We chose this cruise because of the ports of call which where very good.
Sailed from Southampton very efficient unfortunately gale force 8 around the Bay of Biscay so sea sick for 24hrs.
On the Tuesday sun came out and all settled down. The ship showed the film AP McCoy on the sea screen lots of moaning I thought it was very good.
The ship was top heavy with age 70 plus and disabled but ...
It all started so well. Just a short break to celebrate my retirement. The journey from our home in Somerset was one of the best we have ever had as it was Easter Sunday and there were no shops open!
We arrived at Southampton and joined the lengthy queue for CPS parking. After about 30 minutes we were processed and heading for embarkation in the Mayflower terminal. We had been given a ...
We arrived exactly at our check in time and were able to check in immediately. It was an efficient check in with minimal queuing. It seemed many people had arrived earlier than they were advised and had to wait a long time in the hot lounge. Overall a very good experience- we were able to go immediately to our cabins and our luggage arrived soon after.
The cabins are well appointed and ...
Ship showing signs of age and lowered standards. In dining rooms lights not working and paint peeling on ceiling, stateroom carpet needed a good wet clean. However dining staff and room cleaners worked very hard, were obliging and pleasant. Food and entertainment generally good. Unfortunately, ship crew were short staffed and uncaring. Typical cost saving measures in Gibralta on 20th October 2015 ...
I read the reviews before we went and I was a bit concerned as some seemed a bit harsh. We went with an open mind and it started well. Our balcony cabin was clean, comfortable bed and good shower. Our cabin attendant was lovely, always smiling and hard working. Lots of fresh bedding and towels. Unfortunately our cabin couldn't have been further from the buffet restaurants we seemed to walk ...
Oh dear......
What has happened to P&O?
This was our 10th cruise with P&O and they seem to be getting progressively worse every time
Embarkation was quick and easy as always. Cabin ready by 2.00pm.
Like a lot of other passengers we were not happy with the change of ports and the three full days at sea on the homeward leg, its a long way back to Southampton from Ibiza by sea, most of the time ...
Being a large ship, we were not surprised to wait an hour or so, going through the usual reception system. Once on board, it did not take long to get into the cabin and make that important cup of tea, preparing to wave goodbye to Southampton. That's when we first noticed just how smoky the ship was. Of course, P&O allow smokers on the balconies - it's their prerogative and right, so that was the ...
Well, here we go. We have just finished our 17 night cruise to Venice on Azura (A214) and as this was our first cruise with P & O I wanted to post a review with particular comparison with Princess (with whom we have sailed 8 times). We wanted to go back to Venice and the itinerary offered two days in port and so this was an ideal opportunity to try P & O.
We were in a suite (R 401) and this was ...
