Please read the entire review, ignoring my age my what i say is entirely true. I choose this cruise because I and my family found a discount on Groupon for it. The overall price was about $800 for my parents and my sister. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The ship was tiny. The pool is so small that at first, I thought it was a hot tub. There isn't much stuff for people under 18 to do. I am 12 years old, and when my family was away, I had to stay at a kids club. It was horrible. The ages are 3-6, 7-12, 13-17. I couldn't go to the 13-17 club because they were mostly 17, and the 7-12 club was mostly 7-year-olds! It was such a depressing time. The room was so cramped. When I went, all I did was blow a balloon, draw a face on it, and pop it, watch a movie and that's it. I hated it. I made sure I didn't go back there. Also, the cabins were okay. They were pretty small on the most part and the ocean view was very tiny. My suitcase was bigger than the window. The bathroom was also okay. Very small. The shower was so small, that all you had room for was yourself and a washcloth, which I guess it the purpose. Also, DO NOT BE FOOLED by the squares you get in a package that says "deodorant." its actual soap. The soap dispenser in the actual shower is shampoo. Dining could've been better. All the food tasted bland, except for taco night. The rest tasted like old chewing gum. I would suggest dining at the Yellow Elder if you want some quality food. Entertainment is mostly reserved for adults and the service is awful. The only thing that was on the menu for room service was a Turkey Sandwich. Seriously?? Excursions were too expensive for the product. I went to Lucaya beach in the Bahamas and that was fun. There was a pool on a cliff right next to the beach and a DJ. The marketplace in the Bahamas was confusing. Many people had the same products at different prices. When you start walking away, they start lowering the prices, begging you to come back. Make sure to get what your money is worth. I don't plan on coming back at all. That's all I have to say. Peace out. Read Less

It was a long weekend and I was looking for deals for vacation, as I was looking for a budget trip but due too long weekend the prices were high everywhere and sometimes dates was not available, finally i came to the page of Bahamas paradise, after going through the reviews I was really horrified with what people stating but still I took a chance to go, I reached port of palm beach carried our passport, the process to check in was simple and nice, we were offered cookies and drinks before we enter the actual ship. INSIDE SHIP:- bit scared by reviews I entered inside and everything was decent, decent enough to praise everything for a budget trip, rooms took some time to be ready, so meanwhile we took a look to other sections, the upper deck was nice, nicely organized everything was good. still I was looking for something worst would come up but fortunately no, everything from entry to deck, rooms were much bigger, nice staff, decent dinning with good food, even they had option for indian food. so in short i would say u name a place in the entire ship and that was all decent, nothing bad nothing worst. but yes if you are looking for v lavish and fancy vacations than you need to pay high. Dinning:- our service staff,Randy, v v decent, he even asked us after our food that if we want to taste something extra, so delighted with his service. Shore Excursions:- affordable and good. Don't believe the bad reviews it never ceases to amaze me how people write such bad reviews and then after I been on a Cruise, a Hotel, or a Destination I think what were they talking about? This boat is very nicely built in Italy and it shows. It is just a little more elegant. The Food was fantastic in the main dining room as was the service. Our waiter Jaquim I believe his name was was at our beck and call we wanted for nothing. The cabin (We had a Port Hole view) was good sized as was the bathroom and the port hole was large. The entertainment was very Good we especially liked the Diana Ross/ Tina Turner singer she was great as was the show in the Main Theater. The show changed and we went both nights and both of the shows were great and very different. We even opted for the Adult Comedy show the second night and Laughed so much I almost hurt myself. I strongly recommend an excursion if your are on this boat or any boat for that matter that stops at Freeport. Unlike most of the Bahamas Freeport/Grand Bahama Island is not just for Tourists but is Half Tourist and Half industrial. Unfortunately the Port is in the Industrial section a good half hours drive from the Lucaya Tourist Area. So if you want to get off ship it pays to do an excursion and enjoy the free bus ride. The excursions were plentiful and reasonably priced with choices ranging from a Day at a Resort to Para sailing, snorkeling, Feeding Sharks, etc. etc. Lots to chose from. For the money you cant beat this cruise we had 6 in our Party and rented 3 staterooms every one had a Great Time! Read Less

