What should of be a very Fantastic Vacation turned out to be the Cruise from hell... First off I called before ever purchasing my Package to make sure it would be handicapped accessible I told each party . People selling package, and called the cruise line and everyone assured me it was. I explained My wheelchair was over sized and gave them dimensions o chair all assured me they noted that told them my bathroom needs very specific need roll in shower and bathroom I could get my Wheel chair into and needed bars the whole nine yard only to get onto the ship and find that the chair would not fit through the door of the room period. The room was too small to maneuver even a small wheelchair in and the bath room had a threshold that was about 4 to 5 inches high that you had to step over not chair accessible...mind you I asked during the boarding process when they issued me the cabin they said they did not know if it was or was not accessible I asked them to please find out before I boarded the ship because if it was not it was pointless for me to get on. They made me go down to another line even though I was in the one that said wheelchair/ Handicapped Accessible The one assigned was indeed not so they found one that was supposedly.... so our bags go to the original room at some point while we go to the 2nd room assigned to me which is the one I just described above. Went to the people on the ship that were supposed to be able to help us and nobody knew anything about any thing I kid you not. They gave me the run around. I finally asked for manager they said they were sorry they could not help me with this that I would have to go back off the ship and ask them where I boarded about it... Not only was this ridiculous for so many reasons it was the height of people boarding and the ramp and plank and area we came up on where small and it was hard going over some of the places on the flooring that connected the structure to the ship and I was going against traffic by the time I got through it and back to the person who issued me the room I was so upset, so angry in a lot of discomfort and about to cry. After about forty-five minutes of waiting and explaining that the cabin they issued me I could not get in.......So finally they found a room that was at least able to get into and get into the small bathroom if I left the door opened and my chair half in and half out... Thank God my friend I was traveling with was a dear and old friend I knew for years and was a Physical Therapist so I was not so embraced but still....Then we had to wait hours for our bags to catch up with us and never made it out of the room that night to enjoy the ship too tired and in pain.... Just needed a place to lay down and use the rest rooms because non of the restrooms in the public main areas where not accessible and all my depends had meet there limit as well. I also must mention that the wheelchair which is 28.5 inches wide barely was able to get throught the elevator doors My chair barely made it throught the doors.........My experience once on at the Bahama Port was frightening because it was not at all handicap accessible it took three Big men to help me over the ladder like walk way which was so narrow and was made of thick roping like netting for the sides and railing and four men to literally pick up my electric wheelchair which weights about 178 pounds by it's self over their heads and carry it over to the land side of the bridge like walk way then I had to walk mind you which I can barely do. I have very arthritic knees and am a Big Heavy woman...... I was so shaky and not to mention the pain and stiffness I was in. It took me for ever one step at a time with the help of these men . But I had come this far and I had a week at an all inclusive very Fun and very accommodating Resort Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach - All Inclusive in Freeport………. Coming back on the ship you would think after all the hassle I had the first time they would of made note of it and made sure as I asked them to make sure I get a Accessible Cabin with the large roll in bath room. But guess again …… Incompetent but at least this time they did not make me get off the ship in the Bahama side….. That is the one of the little flickers of light in this story but they did not even give me a handicapped cabin it was a small twin cabin same as when Boarding this time I did not set quietly out of the way I made a big stink about it in the main lobby telling everyone in line about it…. They told me they did not have anymore rooms they where booked….. I told them I needed to Speak With a Supervisor and then they came and I had to tell them how to check and ask the people booked in Handicapped rooms if they were in true need or just a preferred preference because they where slightly more roomy….begin a Therapist myself traveling with another PT . I explained ambulatory verses non ambulatory need for a Handicapped Accessible room. They said they would check but would not know till everyone had checked in and the ship was on it’s way. Then I explained well if I have to use the rest room It will not be pretty out here in the lobby because non of your bathrooms that are for the public are Accessible…….. I had been prepared and had extra depends in my purse but where would I of had to change them right their in front of God and everyone or down a hallway in a corner…..I think it finally sunk in and they recommended that we go up to the Restaurant and get something to eat and try and relax they will try and find something….On the way to the restaurant I started chatting with a group of people who politely asked if this was my first time on a cruise ship I said Frist trip yes and last I told them of my experience as luck would have it a kind Officer in a Uniform overheard the conversation and took my hand in his and said Mademoiselle I am so sorry for your experience have they found you a cabin yet. I told him no not yet he said well come with me we went to the elevators my Friend and I cause only enough room for the two of us and he meet us at the Help Desk……Turns out he was the Captain & needless to say with in the hour we had a perfect handicapped cabin better than the one on the way there and while we waited we had free Drinks……….. We enjoyed the rest of the night on board and the next day enjoyed breakfast as we docked back in Port Of Palm Beach……. I will say this the wait staff in the cabin areas were all cheerful and nice and ready to try and help both coming and going but other staff did not smile or acknowledge you..... Except The Captain. First I wanna start by saying I have been on other cruise lines and after reading these reviews I was disappointed before I got on the boat. After I booked this vacation for me and my family a party of 8 we had 3 cabins I was so disappointed after reading the reviews. Thankful to say it DID NOT go nothing like those reviews. We had an amazing time. We got there and everything was on time and lines were fast and organized. Once on the boat we had lunch. Which is typical boat food buffet diner style food. It was good. Lots of choices. Half of us did carry on and the other half checked in luggage. Luggage took forever to get to room I recommend carry on. The pools are small there salt water but weren't over crowed at all. I was expecting something nice with slides a little bigger. They do have a kiddie pool small as well but again not over crowed at all. The dinner was at stellar dining room and the food was good desserts were delicious mango sherbet was to die for and the people so nice. One of our cabins had a small problem with the sink we let them know by the time we came back from dinner it was fixed. The other cabin has a problem with the bed and by the time we can't back from the pool it was fixed as well. We arrived at the port in the morning walking distance to the market had an amazing time at senor frog. Once on board the ship sailed and my son got sick the crew was amazing giving him crackers and green apples once he felt better we saw the show which was very nice and went to our 2nd night dinner which was yet again a very nice dinner. Beef Wellington very good and chocolate mousse cake was amazing. Lines to get off at west palm beach port were long to immigration but over all the cruise was nice. Do they have room for improvement? Yes! Without a doubt they need more activities for children. The juice was awful fruit punch. Coffee is not all that either. Boat needs more TLC. More activities for adults as well (night karaoke was nice on deck) Air condition in the cabins not very cool. Hot water not to good in the handicap cabin but in the other cabins was good. Elevator always busy(had to wait allot on them) It is a small boat and the price is way cheaper than other. For the price it's very good. If I had to rate the crew members alone I would give 5 stars very nice crew amazing attention with me and my family. Over all I would go again. Yes there is better cruise lines with more luxury and better pools and food but yet again this is a small ship on a small budget. Read Less

