We had the best time with the music entertainment Rubber Duck and Hot Brass. They were amazing! Kelli and Matthew front singers were awesome. We got to know them a bit more personally as we followed them to all of their performances. I will most definitely try to follow them to the location of their next contract!! YES that is how good they are!! Both beach stays were awesome. Cabbage beach is our favorite in Nassau. Princess cays was beautiful and fun to swim and snorkel. We rented chairs at cabbage beach. We are both professional chefs so food was important but we feel that the quality could use some work and giving a couple of more simpler dishes and also make portions are slightly larger. Drinks were great and late at night when hungry couldn’t find much to eat. There is pizza but it takes forever to get it. What happened to the ‘midnight buffet’????? Read Less

We just got back from a 5-day cruise to the Bahamas on the Norwegian Sky as part of a girl’s weekend. This was my first time on Norwegian. I have cruised 2x before with Royal Caribbean and was excited to see how this cruise line compared. Sorry this is long but I know when I am looking at reviews, I like to see some details not just yeah it was fun! The Ship: First this is a small ship compared to what I was on before. Pretty basic type of ship no real frills. 2 pools on the main pool deck with hot tubs and a tiny pool at the front of the ship tucked away. Maybe I missed it, but I like to find little quiet spots on the cruise away from the hustle and bustle of people to enjoy a drink, read my book, stare at the water and sit in the shade (I am a very pale skin the sun loves to burn). I did not find that on this cruise but again that is my own personal preference. As in any cruise the beach chairs are quickly snagged up in the morning so if you are sun person be prepared to live there. The Stateroom (9th floor balcony): We were a party of 3 girls sharing a balcony room. A big complaint of mine was the balcony door was not a sliding door but a single paned door with a big port window. Again, my own preference but I like to watch the water from inside the room which I could only see a portion of the sea. My biggest complaint of all - DO NOT PUT 3 ADULTS IN THIS TINY ROOM. This room is by far the smallest cabins I have been in. 2 people would bump into each other in this smaller than normal cabin. The pullout couch literally when pulled out blocked the access to the balcony and butted up against the only table in the room. You could not access the balcony without stepping on the 3rd person. As it was, I fell off of the corner of the pullout bed trying to maneuver over it and got a nice bruise to show for the entire cruise. Suitcases were a nightmare as there was no place to put them as the closet only had 3 small drawers for clothes. The shelves at the top of the closet was reserved for the flotation devices. I originally put my suitcase under the bed but once that couch is pulled out you can not access that suitcase and with no other drawers or shelving, I had no choose but to live out of my suitcase. For 3 women this was strategically not ideal for getting dressed or pulling out clothes. The regular beds were a little firm but fairly comfortable. The pull out couch my friend said was fairly comfortable except for the bar would dig into her body. May want to think about adding another thicker blanket for that. Pillows were soft so your head sank. We saw our steward (while extremely polite and nice) whenever he wanted to turn down the room but that was it. He did give us a requested third chair for the balcony. But we had glasses left on the bathroom sink that wasn’t touched for 2 days. On the 3rd day our water went out and it took them awhile to get it fixed and then it was a trickle, again for 3 women no water is a major issue! It was fixed by the next morning. A suggestion for the room maybe they could add some kind of shelving and/or hooks in the room to make up for the lack of drawer space. The Food: The food was hit or miss and dependent on the person. To me food is subjective so it’s hard to review. We ate at Cagney’s the specialty Steakhouse and while my companions enjoyed it, I thought it was basic and not worth the extra $ except that the staff did go out of their way to make you feel special. My friends had the drink package, I did not but I am not a huge drinker. Drinks ranged in price but average that I ordered seemed to be about $11. And FYI save yourself a trip to Guest Services - Miami has an alcohol tax which we weren't expecting. Also, one nice thing that they had over Royal Caribbean was the anytime dining. I loved not having to make reservations at the main dining hall just walk in (you do need reservations for the specialty restaurants though). Excursions and Great Stirrup Cay: A huge problem I had was their tender system to get to Great Stirrup Cay. There really isn't too much communication and what is written in your daily planner is confusing. If you have a pre bought excursion you don’t need to pick up a tender ticket. But they do not tell you where to go. Unless it was in the announcement over the loud speaker which you do not hear in your cabin. It is very garbled sounding and that’s if you hear it at all. But their tender system was ridiculous! We had a prebought excursion luckily the time for later in the day (which FYI they have the right to change the time so look at your tickets when you get them because ours was a different time then our itinerary said). They directed us to go down to deck 3 and there we found just people standing everywhere in the staircase corridor and we were directed to the "back of the line" which was the entire length of the crew’s hallway. Nowhere to go at the end because it was cut off by a door to a crew only area. Not only was this a fire hazard they kept directing people down there so you had 2 lines in a narrow hallway! The most ridiculous thing I have ever encountered. Not what I want to do on my vacay was stand in line in a narrow hallway! But they did warn in the planner to expect 45 mins to get to the island I just wasn’t prepared to be lined up in a tiny hallway 2 people deep. They need a better system for this!!!! Once on the island you can eat, go to the sectioned off beach which is crowded to the hilt with people or find your excursion. We did the swim with Pigs and it wasn't quite what I understood it to be. And this is not a knock on the hardworking men that handle the excursion. They were very knowledgeable and explained that the area was under construction so maybe in the future this would be a worthwhile excursion but right now I felt it was a waste of $109. It is more like you take a boat ride to a little island and in a small section you can go and feed a variety of pigs. Some baby pigs but a bunch of way bigger pigs and one up to 500 lb pigs in the water. And it is not really swimming more like petting and feeding in the water where they proceed to poop because they eat a lot of apples (hey they are animals after all). So not my type of excursion as I didn’t want to wade into water with floating poop (and yes, they do scoop up the floating poop fairly quickly). But yes, the baby pigs are cute to look at. Just my opinion, but maybe some sinks/shower to wash up in or some hand sanitizer stations would be nice. On the way back to the tender boat we had to wait in about an hour line to go back to the ship. So, budget your time wisely. They do hand out water and cool washcloths while you wait. The next day we got out at the Port at Nassau. That process was smooth and efficient and we were off the ship within minutes. So, ports process easy Tendering never again! Unfortunately, Nassau I realize I just don't enjoy because the locals hawk you for everything and are nonstop harassing you the entire way around the port. Unfortunately for our day a cold front moved in and it poured as we got into the city so we hunkered down at Senor Frogs and spent the day there. We didn’t get to enjoy the beach but you can't control the weather. But if you do go to Senor Frogs make sure someone is in charge getting you back to the ship on time. I could totally see getting lost in time in that place! Another unfortunate part of the cold front was the seas were angry that night which did not make for a fun night for our seasick friends. TV and Guest Services: Not something I normally critique because I am usually not in the room much but with the angry seas, I found myself in the room a little more than usual. They have about 5 channels that are about the ship but no real information is on there more informercial style just trying to sell you more cruises or show you the one entertainment item that they recorded from the first night! I just want to know about the ship that I am currently on! Although they did have 4 channels of movies and pretty new movies playing on a loop. Another thing I was surprised was that the only way to look and monitor your bill was to go to Guest Services. I liked Royal Caribbean you can see it right on your screen. No wasted time standing in a line wasting your valuable vacation time! I spent about 45mins waiting for my itemized bill and I spotted an error from the Spa and had to go to the back of the line and wait again! A tip book any spas or specialty restaurants first day but watch your bill. They charged me when I booked the spa and then again when I actually had my appointment. Ship Activities: Again, I hate to compare one cruise line to another but the onboard activities were I guess to me a little boring. The night life is a little sad. They had no real shows on ship just some things like Lip Sync battle, Battle of the Sexes and a version of Name that Tune. Cute but again more a passing of time because there was nothing else to do kind of thing. Unfortunately, some of the crew women seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else then being subjected to another Lip-sync and their faces showed it. The last night was a comedian/magician and a heavily attended Not So Newlyweds game. Which they held in a lounge where chairs were a premium so go early. They do have a decent sized theatre but not much is held in there except the Welcome Show and the Magician or at least they I know of. Disembarkation: This was actually very smooth as we opted to take our bags ourselves and we were quickly on our way to our already booked shuttle to the airport. This was very organized and the smoothest I have seen. Synopsis after this long review: All in all, we made the best of an ok cruise. As the Social Director said, this is what you make of it. Was this my favorite cruise line NO was it a fun trip YES because we made a ton of new memories. This was my first Norwegian cruise and I don’t know if I will go on another one of theirs? My friend who has been on another Norwegian said this experience combined with her last one, she will not choose this cruise line again. The ship may be refurbished but it is an older, smaller ship and you may want to take that into account before you go. Read Less

