Good cruise spoiled by bad taste comedian

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Azura

Been on Azura before and did not fancy a long flight to USA / Caribbean so booked to sail from Southampton as its only a 4 hour drive. Since booking and trip they stopped you bringing alcohol on board at destination ports and put gratuities up by 15% (over 100% in the last 5 years). Getting on was a pain, having to wait over 1 hour, watching coach guests with blue cards bypass many others ...

Very disappointing

Chose the cruise because we wanted to go to some of the Caribbean island we had not previously visited and because we had had a relaxing cruise on Ventura last year. We knew early on that we obviously could not go to St Maarten. Storm Brian delayed us by a day and cutting long story short we had 3 days in the Caribbean - 2 of them on islands we know well. No time in Barbados. No concessions of any ...

Bit of a let down...

This was my first P&O cruise chosen by the friend whose special birthday we were to celebrate. P&O were nice enough to upgrade the two of us and both the super deluxe and balcony cabins were a fair enough size but oh so beige and plastic. Quiet though and well positioned should we have had rough seas but one of the upsides of this cruise was the calmest of waters I have ever ...

Decided on a last minute 7 night cruise on Azura to France and Spain. Embarkation was very well organised and within 30 minutes of arriving we were in our Cabin. Very disappointed with the cleanliness in the cabin, there was dust on the curtains, the bedding looked very worn, the toilet smelt of urine which was awful, this never changed for the whole cruise , we had to buy solid air ...

We chose this cruise because of the ports of call which where very good. Sailed from Southampton very efficient unfortunately gale force 8 around the Bay of Biscay so sea sick for 24hrs. On the Tuesday sun came out and all settled down. The ship showed the film AP McCoy on the sea screen lots of moaning I thought it was very good. The ship was top heavy with age 70 plus and disabled but ...

Are P & O too complacent?

It all started so well. Just a short break to celebrate my retirement. The journey from our home in Somerset was one of the best we have ever had as it was Easter Sunday and there were no shops open! We arrived at Southampton and joined the lengthy queue for CPS parking. After about 30 minutes we were processed and heading for embarkation in the Mayflower terminal. We had been given a ...

A good holiday but mixed feelings about Azura

We arrived exactly at our check in time and were able to check in immediately. It was an efficient check in with minimal queuing. It seemed many people had arrived earlier than they were advised and had to wait a long time in the hot lounge. Overall a very good experience- we were able to go immediately to our cabins and our luggage arrived soon after. The cabins are well appointed and ...

Falling Standards

Ship showing signs of age and lowered standards. In dining rooms lights not working and paint peeling on ceiling, stateroom carpet needed a good wet clean. However dining staff and room cleaners worked very hard, were obliging and pleasant. Food and entertainment generally good. Unfortunately, ship crew were short staffed and uncaring. Typical cost saving measures in Gibralta on 20th October 2015 ...

Not What We Were Expecting

I read the reviews before we went and I was a bit concerned as some seemed a bit harsh. We went with an open mind and it started well. Our balcony cabin was clean, comfortable bed and good shower. Our cabin attendant was lovely, always smiling and hard working. Lots of fresh bedding and towels. Unfortunately our cabin couldn't have been further from the buffet restaurants we seemed to walk ...

First time and last time cruiser.

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

I booked the cruise after several family members told me of their wonderful cruise experiences. How disappointed I was. Firstly, may I say how good all the staff were, especially the buffet staff. I felt however really let down by the lack of entertainment facilities. There was only one pool table, one table tennis table and one sports court , ( which is supposed to cater for ...
