Boarded Azura on April 27th; P&O usually do boarding very well and I was on the ship about half an hour after arriving at the terminal. Luggage arrived quickly and I was soon unpacked, had lunch and in the library choosing books and arranging internet time which is glacially slow and expensive but no more so than on any ship.

We travelled down from Yorkshire the day before and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Botley Road, a perfectly acceptable modern budget hotel, but alas no central heating in the rooms and Easter week 2013 was bitterly cold. We chose this cruise because of the places it visited, as never been before. Enjoyed all the ports and trips we went on. We thought the Azura crew handled the bomb scare at Gibraltar port very well. I hope the person/s responsible realised what delays and chaos they had caused though!!!

The Ship
It's been over 2 years since we were last on Azura for her maiden cruise. She seems to have worn well, other than the sink in our cabin which was cracked, so it was not pleasing to the eye, neither very hygienic. The other thing of note was the blue cushions for the sun loungers as they were stained and had seen better days. Time for some new ones P&O.

From the moment we embarked the vibe was good the food was fantastic, the entertainment top notch. the entertainment team were really great, Neil Oliver who is the entertainment Director was a star particularly at the Sail Away which are obviously his forte!!Having said that the Captain was a real sport at our Gibraltar one and joined in with the entertainment team.

We have sailed with P&O before & were wary of sailing on such a large ship.Once on the ship you really don't realise it can accomodate 3000 passengers.
