We picked Azamara because of the itinerary: three ports in Cuba. The price was high, but it was billed as a "premium line" so we thought the cost would be worth the experience. We loved Cuba; I had arranged private guides through FerTours (hats off to Alex!) in Havana and Cienfuegos and through Out of the Box tours in Santiago (Lisandra did an excellent job). In all three cities we traveled in ...
I am a solo traveler who chose this cruise strictly because of the itinerary, a Cuba-intensive one. My previous cruising experiences have all been with Regent, Crystal, and Silversea. I did not expect the same level of service and amenities I have experienced with Crystal and Silversea, but I did not expect to be met with a stateroom (8025) that was frankly filthy and in need of deep cleaning as ...
This was our first time on Azamara and we chose it because of the itinerary and because we wanted to try the brand. We are regular cruisers having done it many times on many different ships.
Firstly the good bits. Our club continent suite butler and the other room attendants were excellent. Very efficient, friendly and provided us with moments of great humour. We enjoyed having access to ...
We have travelled many times on Azamara, this was so looked forward to and disappointed on so many fronts.
The worst was the Amazing evening, it was dreadful. The blurb said we would be met by stilt walkers and proceed carnival style to a folkloric evening, returning to the ship singing carols.
Wrong on all counts.
We were left to walk to the end of the pier for a performance by a ...
We were on the Azamara Journey for the transatlantic sailing April 5 to April 20 of this year and overall it was our 11th with Azamara and our 72nd cruise in total. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and after returning home cancelled 3 future cruises with Azamara.
We prefer to dance after dinner, rather than sitting in a show, and unfortunately many evenings for us were tedious and ...
First of all, the crew was outstanding and also the entertainment, with the exception of the "amazing evening" which was far below average.
The food was good, although on two occasions, when my wife ordered from the menu, she was told that the item was not available.
We did not go on any ship excursions so I cannot comment in this area. They ship itself was well-maintained, the elevators ...
The second cruise after the dry dock, and they were still working on the ship! No washers or dryers, painting the baseboards, areas on deck partitioned off with plastic, food not that well presented or tasty. The crew was not familiar with the ship, and we were all awakened by the PA system in the middle of the night with a 'medical emergency'. That doesn't instill confidence for the passengers, ...
We just returned from an 11 day cruise on the Azamara Journey. The ship had come out of dry dock prematurely. The company allegedly allowed only 2 weeks to do a complete overhaul. There were weather issues and allegedly supplier problems. We waited 5 hours at the terminal for " polishing" We finally got to our cabin only to find varnish fumes, wet varnish, no rod in the closet, tv not working and ...
My wife and I and another couple went on the Azamara Journey Panama Canal cruise. This was our first (and last) Azamara cruise. The crew were all helpful and friendly. That was the strength of the cruise. Unfortunately I can't say much else positive.
For the first 3 days of the cruise many of the stateroom toilets on decks 6 and 7 didn't work. A fact that the crew was aware of before we left ...
I have taken 25 cruises(three with Azamara) and this was by far our worst cruise experience. Our toilets did not flush for 1 1/2 days. If this was not bad enough , we were were not originally compensated as everyone else was who experienced this misfortune. I had to go through 2 days of addtional aggravation before I was able to convince guest relations that our toilets were out as long as anyone ...
