We had cruised on the Grand Celebration before the hurricane hit Freeport, having had a great time on that ship, so the next time in Florida we thought to check out the Grand Classica going to Nassau. The first time I took the Celebration, I was pleasantly surprised because truthfully, I had very low expectations to start but was very impressed by the experience. This time, however, my expectations were higher and so I ended up a bit disappointed as it did not live up to that original cruise. Embarkation was swift and painless and we were on the ship quickly. I found our ship to have very few passengers on board- which I thought would be awesome because I had servers everywhere being helpful. It turned out to be really disappointing because there was no action- there were bars and lounges completely empty in many parts of the ship, the huge dining rooms were very empty as well which was kind of creepy. Every cruise I've been before this one was packed and the crowds get annoying at times, but I think I prefer that to a relatively empty ship. Once on board, I found I was not a fan of the ship's layout. The sun deck had no live entertainment and only 2 bars, one quietly tucked into the side and the other in the back of the ship which was annoying to access. Servers were all over the place presumably to make up for the lack of bar areas to hang out. The main lounge was in the middle of the ship, with some neat looking lounges tucked into some fairly hard to reach areas elsewhere. I suspect a number of people missed these places entirely for that reason, some better signage would help. The cabin was huge relative to any other stateroom I have had before, and while cabins aren't a huge priority for me, not being jammed into a room like sardines like other cruises I've been on is something I appreciated. The room was big enough it would have almost qualified as a jr. suite on some other ships, minus the balcony of course. It was updated and well appointed. The only downside is there are only 10 balcony rooms on the entire ship, which are all suites. The food was OK to good, the buffet was adequate and the main dining hall was good quality. We dined at the Admiral's Club one night as well and it was superior dining in almost every way, which it should have been. What is interesting is that nearly everyone of our group of 6 commented that the dinner's appetizer and dessert was outstanding but the main courses were disappointing. It should be noted 2 of our group had steak overcooked, a big no-no if you are going to upcharge for it. The chefs working there should know how to properly cook a steak. The entertainment was very good when it was available. I suspect the lack of passengers resulted in not having as many entertainment options, and that is a shame, I thought who they did have was great. There was still plenty to do on this trip, but compared to the Grand Celebration cruise we took which was much fuller at the time, not even close in entertainment, both in quality and quantity. The service was awesome, best service I've had on any cruise, again, largely due to lack of passengers. Crew everywhere, everyone helpful and friendly, ready to assist with just about anything, just a joy to be around. This is an advantage of having a relatively empty ship I guess, but I took advantage and enjoyed talking to many of the crew, who had time to chat a lot of the time. The shore excursions were very good and the port of Nassau is fine. The ship heavily promoted the Blue Lagoon, which was a fun excursion. Lots to see and do there, an island with a very nice protected beach including encounters with dolphins, sea lions, stingrays, etc. We just hung out at the beach but the whole excursion was well worth the cost. The return home included some very rough seas but it was handled beautifully. Overall, the lack of passengers and quirky layout of the ship dampened the overall experience, but it was still a good one. I still think it's a great value and will definitely consider returning when I come back to Florida and want to spend a couple days at sea. Read Less

Let me start by saying the best part of my cruise was my housekeeper Tony, he was awesome. The bad Had a handful of rude crew members, bars were way under staffed, slide shut down, 1 pool shut down ( the quiet kid free pool ), customer service stations seemed to be closed more then open, ask crew about something and get wrong answer or a I dont know, Your Time Dining restaurant wasnt what we expected. 2 hrs plus for dinner after sitting down, took forever just to get a beverage at dinner, portions were portions for children so we learned to double everything we ordered. Plates and food thrown out in hallway from room service I suspect, left there for long periods of time. If on Lido deck and you were drinking alcohol you were treated differently then if you ordered a soda. If you ordered a soda they seemed to take their sweet time, look of disgust by them and I assume because Gratuities were not put on them if you had the soda package like alcohol if you had the Cheers package. Before booking I was looking at Royal Caribbean cruise lines and even called about Alcohol Package, wife dont drink I told them and they were willing to just let me purchase Alcohol package, Carnival when I called after booking due to liking the Itinerary better was told, no, anyone in room over 21 has to purchase as well. Told them wife doesnt drink was told it didnt matter. I knew I wasnt gonna drink $500.00+ plus of beer so I had to buy beer by beer to the tune of almost $8.00 a beer. It was my 1st cruise and prolly the last with Carnival. Half Moon Cay was awesome tho. Read Less

