Disappointed

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

We went on an Azamara cruise of the Mediterranean before Covid and really enjoyed it. However, we were very disappointed in the food on this cruise with the exception of the desserts - they were great! We fought with Azamara throughout the cruise trying to get credit for our full onboard credit. They did get it fixed in the end, but it was a major hassle. The entertainment was worse than ...

Nice Trip, but Problems!

For the most part, we enjoy Azamara, and this was our third, and likely our last, cruise with them. PROS: The onboarding and offboarding processes both went very smoothly. The life boat drill was short and perfect. Overall, the ship is clean, our cabin was nice, and the staff is mostly very accommodating. CONS: No champagne service offered during onboarding this trip. The only high end wines ...

We chose this cruise because it was very well priced on Vacations to Go and we liked the ports. Trouble was, we didn't leave from Venice but Chioggia. So we had to drag our bags from Marco Polo airport a LONG way to a bus to take us to Chioggia and we had to pay, ourselves, for the bus transfers. Azamara redid their whole computer system in the weeks before we were departing so we could NEVER ...

Not Amazingly better than Celebrity

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

The Cruise was good, the ship is tired, the staff were great but they were no better than our experiences on Celebrity. In fact we felt the dining room staff on Celebrity were more attentive. The drinks policey did not really fit in with us, the wines were flat bottomed and cheap, we upgraded to the ultimate package but still had to pay $$$ for a port, which to me is ridiculous. The included ...

Need for Improvement - Last Day Horrendous

We selected this cruise because of its terrific itinerary. The ship in fact was only at sea for one night out of the eleven. Highlights were the evening at Ephesus arranged by Azamara, sailing into Santorini and Kotor, and the port of Dubrovnik. Food during the cruise was generally excellent with the best cuisine in the specialty restaurants. There were certain things that detracted from ...

Azamara but Not 6-star

We chose this cruise because we were asked to cancel a previous cruise with Oceania which was over-booked! We had a problem finding a cruise at such a late date. We thought that Azamara would be a good bet as it is supposed to be a 6-star cruise ship, having previously been on Oceania and Seabourn we had great hopes but unfortunately were were disappointed. The stateroom and especially the ...

Azamara Journey European cruise

We loved this cruise mostly because of the ports of call. The cabin was great as was our cablin attendant, Andre. However the food is only mediocre and the majority of the crew do not seem very happy. They force a greeting but seem put out when you ask for anything. We had four 18-20 year olds with us and they were treated quite poorly by the crew. Our friend's cabin attendant would knock on ...

Azamara doesn't Amaze!

This was our only Azamara cruise, although we have cruised more than 30 times on many different lines, our favourites being Celebrity and Cunard. We are a married couple aged 55 and 61 and just love to cruise. We chose this one as we were told by many many people that Azamara was a step up from Celebrity in service, food and entertainment. Unfortunately we were totally underwhelmed by our Azamara ...

Azamara Journey Disappoints

This was my third and last cruise (12 Night Best of the Holy Land) aboard the Journey. The ship is in desperate need of a serious makeover not just refreshing cosmetics. The staff was as friendly as ever. The quality and choices of food one expects from a cruise line that aspires to luxury branding was lacking. Even visits to the specialty restaurants fell short. Tour guides did not seem to be ...

Ship much older than one would think. Interior tries to intimidate the luxury of by gone days. 1). RECEPTION Check in at port excellent and quick. At reception it stated that the ship was full and no cabins were available to be changed. This was totally untrue. Upon reaching our cabin which was to be shared by two ladies we found it to be extremely small and dark and in no way suitable ...