After reading all the reviews for this ship we used the Groupon special and decided to go. We left with low expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. Yes there were problems which any line could have. arrival was smooth and we were on the boat by 1:30 pm after arriving at 1 pm. Had to check luggage - this process could be handled better, not terrible though. Then when you get upstairs there is a line which go through pictures, choosing dining options before getting on boat. Again could have been handled better, perhaps lack of room necessitates this. Once on board we had a nice lunch and went to our room. Bags arrived shortly. Specialty restaurant had very good tenderloin and steak. Fri Diablo was not good. Regular restaurant for dinner next day was very good and had a piano player. We were pleasantly surprised that food was good after reviews. Our room was spacious, bathroom too - some newer boats have decreased space. Service throughout ship was very good. My husband could not find half and half for coffee, steward told him where to go. When he got there it was empty so he returned to his seat, within minutes the steward found him with a pitcher of half and half. They had a nighttime buffet which a lot of ships have eliminated and it was very good. Getting off the boat in Palm Beach was a pleasure if you have your US or Canadian passport. Two problems we encountered. Air conditioning - parts of casino were hotter than others. Our friends room had no air. They sent two service people who did not fix the problem. They did not offer any other option. Second day they gave them a new room - which should have happened the first day. They said ship was full but passengers come and go so they had the room available. Not sure if that was it but no easy to sleep without air and no circulation. Second problem which they said was Freeport's problem was getting back on boat from Freeport. Lines were horrible and as bus tours and taxi's arrived people cut the line, there was no direction once you got into building and only one scanner for bags. Our friend had a scooter and to get on boat he had to get off and walk in. The ship crew assisted with bring scooter onboard. The entertaining was very very good. We were off the boat in 20 min and got our car from valet very quickly. All in all I suggest going in with low expectations and bringing a passport not just your license and hopefully you will be as surprised as we were. Read Less