My wife called this cruise the best vacation we have ever been on. Our goal was to relax. We ditched the kids and did just that. Where there snafu's? Absolutely. Weather was too bad to disembark at princess cays. That's life on a ship and those things happen. I can't believe how small people get when life happens. Some of the passengers lost their stuff about having their shore excursions canceled and not being refunded instantly. We had our money credited to our account the next day. The food was good at the buffet, main dining and great at the specialty restaurants. the ships cleanliness was good for a vessel with that many passengers in an environment that is not hospitable. Personally watched the decks scrubbed every evening and carpets steam cleaned in our cabin hallway. We enjoyed the 2 shows we caught, 70 & 80s rock review and latin night. The 2 comedians were fantastic. Our biggest complaint was the casino. It is the only interior location where smoking is allowed and we couldn't even walk through it, let alone gamble. We will definitely go again. One word about some of these negative reviews, people really need to relax. It is a ship that has roughly 3-4k people on it every day in an environment that is not friendly to any material, metal, plastic, cloth, etc. This is not a brand new ship. This ship is not in perfect condition. Negative people will say negative things on these reviews and to the customer service reps on board. I feel sorry for them. We went on board with a good carefree attitude, if you do the same, you'll enjoy your vacation. Being on the ocean means you have to be flexible and you may not get to do everything you want, but your attitude will make this a good or bad experience. Read Less

My 3 year old had the time of her life, but I was disappointed. The Disney Oceaneer club for kids was fantastic and the nursery was also good. The adult entertainment and activities were awful. The buffet was better than average, but the main dining room, Pinocchio's Pizza, and the grill was bad to mediocre. If you don't have a rewards status on Disney, you can forget about booking any specialty restaurants, any decent adult or alcohol-oriented activities. Most of the adult activities consisted of Disney trivia, pop music, and NPC pop culture. If you're not an NPC, you will be very dissatisfied. They can't even get ice cream cones right-these were cheapest and worse I've ever seen in my life. Another low point was the quality of the hamburgers on Castaway Cay in particular. It looked like it was microwaved and it tasted gamey and rotten. If you're over 18 and not a Disney fanatic, any other line is better-even Carnival. At least Carnival figured out how to make a good burger at Guy Burger joint and has decent pizza. The cabin and bed were nice. I'm finnicky about mattresses and rate the mattress as a 8.5/10. I liked that the shower and toilet are separated and each have their own sink/mirror combo-that's terrific for families. The pull down bed and couch worked well. The wood trim and furniture in the cabin rattled with ship vibrations and became such an annoyance when trying to sleep that I engineered paper shims to wedge into the woodwork. The cleanliness of the cabin left some to be desired-the nooks and crannies had not been cleaned recently. If you like to sleep in a cool cabin, you can forget about it. The AC was awful and at the lowest setting, the room might only be as cool as the rest of the ship. I woke up sweating several times during the cruise. A maintenance tech looked at it and said it was operating as designed. I enjoyed the fact that they don't have a casino and don't constantly try to sell you drinks. I also liked that they had an accessible soda fountain so you don't have to ask a crew member for a soft drink as on other lines. The internet was horribily underpriced. I understand that they have a profit motive, but charging for popcorn, candy, and soda to see decades-old Disney movies or charging $80-$250/GB for internet access is a bit over the top. The least they could do is free messaging for FB messenger and the like-as many airlines now do. The ship was nice, but the styling was conservative and a little dated. No real complaints about the ship itself other than the miniature elevators that were finnicky. The engines and propulsion were smooth and produced little noise and vibration. Read Less

