We had always wanted to try Azamara as they are the upscale product of RCCL and Celebrity, and our loyalty status transfers over equally from Celebrity. The ship is small - 30,277 tons and accomodates up to 694 passengers. Azamara caters to an upscale, sophisticated cruising crowd. There were no children on this crossing and a large percentage of the guests were retired. The ship's public ...
We chose this cruise because of itinerary. Unfortunately due to hurricanes in the Caribbean 2 scheduled stops were changed but can't blame Azamara for the weather. We sailed from Barcelona having had 5 days in Barcelona prior to cruise. We stayed at Avenida Palace hotel which was very good and a short walk to all the sites. Embarkation was not as smooth as previous boardings with Azamara. Took a ...
I have cruised Azamara many times, but first time on my own. I met so many nice people who asked me to join their company that I never felt alone.
There was one issue that most passengers were concerned about. that was the issue of "service dogs" Even avid dog lovers could not get over the fact that if you need a dog to dine with. You should also need a dog when you dance on deck during the ...
This was our fourth cruise with Azamara, in fact the only cruise line we have ever been on. We decided on a transatlantic, because what could be better than cruising into the old port of Montreal where we live! My father also did a similar trek ages ago when he came to Canada from Ireland. We did not stay in Southampton before the cruise began, we flew into Heathrow, and taxied to the ship. We ...
With a little more planning and attention to detail by the Cruise Director and his team, this could have had a five star rating but opportunities were missed.
The inadequacy of planning was most noticeable in the failure to ensure that lectures about port information were given before the port itself was reached. Quite why some sea days had no port lectures scheduled, resulting in them being ...
We booked this cruise almost 23 months before sailing, as the ship was being repositioned to Montreal for a Charter. We paid for an inside cabin, but were upgraded to a V2 balcony cabin. Although we rarely used the balcony due to poor weather on the Atlantic crossing, it was useful for taking early morning photos when we arrived in port.
The weather in all ports of call was good, more than be ...
We have been fortunate to cruise with lovely Azamara several times before, and are very fond of these lovely comfortable ships, whose staff excel at making guests feel comfortably at home. This time, we chose Quest for a favourite Transatlantic crossing, embarking right in the heart of gorgeous Seville.
We were welcomed by name by cruise staff who remembered us from previous cruises, and made our ...
We kept hearing how amazing Azamara was: "You will love it." "It's wonderful!" Etc. We certainly enjoyed our TA cruise, but the experience did not live up to advance notices.
Embarkation in Seville was super easy. No one was there when we arrived, so not even a minute's wait. However, the space was very small so if a crowd had arrived at once things would have been problematic.
Our first thought ...
My first solo holiday since being widowed and I wanted an easy time. My first cruise and I chose a transatlantic crossing not realising that was a little ambitious. We had wonderful weather so it turned out to be a great choice but no one I had spoken to had heard of Azamara so had no idea what to expect. I just chose what I thought would be a restful holiday. The staff were all very loyal and I ...
The Azamara Quest Cruise was, in total, an enjoyable experience. We booked it specifically because we wanted sea time rather than port-a-day activity. We enjoyed the leisure and the generally good service on board. In more detail, we found mostly positives and a few less pleasing experiences. The American Airlines problems with its planes worked very much to our advantage. Getting to Miami to ...