My husband and I have sailed with this company at least 15 times, both on their previous ship, the Bahamas Celebration, and more recently (4 times) on their new Grand Celebration. We have brought many friends and family with us and everyone we have brought has had a wonderful time (including several of our relatives and friends who are extremely critical of everything.) A number of them have sailed more than once. The cruise line has hired the most wonderful, friendly, efficient, thoughtful, talented and caring staff, from maintenance, housekeeping, wait staff, bar personnel all the way to the top officers. Everyone greets you with smiling faces and a nice "hello", a lot of them even remember names and faces. The Entertainment Director has had the ability to secure excellent talented performers for all their show lounges. There is a wonderful theater, a show area adjacent to the casino with a nice dance floor, a disco, a piano bar, and a more intimate nightclub lounge, which is where we usually wind up. The bar staff has the ability to make even the most complicated drinks, and there is an extensive drink menu at each bar. The pool decks are expansive, there is never an issue with finding a deck chair, and there is nightly entertainment on the pool deck also. The spa is wonderful! The staff there is very knowledgeable and proficient at what they do. Their photography staff is the best we've seen on any cruise line. We have a difficult time selecting photos because usually we want them all! The chef and his crew is amazing, they provide meals onboard that are comparable to any ship we have been on, and we have sailed over 40 times on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Norwegian, American Hawaiian, and Chandris Lines. Their specialty restaurant has a wonderful menu and is half the price of specialty restaurants on other ships. The chef and his crew is amazing, they provide meals onboard that are comparable to any ship we have been on, and we have sailed over 40 times on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Norwegian, American Hawaiian, and Chandris Lines. There is a very nice and diversified casino onboard also, comparable to other ships this size. They offer the least expensive Wi-Fi of any of the cruise lines, for those who must remain connected. The children's areas are wonderful and we have seen many children having a wonderful time there. We have met several people who use the cruise line on a regular basis, one couple we know have sailed over 100 times, another gentlemen travels every other week with his elderly father, and I don’t believe they would be travelling as often if there were scams regarding this cruise line. All in all, this has become a quick two night getaway for me, my husband, co-workers and friends as well as family, and we will continue sailing as long as the ship sails from West Palm Beach Read Less

Just got back from this cruise. Disappointed with the DJ there was no one at the disco and he didn't want to play a song we ask for. He was very rude to us. We tried to put a complain with guess services and they told me why was I complaining this is a cheap cruise it is what it is.... Our cabin Air conditioning wasn't working too good. Humidity was very high. Our bed and pillows not good. Boat is old and small therefore it really shakes the world out of you Lol. Food not good variety and the taste was not good either. Their bread was hard so us desserts. But, if you all don't care about any of this then go for it. I personally would never go back on that boat. Check Carnival, Royal Caribbean almost for same price. Because you have to pay 64.00 for port charges & taxes & $12 pp per day on top of the price they show u here. Just thought I share my experience with u. We all deserve to go on vacation but not in this crappy boat. Read Less

I went on this trip with a group of 14 friends. I enjoyed a lot the ship that to offer and for a first time cruise. I was able to enjoy things on my own time such as the spa which the Sana was wonderful and great for the price! I was a little shaky about the boat taking off so right about 6 p.m. when the ship left Palm Beach i went to the Spa to unwind a little. The drinks were great! All the bars were very knowledgeable of what they are doing. The shows, games and events that went on all through out the night kept a lot of us up and having fun till the early hours of the morning. The shore excursion was fun however I wish I had brought my own shopping bag with me to help carry my stuff that I bought. The straw market is great but if you are uncomfortable with being "Cat Called" of a sort don't go. They will do anything to get you to come into their shops to buy something. Also go a head an pick the option "WITH LUNCH" that's like $10 or so more because its worth it. Restaurants charge an arm and a leg for lunch around the shopping area. However if you didn't go out of the boat they played games all day and watched movies in the big lounge area. The food is so good, just go a head and have 2 breakfasts and dinners because you will want too! The gift shop has giveaways and I personally found a better deal on t-shirts on the boat than off. Advice: When you board from Palm Beach and you drink a lot of soda buy the cup that is $21 something before you get on the ship which is for unlimited soda the whole trip. Those things run you about $3 a can. Don't do that to yourself. Also grab as many cookies as you can because you will never see them again and they are so good! On the return they make you place your bags out the door at 2 a.m. or you have to carry them off the ship. A lot of people were in PJs getting off the ship. I have a large purse so I put mine in there. Also if you have a birth certificate and not a passport get ready to wait 3 hours to get out of customs and off the ship. It's an hour to get off the ship and 2 hours through customs. If you have your passport you go right to the front. There is no self parking just vallet which is $18 per day. All in all I really enjoyed the trip I would do it again! Read Less