Firstly it reeked. It smells of sewage. The water they serve smells like sewage. Out of the 5 days we were cruising I can tell you I only had 1-2 decent meals. Bread served at every meal was hard and old. Food was always served cold. The buffet and dinning were the worst and least edible. We literally ate out of necessity. I can't even recommend food. Bring your own snacks and mostly survive on those. The staff were extremely inconsistent with rules and with policies that were literally posted for guests to read. Multiple times policies were ignored or changed at the discretion of the employee. We provided feedback several times when asked by staff. They literally just want to shove alcohol down everyone's throat and sell you stuff every 5 seconds. Oh and they painted without any regard for any guests or notification to guests. The fumes from the paint were horrid. I would not recommend this ship to anyone. I can't say much about others but I'd never get on this one again. The Bahamas was nice. If I ever cruise here again I'd plan to visit other islands while in Nassau. You can't really get to much from Princess Cays because they shuttle you there and back. I am 99% sure the next time I come will not be on a cruise ship. Save yourself the stomach aches, frustration, and overall lack of good service and fly there. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was cheap and were not expecting much, but we were blown away. The ship was so clean, the employees were the kindest people I have ever been helped by. Our three dinner servers were amazing people that made each night so special for my family and me. The food was delicious, we always found something yummy. Too many yummy things actually. :) The activities on board were fun and a plenty to choose from. We enjoyed crafting, games, singing performances and water slides the most. It was an incredible trip with memories to last a life time. My family consists of my husband and two elementary aged daughters. Our bedroom had a king bed and two Murphy-style twin beds that folded out from the wall, over our king size bed. The kids loved it, they thought they were bunk beds. :) There were three large closets to place our luggage and to hang our clothes. The bathroom could easily fit two people at a time which helped when getting ready for the day. The water got hot super fast which is a plus for me. Read Less

The price is not much me and my family went to Fort Lauderdale for 3 days and then got on to the cruise in total it costed 1300$ for 3 people. Very nice people, staff is very friendly. The bad things are the night time it is always really noisy and the boat rocks a little bit but it’s not the captains fault or anyone. The room service is amazing the beds are made perfectly. They give you free 1.5 litres water bottles for free. The pool is a little bit dirty but they clean it every day. The water slides are really clean and really fun. The food is really good. I would definitely recommend staying here!! p.s I’m 11 years old Read Less

This was my first cruise and I really wanted to take my parents away for my mom's birthday. We were skeptical of how the trip would be since this is a small older ship. We were pleasantly surprised, the ship looks great with the renovations, the room was lovely and perfect for a short 5 day itinerary. We really enjoyed the food at the palace and crossings! We had the premium beverage package and it was great, never had an issue with any drinks. All the ports were great, but the weather in Freeport (Grand Bahama) wasn't very good and for that reason our excursion (swimming with the pigs) wasn't worth it. Though we can't blame NCL for the weather. Sadly our final port, and the one we were most excited about, was great stirrup cay was cancelled due to the 10ft swells, so we were unable to tender. We were so upset, as we were all so excited for the day ashore. We understood that safety must come first, and that NCL would prefer us on the island making them money, but it put a damper on the end of the trip. Overall we were impressed with all the things to do on board the whole cruise, the room stew was so attentive, and the food amazing. Read Less

Entertainment was a big turn off. Ask crew where something was or anything and they were annoyed that you asked. Customer service on the phone is awful too had to wail almost an hour at one time. Freeport not very good. Wanted to be able to got o beach not just a place with shops and bars. Soda should be included on the trip especially water. Should not have to pay extra for that. Went to buffet for breakfast. Could not even eat bacon so fatty it would have made me sick Main dining food steak always over good food just no good. And buffet did not have variety just same stuff on different areas. and should have been opened longer Will never go on this cruise line again Read Less