This was my first time ever on a cruise and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. I’ll start by saying the staff on the sun were absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. Not only did the staff do an amazing job, but they made us feel at home and went beyond their job titles to make everyone feel welcome and special. Our room was amazing and extremely clean everyday. Very thankful for our housekeeper. We ate dinner every night at the Seven Seas and it was absolutely amazing. The menu was amazing and there were endless possibilities for dinner. We celebrated two birthdays on board and they were amazing thanks to everyone who took part in the experience. All of the staff in each lounge were very helpful and made sure we had the best experiences possible. Jamie the cruise director was amazing at her job and coordinated a great trip with so many great things to do on board. Definitely enjoyed everyday out on the islands. Everything was great from getting off the boat to the beech and even back on board . The private island exceeded my expectations with the cleanliness and fun atmosphere. Also very thankful for Irma and her advice on how to shop in Nassau. With her help we were able to find many great gifts to bring back home and enjoy. I took part in the stingray city excursion on November 8th and it was by far the most fun I’ve ever had. Our guide Miguel was super nice and made sure to make our experience far more than just taking photos with the rays. I would highly recommend traveling with Norwegian Cruise Line to anyone looking for a get away. I most definitely will be looking back into traveling with Norwegian again in the future. Thank you so much for the great staff and the unforgettable memories made! Read Less

Never met our cabin steward which may be the first time ever. Pool bar service excellent. Plenty of staff. Other bars were lacking in service. Bamboo room terrible. Pub terrible. Dining room food not very good. Service was ok. Windjammer food not very good. Service good. Hot dogs on deck were good. Room service was good. Coco Cay very nice with very good service. Plenty of food options. I liked the morning drink station in Windjammer where they had blood mary, mimosas, and other drinks available. Guest services counter was very helpful and well staffed. The amount of staff was a common theme throughout except for a few of the bars at night where staff was light. Nice ship overall with plenty of staff. Read Less