My husband 2 kids and myself literally just left this boat! We had a great experience, lots of fun, laughs and family memories. We have already talked about booking our next cruise. The staff was not extremely friendly, but not rude either. The food was ok... not bad.. many food choices. We checked in our bags, they were all delivered to our room within 1.5 hours from boarding, which we thought that was really good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Room service was amazing. They offered drink packages for alcoholic and non drinks, this is a great way to save money. The kids club was also great. Our kids were excited to attend and didn’t wanna leave. The only thing I wish they had more of was scheduled activities. They had a few.. not many. We have cruises on other cruise lines and it seemed to be a party going on somewhere at all times. Overall, we are extremely satisfied. Thank you all for a great family vacation. Read Less

Time Availability, and Budget all factored into my choosing this cruise, since I was already in West Palm for other travel. I did not want to be gone long, and the ship is brand new and from Italy, so I wanted to check it out. The ship did not disappoint. Unlike the mega cruisers offered, it had quaint charm and beautifully decorated throughout. You walk into the atrium with a Murano type glass sculpture and a up looking view 9 decks above. It was spotless. In fact, I travel globally often, and have not seen such attention to cleanliness detail from a staff like this ship's in a long time. The elevator buttons glisten, the floors are polished, the rails are varnished every day, and the carpets, upholstery, curtains, tables in public areas all were as clean as my own living room at all times. The Elder Yellow dining room was really nice. Food was average. Salmon first night was great, others had beef which was overcooked and tough. Service was fantastic, exceptional staff, every attention to detail one would expect, and beyond for the price of this cruise. Buffet: If you know Golden Corral restaurant, it is pretty much the same thing as far as quality and selection. No other way to describe it. Not bad, not good, just food. Soups were actually very good though. Seafood Gumbo and pepper pot very tasty. Breakfast had omelette station and what you would expect from Shoney's or Golden Corral. The area to eat at the buffet was nice both inside and out on the back deck of the ship. So food aside, the views were great, and service good as well. They have burgers, and hotdogs, fries, etc... outside as well. They were good. The ship is not overly large, a pleasant adult pool with two aft hot tubs overlooking the stern was really nice when leaving port. You can sight see and Jacuzzi simultaneously. Hot tubs were very clean and well maintained, as was pool areas. The second pool is the "activity area" pool and kids enjoyed it, my son won two contests and got virgin bahama mama's. So the other amenities are as follows: My cruise had 600 booked guests aboard. It was half capacity, you can't fault the cruise line for non participation in the events they put together, so here it goes: Casino was clean, smokefree, and what you would expect, nice new slot machines. Front room from there had awesome Latin band perform all night, they rocked. Front of ship crows nest nightclub was well decorated, had a modern dance floor with lights, smoke, etc... and a banging system with DJ but nobody went! Dead empty, not the cruise lines fault. The main lounge was like being in Monte Carlo, well decorated, tasteful seating arrangement, very open, airy, and great public space. Saw Donna Summer singer, was good. Night band was not that great though. The big shows were fantastic! No lie, they were better than the mega cruisers shows I have seen. Each night, same performers, totally different show. My teens had a teen area that was well thought out and a big space with full time staff to supervise. X-box, dance floor, etc... all for them. Went to Lucaya Beach on excursion, was pleasantly surprised by humor filled tour guide with microphone on our double decker open air bus ride to the resort. Very organized, safe, and gorgeous beach. Would do it again. The port itself has no reason to disembark, unlike Key West where you disembark and go on foot, there is literally nothing at this port but industry. USA Customs was slow and terrible getting off the ship at the end of the cruise. Waited an hour with only 50 people ahead of me. This has nothing to do with cruise line. Here is the thing, I feel bad for the bad reviews, everyone complaining seems to lack simple reading comprehension skills. How did you not know about drink vouchers, included vs non included amenities etc... BEFORE purchasing and boarding? I set expectations on what I paid for and knew other fees would follow, as is customary to cruisers, like gratuity, tax, etc... Being shocked about cruise economics is a newbie problem. The staff truly cares, Alex the cruise director is straightforward and humble of his beautiful ship. He asks everyone to fill out comment cards so "they can get better" and I do believe they want to, there is a sincerity in every cruise staffer I engaged with, my fellow cruisers were a true representation of South Florida with about 50 - 60 percent Black and Latino and about 70 percent under 50 if those things matter to you. Everyone got along, no issues whatsoever or bad vibes from everyone enjoying there getaway. Everyone greeted each other on the jogging track with friendly hellos as I passed by. Give this cruise a try and keep expectations reasonable and you will definitely enjoy yourself. I am not an unsophisticated traveler, been all over the planet, and my family came away from this experience smiling and enjoying the memories. Read Less