I personally wasn't expecting a lot because we are spoiled from the larger cruise lines that we have traveled in the past but this trip was put together by my sister in-law who has stage 4 cancer and it was on her Bucket List to go on a cruise ship for her first time.. The issue with jumping through the hoops to get the tickets from the supposed 90 min time share deal was so disappointing. We were up front and honest about why we were at Vacation Village .. booked for this ship and that we were not buying. ..4 hours and 53 min later they finally gave up the vouchers. So we get to the cruise terminal, valet parked for 18 bucks a day...was told 14 bucks over the phone.. No big deal. Used Handicap line to check in. The lady that did our check in messed up the tickets 3 times. It took 1 hour and 24 min to check 4 people on the cruise. GET A PASSPORT....it will save you time getting on and off. So..got aboard and went straight for the ice cream!! I remembered the ship when it was at Carnival so getting around for the wife and I was easy. Was kind of sad that the condition of the ship was just not up to par. You can see the wear from the usage it has had for all the years. Got to say though.. All the staff that we had contact with gets a A+++.. Absolutely no complaints...as well as the food.. I thought it was great. They can afford larger cups I think for the cash they get.. The free drinks were limited ..water apple.. orange juice..or something that had the flavor of apple and orange... The Tea wasn't to bad for being pumped in.. Had the typical bar drinks.. They didn't have much in the way of beer choices.. I don't drink lite beer and only like a few mixed .. Over all the ship was clean..just rusting and the wood teak is splintering. They could have more activities for kids. The game room had only 6 or so games. Kids were running pretty wild all over the ship.....which I am not knocking cause my kids had the same fun when they were that age..but I didn't let them just be wild. An now they are both over 18 ... Rooms were clean. only 1 US plug in so take a strip with you if you go on this ..what I call "Taxi Ride" to Freeport. The TV...well..lets just say THEY SUX.. 5 channels only...and old tech TV's.. I wanted to use the HDMi cable from my phone to play some movies but the TV was from the 80's it seemed like. Hard beds. My A/C vent was screwed up. Had to call for someone to fix it and after the 5th time, they showed up. The vent was held in with 2 drywall screws and there was very little air flow. That's because my room was last on the A/C line....but my son'\s room next to us was connected to the Kitchen. He had perfect A/C.. They gave us a fan so that was better Entertainment was great. The Casino was so small though... like only 25 or so slots...TIGHT slots I should say.. even the 1 cent slots were tight. Only saw 1 jackpot of 450 bucks...The table games were great. Good looking lady's dealing. I did find that most of the men dealers...not while they have a game going..seemed aggravated if you ask them how to play the game.. I passed those tables up.. They should give free WiFi.. The computer area they have..I never saw the first person using them.. Wasted space for sure. In Freeport.. Was my first ..and Last time there. There is nothing..even the shore excursions were kinda lame. My kids did 4 wheeling ..we did Grand Lucayan..and friends we met did snorkling ..4 wheelers were crap they said.. Guide was ok..took forever to get from port to destination ..Same with just going to Grand Lucayan Resort...Best part of that portion of out trip was the bus driver.. He was funny... Gave him a 20 dollar tip for the long drive to nowhere.. The market place was just like every Flea Market here in the states but with more colors.. Coming back was pleasant.. Pretty smooth ride for sure. Again entertainment and staff were great. At port this morning....a Zoo.. GET A PASSPORT like I mentioned.. I had mine but the wife and kids had expired so they had to use birth certificates. That Birth Certificate line took 2 hours. Only took 5 min to get the car.. Bottom line.. Old Boat...Old Port of Call.. Old standing in line for getting on and off. Old going through a timeshare speel... No need to ever go back to Freeport....But the main deal was for the sister in-law with her health issues.. We made it through with minimal drama about our stay and made sure he had a smile on her face for that will most likely be the last cruise she will ever be able to take.. I think I will see about a 7 day trip with her on Allure or Oasis.. Love those ships.. Hopefully she will still be with us.. Read Less

