Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Azamara Onward

Small friendly ship. Food was very good - never had a problem selecting something and it always came up hot. Service was also very good. The host knew our name after the first night at the MDR. Breakfast and lunch buffet was also very good - different selections every day for lunch. We enjoyed the 'Living Room' bar and piano music. Different 'theme' music most nights - nice atmosphere and a ...

First time AZAMARA - mixed balance

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Azamara Onward

It was our first cruise with AZAMARA ("Onward") and this is our overall impression: Positive: The "Onward" is fully renovated and in a good condition. In all areas the whole staff makes a fantastic job - professional, exceptionally prudent and friendly without exception (Our waiter BLAISE in the "Spirit" bar made the best job ever). Very good to excellent food. Quality of the ...

Not a "Luxury Ship" but it was a fair prize for what it offered.

We always cruise over the Holidays and out of approx. 30 cruises taken so far, this was our 3rd Azamara Cruise and first on the supposedly all "new" Azamara Onward. The Good: Mostly very friendly staff and crew. Good Housekeeping and our Cabin Attendant (Jonel) was excellent! Food & presentation good. The Captain and Executive Chef, F&B Managers and Supervisors very visible. ...

Terrible Dining Room, Great Ship and Crew

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Azamara Quest

First, the Captain and crew were very good. The Captain regularly and calmly kept the passengers up to date on the number of COVID cases (both passenger and crew), and every officer and crew member we encountered during the voyage was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Service both in making up our room, to the pool deck, and dining room was very good and at times exceptional (a term we ...

ABCs (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) in a Club Continental Suite

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Azamara Journey

We've had the ABC (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao) islands on our radar for quite some time but just never found the right cruise to take. Azamara altered their Fall 2019 itineraries earlier this year after cruises were banned from Cuba, and one of those new itineraries visited the ABCs. The cruise was a late addition to the schedule and I presume wasn't very popular as prices kept dropping. In ...

One of the best cruises we have been on

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Journey

We decided to go on this cruise because I would celebrate my 70th birthday on the ship, I had never been to the Caribbean, after 10 cruises we decided to try out a more luxury ship and finally we wanted to visit New York for the first time. We had previously sailed on the Tahitian Princess many years ago. It was also an R class ship, identical to the Journey. We loved the ship and the ...

To preface our experience, my husband is not a comfortable traveller, and i never considered cruising because of the amount of people on board. This is why I chose Azamara, I felt 680 ppl is a do-able size for me. I also purchased the "ultimate experience package" so i would have everything covered with no surprises once on board. What a wonderful experience! Embarkation was a breeze, from ...

Couple of slight complaints

This is the third time we have cruised with Azamara. We have previously cruised with Oceania and Seaborne. The staff were as usual very attentive and well mannered and always eager to help. In particular our butler and room attendants were especially good.We stayed in a Club World Owners suite and it was a good size with a large walk through bathroom and seperate toilet and with a lovely huge ...

Good In Depth Visit to Cuba

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Journey

We choose this cruise because of the amount of time that would be spent in Cuba. This was our first cruise on Azamara, and only our third cruise overall (previous cruises were on Regent and Ponant. We liked the small size (690 passengers) of the Journey. We thought our cabin (Club Continent Suite 8064) was excellent - large, plenty of storage, adequate sized bathroom. Only minor complaint ...

Excellent opportunity to explore Cuba

Three ports in Cuba, three days in Havana. . .all were enticing! Our first cruise on Azamara, a little pricey, but we were determined to make the trip. As others have said, we, too, were led to believe that you needed to participate in the high-priced Azamara excursions every day in order to comply with both U.S. and Cuban rules for U.S. visitors. Not true. Although we did three tours because we ...