I read through a lot of reviews before deciding to go on this cruise with my 2 kids (ages 10 & 15). I tried to prepare for any potential issues brought up by other reviewers. It turns out I didn’t need to! This cruise was great! I will preface my review by saying I have sailed in Carnival 5 times before. I needed something that would fit my budget and time schedule and this 2 night cruise on the Classica was perfect! Embarkation was a breeze. We were greeted warmly and everything went smoothly during the process. A delicious lunch buffet was waiting for us when we got on board. The selections at this and all meals were great. Our room was a spacious inside cabin for three. If I had to say one thing bad it would be the shower size could have been a bit larger. There were plenty of on board activities to occupy our time with. We dined in the Tellow Elder for dinner and breakfast and the food and service was wonderful! We caught both big singing and dancing productions and LOVED them. We also caught some of the other entertainment around the ship and they were all great! I loved this cruise and look forward to doing another one! Read Less

I won this cruise on the radio. I am a frequent cruiser so I know what I like. This was an Ok cruise for 2 nights. To me, the shows were ok, nothing exiting and some of the dance synchronizations were off, but I understand. The staff was friendly and everything was clean. My kids were bored b/c they had no structured activities for them (13 & 15). The food was ok. We took the Jeep Adventure and beach experience shore excursion; save your money. The only thing we saw was a bunch of weeds and trees, a bat cave and a supposedly millionaires lane. The beach was almost deserted and the Lucaya Market place (not Port Lucaya Market) had only 3 shops. The Jeep we rode in was quite raggedy, but it did have a/c. I was disappointed because this excursion was recommended. BIG MISTATE! Do not pay for this excursion. A waste of money. The cruise was average. I do not plan to cruise with this line again. This was my fifth cruise aboard the Grand Celebration. This was a reunion with my cousin whom I havent seen in 14 years and my sister. We booked Concierge Deck level 11. There is nothing bad about this ship. Its been in our port for 3-4 years and has only gotten better over the years. Its the cleanest ship I have ever been on. Aside from the fact that the weather was perfect and its was a family reunion of sorts, here are my highlights. They walk you on to the ship, they ask you about what dinner times you want and they take careof everything. You are given a phone number and if you need something, its taken care of by the concierge. We were given a tour of the bridge and it was informative and fun. They also serve drinks and fancy finger foods on the tour. Because I have been to Freeport a million times I had no desire to get off the ship. The ship was my destination. So we took a leisurely breakfast In the Admiralty Club and then sat by the pool. We then caught a movie waiting for the casino to open at 3:00 and that is when the real fun begins. The casino was amazing. We saw a woman win $4,000 and I won $840. We bought all the pictures they took of us. The photographer was great. Dinner was always good and cooked perfectly. I live in Palm Beach County and I’m so happy this cruiseline is here. I am a caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimers. I love cruising and he cannot come with me. So for me a 2 day cruise is perfect. This ship is my home away from home and it helps me keep my sanity under my circumstances. With all that said there are different levels of this ship and everyone seems happy and enjoying themselves. Great job again Bahamas Paradise. The only criticism I have that the liitle market place where Senor Frogs is should be open all the the time the Bahamas Paradise cruise ships. It doesn’t seem fair that it would be closed because Bahamas Paradise always has a ship in port. My only beef and that should be negotiated with the Freeport Grand Bahama Island government. Read Less

The "newly refurbished" Grand Classica was a total disappointment, to say the least. Slapping some paint on the walls and updating light fixtures does not count in my book. Two toilet seats (one on pool deck and our state room toilet) completely fell off when lid was lifted. Staff was rude and not helpful in the least. TV did not have volume for most of the cruise. No washcloths or room service menu were available until late on first night. Garbage from previous cruisers was still in trashcan in state room. Refrigerator was warm, so forget about keeping drinks cold. Only two hot tubs on ship, one was broken. ATM broken. Head waiter in The Yellow Elder was extremely rude. Our waiter, Fernando, was the only staff member on the boat that acted like he enjoyed his job. Food was sub par at best. The bus driver on the excursion, we paid good money for, blasted raunchy rap music the whole time to cater to the drunken idiots in top of bus. When asked to turn it down, he ignored us. "Showtime" singers and dancers were lacking on talent. It felt like I was watching a dance recital for children. Everything was overpriced for the quality you received. Buffet food was cold and tasteless. Worse than army chow. In order to get a decent meal, you had to pay ridiculous prices. Day of embarkation, we were rushed off the ship by obnoxious staff members. I am severely disgusted with my whole experience. Step it up Grand Classica! Read Less