We are a late 30s couple and have just returned from the 4 night Halloween sailing. We have only sailed Celebrity ships but had an idea of the Carnival atmosphere, so we weren't overly surprised with the differences. We tried our best to go into the vacation with an open mind and were determined to make the best of any situation. Embarkment was quick and easy. We arrived around 11 and walked right on the ship. The sea cards were in the cabins but we could order drinks right away with our printed boarding passes. We had a mid-balcony cabin on the 8th deck. Service was okay. No turndown service. Steward was very nice. The rooms could use a good deep clean. Lots of dust. Otherwise, it was pretty comparable to a room on any older ship. Towel animals were a nice touch. The buffet was above us so I expected it to be loud, but other than a couple instances of chairs moving around, it wasn't bad. On the first port day, I was going to go out on the balcony and there was a huge pile of balcony chairs and tables sitting there from other balconies. So odd. Apparently, they had to do maintence but didn't tell us? The next day, we were woken up to banging around on our balcony. I open the curtain and there was a room steward. They should take care of the balconies as they clean the room. Good thing our blinds were closed. Very strange, indeed. The balcony window was super gross. My husband mentioned that someone kept spitting from a deck above and it was landing on the window. Not the fault of the staff but a quick clean would have been appreciated. The food was hit or miss. We did have a great experience with the staff in the Silver at the 8:15 timeslot. All 3 of our servers were great. We danced with them during their little show, which was fun and definitely not something you would find on Celebrity. Try the lava cake. Yum. Avoid the fried chicken (was it chicken? Lol). We liked the thin crust pizza a lot. We had the Cheers package. Warning: they will cut you off after 15 drinks, even if you want to pay for more. Not a deal for me but may be for some. It was next to impossible to get a large bottle of water, unless, of course, you pay. My husband tried to order two small bottles of water at the same time and was denied. So strange. I also found it super weird that you had to sign for every drink, even under the package. We had to pay 18% gratuity (paid at the time of package purchase) on top of the already pricey package but since you had to sign for each drink, we felt pressured to tip more, otherwise the staff seemed disappointed. The Halloween costume and "scary" chest contests were both a riot. The cruise director, Donkey, was awesome. They had a special 12am screening of "It" on the lindo deck outside. Pretty neat atmosphere to watch a scary movie. On Halloween night around 9:30, they started taking all the Halloween decor down. This was before the party even started. Another "Huh? Okay.." moment. We liked the casino, with the exception of the smoke. It's 2019, let's get with the times. Felt bad for the staff having to deal with that all the time. Lots of interesting smells, which seems to be a common complaint. From sewage, to smoke, to weed, you never know what you'll get! We laughed it off. Layout of the ship was weird. The MDR and galley were in the middle of the ship, so you often had to go up to the 5th floor to get all the way across, which happened to be the casino floor. Coincidence? Hmm.. Debarkation was a disaster. We wanted to walk our bags off for "early" checkout so we were up and ready at 7am. They didn't call our floor until around 9:30. We were told that we could stay in the room until 8:30am. I'd recommend leaving earlier unless you want your steward to knock on the door every 5 minutes and other staff to be banging around on that balcony (again, what is with that balcony??). While we did have a fun time and liked the upbeat, change of pace from Celebrity, we likely won't be sailing with Carnival any time in the near future. Read Less

We traveled in a group of 4 on the Carnival Liberty back-to-back cruise. Doing both the 3-day overnight Nassau itinerary and the 4 day Nassau and Princess Cay itinerary. The Carnival Liberty is not the newest ship in the fleet but is very well kept and has many of the Carnival signature bars. The Liberty makes a great getaway cruise and seems to be affordably prices compared to some of the other 3 and 4 day cruises. Embarktion/Debarktion: The Liberty sails of out Port Canaveral where in my experience has always been very organized compared to some other ports. We had a suite (more to come) but decided to board with our friends in a general zone. We arrived as soon as the port opened and did not wait more than 30 mins to get on the ship. Boarding started at 1100 and was a fast process. Debarktion was the same as every Carnival cruise. We chose to do the self-assist option where you are called by floor to disembark. We were on deck 7 and was not called until the lower decks were off the ship. We were required to be out of the cabin by 830 and our deck was called at 815 to disembark. When speaking to one of the workers they said the ship is usually at zero count (everyone is off) by 930. Again, a fast and well-organized process. Staff service: I have sailed on over 15 Carnival cruises and the staff on the Liberty by far has been the best I have ever had! We frequented the Alchemy bar and the bar staff was always excited to see us and knew what we wanted to drink before ordering it. If we were running late, they made sure to check in with us to ensure everything was ok. The dining room host and wait staff knew our party and when to expect us at dinner every night. One night we chose to do the Chef’s Table (more to come). The host went out of her way to check in on us during the experience knowing we was not going to be at dinner that night. When walking around the ship many of the staff would stop and talk with us and would go out of their way to make us comfortable. Public Areas: To be an older ship it is well maintained. The Liberty has many of the same public areas as the bigger Carnival ships. The Casino was always a busy area and one of the only smoking areas aside from the night club. On some of the ships smoke can be smelled on the entire casino deck. This is not the case with the Liberty. They do a great job isolating the smoke to the casino area. The lobby and casino had live music nightly including steel drum players. The Liberty has 2 pools but does not have an adult only pool. The pool at the aft of the ship seemed to be more laid back and less children throughout the cruise. The aft pool also has a retractable roof that covers the pool at night. When in the warmer climate it can get very warm when the roof is not open. Chefs Table: The Chefs table is a great experience if you are seeking to do something special. Be prepared it is limited space and should be booked prior to your sailing. It is also A LOT of food. The menu consists of almost 13 FULLSIZE courses. The chef meets us in the lobby bar. There was a group of 8. They take a complimentary chef table group photo that they give the guests at the end of the dinner. You then get a tour of the galley during busy dinner time and they talk about the amount of food they serve and how it is prepared. A pastry chef gives a demonstration on how to make the signature melting cake along with a recipe. Following the tour, you are taken into a private dining room and each course is served with wine pairing and description of the food. The chef did say the Chef Table is the same on every ship. The best advice would be to eat a small breakfast and skip lunch before the Chef Table. Read Less

