We chose this cruise because it was very well priced on Vacations to Go and we liked the ports. Trouble was, we didn't leave from Venice but Chioggia. So we had to drag our bags from Marco Polo airport a LONG way to a bus to take us to Chioggia and we had to pay, ourselves, for the bus transfers.
Azamara redid their whole computer system in the weeks before we were departing so we could NEVER ...
First time on Azamara.
Enjoying the smaller ship (700 passengers).
Nicely refurbished.
Cabin corridor however, seems under lit to me.
Free Launderette on Deck 7 (mid ship)
Washer, Dryer and Soap. Opened 8am to 9pm.
Staff have been remarkably polite and attentive.
Gold star.
Food in the 2 speciality (extra fee) restaurants (Prime C - Steakhouse) and (Aqualina - ...
We chose the cruise to meet up with family from the UK and to visit Japan for the first time. This was our first time on Azamara. The embarkation in Hong Kong was chaotic. Most staff are a delight and go out of their way to help; a few should find another occupation.
We only did two ship's tours and they were excellent. Our main complaint was the lack of port information before we docked. ...
We chose this cruise because it had a great itinerary, starting in Buenos Aires with 3 days in Rio during Carnaval, and it included Uruguay.
We loved the itinerary, the staff on the ship was outstanding, helpful, friendly and seemed happy. Food was Ok, not what we had experience on a previous Quest cruise. In the restaurant the food was Ok,but not great most of the time, but the buffet didn't ...
So we were a little younger than most on the Ship but we weren’t to bothered with than until we found a few older people became rude and grumpy. Jumping lines constantly and on more than one occasion people arriving late to shows and demanding the best spaces to sit. And of course deck chair hogs need I say more.
The service was good in parts great to see so many of the senior crew around the ...
We had heard so much about how impressive Azamara was and, after several cancelled cruises due to Covid and the war in Ukraine, we were really looking forward to the "South Africa Intensive" cruise. First, the positive: the service cannot be faulted. It really is impeccable.
That being said, the rest was less impressive. A few days before sailing, we were advised that we had been upgraded -- ...
Travelled from New York to have an intensive New Zealand cruise and to experience what some would call the 8th wonder of the world in cruising Milford Sound. Instead azamarra decided to save money and not follow the New Zealand regulations which were issued on Oct 2022 -3 months before the sailing date- to get its ship hull properly inspected and cleaned. They knew in advance that their failure ...
This was our first cruise post Covid and we were delighted to be back on the waters again We had previously enjoyed a great cruise on Azamara some years back, so we had high expectations for this sailing. As it turned out, our hopes for the cruise were perhaps a bit unrealistic and overall, we were somewhat disappointed in the Azamara product.
First the positives
• The service: We ...
Pre-Cruise - 3 destinations changed with no reduction in price. Complained to Azamara before we set off and were only given $300 onboard credit as compensation.
Check-In - Some sort of IT failure meant we couldn’t check in for 3 hrs. When IT system came back, even though we’d checked in online pre-cruise, the process of checking paperwork and taking photos etc. took a long time. No drinks, even ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and because we’ve travelled before on an “R” class ship (one of Oceania’s). We travelled from New Zealand to London to see friends after 3 years of covid lockdown separation. Having been caught out by travelling to the port on embarkation day in the past we built a day into our itinerary to get from London to Bordeaux. This worked in our favour as the ...