I know a lot of people say this cruise is a scam, but I don't think it is the actual cruise line that scams people, I think it is the private contractor's that book these cruises. We impulsively bought a "great deal" from Holiday Cruise Line that turned out to be working on behalf of a time share company (RCI/Wydham). We ended up spending significantly more money on this "great deal" and it was a nightmare to book. Luckily, aside from the hotel that they booked us at in Orlando (Park Inn by Radisson - don't ever stay here) most of the trip was a lot of fun. Aside from the extra fees that we paid to take this cruise ($82.59 for a beverage package - 10 drink tickets, $116.82 for 3 people to eat at the specialty restaurant - Admiralty Club and $115.80 for gratuity and taxes/port fees), we really had a great time. The entertainment was great and we had a lot of fun playing Name That Tune with the piano player at the martini bar. We also enjoyed playing board games which they had a nice variety to choose from in the lounge next to the martini bar. The main pool was being painted while we were there, so that was kind of a bummer. It was not easy to find a lounge chair either since it was Spring Break and the ship was full of people. The food was decent and they have top shelf liquors to choose from which was nice. I also managed to find a good glass of wine. One thing I want to mention is that dinner we had in the main dining room that you do not have to pay extra for was actually better than the meal we had at the specialty restaurant. Don't waste your money. One more thing - the Belgian waffles at the Buffet were probably the best Belgian waffles I have ever had. Seriously good! We really enjoyed the evening entertainment and I was very impressed with the theatre! It was super nice! They do a really nice job of taking care of this ship. It is very clean and the furniture is in good shape. We had no issues with customer service. Boarding the ship in Port of Palm was fairly painless, it didn't take too long. Boarding the ship in the Bahamas was a little concerning - they could not find our reservation! The reservation attendant had to go on to the ship and it took a half hour or so before he returned and told us he got it straightened out. Luckily it all worked out, except that our room was in the front of the ship on the way back and the vibration from the engine woke us up very early. Definitely will make sure we don't get a room in the front of a ship again! Getting off the ship once we returned to Port of Palm was kind of crazy. We ended up waiting until about 11:00 am until almost everyone was off the ship before we attempted to leave. Once we got off the ship we had to wait for a Valet to retrieve our car which took some time. We had to pay $19.00/day to Valet Park at Port of Palm - Valet parking is not an option, it is a requirement. I would recommend making sure if you are flying out the same day you return to book an afternoon flight and plan on relaxing on the ship until the very last minute. Trying to beat the crowds off of that ship and standing in line for a long time is not a fun way to end your vacation... Read Less