This was my first cruise with Norwegian. Six friends and myself treated ourselves with no kids and no husbands. For the most part our cruise was absolutely AWESOME!!!! The majority of the crew was great, the food was great and the port calls were great. We had the best steward EVER!! Our room was 0264 and he was friendly and accommodating. Every steward on our floor was AMAZING! We weren’t thrilled with the backed up shower that we called about every day that never got fixed, the crew members that were unfriendly and not having a beach day (Great Stirrup Cay). It wasn’t bad enough for me not to return though. This was my friend that planned this getaways 7th sail with Norwegian. She said she had never experienced such unhappy crew before. Again, I still had a great time but a few improvements are in need. We’re going to have a “girls trip” once a year and are already planning the next one in September 2020! Read Less

Our door would not stay locked, it kept popping open. Thus, the reason Our shoes was stolen out of our room. The wind star dinning was less than fabulous. The one night water poured out everywhere! We was eating dinner and had vacuums sucking the water up. The Buffett was also disappointing! And none of the good was offered long enough. Some of the activities was fun but overall it was a disappointing. The pools are not what they advertised. The hot tubs was not even warm! My friend got bit by a spider and had to pay $125 for medical to give her ibuprofen and hydrocortisone cream! Do not go to the public beaches in Nassau. They are gross and rather sketchy. WiFi service was expensive and did not work all the time. Oh and the ship itself was late getting to port. They did nothing to make this right! We had to find something to do for hours all while dragging our luggage everywhere. Read Less

Embarkation - easy and quick. The cost of parking at Port Canaveral has gone up significantly - now $85 Monday to Friday. Food - distinctly average in the MDR on my time dining. Dinner took 2 hours every night. 30 minute wait before ordering. We were a large party but it just took too long. Food was average to good but absolutely none of it was hot. It also took ages to get drinks and we rarely got the drink we had ordered. Breakfast buffet in the MDR was freezing cold. A la Carte breakfast in MDR was good. Windjammer - breakfast was the worst I’ve ever seen - cold, sloppy and disgusting, we went once then ate in the Diamond club. No choice, all cold and poor quality. Lunch was good and we went once for dinner, which was also good. Cafe promenade - we went for pizza after dinner and had to wait for 20 minutes as there was no pizza available. When the pizza was finally cooked and served, it became the only free hot meal I enjoyed throughout the cruise. There was always a queue for pizza every time we walked past, sometimes snaking down the promenade and the service was very slow. Izumi - we went for Teppanyaki for lunch. Was expensive at $40 each but fantastic experience and fabulous food - we all had the premium options so enjoyed beef tenderloin, scallops and lobster. Our chef, Jeffrey, was very entertaining and we enjoyed the experience very much. I also enjoyed some fabulous sake cocktails on the drinks package which were different and supplemented the experience. If you have not experienced Teppanyaki before, I would highly recommend trying this. Lunch is $10 cheaper than dinner and you get exactly the same food and experience. We also had just two other ladies at our Teppan so it was an almost private experience at lunchtime. Drinks - I had the deluxe package which was pre-booked before the cruise. I also had the benefit of Diamond drinks in the evening but I like cocktails and different wines to those on offer. Individually priced drinks are absolutely extortionate - $12-$15 plus an 18% gratuity is just ridiculous. If you like to drink, even if it is just a few cocktails/glasses of wine per day, the cost means you may as well go all out and get the deluxe package. Cococay - this was our first visit to the “new” island; we had been a number of times to the original island. RCL has done a great job, we had a wonderful day. The upgraded food and drink offerings were fab and we enjoyed both the sea and the huge free pool. Unless you want to go on the big water slides, there is absolutely no need to pay anything extra at Cococay; there is an abundance of seating (based on one ship being docked rather than two) and plenty of activities. Floating mats cost $18 each - we took our own inflatables to float in th sea instead. Nassau - this being my 14th visit to Nassau, I have pretty much run out of things to do here. We went to Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island and took the water taxi, which was a big mistake. We had to walk for 30 minutes from the water taxi drop off to get to the public beach access. Regular taxis were charging the same price ($4 per person) and dropped off right outside the beach access route. If you’re going to the beach, take a regular taxi. We paid $40 for 3 chairs and an umbrella. The beach was lovely but the sea was very rough. It is a public beach so it was busy, people were playing music and smoking, and hawkers pestered us literally every 2 minutes we were there. We still had a great time but if you want a private and peaceful beach experience, avoid Cabbage Beach. Around the ship - there was nowhere quiet on this ship. Everywhere we went was incredibly loud. This was my 3rd sailing on Mariner and first after her refurbishment. She is a beautiful ship; it’s a shame she has been put on this party itinerary. Cabin 7579 promenade view - clean enough but very tight to get past the beds into the cabin, luggage had to go over the bed. It was nice to look into the promenade. There was a service station a few doors down where crew took what looked to be used crockery/glasses from room service. Until around midnight each night there was clattering and clunking from plates, glasses and cutlery - very noisy but not from the promenade. Adventure Ocean - my 3 year old niece had a great time at Aquanauts and couldn’t wait to go back each day. This is a party cruise and very much like a floating holiday camp - the quality of food and service is not up to RCL’s usual standards. We still had a good time but won’t be taking this cruise again. The only good thing about the cruise was the group I went with. Pool bartenders and servers were great. But the rest of the service was ok. Some servers were rude others were nice. Not accommodating for larger groups. Gave us a day at sea instead of the private island due to hurricane damage without adding any additional entertainment for us on the ship. Pools were small. Not much to do on the pool deck besides the pool and jacuzzi. Hidden fees that were not explained during checkout. Was supposed to be a party ship but it was more couples and families. Boarding the Norwegian Sky felt like I was visiting a prison. Everyone was very serious and not friendly. It took away the excitement you feel when going on vacation. Hospitality and customer service is what vacation hosting is all about. Norwegian fell very flat in this arena. The food could not be worse. This was my first Norwegian cruise and I will sail Carnival any day over going back to Norwegian. The food seemed old and reheated. Very poor quality. Specialty dining was over priced and terrible at Cagney's. Le Bistro was the only exception. The food was EXCELLENT and the staff was beyond AMAZING. Although the Norwegian Sky is extremely old and dated, the ship was fairly clean, which is important to us. However, the cabin was so small. Our toilet overflowed and wet our carpet. Our room steward got us a carpet blower and cleaned it all up. But we felt someone could have come and apologized about the whole ordeal and perhaps offered to move us to another room, as the smell was terrible for our last night. I do not recommend this cruise line or this ship. Happy cruising to all on another cruise line!! Read Less