Good afternoon. We just returned from this Cruise. It was very nice overall and a very nice family getaway. Our oldest son achieved his Platinum status on this cruise so he was elated. We are a family of four. The Jacksonville Cruise port experience was very nice. We arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled time but had no problem boarding. The first and second days at Sea were very relaxing with the Cruise Director Cam leading the cruisers. He was probably the best Cruise Director we had encountered. Very upbeat and personable young man. The Nassau port was very interesting as we ventured into the area. No planned excursions. Natives were very friendly. No issues We had to skip the Private Island due to high wind, high waves and very choppy seas. Real bumpy on approach and the Captain decided to move on. The cruise line actually allowed the Captain to dock at Freeport the next day. We spent about an hour at Senor Frogs and had a blast. Debarkation was a bit more challenging. Didn't actually get off the ship until 10:30 AM. For some reason they stopped calling decks and numbers for a while. Overall the cruise was very good, relaxing and enjoyable. The ship certainly has some flaws; however, we still enjoy all of our family cruise vacations. I hope that Carnival is reviewing the possibility of building a new Cruise Port somewhere south of Jacksonville preferably in St. John's County so that larger ships can be enjoyed without having to consider navigating under a passenger bridge. we booked a spa cloud 9 with balcony room. it was slightly larger than other balcony rooms i've been in. it was great, for 3 of us. food was OK, drinks were better. we had one person in our group who can't walk long distances so we had a transport chair for her. embarkation was a breeze and so was disembarkation. the ship itself is very confusing in the way everything is set up. so many times we went back and forth to the extreme. i think the maps are not correct. service was exceptional. we did nassau ourselves but booked the stingray adventure for half moon cay. it was fun. and sitting on the beach looking at the clear turquoise water was just soothing. i used the spa. scheduled a hot stone massage and blow out. well, the hot stone massage was instead a deep tissue and very painful. she barely used the hot stones, and as you know, it's supposed to be relaxing. before we started the therapist asked a bunch of personal questions like how am i detoxing at home (um, i'm not???), etc. then, at the end of the session, she pressured me into buying a skin brush and detox bath salts. i was so floored that i did buy. but i took them back the next day and complained. they took them back no problem and they are credited to my account. i would go again, but maybe to bermuda (been there before) or some of the other northern caribbean islands. My family and I were on the 5-day Caribbean cruise to Key West, Nassau, Great Stirrup Cay and Grand Bahamas travelling on the Norwegian Sky. We returned on January 29 of this year. I just wanted to share some of our overall impressions of this cruise. The day we boarded in Miami, the registration process was straightforward and because we arrived early, it didn’t take too long. We found out later though, that the room card for my youngest child was not linked to my credit card, which caused us much grief later when I had to stand in a long line at customer service several times to find someone who gave us the correct information about how to do that. After we boarded, we joined the crowd at the buffet for lunch, our first introduction to the ship. We met the fellow making individual ice cream cones to order. It was a got day (we left from Miami) and he was sweating quite a bit, but he was using his gloved hand and the paper hat he was wearing to wipe the sweat from the top of his head. He continued to scoop up the ice cream without washing his hands– no thanks, we were not in the mood for ice cream after that! I was really surprised that a ship that took the time to have staff spray passengers’ hands with hand sanitizer as soon as we entered the dining room would allow staff to ignore proper hygiene like that. In general, the food on the cruise was “meh” at best. The breakfast buffet had the same selection every day. There were 2 separate lines for the indoor dining buffet to grab food, and many times each line ran out of food whether it was the bacon, waffles or some other item. Unbelievably the pancakes actually made noise when they were banged on a plate, yes, they were that overdone. We tried all of the complimentary restaurants on the boat, but we never did get a decent (and by decent I mean flavourful) meal. That was really disappointing because one of the benefits of a cruise is to try different types of food. I have been on other cruise lines (Royal Caribbean and Carnival) and both offered many, many more activities on their ships than we had on the Norwegian Sky. There was one trivia game in the morning, one in the afternoon and that was it for daytime activities with no activies on the pool deck itself. No dance contest, no “hairy chest” contest or any of the funny activities offered by others. They did have a live band for 30 minutes in the afternoon but that was it. Because the Sky was an older ship, a free beverage package was offered. A word of warning for people purchasing this package on the day of the cruise, the basic beverage package does not include a 20% tip for every drink. There is a beverage plus package that can be purchased at the time of boarding, but that is $128 US per person and that also does not include the 20% tip surcharge. We purchased a beverage plus package well in advance of the cruise and I called Norwegian a few times before the cruise left to make sure we would not have any additional charges (we read the warnings on CruiseCritic). We were assured that there wouldn’t be any other charges when we ordered alcoholic drinks. Well, imagine our surprise when we found out a few days into the cruise that there was a “tax” applied while in the US (while we were in Miami and Key West). We also found out – a few drinks into another cruise day – that this “tax” also applied in Great Stirrup Cay as well! The amounts were not huge, but I hate it when I ask a specific question and I am lied to, so be warned! I will also mention that we did not have good luck with our cabin steward. One of our staterooms had no toilet paper for 2 days. If we brought food back to our cabin, there were days when the dirty cutlery and napkins were left behind. In fact, in one of our rooms they were still there the day we checked out. All in all this was the first cruise we were happy to go home, while we had fun as a family, our fun had nothing to do with the cruise. We spend a lot of money for a 2 out of 5 experience. I definitely will not be cruising with NCL again. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had already sailed carnival a few times , and wanted to try what we heard was a step up. It was terrible! Just trying to get an elevator you could fit in was nearly impossible. We took the stairs 5-6 flights most of the day. Just up and down. The staff was unpleasant for the most part. There was definitely more unhappy irritated staff then there was happy and helpful staff. Food was regular cafeteria food. Not that great. Even the restaurants you pay for were subpar. They nickel and dime you for everything. Due to weather we were unable to dock one of the days at their island cococay. Understandable for safety, but they refused to refund our port and docking fees!! They basically stole that money. We couldn’t dock and had to stay at sea, so why are we being charged for it? Terrible! I bought the drink package and those were good. However, it’s a good thing I closely reviewed my bill. They had charged me over 100$ for drinks that were included with my package!! Those were refunded once brought to their attention. This cruise line was a complete scam! Oh, don’t forget to return your pool towel! That’s 25$ a piece. Room service is also an added fee with this company. Just trying to take money from you anyway they can. Also don’t get the Key!!!! They say you will have special times to use the on board activities without lines. Well those times are while you at port and normally off the ship exploring an island . So unless you don’t plan on getting off then you will miss those times. Also it says you get special seating for shows. Not true! The internet service it included was terrible! No one got decent service. The only thing it was good for was the welcome lunch and last day breakfast, ( The food wasn’t great) overall the key was a complete waist. The shows were not good either. Not worth it at all. We paid over 500 for a cabana on the beach. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Nothing special about them. They actually made it harder to explore , because they are so far away from everything else. They are literally on the edge of cococay ...farthest thing away. You pay 500+ to be near nothing! There were plenty of chairs open right by the ocean bar and food. Wish we had saved the money. Paid for a photo package. They didn’t have anyone taking pictures at dinner, or at our private cabana. You had to wait in lines with back drops for a picture.Do yourself a favor and Just take your own. Carnival was much better even though they say it’s a cheaper company. At least they didn’t steal money. Stay away from Royal Caribbean! Read Less

