This was our first cruise at Christmas and first voyage on P&O. We decided on Azura around the Canary Islands as the dates worked perfectly for us.
The ship is very dated for its age and in need of some TLC in the public areas and a good deep clean. It was 50/50 if the toilets would be clean when you used them, bins overflowing floors wet!!! First time I’ve been on a cruise and seen toilets ...
Wanted a Christmas cruise of 7 days duration and having travelled successfully with P&O previously we chose a Canary Island Cruise aboard the Azura.
P&O attract customers in this post covid period by stating that all adults must be fully vaccinated and should have the relevant paper work to demonstrate this. However, nobodies paperwork was checked and P&O can really have no idea on the ...
We chose this cruise for a week in the sun before Christmas. We are loyal RCCL cruisers and knew this would be very different but the dates, itinerary and mega cheap price drew us in.
In viewing the YouTube video of this ship before we booked we knew it wouldn’t be what we were used to.
Flight and transportation and checking in were all good…luckily we were on the flight that wasn’t delayed… ...
After settling into our suite on December 9th we decided to go to a bar for a drink, we were a little surprised to find the only draught available was Fosters or Peroni, but as this was poolside, we thought little more of it. Later we visited Brodies Bar where the Bar Fittings showed the availability on draught of Marston’s Pedigree, Shipyard American Pale, John Smith’s Smooth, Fosters Lager, ...
We were on a 2 week cruise on Azura from 9th December to 23rd December.
Flight for Gatwick with Jet2 was ok only 45 mins late but could have done without the 1hr transfer from Tenerife south airport to the ship in Santa Cruz. Check in was easy and we were in our room about 30 mins after getting off the coach. Inside cabin was ok at the back of the ship on Deck11.
We were on the ship in ...
I don't often write reviews, but having read some of the poor reviews left recently for this ship (which I feel are overly critical), I felt I should.
We sailed in the Canaries in early Dec. We are experienced cruisers (Elite members on Princess, and sailed on many other lines), but have only done P&O a few times. Reading the recent reviews, I wasn't expecting too much, but then again, this ...
We bought the drinks package at huge cost, but a fab treat. by day 7 the drink choice was running out. Many of the bar staff told us they didn't have any idea when they would get more on board, and that since covid the choice of alcohol ad been very limited. We asked to cancel the package so they refunded to our on board account and then charged us for what we had left. I am still waiting ...
What a shame,
Just been on 3rd and last cruise on Azura.
The experience has been cost cutted too far.
The prices no longer reflect value for money in my opinion.
I used to love Azura but after being woken up at 5.30am by cabin on ship shuddering with side engines all draws rattling etc.
Having breakfast and my eggs being "forgotten" by waiter in restaurant, only to bring them 20 ...
We sailed on this ship before covid and it was fine, however the ship has gone downhill fast.
Bad bits
No cruise director
No orchestra
Stage shows poor
Lack of maintenance obvious with common areas tired and cabins clean but need a refresh,
The buffet is too small and the food is probably better in prison as for breakfast they have floating scrambled eggs , brown stuff they say ...
I have been with Azura before and have enjoyed the cruises very much. We are at the Mediterranean level of their loyalty having also been on some of their other ships.
This cruise was a big disappointment. I was looking forward to it because they , before covid, had a very good vegetarian menu. Not this time. The food was not good at all, there were many people complaining about it . My ...