This was my first cruise and I had heard that the Norwegian Cruise Line was a better cruise experience. Well I was a little disappointed. The food variety was not that good. The best part of the cruise for me was meeting people from all over the world. The embankments stops. I understand the devastation that happened in the Bahamas but we should had another day in Cozumel or Key West, instead of just floating at sea. The rocking of the boat was uneasy to enjoy walking around the ship. Now the worst part of the cruise was the smoking in the casino part of the ship. They need those smokeless ashtrays. My door decoration was missing when we returned from the Birthday dinner. That was a memorable piece from this cruise, which was my first cruise. The drinks were great and well made. I was aboard the Norwegian Sun for a work trip my company paid for. This was intended to be a treat for our team, but ended up being anything but. If anything, we've bonded over our mutual hate for Norwegian. First of all, and I can't overstate this enough, the food is extremely bad. This is important to state up front, because eating is virtually the only thing to do while you're onboard. The food served on the Norwegian Sun makes Applebees look gourmet. You will dream longfully for the reheated frozen food from TGI Fridays. The Orlando Airport food court will appear to be a culinary Valhalla after your time spent on the Norwegian Sun. Second, this extremely bad food is served by staff that simply don't care. You will sit down for dinner and wait 15 minutes to be greeted by your waiter. Each subsequent visit from your waiter will take 10-20 minutes. Your beverages and food will all arrive at room temperature. Your ability to even speak to your waiter will be blunted by the fact that he speaks under his breath and walks away as soon as he can. Finally, in case you were able to enjoy the cruise for other reasons, it will assuredly be spoiled by the captain's desire to catch air on the waves of the high sea. Multiple nights of my trip were completely sleepless as the captain pushed through intense weather, creating incredible turbulence onboard. The ship violently bobbed up and down for hours on end throughout the night. Many people I know were intensely seasick throughout the cruise because of this completely careless navigation. This is how your vacation tortures you. My work effectively made this trip free for me and I still hated it. I undoubtedly will never board another Norwegian ship for the rest of my life. Read Less

It was my mother's 50th birthday cruise, we had a group of approx. 34 ppl. Paulvic and Yuseph were amazing at keeping our room looking spotless. The staff was constantly cleaning so I feel like it was a sanitary environment. They even cleaned the pools nightly. My children loved camp and the staff there made me feel comfortable leaving my children with them. If a large group use walkie talkies, it helps you stay in contact. However my son's hand got crushed in the elevator frame (in between the elevator door and the wall) and Carnival is refusing to listen to me on how they can prevent this from happening to other children. THIS IS 100% PREVENTABLE ON CARNIVAL'S PART. I'm said to see that they are trying to sweep it under the rug when they can fix it. My son is terrified of elevators now. Their staff didn't even know what to do, I have pictures of the medical staff just watching in aww. Other than the safety of children the ship was good. Read Less

My family and I wanted to take a end of the summer vacation together. We cruised August 16-19th. We honestly decided to cruise Norwegian because of the open bar, because we normally cruise Royal Caribbean but drink packages for 20 is a tad expensive. Norwegian open bar was really not worth it the staff was so rude and made the guest feel unwelcome like we were annoying them. The food on the ship was disappointing. A lot of the food was like hospital food with little flavor. The service from the staff was horrible. The majority of the staff including the bartenders and waiters was that they appeared to be annoyed by the guests and seem to have a careless attitude about providing good service. I have travelled on other cruise lines so I understand what quality customer service is and it was not there on this trip. When I would approach a staff member with a simple question no one ever seem to have an answer and the majority of the staff was not able to communicate basic english to answer questions like “where is the bathroom”? Or “what time are we scheduled to be at our next destination?” We upgraded one of our rooms to a balcony and it wasn’t worth it. The room was so tight that you literally had to jump over one bed to get in the room. I really wish I had a picture of that mess. Also, before cruising I was told I had to put a $300 hold per room. I did not have to do that my room key was disabled from making purchases which was fine I did not want to make any purchases. So if your wondering I set my payment to cash on checkin and never went to the service desk to change it. No $300 hold and cards disabled. For smokers they don’t sell Newport’s so don’t run out. Based on this experience this will most likely be our last cruise with Norwegian. Read Less