After reading the reviews about this ship I was extremely nervous about this cruise; however, I didn’t experience any of the major negatives in past reviews. Listed below are my pros and cons. Pros: The cruise director Cam was amazing. He was really high energy and was able to included everyone in most of the onboard games and shows. The embarkment process was painless from the moment we parked out car we were on the boat within 20 to 30 mins same as leaving the boat. Most of the staff was friendly. Cons: You are unable to use the drink package on their private island. On NCL and Royal I was able to use my drink package on their private island. The drink package limits you to 15 drinks and I get it that they have to make some money but the days at sea it was easy to reach 15 drinks a day (6am to 6am). Once you reach 15 drinks they no longer allow you to get any alcoholic drinks even if you are willing to purchase them. Late night food choose not much to choose from. Read Less

I wasn't sure if it was a scam until we got the cruise voucher from the hotel in Orlando. It is not a scam. They will try to sell things such as dining experiences and excursions but the only one you should get at minimum is the beach getaway, because otherwise you won't see the beach. I chose this cruise because it was low cost. There was plenty of buffet food. Lots of it was nutritious and it was all fresh. The service was better than decent. The entertainment was captivating and mesmerizing, personally referring to the acrobatic and dance shows and live band. There was generally something interesting to do for the two nights. They had random recreational activities with a host, such as bingo games, salsa lessons, and "field goal" style golf with traffic cones to win a free drink. It was easily a great experience. Highly recommend. Read Less

