sales pitch. Staff walked around and tried to sell everything from bottled water, to sunglasses, to gold-by-the-inch. It was like a floating flea market. Not to mention the hidden fees like $12.00 per day, per person for housekeeping and additional port fees after I prepaid all the port fees. Parts of the ship were blocked off because they were welding and painting while we were on the ship. The smoke from the welding was noxious but I would rather put up with that than the rude staff. I do not recommend this budget cruise to anyone. Read Less

My wife and i had done this cruise a year ago for our 25th anniversary and wanted to bring our 2 girls aged 22 and 24 along this year. Nothing could have been better, down to the amazing meals in the Admiral dining room with excellent personal and very warm service included in the cruise. The menus were absolutely filled with finely prepared food worthy of a top new york restaurant. This was a sweet, lasting memorable experience for each one of us. We would do it again at any time. in addition, the time in the sundeck was superb, which my daughter greatly appreciated. The time at the bar was also enjoyable as we enjoyed a very inexpensive flight of martinis for us to enjoy different types of mixes. We enjoyed meeting another couple who spoke with us frequently and whom we befriended. I would recommend this cruise to anyone and plan to repeat it myself at some point. Read Less

This cruise was pleasant on an older smaller ship. We upgraded to a balcony room and it was super. The room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and over abundant! We had a 7 yr old child who had a blast on board with the staff extremely helpful with her. The entertainment was surprisingly good. The morning we were to depart for shore in Bimini the Captain determined the sea was too rough to let us depart onto the small boats to go on the island. Everyone was bummed and many were down right riotress. Don't really know the whys for sure, but since we couldn't get off we decided to make the best of a undesireable situation. The weather was gorgeous and the food was plenty. Drinks were two for one. All in all we had a great time and would consider doing it again. Thankful we had a roomy beautiful balcony room since we had to stay aboard the ship the whole trip. Ernesto and Joy were wonderful as room service on V-4. Read Less

The cruise was not well organized and you had to figure things out on your own. Much confusion with the staff especially when docking in the Bahamas.Sign ups for excursions were not advertised well and not much to do in Bimini. The one thing I always look forward to on a cruise is the food. The food in the main dinning room was horrible, my son got a steak that was raw in the middle, not rare but raw! Is there no quality control? The buffet was okay but not many choices, always seemed to have long lines to eat. I guess you get what you pay for, its cheap for a reason. I think I will stick with the bigger cruise lines in the future. Read Less

We just got back from our Bahamas Celebration cruise to Bimini. The ship is an older Carnival ship, but it is in good condition and big enough to give you a big ship feel. The embarkation went very quick. We were on the ship in about 20 minutes. We did get there at first available boarding. The cabin was adequate for the size of the ship and clean. One "gottcha" was my girlfriend and i were both charged $24 on our sail and sign card for the cabin steward. We thought the $48 was high for a two night cruise. The food was better than I expected for an older ship. A pleasant surprise. The drinks were $7 for a domestic beer and $9 for a regular drink tip included. The drinks were OK, a bit watery for the money. We did go to the main theater and watched both shows and they were very good. Again, better than I thought they would be. We had to tender in to Bimini and it wasn't pleasant or easy. Celebration usually goes to Freeport, Bahamas, but has been temporarily rerouted to Bimini while Freeport gets repaired from Hurricane Mathew. It took up to 90mins to complete the process. Once on Bimini there isn't much to do if you don't rent a golf cart (Cars are not available). We rented a six person cart for $65 for the day and that saved the day. We had to really scramble to find the cart. They do not have enough to go around. So get off the ship early if you want one. Once back in home port. the disembarkation went very smoothly of us. We were the couple of people to get off the ship when it docked at 7:30am. All in all this is a good product and I will be back. I was disappointed in the cabin steward charge. Read Less

The activities on the cruise, food and in general all the services offered were of high quality. The Latin rumba was very nice, a bit short the live presentation schedule. The performances in the theater were very varied and high level, I really enjoyed the dances and the magic show I would have liked to find more variety in the shops and even better prices, although the people that cater are very friendly. The pictures were very good and the people who offered the service were also very willing. An opportunity for improvement is the guide on the island visit in Bahamas where one could really feel alone. The pool is a bit small for the amount of people they board. It could be improved on board game options for travelers, to offer alternatives to people who do not like the options offered by the cruise. Well overall my opinion is positive. Read Less

We purchased a cruise/land package through Groupon for our trip. The cruise was 1 night to the Bahamas, 2 nights on the island at a hotel and 1 more night on the ship returning to Florida. We had a very nice time on the ship. There were a couple things that were not right and I'll explain. The temperature on the ship, in any inside area, was freezing cold. I mean, it was about 62 degrees indoors and near 90 outside. You could not be comfortable no matter where you went. Even the staff was complaining about the cold. Many passengers didn't have jackets due to the heat at the time of year. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and show us a good time. The entertainment was great, the food was also very good with many choices. The hard part was the luggage issue. You were only on the ship one night so you couldn't unpack because you had to take all your belongings with you in the a.m. when you disembarked the ship in the Bahamas. The ship was very clean and in good repair. The stateroom was clean and comfortable except for the cold temperature. The hotel (Grand Lucayan was miserable. I do not recommend staying there if visiting the Bahamas. Read Less

We had a great time, we weren't expecting a 5 star experience as in the bigger ships. The food was good, the entertainment was decent and the rooms were actually great. They were much bigger than in the cruise we've been on in the past. It was a quick getaway and it truly exceeded our expectations. For the price we would Definitely recommend and we'll cruise with them again in the future. I can say that they were much more coordinated than in our experience. The boarding and un-boarding was quite simple. They provide parking for 18/ per day which I thought was pretty average. The alcohol packages aren't great, but not too terrible either. The only thing I would say they could improve on would be on their kids programs. Our son wasn't very thrilled about their programs, but I wasn't expecting Disney either. We went on a quick family vacation and our expectations were exceeded. If you're looking for a 5 start retreat pay for that. This isn't what you're going to experience here, but if you're looking for a quick fun getaway book your cruise and make the best of it. We DID! Read Less
