Worst experience we have had on P and O been cruising for 9years

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Azura

Opportunity for sun after winter, family relaxation however it is the first time we have had such a poor experience with P&O. Hygiene was appallingly maintained for first week hence a significant norovirus outbreak. Passengers were allowed to regularly slip into buffet areas without any sanitising. Norovirus protocol resulted in staff serving you the buffet. Food was dumped on plates in ‘piles’ ...

In the past we have sailed on P&O cruises through recommendation, Our first, on the Oriana was excellent, the next time, it was good, lots of cutbacks, ie. silver service in restaurant, food selection in buffet resturants, and dining rooms. This last P&O cruise on the Azura was a real disappointment, on the first night in the restaurant, the gentleman next to me asked the waiter for an extra scoop ...

We liked the ports of call Lisbon, Cadiz. Barcelona, Ibitha and Gibralter as some we had never been to before. Embarkation was fast and well organised, the ship was beautiful, very clean and staff very helpful. been on lots of other cruises waiting staff good but never smiled, they were from india and pakistan area. Food good with plenty of choice, never had to queue at any meals. Shore ...

We were looking forward to visiting the 4 locations, first one (Vigo) had to be missed because of bad weather which was unfortunate. We had travelled with Cunard before and as P&O are the same firm we expected similar high standards but were disappointed with the facilities and entertainment. The public spaces and bars were crowded. The buffet was more like a scrum than a dining area, ...

We lost a stop in Vigo due to rough weather which was unavoidable but the general condition of the ship was not 100% with leaks in several locations etc. We requested a table for two for Dining but were not given this. We had selected a select dining so could not choose another location meaning that we ended up in the buffet every evening. Food was good however. We are not antisocial but when on ...

Worst holiday I have ever had

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Azura

We chose this cruise for a week of relaxation and good food and to see places we hadn’t seen before. We badly needed this holiday. We could not see Viga due to bad weather! It was horrible.... noisy crowded and our cabin dirty. Butlins would have been better. The food was bland and often cold . The cabin was awful. We paid £2600 plus for a super delux cabin. Money we worked hard ...

Azura Ship P&O

I chose this cruise for a relaxing break as it was my Birthday . 7 nights departure from Southampton on the 12th October 2018. This cruise was a nightmare from beginning to end and would not recommend it to anyone. Its all about the money and not customer guest satisfaction or respect. This ship should never have left Southampton as there would have been weather warnings. We were in a hurricane ...

Some friends wanted to go on a cruise but wanted someone to go with them, as we have been cruising with Cunard they asked use, as it was there first time and some of there family had been with P&O we said we would go. Well all I can say is BIG MISTAKE, cabins were dirty, you dare not walk with bare feet on the carpet, you could write your name in the dust, it smelt fusty, the bedding was stained ...

Much better than expected despite poor weather

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azura

We chose this cruise because the date suited us and we had never been to Lisbon city centre, Cherbourg town or Oporto, We cruised extensively over the last few years but mostly with American-based lines, ie Celebrity, Princess, Disney and RCL and also with Viking Oceans, and I had slight reservations about whether we would find this ship 'too British'. It undoubtedly is very British in ways ...

Good cruise despite the weather

This was our third time on the Azura and as usual we had a good time, despite the best efforts of the weather to try and spoil things. Let's break the review down a bit... Embarkation. We had a 3:30 slot but didn't get onboard until almost 4:30 as there was a sudden flurry of people all seeming to turn up at the same time. I was a bit annoyed that I couldn't log my credit card at check-in as ...