The shows were so, so... Richard Harris the comedian, was good. Although, we never made it to our final destination to trade off performers and entertainers, so that probably contributed. We booked 2 rooms (at the same time), but were assigned different tables on different floors for sit down dining! Then they tried to accommodate by moving us to 8pm dining... won't work with kids. The 2 times we did attend sit down dining we had bad service. The first night the server was sick, so we got fill in service from the other waiters on the floor. We were the last people to get our food over an hour after we were sat down. The 2nd time we got better service, but the lobster we ordered was TERRIBLE. Completely overcooked and chewy. Windjammer and Compass Deli was the saving grace for food for us. Granted the food quality was barely above gold corral buffet food in my opinion. But it was fast and always there, which was great with kids. We NEVER made it to Nassau, never picked up the last entertainers. Instead, their compromise was to take us BACK to Key West for a quick 3-4 hour day trip by the time we got through customs. We're from Florida, so this was really disappointing to not even go the Bahamas, whole reason we booked the cruise. There is not much of anything to do on Key west besides, eat, trolley and the butterfly garden. Which we did the trolley the 1st time... so we gave the butterfly garden a try, oh yeah, the closed 45 min after we got there! That's because we couldn't get off the ship until after 2pm going through customs. It was a 7 days cruise and NOT enough to do on the ship when the weather is so, so and you have so many sail days. They hide it up front, add it to your account bill which you only get at the last minute, and if you don't ask to get it adjusted before you leave the boat they won't refund it or adjust it. $180 amounts to a 15% increase in the cost of a ticket. I'm all for tipping, and would have left a generous one, but the deception and trickery used by cruise ships to force a tip amount is just wrong. In regard to the overall trip the ship had lots of dining options and the food was good. We traveled Royal Caribbean before and the ship was a bit less dated, but the difference was minimal. Almost all of the onboard staff was helpful and friendly. The only other issue I had is the keycards they gave us on entering didn't work, which meant we had to go to guest service as soon as we got on the ship to get them fixed. Guest services had long lines and it was a pain. Not a good start, and I'd suggest that when there is an error on their part they try to fix it in a customer friendly way instead of making the customer stand in a line for an hour because of their mistake. MSC Divina, wow where do I even begin... I got off her today, first off we got to the port on sailing day at about 10:45 this is the first cruise I have ever been on that didn’t let you get on the ship before 12 they started boarding everyone at 1-1:15 we got on the ship went to the buffet had lunch they were already out of soup some How even though we were the first ones on the boat? We then go do a tour of the ship at that point it was almost time for our staterooms to be ready I feel like they weren’t ready for us, the ship was absolutely filthy the bar staff acted as if they have never bartended before how do you not know that Bombay sapphire is a gin and not a vodka are you kidding me? The crew on this ship did not was to be there what so ever, they were extremely unhappy makes you bummed out when you save up your pennies to take this trip, my favorite thing to drink is moscato by day 3 they were completely out of it they kept telling me to get something else.. why should I have to get something else when that’s what I like to drink and you were out of it? That’s not my problem.. the MSC marine reserve(the private island in the Bahamas) was awful, the food was absolutely covered in millions of flies as well as the bars, you know how many times a fly poops? every 30 seconds! We went back to ship after an hour so for some weird reason our room attendant kept hiding our remote.. so we had to call him twice because we couldn’t find it I don’t know if he thought he was going to get some kind of tip out of It or what but it was pretty rediculous so I guess MSC is not part of any kind of sanitizing like royal Caribbean and all the other cruise lines do “washy washy happy happy” half the time there was absolutely no sanitizer in the dispenser, as well as the bathrooms had no soap most of the time so gross, btw i got off the boat today and I now have the flu and spent hundreds of dollars at the doctors today to get medicine because your cruise line doesn’t care for cleaning hands or sanitizing on that topic I saw employees let the tongs hit the floor in the buffet area and they just put them back on the buffet line not even clean them! They also let their guests grab the food with their bare hands unbelievable on to my next topic, why can you not bring a cocktail near the jacuzzi or pool? You literally pay these life guards to yell at you while your supposed to be “on vacation” and tell you can’t have a cocktail while your relaxing in the pool? Wow but children can jump and dive in the pool. The beds in the staterooms are like sleeping on plywood! We had a bulb out in our bathroom for most of the trip as well let the state room attendant know about it but he didn’t seem to care about much. The theater should probably have handrails as well I saw multiple people falling, kind of a big deal. I honestly know why this cruise was cheap they say “you get what you pay for” and I sure did get what I paid for and would never take MSC again even if someone paid me to go on it. Read Less

