We went on an Azamara cruise of the Mediterranean before Covid and really enjoyed it. However, we were very disappointed in the food on this cruise with the exception of the desserts - they were great! We fought with Azamara throughout the cruise trying to get credit for our full onboard credit. They did get it fixed in the end, but it was a major hassle.
The entertainment was worse than ...
While we enjoyed most ports and enjoyed our vacation, we were overall disappointed with how Azamara has changed. The biggest disappointment was with the quality of the food in the main restaurant (Discoveries). We've taken many cruises (and 3 others with Azamara) and can easily say this was the worst food we've experienced on any of them.
While we enjoyed the quality of the linens in the ...
Prior to booking, we heard so many wonderful things about Azamare and its onboard service that we were looking forward to experiencing it for ourselves. We might have been expecting too much.
My wife and I are pretty experienced cruisers. We’ve been on Viking Ocean and River, Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribean, and Virgin. We appreciate the small ship experience on Viking and Azamara more than ...
We chose this cruise as it was a smaller ship. We found it much more intimate, no queues and everybody was so friendly. The ship holds 700 passengers but there were only 400 on board.
The negatives are the swimming pool was small which if the ship had full capacity this could be a problem. Even though the interior of the ship had been re-furnished they had not done the staterooms. The ...
This was our first – and last – cruise on Azamara. We’ve been on about 15 cruises on five different cruise lines, but we’ve never had such a miserable experience with a cruise company’s office and corporate personnel before. Apparently, the transition from being a part of Royal Caribbean to independence has been a rocky one. The website almost never worked, and I spent days and hours on hold ...
Cruised with Azamara before, greatly enjoyed the ship and staff. The tours stand out for us, immersing you in the local culture more than their compeditors. Veranda cabin was laid out well. The shp was at maximum capacity, but you would never know it. Food was excellent in the buffets and main dining hall, never found a need to visit the specialty restaurants. Entertainment was good, but ...
For the most part, we enjoy Azamara, and this was our third, and likely our last, cruise with them. PROS: The onboarding and offboarding processes both went very smoothly. The life boat drill was short and perfect. Overall, the ship is clean, our cabin was nice, and the staff is mostly very accommodating. CONS: No champagne service offered during onboarding this trip. The only high end wines ...
We chose this cruise because it was very well priced on Vacations to Go and we liked the ports. Trouble was, we didn't leave from Venice but Chioggia. So we had to drag our bags from Marco Polo airport a LONG way to a bus to take us to Chioggia and we had to pay, ourselves, for the bus transfers.
Azamara redid their whole computer system in the weeks before we were departing so we could NEVER ...
First time on Azamara.
Enjoying the smaller ship (700 passengers).
Nicely refurbished.
Cabin corridor however, seems under lit to me.
Free Launderette on Deck 7 (mid ship)
Washer, Dryer and Soap. Opened 8am to 9pm.
Staff have been remarkably polite and attentive.
Gold star.
Food in the 2 speciality (extra fee) restaurants (Prime C - Steakhouse) and (Aqualina - ...
Our friends chose this cruise to ensure we got some 'winter' sunshine and it was part of a slightly longer hotel and cruise stay. The cruise could have easily been so much better with a little bit of organisation. The embarkation was disorganised and some people were left in a holding area for no apparent reason. We arrived with our friends (2 groups of 2) and we were guided to 2 different check ...