BAD AND GOOD SO READ ALL Booked a window handicapped cabin. My Mother is 94 and cant stand. i Have cancer and no feeling on right side of body so room was a necessity. We booked directly through cruise line which gave us "Groupon" price when informed what it was, which is 1/2 the ships. Don't pay more than "Groupon" price. It's always on there. We unpacked and repacked 3 times because we had NO AIR CONDITIONING THE ENTIRE TRIP. Went to guest services at least 6 times. Each room they showed us same problem. No a/c. Finally supervisor shows up. fellow with Russian accent. Was nice the first day. After second day was nasty and told me the problem was The old lady I was travelling with" Nice huh? Workman above rooms pounding all day long on ceiling. Guess rather than take out of service for a day and lose some money decide to let sail anyway. MANAGER WINDS UP GIVING US A SMALL FAN FOR THE ROOM ! FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. Refused to give us compensation/refund. Wanted to move us again to another cabin. Inside, no window, not handicapped equipped. Said "They had A/C/ problems the last 2 voyages before this in different parts of the ship. But in ALL the handicapped rooms" which are located very end Aft. 90 degree Florida heat in a stuffy room with a fan and 2 people who cant even walk to go somewhere to escape the heat. There are no outside walk ways at all. You want air. Have to go to pool area which is surrounded by walls and filthy Plexiglas. Cant even see the ocean. Can be a very long walk too. Big ship. The crew and the food were very good. Dull at night. 7 bars/discos but no one in them. Things placed on calendar to do but when you arrived -no personnel there-no event. Vegas show. was short. Had an emcee who is about as funny as a rubber crutch. You spend 40 minutes listening to him asking people where their from. Casino is tiny. maybe 40 slots. 1 crap table, Roulette etc. Had to be tendered to go to Bimini. Nothing there but tiny beach and 2 stores. BE PREPARED you pay for EVERYTHING. + 18% added on. MANDATORY PREPAID TIPPING. $24.00 day. Cant tip on your own. So no incentive for good service. MANDATORY $18.00 day parking. Better ask before you do something or will wind up on bill. Finally after threatening to sue them for my mothers condition after 3 days they gave me a numbe rto call for customer service. Will call now and update. Couldnt wait to post so no one else falls into same trap. Read Less

memorable and enjoyable place to vacation. It looked like a poor third world country. We refused to even get off the cart and had it take us right back to where we came from. We ended up walking down to the Hilton and having a few drinks at the outdoor bar until we were able to go back to the ship. The food provided in the “cafeteria” was embarrassing. All everyone kept telling me was how much I would love the food and the variety of items offered. Every time we went to the buffet the food looked like it was frozen, processed and reheated. We ate each meal at the outdoor grill where we could watch it be prepared or in the Prime restaurant. To add insult to injury when we finally made it back and were ready to de-board the next day we were told that we had to go back to the service desk as there was a “hold on our release”. I got upstairs to the service desk and was advised that my card was declined for $86 worth of incurred charges, that even included FUEL for the boat… I can’t even begin to understand how you would have the audacity to charge each passenger for fueling the boat but nonetheless I called my card company and was advised that there was a fraud protection hold that was on my card for a suspicious charge. Come to find out it was the drinks at the Hilton bar in Bimini but because it was in another country they took security measures. I advised the charge was authorized and was told the hold would be released in 24 hours. I relayed this to your customer service representative who then stated that I would be held on the boat until the balance was paid. After I explained to him that that was unlawful imprisonment, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was first told there was not one available and when I insisted I was asked to wait. In my HOUR LONG wait for a supervisor I overheard dozens of passengers who had issues with credit card authorizations, one young lady had actually been asked to come the night before because they could not read the imprint on her card, she supplied it again on a new authorization form and THEY LOST IT!!!! Needless to say, after listening to complaint after complaint after complaint about charges I never actually saw a supervisor. The same gentleman kept telling me that “she” was on her way and when I started reiterating that I had a flight to catch he understood the importance of them moving expeditiously. However, I never spoke with a supervisor. I was told to wait for another half hour and then asked to sign a promissory note BY THE SAME GENTLEMAN WHO TOLD ME TO WAIT for the remaining balance (which I could have done from the very beginning when I advised they could run the card again in the morning as they had all the necessary information) After an hour and a half of waiting we were released to get off the boat but immediately heard an announcement that the customs area was full and they were asking people not to de-board until they could get caught up. We waited another 30 minutes before we were allowed to proceed off the boat and spent 2 hours in the customs area. Not only did I miss my flight but I missed a second flight home and we were not able to leave Florida until 8pm that evening (from a 10:40am flight). I spent my entire birthday sitting in customs and then sitting in an airport. My fiancée made dinner plans for the family that evening as my flight would have put me home at 2pm and the guest of honor was unable to attend as she was stranded in Florida, though we had family travel from out of state to celebrate with me. I have never been more disgusted with a company in my entire life. The professionalism, the un-organization, the blatant disregard for your passengers time, when offering such a poor experience is mind blowing. Read Less

