We are experienced cruisers and have tried a number of different cruise lines over many years. Overall, we enjoyed this cruise despite the disappointment of missing Raratonga due to the poor weather and conditions too dangerous to permit safe tendering. But the food was a huge disappointment and on the basis of that alone I do not expect we will ever choose Azamara again.
At the outset we ...
We chose this cruise because we were interested in seeing the South Pacific and New Zealand and the package deal we got included airfare, unlimited internet and trip insurance (important, as my husband and I are in our mid-60s). We missed our flight and the ship's sailing from Tahiti, so had to board in Bora Bora, the second port on the itinerary. Checking in was fast and efficient - everything ...
Hawaii has been on a bucket list for years and having sailed on Azamara Journey before and liked the small friendly ship, this looked like a great trip. It was a lot of sea days, 11 out of the 18 on board. It was rough weather coming out of LA, high winds and high seas, but on the whole Journey handled it well, even if sleeping was somewhat like dozing off on a roller coaster.
The staff are ...
In a nutshell: Consistently best food we’ve had on a cruise ship. Special events were well above most other cruise lines. Service was good, but lacked the “sparkle” of other high end (and more expensive) cruise lines that try harder to exceed your expectations.
We took this cruise because it was my mother-in-law’s 82nd birthday and Tahiti has been on her bucket list since she was a child. ...
We were looking for something different for the Christmas break, and sailing round exotic locations like Bali and having the opportunity to see Komodo Dragons in their natural habitat seemed an opportunity too good to miss!
After sailing with Celebrity, we were really looking forward to experiencing what sister company Azamara had to offer, and were not disappointed! The smaller ship and ...
A different part of the world, a different culture and parts of the unknown brought us to Azamara's cruise from Singapore to the ports in Indonesia. Our journey was not only a first for us, but also a first for Azamara's Journey.
My wife and I had sailed on the Journey just before it headed to the dockyard for it's reimagination makeover. As many people have written, we were pleased with the ...
The chance to take a last minute Christmas and New Year cruise with our adult children round trip to Indonesia from Singapore was too tempting to refuse. What better way than a Christmas Cruise to let our kids know what we've grown to love and appreciate about Azamara and keeps us returning.
Embarkation was a quick process and we seemed to be on board in no time. Initially there had been some ...
We booked the Azamara Quest cruise from Sydney to Bali sailing on 13th February 2016 way back in 2014. The itinerary looked fabulous and we had been advised that as cruise virgins we should go high end. This looked to be perfect. However, we were then told by seriously experienced cruisers that if we wanted to enjoy luxury cruising without the price tag we should try Celebrity, which we did in ...
This was our 7th cruise with Azamara, and by far the most disappointing.
The ship is tired and well overdue the overall planned refurb within the next few months, but that was what we expected.
The ports were very much as we anticipated but Lombok, Thursday Island and Cooktown are really not geared up to visitors. We enjoyed Darwin, with the exception of the Azamazing evening, Port Douglas ...
Sail Date: 22 December, 2015
Recently completed the 14 nights Christmas and New Year’s Eve cruise, on the Azamara Quest, from Bali to Cairns. Although my husband and I had a very enjoyable time, our experience of this second cruise was not the excellent experience we had had on our first cruise (Hong Kong to Singapore, Azamara Journey, January 2014.)
What was still excellent about the ...