The Ship was great and room with ocean view great as well as our cabin boy that could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable. Loved the large bed and it was comfortable. However, when we went to the formal Dinning Room in the Steller Steak house I was shock that they would allow me to drink only water and not offer un-sweet tea and I was told that I could not have coffee with my meal that I had to have desert to get the coffee... WTH really I do not drink plain water so I was faced with a plate of dry beef that I was trying to eat with nothing to drink and when they finally brought me my desert they forgot the coffee until I had finished my desert and was ready to walk out of the dinning area.....I have trouble swallowing so this was really a challenge for me and I will never set foot back in the formal Dinning Areas of one of these Ships again if I should ever decide to cruise with them again. I did enjoy everything else for the price but just know that I will not leave home with out some crystal light in my purse. Now the upstairs deck food was great and you could at least get tea and lemonade.....Don't call yourself a upscale dinning facility when you do cater to your guest needs or try to please their wants. Embarkation was ok. It felt a little rushed when being given instruction filling out paperwork to get registered. They seemed to favor stating you need a credit card on file. I get they are a no cash cruise but they never seemed interested in letting people know they have the option of putting cash on their ship card in the beginning. Even after I said I would rather not use a credit card they still ignored that I had other options. Being a newbie to a cruise I was a little overwhelmed with what to expect, especially trotting along with a busy body toddler. The lines where very long. Not sure what would have been the best time to arrive to avoid the crowd. We got there around 1pm for check in and must have been in the line for at least what felt like 2 hours. Once on board I wiped down every surface I could for my family’s health. The bathroom mirror had a glass holder that was layered with dust. No wash clothes in site, until I asked for them. Despite having a toddler signed up in this cabin I still had to request a life jacket for my child. The shower heads could use some good cleaning as well. Shower curtain needs help as well. I realized this was an old ship so I looked past a lot until the end of this trip. I will get to that soon. But since I am on the topic of the cabin, at the end of the trip I checked under the bed for any forgotten items. There was nothing, but dust layered under there. Still being optimistic and forgiving. Dining was ok. The staff readily available in keeping the place clean and stocked and quickly as they could. Food was good. The flow of people was never crowded till the last day for breakfast. The "free champagne breakfast" was lovely, this was a freebie for 1st morning on cruise. Can't recall the restaurant name but staff was friendly. There was plenty of activities to participate in for a fee. We toured the ship when we first arrived and saw all the areas of activities. From the dining, to the jacuzzi, go down a flight and your in the kiddie pool area with slides, into the gym located right next to the spa, with the secured children area, exiting this area led to the casino and band area, keep walking you will run into the photo area, leading right to the stage performance location where they brief you on safety. We had fun that night for karaoke and whatever we came across. Next day after breakfast we took a taxi to Lucaya Marketplace. Shopped and went to the beach. There were jet skis there. We enjoyed ourselves. My toddler had fun getting sand everywhere, literally. Husband had a blast, but the weather turned on us and got us drenched, which made me a bit miserable, but I let it go quickly to finish enjoying my trip. They lost out on a lot of money because they refused cash on a lot of things. Like the photo area. You could not pay cash at all even in the very end of the cruise. Overall, I thought I would come back until the check out returned us to the desk. Which by the way we got several papers in our door mailbox, one on the 1st day and 2 the next day, to see them about our credit account. We resolved each time but apparently not completely. Before we exited the ship we were sent back to clear it. Ourselves and multiple other passengers had to dispute wrong transactions added to our tabs. If they say it’s free for some reason they charge you first and say they will return the funds at the end. It’s like a rebate program at a store. They tried to charge me for the "free champagne breakfast", stating it was free for one person only. I quickly pulled out my evidence that no it was indeed for two as I was told and what the website states. I was not a happy customer anymore by that time. So many lies and confusion it was frustrating to say the least. Other people around me arguing about drinks on their tab they never had, just like myself. All the little things added up in the end where it left me not wanting to ever deal with them, just because I found the issues were dumb things that are easily fixable. Still contemplating if I would give them a chance again. But I look forward to trying a more experienced cruise line next before I consider this one. I also must give credit to the kind crew. Front desk not so much. Read Less

