Mingalabar!! We finally decided to pay Myanmar a visit and we have included the cruise as part of the lists of things to try, and boy did we make the right choice! The Strand cruise made our whole Myanmar experience more memorable. We spent my husband’s birthday and New year celebration on the cruise. From day 1 of pick up in Mandalay, we were greeted with friendly staff and had a quick tour with an agent Hubert around Ubein bridge. Hubert was very friendly and knowledgeable with very good English command. Light Breakfast was served too while waiting for our ride to the port. The cruise has definitely exceeded our expectations. Amenities were great. The cabin we were given was superb with a good bathroom and a nice view. Service was excellent! Food provided while on the cruise were all very tasty and presented very well. The dinner at the sandbank was awesome. Food served were fresh and delivered by friendly staff. Thanking the whole crew for taking good care of our needs. Special mention to Barth, Neville, Win (hope I remember his name right, the hairless guy at f&b), the Thai chef and his crew for making my husband’s birthday celebration memorable and for the delicious food on board. The port in Bagan was average but everyday we were taken out for tours at Pagodas and temples with a tour guide. We did the horse ride and met some locals. We celebrated New Year’s Eve on the boat where there was some live cultural show and a band. We got to mingle with other guest while waiting for the new year countdown. It was a lot of fun! On our last day before checking out, we went for the hot air balloon ride which we booked separately. It was an awesome experience! Everything was just perfect! Encouraging and inviting those planning to visit Myanmar to include a cruise with The Strand for a much special trip. Kyay Zuu Par (Thank You!). We hope to be back! Living in hong kong, we were keen to visit the burmese heritage in a comfortable environment. The strand cruise was introduced by a friend who was delighted by his experience. The ship is brand new and decorated with very good taste. The cabin are spacious and very confortable. Bath room is big enough. The food served during the cruise was excellent and diverse, since we tasted various types of cuisine such as burmese, thailand, french among others. Onboard activites were based on local shows and tradition and was quite interesting. The staff is extremely efficient and discret, the food is enchanting and the onboard and shore activities are pleasant and culturally enriching. Shore activities are mainly focused on the visit of religious monuments dating as far as 11 century. The guides are well trained and very helpful. WE ARE TOTALLY SATISFY WITH THIS EXPERIENCE AND WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THE DISCOVERY OF MYANMAR CULTURE AND TRADITION TO JOIN THIS CRUISE Read Less

Like many we wanted to see Myanmar as it is emerging as a tourist destination. A piece in The Australian Travel section highlighted the Strand Cruise. We chose a date that coincided with one of the Themed cruises- this one was classical music. The vessel is all style, plenty of space for everyone including those who want to laze around the pool. The restaurant, the bar and all of the public areas were so comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Complementing the ship were the staff and crew and what a fabulous job they do. Everything worked for the comfort of the passengers. The included tours of Bagan, Ava, Mingun and Mandalay were well paced and excellent. Plus they were flexible. We spent 2 nights in Bagan prior to the cruise and the staff made sure we did not revisit temples. Food on board was some of the best we have had. Cultural contacts were genuine and excellent. I used the spa and my treatment was very good. We did catch one of the housekeeping staff in our cabin one day ironing our pillow cases on the pillow. No wonder they always were so crisp! The music from the 8 French musicians was top class and a real bonus. Its a top class cruise in special part of the world, go...Also take the 2 night option in Rangoon at The Strand Hotel, its great to. Read Less

We spent a day in Bagan and then boarded our cruise. The boat is very new and has highly trained staff in all areas who provide an amazing service. Whether the food, the bar, the courtesy of all the staff, it is second to none. The dining is excellent and french wine was included with all the meals. A highly personal service. The river is interesting and relaxing but not a massive amount to see. The river level was low and the captain did well to navigate through the shallow waters. We stopped at a number of places and the guides were good as were the tuktuk, horse and cart and other modes of transport. The entertainment on board in the evenings was interesting. If you want a posh, up market, luxurious experience, you cannot do better than the Strand Cruise. We would recommend this cruise to all of our friends. Read Less

This is the second cruise I have taken with Tint Tint Travel and Tours. The Makara Queen was refurbished in 2015 and everything is brand new - new rooms, new bathrooms, etc. We were with a group and had rooms on the third deck. One couple had to suite which was lovely. All of the rooms and bathrooms were very nice and way better than I expected. The staff went above and beyond to make the guests comfortable. The excursions off the boat were well planned, organized, and informative. Our guide and boat staff always accompanied us. One staff always carried umbrellas - either for the sun or rain. And another staff always carried a first-aid kit and water. The food was excellent and the dining room and buffet set up was very nice. They had real flowers throughout the ship. The sun deck even has a small pool!! You can take anywhere from 3-nights to 14-nights cruises. I'd recommend 5 nights if you have the time. Great for anyone - older couples, young couples, or families with children of all ages. We had our 10 and 12 year olds with us and they loved it. Highly recommended! Read Less

We had a wonderful trip on Road to Mandalay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always smiling. The Management was available at all time. The guides were very informative and the excursion places well-chosen. We did the bicycle in Bagan in the morning and it was an unique experience. Seeing the temples in the morning, going outside of the tourist places, seeing the balloons among the temples, an unforgettable memory. The food was always delicious and we had a great first night on the top deck at Bagan eating BBQ from the Thai Chef. We saw other ships on the way and Road to Mandalay seemed to have the biggest top Deck and a swimming-pool not like the other ships. We also tried the SPA and the massage was very relaxing and I felt so refreshed after. The SPA therapist spoke a little English but was very attentive to my needs. So far, it was the best cruise I have did thanks to the Chef, the staff and the nice cabin and I will come back! This cruise could be child friendly. Read Less