When I began the cruise experience with the company my expectations were extremely high due to the reviews I had read. Not being able to go to Cuba was a huge let down and knowing we were not going due to unforeseen circumstances was understandable but at the same time I was traveling with a group of 13 including myself and some were not able to get in contact with the travel agent. I was told one thing about onboard credits and when we arrived on the Sky it was completely different from staff members. Some staff members were rude and instead of being friendly they either ignored me or rolled there eyes. Which is completely unacceptable due to me on a cruise on vacation with a large group. Also when we arrived I'm the main point of contact for the group of 13 which means I brought alot of people some who hadn't cruise before to enjoy this time with me and to get the experience which for some they weren't impressed. Breakdown from start to finish. Get out of the car we are greeted with someone who is taking our bags then they say can I get a complimentary tip (as if its a demand). We then get to the security area where they what I thought was 1 person working I look over to find that there is another line open but the employee isn't saying anything to anyone. I arrive at check in which the person doesn't even give me a map of the ship just a key card and tells me my room number. Get on Board not alot of people saying anything other than hello. No knowledge of a specific location to go to for food. Yes we have the app but we are also not trying to be tied to our phones (WE ARE ON VACATION). CREDITS FOR EXCURSIONS..... They were per room instead of per person. My cabin mate was a friend of mine and it should of at least been split down the middle. They just did things as if everyone was a couple and that wasn't the case for many in my group. Food: Not the best and were on repeat which got old after being on a boat by like day 2. Service overall: Guest service slightly rude Cafeteria staff very rude Crew working the floor we stayed on were the most polite and very attentive. Overall not the best and not very happy I have a $250 credit with them due to not staying with our actual course. Read Less

Royal Seas. Let me first say that there is nothing Royal about this. Don’t let the pictures of the brand new cruise ships fool you. The ship we got on was rusted and corroding away. They called us with an all inclusive package that in reality, was nothing inclusive about. We gave them a credit card number that we knew did not have enough to cover the initial $1,000 so that it would be declined and they could leave us alone. Well they had a way around that and charged it anyways so that we were way over our limit. After 6 months we decided that this was not something we were interested in. After trying to get a refund, we were refused and told basically that we either take it, give it to a friend, or forfeit the money. After some deliberation we decide to just go ahead and take it. We should have just forfeited the money. There was a bunch of taxes and hidden fees that were not included in our all inclusive package. We also paid $300 to upgrade our resort on the island so that our food and beverages were included. We set our date, book our flights ($400 extra), and arrive in FT. Lauderdale. After also upgrading the rental car (because we aren’t fitting comfortably into a Kia Rio $170 extra), we get to our hotel that Royal Seas booked us claiming to be a Ramada....yeah like 10 years ago. Let’s talk about false advertising here folks. The room itself was spacious, beds were not terribly uncomfortable, but the AC only cooled to about 78 degrees. Top that with only 4 tv stations, and the late night drug deals in the parking lot....we were not happy. Then we find out the next day our “orientation” was actually a Time Share tour. Living in a tourist town we know what a waste of time that was about to be...but they hold our Cruise tickets hostage until you endure 2 hours of “OMG it wont even cost you that much and you get this and this and this” better known as we cost more then a car payment and will bankrupt you into a contract you cant get out of. Come on Wyndham, you could have at least put us up in your “resort” to sell us a time share. After leaving 2 hours of our life that we will never get back, we call Royal Seas to complain about the accommodations, at first we get a rude little girl who very unprofessionally hangs up on us. As business owners, rule 1, never be the first to hang up. After calling back and speaking to management, they acted like they were gonna put us through to HR to put a formal complaint against that person, but we were hung up again, and only after saying they didnt have anything else available. Needless to say, we packed our bags, found the best little AirB&B 1 hour away and hightailed it out of there with our cruise tickets. Honestly, the AirB&B was the highlight of our trip. On day 3 we make our way to the port to board the ship. We get there at 11, stand in line for 1.5 hours, get charged $150 (taxes, fees, taxis, etc) and board the ship. Only to not have our rooms ready so we are forced to be around a bunch of strangers while hoarding our stuff because, well, they let anyone aboard. After barely eating a down right terrible lunch buffet, we sweat our butts off on the outside deck so the claustrophobia isn’t as bad before finally getting to go to our room...Where we promptly tried to hide in for 3 hours until the dang boat finally set sail. Let me say this right here if nothing else, they do not tell you what’s included, help you out at all, or care if you are getting everything you want out of the amenities included. We were afraid to leave the room for fear of having to be charged anything extra and at 18% gratuity alone, no thanks. Skipping ahead to the next morning (because there are just some stresses that needn’t be said) at 830 we all but ran off the ship to the hot island Bahamian air where we had to wait on a taxi to our resort. There’s our first indication that Islanders are not very friendly, especially when you’re a different skin color then them. We were ignored and left waiting for the next taxi because one female driver decided we weren’t her people. The next taxi held 12 people in it, 12 hot sweaty people, barely working AC, and a 20 year old van in desperate need of shocks. 20 grueling minutes later we arrive at the “all inclusive resort” where we were told to make sure we have a day bag packed because for 6 hot miserable hours, we would not be allowed to check into our room. At first we were excited. there was music, white (ish) beaches, and clear blue water. We found our own spot along the beach and took turns in the water (after all, trust no one, especially islanders haggling with you on the beach for Conch shells, marijuana, and Cocaine...yes, cocaine which we were offered 10 minutes after stepping foot on the beach.) 2 miserable hours later we get our buffet lunch (mediocre) and proceed to sit around for 4 more miserable hot sweaty hours before standing in line for 45 mins to get room keys. After walking to the absolute furthest room on the island we are met with a nice cool ACed room, but missing towels which an employee gave to us about 20minutes after getting in there. 7 hours in and we were already dead sick of being trapped in this resort. After looking into tours, excursions, and tourists traps (dont even ask about them unless you got money coming out of your ass because thats honestly the only way you’ll afford anything) the next day we purchased a rental car. $85 with taxes, we set off on day 2 with the resort in the rear view. While we found our own private beaches, coral rehabilitations, and deserted roads, the island is dirty, poor, and literally a living garbage can. Trash everywhere, run down buildings everywhere, abandoned hotels. It was downright sad at the state of what could have been a beautiful island. Day 3 we return the rental to an extremely rude owner who decided overnight that we were no longer worth mannerisms and check out of our hotel to get back on the dreaded cruise ship. I will say the return home was not nearly as bad now that we knew what was included but still, Royal Seas isn’t even comparable to one of those little rescue boats hanging off of a Carnival cruise ship. Before they con you into spending your hard earned money, think twice and read reviews. Splurge for Carnival, or stay away from floating death traps that hold a thousand people who would shove you overboard to save themselves and make your own way. AirB&Bs include house boats if you wanna be on the waters. Just saying. Read Less