Embarkation was extremely smooth... we arrived at 1:00 in order to let the initial throng of people get through. It was a completely full this this weekend and yet once we arrived, it took 5 minutes for the Valet Parking to get our car and a total of less then 30 minutes from Arrival to drink in hand. I'll take that. During check in, you'll get your picture taken, then offered a chance to buy upgraded dinners, shore excursions, drink tickets, bottle service and just about everything in-between. Cabins are supposed to be ready by 3:00, they were ready at 2:00. We were located on the 4th Deck, just forward of MidShips. We had a king bed along with a pull down off the wall bed for our 13 year old daughter. Our bed was actually pretty comfortable, the room was of good size for a cruise ship and even the bathroom worked fine. It had the most closet space I have seen in a while with more then enough hangers. All we needed was a couple extra pillows and those were delivered in only 15 minutes after our request. Dining, we upgraded on the first night to the Admiralty Restaurant. This is a 5 course dinner in a nice well set-up dining room. The service here was elegant and fairly attentive. It took longer then I would have liked for a wine refill, however the food was presented very well and the taste was above expectations. The service personnel could not have been nicer. On a note, you can book dinner here as part of your included cruise cost, however it is a different menu and YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION. We also booked both mornings of a champagne breakfast that includes Mimosa, bloody mary's and such and a made to order fine breakfast. This was one of our mistakes. Not that it was generous in it's offerings, it's just that we don't drink in the morning and we don't eat nearly enough to make this work it. There are plenty of offerings on the buffet or cooked to order by the pool to make this unnecessary. Based on the number of people who booked this breakfast, I'd say there are a lot smarter people on board then me. Drinks... a book of drink tickets was $70 plus service charge; 18%. We received 1 book free as a promotion, then bought one more along with the Soda Refill package for our daughter at $21 plus service charge. You'll be given more then multiple opportunities to buy these tickets. We only used 10 the both days combined, so again a bad purchase on our end. There are drink specials with half price drinks at sailaway and bucket beer promotions as well. Unless you plan on having enough to drink that you'll enter a hot legs contest, slow down on buying these. Entertainment was good.. Nothing great except the comedian on board, but it was still nice. Again, keep in mind this isn't Broadway, celebrity or even carnival.. it's a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas. It puts things into perspective and you'll enjoy the trip much more. Service Charges.. yes, they have service charges as does every other cruise ship your on. No matter what you buy in the way of food or beverage, you'll pay an extra 18% in service charges. Even that bottle of water in your room, $4.50 and 18%. Now that your fully aware, get over it and don't complain about it. That same bottle of water would cost you twice that price at a sporting event. Kids Area.... My one big complaint. The teen area is supposed to be for teens only. Everyone was walking through there and even little kids playing there as well. Because of that, few teens actually stayed near the place. That's to bad as we had hoped out daughter could meet people on board. That didn't happen and with the supervision promised, someone should have keep those who were not supposed to be there from being there. Disembarkation was amazing.. Again, with passports in hand, we were off the boat and in our car in less then 30 minutes I'm glad we took this cruise. We spent way more then expected, but it was enjoyable and our daughters first chance to snorkel. We had a great time and would recommend to others with clear expectations. Read Less

My husband, two sons, ages 19 and 25, and I cruised Jan 12 out of West Palm Beach. We had a great time and really enjoyed comparing one of Carnival's oldest ships, now rebranded, with its newest ship, the Vista, which we sailed in November. Embarkation was so easy. We pulled up to the curb at the easily accessible and attractive glass port building and got out luggage out. The valet took our car and we chose to tag two bigger bags so we wouldn't have to take them to the lunch buffet. We were sent in and had no wait time to say we preferred the earlier dinner hour of six pm. Huge chocolate chip cookies and water were available and though I grabbed one for each son, they weren't needed as there was no waiting, just a quick walk onto the ship where an employee was greeting everyone and directing us straight up to the buffet. Bahamas Paradise is 100 feet shorter than the Carnival Sensation, but it doesn't feel like a small ship as there are still 10 decks and the cabin are on very long halls. The buffet does, however, feel a lot smaller. They don't offer a big variety, but we think the food is better than on the Carnival or Royal buffet. DH said less variety, but we don't care about a huge variety of not great food. Lunch was fried chicken, soup, large salad bar, fresh fruit and cheeses and desserts. Hamburgers and hot dogs are available pool side. Waiters are plentiful as is seating. We enjoyed sitting in the shade but there was plenty of room in the dining room and plenty of loungers. We were eating at 1 and arrived at 12:15. As soon as we started eating, the captain announced rooms were ready. We thought the rooms are the same size as we have had on our other cruises and as nicely appointed, better in some cases as we had ice buckets and tongs and ice without requesting. The beds are super comfortable, like the Carnival beds and as nicely made up. The towels are thicker than we've had in the past. We were in and out of Stellar Prime, the MDR, in an hour! We ordered right after being seated, our water glasses were refilled several times and the food was terrific. I pictures of the menus and I'll try to post them. On the Vista, we had to give up eating in the dining room. We begged for the dessert menus but our servers must have been too busy. We didn't like two hour dinners, no refills and asking over and over for the main and dessert menus. We've had better service on other Carnival ships in past years, though, and better service on Royal, too. The service on the Paradise was equal with the best service on the other lines. The shows were pretty good. The comedian was equally funny as the comedians on the other lines and the dancers were as good, but the singing was weaker, as was the choreography, but still decent shows. We had turn down service without requesting and several towel animals! On the RCI Explorer, we did not get nightly towel animals. The breakfast at the MDR was wonderful. Delicious omelets and eggs made to order and a buffet in the the room with waffles, french toast, grits, oatmeal, other cereals, fresh fruit, etc. Waiters circulated constantly with coffee and juice. On the RCI Vision, we had to eat breakfast at the buffet because the service was so slow and pitiful. The new ships are better and more expensively decorated, but the Paradise has some extremely nice features. It has some beautiful and fancy marble and tile floors, which the Vista lacked and the Helm on the Paradise is the prettiest room I've seen on any ship. It has an 8 feet in diameter glass mosaic inlaid light fixture of the Queen Mary and old ship paintings all around the tops of the walls. There are two massive bookcases with glass fronts and five or six polished game tables. We enjoyed playing cards in there and listening to the pianist next door. This ship also has a sweet shop with cakes and cookies and a counter of gelato. There is another counter of gelato in the buffet room. We are thrilled with the Pig and Anchor on the Carnival ships, but the lines were insane on the Vista and the bbq bar is only open a few hours of a cruise. On the Paradise, on the day we were in Freeport, a bbq buffet was set up pooside and it was open for hours. The hamburger and hot dogs were available in another area. We were very impressed with the bbq and the ship has a smokehouse. Astroturf covers one deck, which looks good and is nice for the many cornhole games set up. There is also a bandstand on this deck. The pools and hot tubs are not as attractive as they are on the other lines. This cruise isn't cheaper than more mainline cruises unless you get the Groupon, but with the Groupon, it is quite a deal We wish, however, the Paradise went to Nassau because passengers must take a taxi or an excursion to do anything in Freeport. We could not even walk to a beach. We enjoyed our time on the Paradise and wished we had had another night. Read Less