I am retired and an avid cruiser. I have cruised on most of the major lines. This was my first trip on MSC. I was attracted to it by the price and my desire to try something different. I had read a lot of really terrible reviews so I arrived at the ship with some hesitations. The load in was a headache. Long lines mostly in the sun. My mind is drawing mental pictures of a ship that looks like a 50's B movie. When we arrived on the ship, I found how wrong I was. I was surprised by the beauty and quality of the furnishings and decor. The Italian flavor of the vessel is everywhere and quite tastefully done. I particularly enjoyed the mosaics in the pool area. My second fear was that I would be spending 5 days eating tv dinners. So my first stop was at the buffet. There were not as many entrees as on some of the other cruise lines, but the choices were adequate and preparation and taste was on par with any ship I have been on. The pizza bar in particular was phenomenal. Ok so the ship is beautiful and the food is very good. I bet our stateroom is going to be the size of a closet. Wrong again. I had booked a room with a window. But when I arrived there, MSC had given us a free upgrade to a balcony. The room was spacious by cruise ship standards and nicely appointed. The bathroom even had glass shower doors. The staff was pleasant, maybe not overly so but I don't take a lot of pampering. The entertainment was a bit of a throwback to earlier times. Acrobats, aerialists, dancers and singers. It wasn't Royal Caribbean Broadway, but these performers were at the top of their game and their enthusiasm was obvious. The shows were lots of fun. (One caveat, the Cruise Director and Captain talk too much. You can arrive at the show 15 or 20 minutes late and still have time to be bored before the show starts.) Lest you think I see the world through rose colored glasses I will tell you service in the Dining Room is slow. Very slow. Plan on two hours for dinner. The Buffet is a good alternative for quicker food but will be crowded to the max. Here's a tip, if you don't mind a few steps, there are tables in the adjoining pool area with a lovely ocean view and less noise. Also the public restrooms are small for a ship of this size. You may find it easier to return to your stateroom especially if you are in a hurry. : ) The beaches at the private island are gorgeous. There is some coral so it is best to have water shoes. If you like to snorkel go along the rocks you will see some good size fish. Don't miss the laser light show of the lighthouse. It is a genuine stunner. The plants are recently planted and not what you would hope for in a tropical "paradise." If you have problems with flies near the food trucks. Cover your food with a plate and step away before you eat, or take a short walk back to the ship and eat there. So was it a perfect trip? No. Every cruise has its own little headaches. But to be honest I recently came off cruises on Royal Caribbean Symphony and Celebrity Edge that cost a lot more and delivered a lot less. Would I cruise with MSC again? I already have booked two more cruises with MSC. That should be recommendation enough. My advice to you: When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade, add Tequila. Call it a Margarita, and book another Cruise. Read Less

This was my fourth cruise with RCI, and, as usual, I left the ship satisfied. We decided to take this cruise as a family since the prices were very low, and we all enjoyed it. Although embarkation was a bit slow, it went smootly. When we boarded the ship, we found out it wasn't as small as we thought it would be. Although it was very accessible, it had a very decent size. Also, since the ship is 30 years old, we thought it would look old. We were wrong. The only thing that made it seem old was the sound that the engines made when they started. We booked an oceanview cabin. When we arrived, we were dissapointed by the size, but we slept comfortably and didn't find the size as a problem, but if you're claustrophobic or are over 70, I wouldn't recommend booking an oceanview cabin for its size. Dining is delicious on this ship. The main dining room was fancy, and the food was amazing. The Windjammer was very good, and there were many potions to choose from, but I would recommend for everyone to have lunch at Compass Deli. The paninis are delicious. All activities are fun and entertaining. The cruise director's staff does a really god job. What you cant miss: 60 Seconds Or Less Challenge, all Trivias, Game Shows, and Baggo Competition. Entertainment is great on the Majesty. Although I didn't attend much shows, I did see Boogie Wonderland, and you can't miss it. All crew is amazing, as on every Royal Caribbean ship. I would like to recognize certain crew members: Qiao Xiu (China), Yifan (China), James (UK), Juvenil (Philippines), Samantha (Mexico), and Tanya (UK). The last is the cruise director, and she does an outstanding job. Regarding ports, there were 2 I loved. First, Coco Cay. The private island is amazing for all ages, and it provides a day full of adventure. I do recommend for every kid and young adult to get the Thrill Waterpark Full Day Pass. It's totally worth it, and all waterslides are amazing. Then, Key West. It's a beautiful, small town filled with small houses. If you want to get to know the island, I recommend renting a bike on your own. You'll save some money. Finally, Nassau. Unless you're going to the Atlantis, don't det off the ship. Overall, we had an amazing vacation, and I would recommend for everyone to take this 7 night cruise. Read Less