The food was bad, the waiter was good but there seemed to be no excitement from the staff. The freestyle meals are cold and not friendly. The smoke on the ship from the casino was horrible. You could smell it 2 floors down in the dining area. The staff on the ship were not educated on events and where to go many times we asked. We have cruises many times and this was probably the most disappointing cruise we have ever been on. Our cabin was nice and we enjoyed having a balcony but when we tried to sit out there the people in cabin 8051 were smoking. We were not told this ship allowed smoking or we would not have scheduled a cruise in this ship. The staff when we got off the ship in customs were very rude to everyone getting off of the ship. We will probably not cruise with Norwegian again. Read Less

With a group of 13 adults the embarkation & disembarkation were surprisingly QUICK & EASY, other cruise lines could learn for your company procedure. My balcony suite was perfect for me & Jose(Angel) did an amazing job keeping it clean and keeping me stocked with towels. The food was really good, everywhere we ate. Pool deck service was amazing Kevin & Felipe kept the drinks coming. Comedian Jay Moore was HILARIOUS!! It was nice to have the movie option in the afternoon for those that needed a break from the sun. Cruise director Jasper was very entertaining & funny hosting the dance contest. I cant remember the name of the Spanish Band that played but the Selena tribute was REALLY GOOD. Nina was very friendly and entertaining during the trivia game. The private island was really nice, good was good and Felipe kept the drinks flowing. I wasn't in the casino long but the staff was friendly when I was there. The only thing I didn't like was the muster, it was to HOT, crowded and uncomfortable to be standing for so long. But the info was good to know incase. Read Less

The ship is renovated on the inside and nicely done. The Pool on this ship is way too small for the number of people. I found the kiddie pool on front of ship was more relaxing then main pool. The pool deck had a trashy party atmosphere- women were twerking on pool deck. The DJ at the white party was playing obscene music- with children present. The Norwegian Sky Bahamas cruise is more of a booze cruise. However, this will be ending soon as they are stopping the free open bar as of September. And people will then not drink as much because they will have to pay. For a first time cruiser the ship and cruise may be enjoyable but for people who have been on other cruise lines and larger ships this cruise is average at best. The buffet lines were lit and I felt like I was in a school cafeteria, or prison. The dining room was a pleasant experience. The service was excellent on the ship in every department which made the cruise more enjoyable. Read Less

My company purchased this cruise for the office staff (Memorial Day 3 day 4 night cruise), I had never cruised with RC only NCL. I think I got spoiled on NCL because this was a huge disappointment. I was pretty excited to cruise another Cruise Line and the largest ship sailing right now, but it was lacking. The name "Royal" should actually be called "Not Impressive Cruise Line" Embarkation was quick, getting our luggage was quick, other then that, nothing special. We had the drink package, and I'm not a drinker so figured I'd be tipsy but it seemed like all the drinks were watered down because I just never got drunk. LOL The Windjammer Buffet, I tried breakfast there and it was really disgusting, the scrambled eggs felt like it had some type of fiber in it, the texture was just off, I'm assuming it was fake eggs, eggs Benedict was warm/to cold, and just wrong, the over easy eggs were sitting on plates under a warmer light, I just couldn't get myself to eat something like over easy eggs sitting under a warmer. The sausage links crumbled if you cut them, I have no idea what they were, the bacon was rubbery and under cooked. Breakfast was a washout and I didn't eat breakfast again on the ship. We also tried dinner one day, food again was warm, not hot, and stale like it sat being warmed for way too long, so we left and went and had Pizza at Sorrentos, which was good. Wonderland, this is an experience, the food was strange, some of it was really good, while others were a little to weird to eat or the texture was just wrong lol but that's Wonderland, I suggest if you want to try something new, adventure food, try it, it's definitely memorable. Chops Grill: Very bland, I had the Filet Mignon, I ordered it medium, I got well done, it was very bland and the sauce they offered for dipping was also very bland. The extra price you pay for this, just wasn't worth it. 150 Central Park: Limited menu and this time the food was so salty, my hands and feet swelled up. I must have drank a gallon of water so I could get my rings off. The pumpkin soup was very good, the salad also very good, but the lobster was not impressive. My favorite place to eat was Sorrento's and El Loco Fresh. Entertainment was average, but with such a short cruise and it being a company trip, we didn't get to book much with 6000 people on this ship it was impossible to get reservations for a party of 28. The casino was always packed. When the ship was at Coco Cay and Nassau they closed everything down, no shopping on the ship, no bands playing on the pool deck, no activities scheduled for those who chose to stay on board, it was really boring, the first day we laid around our room after walking on the decks to see what was what, they don't have any movies playing on our TV's or anywhere on the ship. We ended up napping until the 6000 were back on the ship and then it was so busy you couldn't go to anything because of the crowds. Employees: They all seemed a bit quiet, on NCL they're friendly, joke around, the employees just seem happier. If I made friendly comments to the employees on Symphony they actually seemed shocked that I would joke or acknowledge them. Maybe it's the clientele I don't know, are people more friendly on NCL? I also noticed a lot less class on this cruise. Shore excursion, Nassau hmmm what can you say, Dirty, overpriced, aggressive sales, will not accept "no thank you" the first dozen times you say it. Our driver from Atlantis back to the ship was drinking rum with the drunk riders in the front and driving reckless back to the ship. I don't care what cruise line I am on I'm never getting off the ship in Nassau again. Cabins are much larger on Symphony then on the NCL ships I've been on, the storage better, 2 closets and a dresser, I appreciated that part of the ship. Nothing on TV but several ESPN channels, FOX, MSNBC and BBC. If you choose to watch a movie on demand be prepared to pay $12.00 Read Less