I didn't choose this line, but I went along with the family. Not mentioned anywhere on the web site literature was there any mention of the Hispanic dominance of the food and staff. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful. However, not all members of the serving staff spoke English. The ship was very clean all over. The restaurant "complimentary food" in Stellar Prime Dinning room selections were not to anyone's taste in our party. When the meals were served, they were generally the wrong selection ordered and/or barely warm. It seemed the waiters had trouble with English or didn't care what they served us. Thank goodness for the Plunge Grill and their hot dogs and hamburgers. Their best meals were found on the breakfast buffet. They did have activities for kids. There were many extras available for high dollar fees. Embarkation process was a nightmare. The first indication this cruise was a bad idea was waiting hours for the checking in process to begin. If I could get my money back I would have after the first hour. Getting off the ship was a lot easier and a relief. Never Again! Cabin was OK for one person. I pity the family of 2 or more the the typical cabin. Read Less

Okay, so you're going to say "you get what you pay for", but you deserve better! Pay the extra $100 for better quality! Its not the ship (which is older and smaller, so it produces more pollutants so beware when the ship is sailing and your at the back of the ship), its the crew/staff and the fine print! Of course you have some crew that are nice (mostly bartenders), but they obviously do not get the same training as other better quality cruise ships, especially customer service and anyone that you need to call. My friend and I needed customer service for the exact same thing, i went to one member and she to another, I was able to do what i needed, but they other guy told her no. There is a lack of communication, and it is obvious on the faces of the crew that they do not want to be there because they are overworked and underpaid. Wait staff at the restaurants are terrible, and took forever to change courses. As for activities, shows were very high schooly, in terms of performance except for one or two actors. It lacked a sharpness for having to repeat it so often. Spa was ok (i had a decent experience with a facial, but my friend's manicure was done in less than 10 minutes, not exaggerating), but obviously rushed to get in as many people as possible. The cruise frequently has extra charges. They actually CHARGE for the comedian. I have never seen that on another cruise ship. Its always included. You will be nickeled and dimed for many things. Expect to have a good hundred dollars extra because there will be things you never would have thought of. Not surprising is alcohol, but the drinks were small for $10 a pop, plus an automatic 18% for gratuity. Even if the service is bad they get 18%. There was only a few servers that i felt deserved that much. The cruise line should be paying them more appropriately. Food was cafeteria food. Sometimes they would try to make it look fancy, but it was still bland and lacked variety. I've had better lean cuisines. We decided not to do a shore excursion after seeing a review of the island on YouTube, which worked in our favor because we could get into the pools with less people. But man, that view! I hope you love the sight of shipping docks full of containers and boats, and oil pads with rusty ships! Don't forget the eyesore of the oil refineries! There are tons of them! If you get yourself in the right spot, you may be able to take a picture, crop out the edges for your friends to fool them into thinking this was amazing. Overall, nope. If this is the first cruise you have ever been on, maybe you'll like it because you have nothing else to compare it to. But once you go you will find a lot of unhappy campers who felt that they were misled. Read Less