My husband and I sailed on Norwegian Pearl this past week and had an amazing time. I haven't been on a cruise in 10 years and this was my husband's first cruise. We stayed in an inside cabin and it was exactly what you would expect from such. Our stateroom attendant was nice and our room was kept spotless during out stay. We did find the bed very uncomfortable and the giant gap in the middle bothered us a bit. We didn't realize until the last night that the zipper was broken that was supposed to hold this bed contraption together. The food on the ship was great! I'm a picky eater but everything I did put on my plate was good. My husband really liked the food as well. We didn't go to any of the specialty restaurants but we did go to formal dining at Summer Palace one night. Our server, Janice, that told us she's been with Norwegian for 10 years, was absolutely fantastic! She made the experience even better. We both got the steak and it was the best steak I've ever had. The entertainment was excellent. We thought the dancers and singers in the shows were great and went to all of the comedy shows. The comedian, Alex Ortis, was very funny and we enjoyed the adult show. The ship was kept impressively clean and the crew was very nice. We did not enjoy the spinnaker lounge. It was always crowded and hard to find seating during events and the evening. We liked Bliss much better. We had very rough seas and 50 mph winds but the ship handled it well. We were supposed to go to Key West, Great Stirrup Cay, and Freeport. However, we were notified around 6pm that we would be unable to tender into Great Stirrup Cay the next day due to high winds, and were being rerouted to Nassau. We found this really cool since they could have just given us a day at sea. We had fun everywhere we went but would probably avoid an itinerary with Freeport and Nassau in the future. However, we would love to return to Key West in the future. Overall I would definitely recommend Pearl. I would give it 4 stars. Read Less

Everything about this cruise line stinks! Customer service is not in their vocabulary. The staff was rude, condescending and acted like they were doing me a favor even acknowledging me as a customer. The port in Nassau (where we were diverted to due to bad weather) was disgusting and I felt unsafe. I chose to get excursion credits during booking but EVERY one of my excursions were canceled by Norwegian...but they didn't tell us that until AFTER we did the whole disembarking process. No offers to do anything else - simply, "You're out of luck". 4 night cruise and never got to set foot on a beach!! The spa...don't even get me started! They did not honor their daily special and WAY overcharged me. Then to top it off, they also charged me 25% gratuity that I did not agree to. $267 for a massage - you've GOT to be kidding me! I spoke with 3 different employees about the situation and each one gave me the "it's not my problem" excuse. I had to stop payment at my bank - that's how bad it was! The final straw that broke this camel's back was the communication afterwards. I submitted my complaints to Norwegian and got the same crap customer service. Basically telling me that they cannot and will not help me and that I am just out all of this money. I will NEVER, EVER cruise with Norwegian again. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy! This is the second time I have cruised on MSC Divina during New Years holiday. The first cruise in 2018 / 2019 was nice I’m not sure what happened this year because it has really gone down. Services suck, I hate to be blunt but there’s not much more I can say about it. They usually have one main waiter and an assistant but they only had one waiter waiting on four tables So dinner took hours every night. The shows were ok, the best entertainment on the boat was watching people fight over pool chairs at the pool. People would put towels on pool chairs and never sit in them all day long. We were on an 11 day cruise and by the 3 or 4 days they were running out of certain coke products, there is no excuse for this. Instead of making there frozen drinks with a blender they are using machines like they make slushies, really water down. I have children and they were with us and they look forward to ice cream machines witch they have done away them also, you have to buy and ice cream package. The friendly person that I met while I was there was the guy who took care of our cabin he did an excellent job but thats about the only good thing I can say good about MSC. You mention to the staff about problems the could care less, they always say it’s not my area you need to go talk to someone else. If you pay the difference for the yacht club plan you get service though it seems. And finally getting off of this cruise ship was a joke, I had a 17 hour drive home (Miami to Louisville Kentucky) so they offer an express line you can carry off your luggage, but I swear we waited in line for 3 hours this is no excuse for this. They had two people checking ship cards and no other ship staff was around. There was people arguing, cutting line, pushing it was mass confusion. I have taken many Carnival cruises and will be going back to Carnival for any other cruise, MSC needs to see how these other cruise lines operate and take some of there hospitality and entertainment advice.
