The ship was nice, but it is made for seniors. I am an active senior but I spent most of my time in the room. I paid for 3 excursions and got to do none of them. In all, I lost over $1000 on excursions. They are not worth it. Just shop in the city near the ship. When reporting the excursions, the manager insinuated that we were stupid and should have known and if we didn't, it showed that we had ...
The cruise staff was very very nice. That's the only positive thing. The cruise was attended by emptying 3 or 4 retirement old folk home. Maybe, 10 people under 70 and there were many people were on walkers and wheelchairs. In addition, the very few activities were canceled when a gastro infection was taking people down. No daily lively entertainment. This cruise is for recovering from a ...
Oceania Sirena - Miami to Panama City - March 7-17 2024
This was my third cruise with Oceania. The first was the Eastern Mediterranean in 2009, the second was Northern Europe in 2012. I really enjoyed those two cruises; this one, not so much. Based on my experiences on this cruise, it's unlikely I will take a 4th cruise with Oceania.
Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I did ...
We are long time Oceania customers (7 cruises) but had to cancel our last two cruises because of COVID and health issues. Therefore we were looking forward to our back to back cruises with a line that had always met or exceeded our expectations.
Things got off on the wrong foot when the company changed their business style. They went to Simply More. Before we were given onboard credit to be ...
This cruise left out of Miami and ended 10 hellish days later in Panama City. We started out with rough seas by the second day, not Oceanias fault, so we missed our first stop. We had already been notified that our Columbia stop had been canceled. The. Cruise line never offered any compensation for these two cancelations. Then around day four we noticed that their sanitation procedures were ...
After some time in Panama City and a slow trip back home, our bags are unpacked and I am now provide this very subjective, but hopefully balance, review. Overall, we had an excellent cruise with good to excellent food and service. By way of background, we have only sailed on Oceania and this was our 6th cruise with them.
Embarkation
We had registered for a 12:30 boarding time but found ...
The Sirena is one of 4 small ships owned by the upmarket Oceania Cruises. The selling features are its small size, under 700 passengers, no crowds, lines, and children.
The officers, staff and crew could not have been nicer.
I was impressed by Carson Turner, a super - talented cruise director… a really affable guy who is also a talented singer and performer. Actually, the entire ...
My wife and I just finished a 25 day cruise to the Amazon River in Brazil on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner. We are in our mid 60s and have cruised over 30 times mostly on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. This was our first “luxury cruise”. The itinerary was round trip Miami with many stops in the Caribbean and 3 days up the Amazon River to Manaus, Brazil. Everything was included in the fare – ...
We had been on Regent Seven Seas Navigator before and had a great cruise. Everything was perfect, so when this cruise came up from Miami to Miami on Mariner into the Amazon, we booked the trip and looked so much forward to go. But already the first evening there was problems to go into the restaurant. They didn't have enough seat for people and we had to wait, for quite some time. It happened more ...
4 1/2 stars. We were a couple with a B2 balcony on the E Caribbean cruise and had sailed on sister ship Regatta in Fr Polynesia roughly a year earlier (recommended). I think the 'overview' description of both ships as being smaller and therefore 'quieter' with fewer activities is really useful for first-timers to understand. It's true that the passenger profile skews older but we met (and met ...
