We chose this cruise because it had a great itinerary, starting in Buenos Aires with 3 days in Rio during Carnaval, and it included Uruguay.

So we were a little younger than most on the Ship but we weren’t to bothered with than until we found a few older people became rude and grumpy. Jumping lines constantly and on more than one occasion people arriving late to shows and demanding the best spaces to sit. And of course deck chair hogs need I say more.

We chose this cruise because we like the small ship experience with lots of sea days. We wanted to see Rio and Lisbon. Embarkation was a bit off-putting. It is inexplicable why Azamara, when they drydocked the new to them Pursuit, did not add a pool heater. Although the pools on all the Old Renaissance ships are small and oddly shaped with their two whirlpools “pinching” the pool in the middle, Oceania made sure to add pool heaters, Azamara apparently cheaper out leaving the pool only functional for most when it is in the tropics. We chose this cruise as we wanted to go to Antarctica but didn't want to pay the prices of the expedition ships. Fortunately the ship was small enough to allow us to navigate some of the small passages and appreciate the wonder of icebergs and penguins. We even entered an active volcano.

The ship is lovely except for the old windows which need painting. The dining room food and service was outstanding. Thank you Vishal ..the egg man, for looking after us.
The Living Room was our favourite place...classy, quiet, and relaxing with the ever changing view.
The buffet food was always only luke warm. Many passengers complained but this was never resolved.

Been on Azamara several times. The brand is in the luxury market and priced accordingly and, in this light, I think it has slipped from its original standards. This was our third trip on the Journey. We have not been on any other cruise ships , so cannot compare.
Overall it was a good trip. We very much like the small ship experience, no kids ambiance, and the staff are all excellent , and seem to "know you personally". Other guests were predominantly "senior", but well traveled and easy to get into conversation with.