I did a lot of research before I purchased this cruise. I got a 'deal' through groupon, $269 for two people. When I called to book the cruise, I had to pay $65 per person for port fees. We arrived at 130pm, only way to park your car is valet, $18/ night, and only cash. There were about 300 people as we entered, no clear direction as to what was going on, we had to fill out paperwork for our on board credit account. We waiting about 2 hours in a line to get the room keys, and our info inputted ( which I had already done when I booked the cruise) . After this process we headed on board. The cruise ship is an old Carnival ship, VERY clean and polite staff ( this was the highlight) . They had a variety of entertainment that was suitable, nothing over the top. An adult comedy show was $12/ person, and wasn't that great. Check your weather as we had terrible motion sickness. We chose to venture out on our own once we arrived in Freeport. They loaded up 10 people per taxi for a 15 minute ride ( $10 round trip / person ) here you got to see the hurricane damage and a 'shopping center' with each store selling the same expensive stuff. $20 for a DORA shirt that said bahamas. AWFUL!! Honestly I would've just purchased souvenirs at the freeport port as you exit the boat and then spent the day on the now quiet boat. The excursions were expensive $100+ and I heard they weren't the best. A lot of people did they 2/4 night stay at a resort in the bahamas and apparently that was awesome. We had two twin beds pushed together to make a makeshift bed, it was awful and didnt lock even after asking housekeeping. Alcohol is very expensive, cheapest bottle is $100 of absolut, and soda you pay $20+ for unlimited . I would recommend getting drinks individually ( they had 50% off drinks during the entertainment, so wait for that) the drink package was $70 and was 10 8oz drinks, not worth it. $12 for a cocktail. Food was okay, set up was great, but certain things didnt taste right. we were sick and left the Stellar restaurant but the food looked amazing , also, there are two restaurants that are an additional charge, The Bull and Admiral club. You need your room key to get towels, and if you dont return them at the given time you are charged $20 per towel, same with room towels, if housekeeping comes by and you have taken a towel you get charged. Overall, we spent over $600 and this is without the excursions, definitely a waste for two mediocre days. DONT get this cruise, rather go to the Keys in a 5 star hotel. Read Less

I spoke with the supervisor who was supposed to email the ship so they can install a bench in our room so my mother can shower but was never done also it was my dad's birthday and was supposed to receive a cake for him. Cut to a day before the cruise because they sent me a confirmation with something different on it so I called again. I was told I was not getting a handicap room anymore and there was nothing they can do because the cruise was booked. So I called again on the day of the cruise explaining the situation and was told by Maria, the customer service supervisor, that this situation wasn't bad and I was ruining my own vacation and I was making this up but I had to endure this because I would lose my $1600 I paid. SO.. I went. When I got to the ship I endured the inside cabin which was not what I wanted and had to have my family suffer because this cruise line was insensitive to the handicap. When we got to the island, I was told by the TAXI DRIVER that the hotel closed down last October (which would have been nice if the cruise line told me). If I had known I wouldn't have booked this in the first place. Got to the hotel, which was not handicap friendly either, which they were supposed to take care of and again had to suffer through it. I work hard for my money and wanted to take my family on a nice vacation but this cruise line ruined it!! I have been trying to get a hold of a supervisor for the last week but they are either on the phone or not in and wont call me back. Whenever I try to get to someone they hang up on me, I write this to warn you DO NOT go on this cruise!!! It is not worth it... Save your money and go elsewhere. Read Less

Given that this cruise goes out of West Palm Beach, it was an easy location to gather and get on the boat. We were travelling with our 95-year old father and they went out of their way to make sure he got a lot of attention. On the other hand, this is a tired party boat. And given that it rained each evening, no activities were taking place on deck. Many folks only go one way and stay a few days on the island - the return night was very quiet (in general). Food was OK - but not spectacular. Attended the "show" one night - pretty poor and walked out about 30 minutes into it. Entertainment in the lounges tended to be loud making it difficult to find quiet places inside to sit a talk. Keep in mind that this ship goes to Freeport Harbor - which is about 15 miles from Freeport - there is nothing to do just outside of the boat except for a few souvenir vendors. There a faster ways to get to the island - but this was pretty cheap for a cruise. Read Less