Group outing my first time on a cruise and it was the worst experience. They bust u across the head with the prices for everything. Cabin was clean they didn't have enough towels no rags no toilet paper lil channels on tv, TV very small in cabin. Bad odor in hallways. Food was horrible that came with the purchase of the cruise. Not enough activities very quiet and laid bt nt enough partying. Not much for kids to do in game room which I had to pay for as well. Teen club had to pay for. I paid more money on the ship then the whole cruise. Pretty much had to pay for everything you wanted to do outside of your cabin. Employees were not friendly nor attractive with the guest nor informative. They wanted you to pay for wifi which sucked. Came with a big group and getting off the ship to go to the beach was horrible they wanted to charge us 7 dollars to the beach and 7 dollars beach to the ship each person. So never really experienced the Bahamas what a waste of money. I will never get back on this cruise line nor recommend anyone else to get on this cruise and waste their money. We called ourselves "Chicks On the Run" and a group of girlfriends decided to take a three day cruise and have fun, play cards and enjoy music and laughter and girl company. Boy were we in for a negative surprise!! We chose the line and ship so that we did not have to drive eight plus hours to south Florida. First the room attendant only gave us one small bar of soap for two guests. Towels were gray and rough and even though we asked for extra towels we never received them nor did we ever get a bucket of ice in our room. Dirty glass was left for us to clean??? . Cabin was kept clean, however the vinyl couch left much to be desired and one would never want to sit on it! Dining room staff gave us terrible service; so bad that we complained at Guest Services. Wine was brought to the table after we had finished most of our meal and the table was still filled with dirty dishes while the the waiter was serving us our dessert. Steak was tough, prime rib was tough and they do not know what au jus is. We received gloppy beef gravy for the prime rib. Breakfast was not much better in the dining room, as you had to ask for every little thing, including jam, butter and little pastries, just to name a few. Lunch at the buffet was good. Guy Fierrri's burgers were the best and the line to get a burger proved it. The Mongolian Wok station was also very good, however long, long lines to have your selections cooked. Dirty floors all around the ship, lack of help all over the ship was quite obvious. Do not get the "Drink Package" as you will never get the service to order the drink and if you do, you will not receive it, way within an hour! Daylight savings time and the ships clocks were never corrected, so we got our wakeup call an hour late! Public bathrooms were nasty. Needed a luggage tag for disembarkation, go get it yourself! I am still waiting for credit for my beverage package that I was told would be credited to my account!! The best part of the cruise was being with friends! Carnival was to give us a "Cocktail Party with dry snacks and drinks. It turned out to be drinks we really did not want and not even a cracker was to be found! Desserts were good. So I guess the saying "Let Them eat cake" is the way Carnival thinks!!! Smoke was terrible wherever you walked on the public areas of the ship. Felt bad for the staff that had to inhale all the second hand smoke around them. I have sailed over 25+ cruises, including Carnival and I have never been on a ship as bad as this. Read Less

A group of us that are Super fans from NFL teams chose to cruise to the Bahamas, Over all the experience was not great. Food was decent, but service was slow or non existent. Ship was clean but the crew did not seem friendly and seemed disinterested, They did not make you feel welcome. This did not include everyone, just the majority. We did find some that seemed to have fun and made you feel special. Our steward never seemed to materialize but the room was clean and presentable. This was just a very disappointing cruise. Food was as I said decent, Osheehans was our favorite. The buffet was goos as well and the Shanghai Noodle Bar was also one of our favorites. Debarkation was horrendous. No organization and there was major chaos. At this time I would not recommend Norwegian Cruise Lines and our plan is we will not be cruising with them again. Eventually had to take sheet from a cart in the hallway. Getting off the ship was horrifying. We needed to be on the 5th floor to get off the ship. We tried to get off the ship early by carrying our own luggage off. Traffic was so backed up that we we're standing in the back of the ship, on the 7th floor stairwell. And they kept calling more groups to get off the ship. I would think just a couple weeks after crushing 2 moorings and damaging the ship, their service would be on point. That was not the case. Drink package would have been worth it if it didn't take 30 minutes to get a drink. Food was good. But I can get good food anywhere. Please do not take a Norwegian cruise line adventure.... Ever..
