We recently completed (9 February) a 2 week Caribbean cruise on the P&O 'Azura', having previously had a similar, shorter cruise on the Silversea 'Silver Whisper'. Inevitably we were tempted to compare the two, but tried to have realistic expectations, given the vast different in price between them (a holiday on Azura is about half the cost of Silver Whisper). Despite that difference, our views of ...
For our latest cruise we stepped out of our comfort zone of Celebrity and Fred Olsen to join P&O's Azura in Barbados for a Caribbean cruise. After twenty-five cruises this was our first time with P&O.
The embarkation process was great. We handed over our luggage at check in at Gatwick Airport, and we got it back in our cabin on the ship. We walked off the aircraft in Barbados, straight onto a bus ...
We have been to the Caribbean on holiday before and on P & O before, but this was our first time on Azura. We were told t was the sister ship to Ventura, but somehow seemed easier to navigate than Ventura.
We had a fitness walk on the promenade each morning, which sadly was also the smoking area, so our lungs while exercising where filling up with the smoke fumes, from out fellow unfit ...
I have had 4 cruises including this one and i would say that this is definetly up there with Ocean Village which I understand has gone to Australia. My wife and I were there from 28/12/2013 to 11/1/2014 and booked a 'getaway' deal which cost £1300 each for an inside cabin, got VIP and free airport transfers. The Cabin was fine, cleaned everyday and apart from no window/balcony it did the job! ...
It was our first time with P & O and in the Caribbean, we have cruised on NCL and Carnival previously in the Med.
We flew with Thomson on a 767 in premium Economy and it was a good flight with plenty room, entertainment and food. It was great that we got off the plane and straight onto a bus and direct to the ship without having to go into the terminal or through passport control and our bags ...
Was very worried before embarking with the lack of reviews concerning cruises over past christmas periods and what we did find didnt fill us with confidence either. This was to be the first time we had taken our two girls away (Aged 13 and 8) at this time of year and was a little worried that the celebrations were going to be a little muted.
From the moment we arrived seeing all the crew in santa ...
Having just returned from a two week Caribbean vacation on the P&0 Azura, all I can safely say is if this Ship was marketed to the Americans there would be an outcry with the sub standard food and the lack of good customer service, poor entertainment and some serious issues with very rude staff, but rest assured it is sold to the British market, and from our experience, many of the passengers are ...
So im not long back from my Caribbean cruise on Azura and what i would do to be back there right now. We had a fabulous cruise and apart from a few little things could not fault it! I will break this review into sections, its so much easier.
Flights and Embarkation-
We traveled out from Manchester on the 28th December our flight being 9:15. There was no issue at the airport whatsoever and the ...
We loved the idea of spending Christmas away so having done 2 cruises preciously the Caribbean seamed perfect.
The flight was perfect mainly down to the new Dreamliner, I can honestly say we felt refreshed even after a nine hour flight.
We opted for an inside cabin which was perfect, the steward Ebison was very good. Great location on deck 12.
We choose the 6.30 dinning in Peninsula, shared a ...
We flew from Manchester on 13 December to join Azura. We were in Premier seating and the cabin was only one third full. Excellent flight out and met at the plane by the coaches to whisk us off to the ship. No immigration, no cases to collect.
On the ship within 1 hour of landing and straight to our mid ships balcony cabin. When we booked this cruise 20 months ago we had opted for an outside ...