We had been on this ship last year and had no problems. This time our stateroom was aft. Right above the engine room. For 45 minutes after leaving port and before docking the noise and clatter was horrific. Items slid off the shelves, the room shuttered, and it all sounded like there were loose items in the engine room bouncing around and hitting the walls. To all who sail on the Grand Celebration out of Palm Bay, Florida - do NOT accept an aft room. You will be charged the same amount as a forward room and you will think you are in a chamber of horrors. The room was clean and the housekeeping person was very nice. Many of the slot machines were out of order. The excursion was trip around the island and ended up at a beach where we had lunch. That was enjoyable. We did get 5 drink coupons - that was good. We sailed as part of a package deal with a timeshare presentation. We stayed in Freeport for 2 nights, then back on the ship for another night. I have been on 14 cruises prior to this one...the shortest. The ship was formerly operated by Carnival as the Carnival Celebration. It is a 30 year old ship, but it still looks pretty good. I would say not quite as good as other cruises, but as a smaller ship, it feels less crowded and more relaxed than other cruises. Embarkation was fairly simple, and debarkation, although fairly easy, came with one glitch. We decided to self debark by taking all of our luggage with us. While we had a time frame for this, the ship did not announce when the ship was cleared and we could leave. By the time we got off the ship, there were 400 passengers in line to clear Bahamian customs. Fortunately, we bypassed that line because my wife is handicapped. Recommend self debarkation, but don't expect an announcement that the ship is cleared. Some people diss cruises, but personally, I've never had a bad one. Just go on this simple 2 night cruise, and just enjoy it! It is what you make it. I would go again. The only two things that took away from the experience: 1) The cruise line charged us $9 a day for a fuel surcharge. Not sure on what this is based, as worldwide oil prices have been very moderate, and 2) valet parking the port (not fault of the cruise line) was $18 a night. So this raked up a bill of $72 just for the 4 nights we were gone. Not many other options. You can self park, but not recommended. Read Less

This was my first cruise. I had a great time from the start to the finish. Every step along the was was very well organized. The staff from the beginning to the end were very polite, professional and friendly. Everyone in their own specialties catered to our needs; the help desk, waiters and the housekeeping staff. I only eat veg and seafood and I had lots of selections. Entertainment was for every age group; and the entertainers ensured everyone had a great time. Thanks to everyone involved for the excellent memories and for a relaxing vacations. The tours the next day were also fun and filled with activities of my selections. My only recommendation is that I thought the music was too loud and always blaring from the speakers. It would be nice to have a quite time to listen to the waves and gentle humming of the engines. Again thanks for everything, hopefully I will be back. Read Less

I want to saw, my hats is off to the employees at Grand Celebration Cruise Ship. Everyone was super nice and very helpful. The food was excellent and their was plenty of it, must have gained 10lbs or more. I have been on other cruises but this one was the best by far. Our room was fresh and clean, their were plenty of activities that kept us busy, one big party. If anyone is planning a cruse the Grand Celebration won't disappoint. Thanks again for the great memories. The price was affordable and we booked the Bahamas stay for 5 days and 2 day Cruise through Royal Seas Cruise Line. Everything was included from 3 nights in Orlando and 5 days in Bahamas and then 3 night in Ft Lauderdale. What a wonderful time we had, well worth the money spent. Again if your looking for a cruise you simply cannot afford to pass up the Grand Celebration Cruise Line. This cruse is for everyone who wants to have a good time. Read Less

The entire experience from start to finish with this company was a total rip-off. Getting on the ship took an hour at the counter...we paid for our family of four, they had us booked in a room for only two people. Our table was given to someone else, even though we had dinner reservations for a specific time; we ended up sitting with another family for dinner. Then, they used scare tactics to have you buy into their excursions and ground transportation. There was not much activities for the kids to participate in; the overall service was not worth the money we spent. The only good thing we all enjoyed was the evening shows that had a variety of comedy, acts, singing and dancing. Our family plan on cruising again; but definitely not with this company. Even other guests that we talked to on the ship did not like the service received. (I wonder how they are still in business) Read Less