I want to saw, my hats is off to the employees at Grand Celebration Cruise Ship. Everyone was super nice and very helpful. The food was excellent and their was plenty of it, must have gained 10lbs or more. I have been on other cruises but this one was the best by far. Our room was fresh and clean, their were plenty of activities that kept us busy, one big party. If anyone is planning a cruse the Grand Celebration won't disappoint. Thanks again for the great memories. The price was affordable and we booked the Bahamas stay for 5 days and 2 day Cruise through Royal Seas Cruise Line. Everything was included from 3 nights in Orlando and 5 days in Bahamas and then 3 night in Ft Lauderdale. What a wonderful time we had, well worth the money spent. Again if your looking for a cruise you simply cannot afford to pass up the Grand Celebration Cruise Line. This cruse is for everyone who wants to have a good time. Read Less

We sailed as part of a package deal with a timeshare presentation. We stayed in Freeport for 2 nights, then back on the ship for another night. I have been on 14 cruises prior to this one...the shortest. The ship was formerly operated by Carnival as the Carnival Celebration. It is a 30 year old ship, but it still looks pretty good. I would say not quite as good as other cruises, but as a smaller ship, it feels less crowded and more relaxed than other cruises. Embarkation was fairly simple, and debarkation, although fairly easy, came with one glitch. We decided to self debark by taking all of our luggage with us. While we had a time frame for this, the ship did not announce when the ship was cleared and we could leave. By the time we got off the ship, there were 400 passengers in line to clear Bahamian customs. Fortunately, we bypassed that line because my wife is handicapped. Recommend self debarkation, but don't expect an announcement that the ship is cleared. Some people diss cruises, but personally, I've never had a bad one. Just go on this simple 2 night cruise, and just enjoy it! It is what you make it. I would go again. The only two things that took away from the experience: 1) The cruise line charged us $9 a day for a fuel surcharge. Not sure on what this is based, as worldwide oil prices have been very moderate, and 2) valet parking the port (not fault of the cruise line) was $18 a night. So this raked up a bill of $72 just for the 4 nights we were gone. Not many other options. You can self park, but not recommended. Read Less

I want to go back next year. My wife and I were an ocenview room. the theater show was phenomenal, tremendous dancers. Live music for all tastes willing to please you. I really want to go back next year. I took the excursion to Grand Lucaya. its a Beautiful place. Exceptional The saxophone show in the encore salon. the Game for couples stole laughter from everyone present. If you love to play, the casino is very well suited. Yellow Elder restaurant has excellent entrees included in the price and likewise additional dishes at a moderate price. the cleanliness is spectacular. the staff is concerned about constantly keeping everything clean and very organized. The area for jogging is excellent. I recommend this cruise 100%! ! ! Read Less

Took this cruise as part of a cheap package that included hotels stays from a travel agent that also included a timeshare tour for a low price. The only parking at this port is valet parking for $19 per day. It was handled well, but that is your only choice as no other parking appeared to be in the area. We arrived at the port around 1 PM and embarkation was pretty fast as it seemed that most people arrived at the 12 hour when the ship started boarding. We had an accessible cabin 6116 because I had to take a mobility scooter. The cabin layout was different. It was a wide door that opened out in to the main hallway where normal cabins opened inwards to the cabins. The room was narrow with a path leading to the toilet and shower in the back of the cabin which turned out to be wider than the cabin area itself. The bathroom area had ample room for the facilities and provided plenty of room to turn the scooter around and use the path to the cabin door without having to back up out of the cabin. The cabin area had a desk and closet to one side of the path and the two beds against the wall on the other side of the path. All acceptable cabins will be interior and this cabin (6116) only had one 220V European plug which kind of makes it hard to charge a mobility scooter ion the cabin and no other plugs in the interior cabin. However after inquiring with guest services to have something work for me, they did provide an adapter and power supply that was 115V to charge the scooter and provided a USB plug for charging electronics. From what I understand all cabins only have one plug and the regular rooms have 115V outlets but I did not see that first hand for myself. It is an older ship and it was pretty well maintained with cleaning and painting. The ship was easy to navigate between areas and there were 8 working elevators. The elevator limit was rated for twelve people, but I doubt that you can get more than six or seven people in them at one time comfortably. The ship was decorated for Christmas. The band during this cruise was very good and the main theater had a very good show during both of our nights. Both nights also included a family comedy section as well as the main show. We opted not to see the adult comedy show because it was a $9 charge. The main dining room was clean and the service was very good. The complimentary menu choices are a limited, but tasted good. You get an appetizer, main course and a desert. We had the braised beef rib the first night and the sirloin flat steak the second night. There is no assigned seating and when the door opened at 6PM everyone in line entered at the same time. The staff lead you through the dining room and you were seated as a family or party of how many and given the option of a table with others so you can make new acquaintances. The buffet area is smaller than most ships but had plenty of seating. The food areas appeared to be clean and the food was good. Hot food table, fruit and salad area, and a desert and beverage area. The only major complaint with the food and beverages was the water. It had a strange after taste as if they added something to it or the distillers need to be replaced. It was just not good tasting. The easiest way around it was to get the lemonade or ice tea and shove some food in your mouth after taking a gulp. The buffet was open for breakfast, lunch, diner, and a midnight snack. Typical breakfast was eggs, bacon, toast, corned beef hash, cereals and fruits. Lunch and diner included a carving station, meats, cheeses, sides, salad bar, and deserts. Midnight buffet was tacos and gyros. There was a poolside BBQ on Sunday before we left the Bahamas. The service was good and the staff were all friendly. The activities staff always seem to have something planned around the ship and they definitely try to be in character to make things fun with costumes and off the wall wearing of items such as a one peace pajama or some wild tug along toy and even a guy dressed as a panda with a tutu during the sail away party at the pool. They played a few cash game bingo sessions and even had poolside karaoke at night. And also had a beanbag toss competition for two top prizes to get $25 and $50 dollars removed from your on board account I had seen many reviews about extra fees of room cleaning or making you try and make an up scale purchase and I had my reservations about that as well. When we boarded the ship they had have areas to get you to upgrade meals and get bar drink packages, but we were able to go by those without a hassle. We did not see a room cleaning fee as others have posted, but the do have a set gratuity of $13.95 per person, per day. That is not much different than any other cruise line I have traveled with. We did have two other additional charges that I am not used to seeing from past cruise lines I have sailed with. The first being a cruise terminal fee of $1 per person, and the second being a Fuel Surcharge of $18 per person. Most cruise lines say the fuel surcharge is possible but this is the first time I have ever been accessed that fee which is a turnoff to me. It is not like there was any big fuel shortage at a massive price increase. During this sailing the price of fuels has even dropped compared to recent months. It's almost like saying that they don't think the fuel should be part of the operating cost and they just want to get more money from you. If I didn't have to pay that fuel charge without knowing it ahead of time I may have rated this cruise 5 stars. But it wasn't till we closed out our account that we were notified about it on the billing statement. Everything is per person instead of per cabin and for two people that's an extra $36 you didn't expect. We did not do any shore excursions The main section of the port was closed on Sunday being that no other ships were in port. We only went to the pier to pick up a few t-shirts from the limited local vendors that were open. Disembarking was just as easy as embarking on the cruise with the exception of the line for customs. That seemed to go a bit slow and the line tended to get long from it in the terminal. As far as leaving the ship it was pretty fast getting off the ship , just the terminal wait was lagging in movement. Once outside the terminal they had plenty of people getting the vehicles up to the curb for you to load up and leave the port. Read Less

I went on the Grand Celebration Jan 16-18, with my wife, 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, and we all had a good time. The weather was fine, the staff very helpful and amenities, food, etc., were sufficient to make it an enjoyable time, echoed by other passengers we met. True, the ship is oldish, but it was very clean, had sufficient elevators and its age wasn’t a real factor. Personally, I was in a wheelchair and the staff were always offering assistance, including getting on and off the ship, which was handled very efficiently.. My only disappointment was the lack of disabled restrooms on the other decks. The only disabled restroom I found was on Deck 5 which was the same deck as my cabin so I went to my cabin each time. The entertainment was ok. The crew provided plenty of entertainment poolside during the day but I could have done without the late night karaoke. We all went to see one of the shows - a comedian who had some good original jokes. His material was very adult though, with a lot of cursing that could have been cut out. We all like to gamble on cruises but didn't spend a lot of time in their casino. It was clean, smoke-free but not very busy. There wasn't a Texas Holdem table, which was disappointing, only the 3-card game. The slots played pretty much as well as other cruises. We didn't go on any prearranged excursions. Instead we too a taxi to Port Lucaya marketplace. The driver was very helpful, waiting for us while we shopped (or window-shopped) before taking us back to the ship. He also gave a pretty good commentary about the Bahamas as he drove. The marketplace was a typical tourist place, selling lots of local souvenirs and providing a variety of restaurants. Unfortunately the nearby hotel/casino, we had been to before, was closed because of hurricane damage. The food on board had sufficient variety and was available throughout the day. The dinners were good, though the entree choices were limited, and there were no complaints from any of us. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. Overall we all had a good time and are looking forward to our next cruise on one of their ships. Read Less
